Gema woke up happy to start the the day as he hopped out of bed, almost making the metal legs bend, and opening his curtains to be blinded from the light that shone thru the sticker covered window. Gema fell back and landed straight on one of the cans from last night. His memory's flash in his mind about the previous nights, the fair well party. He didn't remember much, but he remembered hanging out with Vinyl Scratch, his soon to be roommate. Vinyl suggested Gema to move in with her when she heard he wanted to move to Ponyville.
Gema slowly made his up on to all four hooves again and picked up the crushed yellow can on the floor with his teeth. He trotted out his bedroom thru the door next to the bed to walk into the kitchen around the corner before throwing the can in the trash from the other side of the kitchen, only for it to bounce back on the stone floor. Gema groaned and dragged his hooves along the ground towards the yellow can on the floor. He bend his head down to pick up said can, before swearing he could've seen a large pony like figure lying on the floor of the lounge room carpet before his blue and white hair flopped in front of his eyes, which was covered with the sunglasses he always wore.
He flicked his hair out the way, now ignoring the can, to see if what he saw was there or just his hangover screwing him over, but sure enough, lying there on the floor, a chubby pony with brown stains in his white coat, and blue spiked up mane.Gema approached the pony he knew as Bigg Yum, a friend of his. Gema tried waking him by trying to yell, but he was too tired to, making a small squeak noise. So, instead, he poked him with his horn, but nothing came out of his efforts as he tried countless things to wake him before giving up and walking back to the can. It was expected, Bigg was a deep sleeper.
Gema turned back around, giving up on waking his friend, he picked up the can threw in trash, this time it stayed there. He looked at his friend lying on floor once more and trotted back in his room to ready for the day.
Gema walked out his room, now ready for the day, when he spotted that Bigg was no longer on the floor, instead he trotted around the kitchen looking for something.
"Bigg?" Gema said, wondering what in Equestria he was doing.
"Gema! What are you doing? You have be on the train to Ponyville right NOW!" Gema was taken-a-back by how energenic he was, considering Bigg was a more heaver drinker than he was and should be still pasted out or at the least having a hangover. Gema had forgotten all about the move to Ponyville while getting ready for the day. Gema had a shot of realisation and looked at the clock: 1:30.
"The train leaves at one-thirty!" Gema yelled in panic, turning his head back to Bigg.
"No shit!" Bigg replied, pushing Gema towards the door. Gema pushed Bigg off him and moved him to his side so Gema could get past him. He entered the kitchen then opening a cupboard with a black handle unlike all the others that had no handles. He looked around for a moment before bringing out some keys on a blue key ring. Each key had a letters on it that marked what door it was for because Gema kept forgetting which key was which. Gema picked out a key marked with the letters F.R and rushed over to the front door and shoved the key in it and twisted. Gema hit the door open and called over the first carriage that came by. Bigg followed him out and sat next him as he yelled at the pony in front of them.
"Train station, as fast as you can!" The brown pony then started running, still at the running limit, and turned a corner that lead them down a straight line to the station.
Once they reached the train station, Gema jumped out the carriage and ran towards the closing doors. Gema yelled not to close the doors and sprinted as fast as he could and jumped in between the doors. Landing flat on his stomach, he looked around and saw that everyone was looking strangely at him, he shot up on all fours once again and blushed as everyone went back to talking.
Gema was glad he didn't need to grab luggage or he might have not made it, or at least he thought he hadn't need to grab luggage, but he trusted his friends that they had everything he needed at already at Ponyville. Gema frantically looked for Bigg thru a window that he was at. Just as the train started moving he spotted out the same stained white coat he identified as Bigg and began waving. Bigg turned to Gema after looking for him and started smiling and waving as well.
Even after Bigg was out of sight, Gema stared out the window wondering what kind of things he will be doing at Ponyville, what would his job be, what would he do for entertainment, and what kind of people he would meet there? After thinking for about an hour he felt a hoof touch his shoulder, he turned to see a unicorn mare with a mint coat and mane with some white in the mane.
"Are you okay?" The mint mare said, looking curious. She must have saw the curiosity in Gema expression and explained, "my name is Lyra, and you looked a bit depressed, so I thought to come over here and see if I could cheer you up!" Gema was more confused by who would go up to a stranger because they looked depressed, he for one would never go up to a stranger, but Gema put that to the side for now and introduced himself.
"I'm Gema, and I'm not depressed just... pondering about something." Gema said, not wanting to have an awkward conversation and hoping she'll go away, but she stayed now curious about what he was pondering about. So she asked Gema what she was pondering about. Gema, being to kind to say 'buzz off!' told her about moving to Ponyville. The unicorn grew a smile and told Gema how she was moving to Ponyville to live with her marefriend, Bon-Bon.
The two unicorn talked thru the entire train ride which wasn't that long. They both ended off the conversation with a funny story on how Bon-Bon and Lyra met as they got off the train. Gema looked around for a second before he spotted some electric blue over the crowd and knew that belonged to one: Vinyl Scratch. Gema turned to lyra and asked if she would like to meet her friend that he was staying with. She agreed and followed Gema towards Vinyl, Vinyl looked and acted like she knew something Gema didn't. As they reached Vinyl, Gema introduced the two.
"Vinyl, this is lyra, I met on train over here." Gema told Vinyl as she looked her up and down before responding with an uncalled for comment.
"Nice score, Gema" Gema was taken-a-back as lyra just giggled. Lyra just responded by telling Vinyl that she was a fillyfooler, she didn't like stallions. Although Lyra couldn't see it, because she didn't know Vinyl well enough to see it, Vinyl was so embarrassed. Vinyl hated touching on touchy subjects, she'll tease people, but she'll never tease people about there disability or their sexuality, not even their parents (unless it's a stupid 'YO MOMMA!' joke.) Gema hopped on all fours again and told Lyra that they had go now, saving Vinyl from any more embarrassment. Lyra said her goodbyes and turned to walk towards a pony that (from the description that was given to Gema) was her marefriend, Bon-Bon. Gema turned towards Vinyl and the two began trotting over to the other side of town where Vinyl offered Gema to stay.
The walk was mostly silent say for the rare small talk about random stuff, and that mostly consisted of: Hows it been going? or anything happened recently? Soon through, they wouldn't need small talk, they could both see Vinyl's house and they both sped up towards it. Gema speed slowly halted to a stop looking at the strange house. Vinyl noticed and stopped as well and asked what Gema was doing. Gema didn't answer still staring at the abnormal residents. The house itself was like two different people decided to split their houses in half and join them together, one side had a modern look to it with blue walls and weird shaped blue tinted windows. The second side however was the opposite have traditional windows cream colored walls and what looked like organ pipes coming out of the roof.
Vinyl clapped her hooves together and told Gema to snap out of it. Gema snapped back into reality after staring at the house for five minutes. Then, as if he couldn't control his mouth, he spat out a question he wanted to ask while in the trance of the house.
"What's with your house?" Vinyl had a suddenly had a realization and explained.
"When you room with someone you hate, you go to these lengths" Gema looked in confusion thinking Vinyl was talking about him, then as if on cue, classical music played within the house that made chills go down his spine. Gema hated classical music, its not like he found it annoying, more he found it boring. Gema turned to ask Vinyl if she had told her roommate about him, but Vinyl groaned and began saying that she thought she wouldn't be home until late that night. Gema didn't know that Vinyl had a roommate, but Gema shrugged it off, this was just another secret Vinyl had. Vinyl started walking over to her house when she stopped and looked back at Gema and made a waving gesture saying to follow her. Gema slowly trotted over to Vinyl and started to follow her.
Vinyl opened the door and was welcomed with the smell of withering wood and the sound of classical music. Gema look over to mare playing the cello, she was grey with a black mane, and Gema noticed her cutie-mark was a pink treble clef, almost like vinyl's which was a backwards musical note. Vinyl walked up to her and tap her on the shoulder, she turned with an annoyed expression, but changed to curious once she saw Gema. Vinyl tried to explain, but the mare argued with her. Gema split up the argument as it was annoying him by keeping him confused on if he was staying or if he had to found out when the next train left. The mare apologized and introduced herself.
"My name is Octavia, you are?" Gema responded immediately, "Your quite alright to stay Gema!" Octavia said thru a smile, "Vinyl, on the other hoof..." Vinyl gave her an angry look. Gema didn't know what to think about Octavia, she seemed alright, but was vicious in a argument, which made him think she could be a bitch in some scenarios. Vinyl took Gema by the hoof and dragged him towards a nearby door, Vinyl used her magic to open it then threw Gema on the ground and slamed the door behind her. Gema landed with a thud, then got up and started rubbing his head with his hoof. He looked at Vinyl and stared at her with an agitated look. Vinyl rolled her eyes and pointed to a large blue bed with wooden legs and metal bars all around it.
"That's were you'll be sleeping, you have to sleep with me because... well you've got no where else" Gema nodded to show he understood, then after he did Vinyl pointed at a door made out of wood, but was paint blue. "You've got your bathroom there, that reminds me! you need get ready, I've scheduled a table at the nearest restaurant down town! I'll let you use the bathroom first, okay!" Gema was startled by the quick explanation but went with it. As Vinyl rushed out ,most likely to inform Octavia about dinner, Gema stood up and headed for the shower.
He looked at the towel on the silver rack that almost blended in with the white wall and put his sunglasses next to it. As he lifted his head, he saw his reflection and his horrid yellow eyes, he hated his eyes, bright yellow. while at kinder-garden, all the kids teased for his yellow eyes and how he looked like a feral. So when in high school he always wore a black hat and sunglasses, only good friends like Bigg and Vinyl have seen his eyes and he wanted it to stay that way. He never wanted the experience those times again. As he got in the shower, he let the hot water flow down closed his eyes as he breathed a couple of words.
"Never again"
