A Little Generosity and Kindness
Poor little fella
What a beautiful day, I think to myself as I look out the window at the wonderful town.“Matilda, do you think it's a marvelous day?”
“Yeah, I reckon it be a great day for some barbecue” Matilda says.
She is my black assistant. She came to Equestrianvile after the slaves were considered free men and women. I gave her a job as a secretary for my boutique. And since I'm not married, he keeps me company in my lonely store.
“Matilda, why don't you take the day off and enjoy the early summer sun today,” I say. “I’m pretty much done with Mister Rockerfeller’s new suit and I’ll be seeing my friend later this morning. ”
“Oh, can't do that, Miss Rarity. Don't you need me to do some chores for you?”
“Oh, don't be stubborn,” I say kindly. “You've been working so hard for me lately and you need a day off. Here’s 30 cents no need to repay me.”
“Oh, God bless you, Miss Rarity.” She shakes my hand. You are the most generous women I’ve ever meet.”
“No problem my dear.”
I Love the way my country my country is progressing,Blacks being allowed to roam free without a master and buildings being shot up to the sky!With the 20th century coming in 9 years i'm sure there will be more surprises to come!
the morning goes on,I go out into or little city to go and visit one of my good friends: Fluttershy. She came from a wealthy family but had donated much of her wealth to help the animals. Though she was nice, she was a bit of a social outcast.Most People in our town of equestrianvile don’t care much for animals aside from horses!
I walk into her cottage see her trying to fix a cage for her domesticated bunny, which I myself wouldn't understand why you want one as they eat my amelia all the time!
“Salutations, Fluttershy! Isn't it a lovely morning?” I say.
“Greetings, Rarity!” Fluttershy say. “I think I've got this big enough so Angel can be happy!”
“Fluttershy, dear, why would you name a pest Angel?”
“He’s quite the lover once you get to know him.”
“Sounds like Applejack’s brother!” I say. Fluttershy laughs at my witty remark. ”I was wondering if you would like some tea with me?”
“I'd love to, Rares,I had know other plans for the day!”
We leave her house heading to downtown neer the drug and candy store where my friend pinkie works, cracking jokes along the way.
“I'm surprised you didn't ask spike. you know he would do anything to have a date with you!” Spike was my other friend Twilight's adopted brother. He has a little and most adorable crush on me.
I laugh. ”I’ll bet he’ll just be happy to get out of school!”
Our joking stop as we hear crying from a young boy as well as yelling from a man over by the Ragtime theater . We walked over to see something that crushes my heart.
“What did I say about sleeping on the job?” the man yells
“I know but I’ve been doing this for 13 hours straight!” the boy says, in tears.
“That's no excuse! You should be selling papers!Do you want your family to starve?!Get to work you lazy bum! He processed punch the poor thing in the face! I cringe as i see the boy on the ground bleeding!
“Now tie these papers—you’ve got more work to be done!” The small child starts to tie the papers together, crying his poor little head off.
As much as i love this contery,theres one thing i don't like is child labor.My sister is lucky she gets to go to school and lern to read and do arrthmtic.Whell other as yong as 5 are forsced to work with dangerus hevey mechierry for 10 hours stragit!
Fluttershy walks over and kneels down to his level She asks him, ”What's wrong little one?”
The young boy whom seemed to not be more than seven said, sniffling, ”Pip, ma’am. My family came over from Ireland thinking that we would have a better home, but we were wrong.” He starts to bawl. Fluttershy wraps her arms around him.
I walk over ”Gracious, child, please do use a hanky!” I give him mine. As I start to clean his face a little, I can tell by look that he hasn't slept for a while.
“Rarity, this boy should get some rest. et's take him to your home so he may rest a while.”
“I don't want him to get in trouble with his boss.”
“Pish posh,”she says in turn. “That man shouldn't even be around him.”
I gently nod and wave to the boy. ”Come with me, young one. Let me clean you up and get you out of this dangerous area of town.”
Sleepy, the boy says ”But I need to work?”
Fluttershy says, ”Your health is more important.”
“You're,not taking him without my permission”The man said in his disgusting tone!
“Sir do you think,it is right for this boy to go on with no break?”
“If it menes more business,and more people knowing what goes on in this world then yes!”
“Well,My friend Twilight is in the city council and I can convinces her to arrest you for being abusive towards children!”
The man cringes,”Fine he may have an hour break,No more then that!”
“Thank you,and I promise he will be back!”
Fluttershy and I cross our fingers as he walks away!
I gently pick him up. His head lays on my shoulder; he’s half asleep. Once fluttershy gets a taxi carriage, the boy is asleep snuggling against my arm.
“Did we do the right thing?”I ask.
“I think so.”
We make it to my boutique that . I gently lay him on my couch and cover him with a blanket. I couldn't help but give the child a kiss on the forehead. I notice his clothes were battered, torn, and dirty.
“I think I’ll make a suit for him!” I say.
“Good idea Rarity. Maybe I could make a cake and a stew for him? He could use a good meal.” Fluttershy says.
As fluttershy goes into my kitchen, I start to measure his body. He's quite small for his age, it makes me wonder why they worked him so hard. I grab some baby blue cloth and use one of those new sewing machines.
After a while, I hear moaning. I walk over and see that the boy is having a bad dream. I gently hold his hand to make him feel better.
“How's the boy doing?” Fluttershy says, pulling up a chair as the cake bakes.
“I don’t know.”
“You don't think he's ill, do you?”she asks.
“I hope not,” I say, stroking his hair.
“Maybe we should give him some water just to make sure?”
“I don't want to wake him!”
“We could at least keep him awake enough to drink some water.”
I thought for a moment.The boy needs water and we promised him it.”Fine,but we must be gentle”
Fluttershy goes over to my well and pours water in a bowl as I pick him up and hold him upright like a baby. Once Fluttershy returns she gets a long spoon.
I wake him up a little. I can tell he’s barely conscious.
“Mummy? Mummy?” he murmurs, panicked.
“Shhhh, it’s fine. I'm here!” I’d never impersonate a person but, if it would calm him, I’d do anything.”
“Mummy,I want to go home!” Pip says very sleepily.
“Yes. I know.”
Fluttershy draws some water and sticks the spoon in his mouth. Thankfully he drinks the cool water.
“Can I go to school, mummy?”
“Shhh. Drink darling!”
He finishes drinking, and fluttershy and I use the rest of the water to clean his dirty face and hands.
Once the water is finished, I lay him down as he sleeps some more.
I worked my hardest on this suit Any boy deserves the finest suite—especially for church! And before I knew it, it was 7:00 pm! I hear Fluttershy putting the stew into a warm pot and putting the cake in a nice basket.
“Where am I?” I hear him say.
Fluttershy walks out.
“You got yourself a long rest child!” Fluttershy says.
“ Chesseem crow! I slept through the whole day! My boss is going to be mad!”
“Sweetie, there is no need to get your buttons in a bunch. I’ve telegramed my friend twilight who works at city council to tell your parents that you're safe and sound with Fluttershy and me.” I said, stern but friendly. “In the meantime Fluttershy made you some supper and looks like you could use some. So come now, darling. Please do eat.”
As he eats I go to my safe.
“This boy needs an education and his family needs the money!” I think to myself. Though a affole lot. I take $6.35 from the safe. I hide it in my dress pocket.
I walk back to see Fluttershy chatting with the boy, filling him up quite well. There's a ring at the door.
I open the door, and see a poor couple.
“Hello, darlings!” I say cheerfully.
“You have are boy?” the mother asks.
“Yes, he's just finishing his supper now!”
They walk into the dining hall.
“Hello mummy and papa!” he says, excitedly running up giving them a hug.
“Hello, sweeums,” his mother says, hugging him.
“Pip, you know we need you to do your job. Because of you running you lost your job! Now we have to get you a new one. Do you think we can get him to work at the steel mill like his little sister?”
“I don’t want you to put this boy though anymore stress! Look at him he’s practically almost dead, and having him work for 24 hours straight! He’s only boy he should be out playing, not working!” Fluttershy yelled.
“But we need him and his siblings to work to pay for our apartment!” his mother says.
“Which is why I'm giving you this!” I hand them the 6.35
“Gracious, what a lot of money!” His mother breaks down in tears.
“Ma’ma, we can’t take this from you! We can't repay you!”
“No need to repay me. I don't need all this money. I have no husband no children to share it with! You need it more than I do!”
“Thank you, miss!” the father says trying to hold back tears.
“There's more! My good friend Fluttershy made you some stew and a delicious cake for your family to eat for the night! And, I noticed your son had quite poor clothing, so I decided to make him a new suit, free of charge!”
“Thank you ma'am! Pip’s been needing new church clothes!” his mother says, still crying tears of joy.
“You're entirely welcome, darling.”
“Pip, be a good boy and thank the women who let you spend the day here!”
“Thank you Fluttershy. Can I see your animals sometime?” pip says, giving her a hug.
Fluttershy after giving him a hug gets down on his level and says, ”Any time.”
He comes racing over towards me giving me a big warm hug. “Thank you Mis. Rarity. You are the most generous lady in the world!”
I can’t help myself but to pick him up and hug him real close. I give him a kiss on the forehead and let him down.
“Come on, Pip. our brothers and sisters are waiting!” his father says.
“Good-bye,” they all say as they pick up their gifts.
“Goodbye to you as well,” Fluttershy and I say in unison.
The door shut. I light a match and light up a candle.
“I Hope we did the right thing.” Fluttershy says worriedly.
“Of course darling,why wouldn't it!”
“I don’t know I just hope we didn't get him in more trouble.”
“Me two, me two”

Well this is a long time coming!
This is an old fic that i wrote a long time ago and disced to resurrect and finish,Because I liked it and I was bored! So thats why it may not be as strong of a fic!
Any stuff you should know!
A: The religious references are only for historical proposes! If you have a problem with it I understand,but keep in mind there were way less atheist back thing then there are now!
B: Yes I had to change Pip from britten to Irish for a more realistic of a immigrant.But there so close It still kind of fits!
C:I tried to be some what historically acetate as possible!Yes Rarity probably would not have been as rich,and maybe there a few references that art actuate.But All of this knolglie came from 8th grade history,movies play,and books!
