The Apple's Core
Chapter One
Load Full StoryIt was a beautiful day in ponyville, just like every other day since last month. The good weather was great for every pony except the Apple family. The most successful pony famers in ponyville. They needed some rain and they need some now. But the Pegasus' weren't happy to do so.
"Are you kiddin' me!" Cider yelled and threw his hat on the dry ground. "These Pegasus ponies are really gettin' on mah nerve!"
"Oh Cider, calm your pony feathers" Granny Smith told his son with a calm and relaxing voice.
"But they can't do that." Cider said picking his hat off the ground.
"Princess Celestia is a wise ruler, she knows. She would never leave ponyville hangin'" Granny Smith spoke as she walked back inside. "Oh by the way, Sweet Apple is coming over!" Cider froze at the sound of that name. Sweet Apple was Cider's first ever crush in school, and she still is. He couldn't talk to her without blushing. How in the world was he supposed to face her after not seeing her since school.
"Mother! Ya can't just blurt that out in the last minute! I need to get ready!" Cider yelled as he was running upstairs to his bedroom. "No. No. No. No. No! Ma' I don't have anythin' to wear!"
"Oh Cider, she's your friend and very close to the apple family for that matter... No need to dress up like a buffoon. Be yourself." Cider sighed and closed his closet door and walked downstairs. He looked at himself through the mirror and sighed once again. "I guess Im over reactin' huh?" Granny Smith laughed at his son's foolishness, she had never seen his son like this. There was a moment of silence but it was broken by a gentle knock on the door, followed by a sweet and gentle voice.
"Granny Smith? I'm here, I.. I hope I didn't come in a wrong time." From the sound of her voice, she was definitely nervous, but trying to hide it.
"Come on in Sweet Apple!" Granny yelled in excitement. A beautiful reddish coloured mare walked in the house. Her big green eyes sparkled as she locked her eyes on Cider.
"Cider? Is... Is that you?" Her gentle voice sent shivers down Golden Apple's spine.
"Sweet Apple, how lovely to see ya..." He stuttered. Sweet Apple let out a small giggle and held her hoof over her mouth. "Likewise." She looked at Cider for a moment longer but then turned to Granny Smith. "This sure is a sweet little home." Granny stepped closer to Sweet Apple. "Well it sure is. But were building a new barn, and its takin' forever. And Cider here still needs to figure out a name for our brand new farm." Granny smiled. Sweet Apple fiddled with her bow, making it bigger and better. There was a moment of silence, Cider was looking down at his hooves because he couldn't look at Sweet Apple. She was as beautiful as ever. Her blonde mane was down and it was simple yet beautiful. Granny Smith kept looking at both Sweet Apple and Cider and she was smiling. "Well you've had a long ride, I bet you want a rest?" Granny said braking the silence. "Oh yeah, that would be lovely. Thank you." She smiled. "One problem. Like you said, this is a small house so you will have to share a room with Cider." Both Sweet Apple and Cider looked up and blushed. "But.." Cider stuttered again. "No buts. No move it. Its gettin' late!" Granny pushed Sweet Apple and she bumped into Cider. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." She laughed and blushed. Cider just smiled.
