The six were in the waiting room of the hospital. What happened about six hours ago was horrific.
Rainbow Dash was crying into her husband's, Sorin, shoulder.
Pinkie's hair was deflated. She was hugging her husband, Cheese Sandwitch.
Rarity was also hugging her husband, Fancy Pants.
Applejack's hat was off and she was crying into Spikes shoulder.
Fluttershy and Discord were hugging each other.
Twilight was sitting beside Flash. Flash's wing was draped over her.
Applebloom was now sixteen. She and the rest of the former Cutie Mark Cursaders were in a close hug.
Apple Bloom took it the hardest. Zecora was like a second teacher besides Twilight Time, she often went into the forest to learn how to prepare more potions. Even though she already had her Cutie Mark, which was a beaker filled halfway with green liquid, on the outside was an apple bolssom. Inside the beaker was an apple. Sweetie Belle had a pink bell on the out side was a music note. Scootaloo had a helmet with a flaming wheel underneath it. She used her talent for potion making to good use. She often brewed a potion that kept parasprites and fruit bats away.
Suddenly a doctor walked into the waiting room. He had a somber look on his face.
"I-Is she okay?" Apple Bloom sobbed.
The Doctor took a moment to answer.
"I don't think so young one. The surgery went okay, but, I'm afraid that her heart was injured, but, we cant fix it. You might want to say your goodbyes. You may see her in room thirteen. I'm truly sorry we couldn't do more."
They slowly trudged to Zecora's room. When they walked in, Zecora was hooked up to a large amount of tubes and a heart moniter. She was struggling to stay awake.
"Zecora?"
Zecora nodded.
"Who wants to go first?"
"I-I will." Applejack volunteered.
"Zecora, I, I never apologized for thinking you were evil all those years ago. And for crashing into your roof. I-I never got to thank you for helping Apple Bloom get her destiny reviled, I'm sorry, for all the accusatons all those years ago. I want you to know, b-before you go. how much I love you....as a friend, I hope you know....that you'll never be forgotten. G-G-Good-bye, Zecora." Applejack was crying now.
Zecora pulled her air mask down to speak, her voice was raspy, like she was out of breath.
"Applejack, I will try not speak in rhyme like I usually do. I hope you know that I have already forgivin you for flying Rainbow though my roof. To you I leave my staff, you can plant it in the middle of your orchard, it will infuse the roots with growing magic. Your welcome but, all I did was push her in the right direction. Goodbye Applejack, I will never forget the time I had with you."
Applejack nodded.
"Zecora, I want you to know before you go, that if it wern't for you, I wouldn't be here right now. You help save me from myself, if you hadn't shown Twilight what was happening to me, I would've destoyed the town and never seen any of you again. And if it weren't for you, me and Applejack wouldn't be together. Thank you for everything." Spike who was taller than Zecora looked down at her with teary eyes.
She coughed, there was some blood on her hoof.
"Your very welcome Spike, and to you, I leave my tribal jewrey it's Dragon proof so you won't be temped to eat it."
Spike nodded and stepped back with his wife.
Twilight stepped forward.
"Thank you for all you've done, I can't say that, we've had many encounters, but, your one of my many friends, to the end. A-And beyond that."
"I promise you, Twilight, I will never forget the time we had. Even the poison joke. To Twilight and Flash, I leave all my books and Take the Alicorn Amulet and hide it."
Twilight nodded.
"I can't say much, since we only just met, but I will mour you just as Twilight will, we will never forget you." Flash stepped back with his wife.
Discord and Fluttershy stepped up to the bed.
"All I can say, Zecora, is that I'm greatful that a few years ago, you had the time, even if I fliped your hut a few times, to help me cope with emoitions for my wife, thank you for setting us up I'm still in debt for you doing that."
"Thank you Zecora, Thank you for everything."
"To you Fluttershy and Discord, I leave my chest of childrens toys, for your future children."
Fluttershy was expecting twins, Discord was especialy worried.
Rarity and Fancy Pants stepped up to the bed as Fluttershy and Discord stepped back.
"Thank you, Zecora, for helping me with my relationship a while back, and for the ideas for my nightmare night fashion. And Thank you For everything."
"Your wecome and for you, I leave My only book on Tribal customs of fashon, I hope you'll find it useful."
Fancy Pants gave a weak smile,
"I barly know you, but I too will mour you as Rarity will.
Zecora nodded and coughed, more bood, her lungs were failing.
Rainbow stepped up with Sorin.
"Hey, thanks for the relationship advice, and the encouragement for being a wonderbolt. Sorin and I are happy together, and thats because of you. Your awesome Zecora, and I will never forget you."
"I can't say much more Zecora, exept thank you, for the friendship with Rainbow."
"To you Rainbow, I leave my bird feather collection, if you will, can you continue it? I would like that." More coughing, followed by blood.
"Thanks for the laughs Zecora, thanks for the memories. Those aren't woth all the ballons in the world. The posion joke was funny. Even if I'm the only one who can understand you at times, I'll miss you. I'll never forget you. Your life is like a story, a story that I will tell my children and they will tell thier children. My family will always remember."
"To Pinkie, I leave my brews of jokes, I know you will enjoy them. I put a spell on them so you'll never run out. I want you to host the nightmare night walk every year from now. Tell of your adventures of defeting Nightmre Moon. That will make me happy."
Pinkie nodded with more tears in her eyes.
"Thank you, for making Pinkie smile." Cheese said solemly.
Cheese stepped back with his wide and let the CMC talk.
"Thank you Zecora, you were like a second teacher to me, a-a-and I-I'm gonna miss ya. Thank ya for everthing. For the help, the advice, the cutie mark basicly. For everything." Her heart slowed. "I don't have enough time to thank ya. I really don't, Me and the gals, we're so greatful. I-I'm sorry, that I didn't listen to ya all those times. I-I-It's not fair that you have ta die. I want ya to continue teaching me. I-I-I love ya as a friend, I'm honored to know ya Zecora. As an Apple, I promise on my family tree that I Will mever forget ya. Cross my heart."
"Your welcome Apple Bloom, I love you as a friend too. I want you to have my tree house, and my potion making kits. That includs my cauldron. As well as my potion books. Twilight can have the rest. I-I'll miss you too Apple Bloom, I-I-I love you as a friend too."
With that they began to sing.
" Under the willow tree, quiet as can be, lay my sweet child.
"May your slumber be peacful and bright, with the breeze you are light.
"When you wake, you will see, the soft greenary of the willow tree."
Zecora's eyes fluttered shut as she listened to her favorite childhood lulaby, soon the voices faded, her heart slowed. The last thing she heard was the loud continuous beep as her heart came to a slow stop.
