Spike was currently crying to himself on the stairs of the library, having no idea what to do seeing as Twilight was no longer around. Twilight had felt sorry for him on multiple occasions, she desperately wanted to find some way of communicating with him. The large round eggs Twilight had laid earlier began to hatch, and so hundreds of small baby spiders, flooded the library, coloured almost entirely black. “You do know we have to look after the offspring now right?” Big mac asked. He had fetched twilight food on multiple occasions, which consisted mainly of insects that had been caught in the web. Twilight was thankful for this, as she had spent most of her time resting after so many mating rituals. Twilight and Big Mac started to scuttle away as quickly as they could from the flood of baby spiders, but they soon found that they were in no real danger - the spiders had no intention of killing their parents. They witnessed a solid black mass of itchy screaming death cover every surface of the library. Millions of spiders continued to swarm out of the eggs. The flood seemed to be endless. Spike lay curled up in his little dragon bed, moping. Things hadn't been the same since Twilight's disappearance, and it had been over a week since he had any decent ideas about what to do about it. He was depressed and miserable. Suddenly, he heard a scratching, high-pitched noise coming from upstairs. His curiosity overcame his melancholy and he plodded up to investigate. He was intercepted by a solid wall of spiders pouring down the stairwell, which overwhelmed him almost instantly. Spike had just enough presence of mind to scream, but doing so did nothing but allow the swarm of spiders access to his lungs and stomach. The spiders soon surrounded and trapped spike in a large cocoon. Draining his fluids for sustenance. Chapter Three: Spider DayChapter three: Spider Day All of the spiders ran away from twilight and Big Mac, they didn't know what to do because there were so many spiders. big Mac attempted to gain control of the situation: "All of you spiders are my babies! Listen to me!" He commanded. But the spiders couldn't hear him because they were making too much noise. “I'm so sorry Twilight, I tried to take care of these spiders, I'm just not cut out for the task” He moped. “There goes our last chance of normality” He thought. “Throw me into the spiders” said Twilight suddenly. “Are you sure?” He asked. She simply nodded. Big mac picked her up by her legs, and threw her at the horde of spiders. She screamed a little bit whilst she was falling, afraid for her life. Then she decided to be brave, like her dear friend Rainbow Dash, had always been. Then finally, after falling for quite some time she landed in the horde of spiders, yet they didn't know she was their mother because they were still just hatchlings. Twilight signalled to the spiders to stop, yet the spiders became confused, as they could not understand her. Big mac watched all the hatchlings carry Twilight away, and he felt the most terrible and sad emotions one could go through when losing a friend. “This is all my fault” He moped, still coming to terms with what he had done. “I have to rescue her!” He said, with his sudden new-found courage. Chapter Four: Where The Spiders AreChapter 4: Where the Spiders Are “I don’t like this” Twilight thought, she began to enter a panicked state. Big Mac threw himself into the flood of spiders still flowing through the library, and began to chase after Twilight. All the spiders ran through Ponyville, and all the other ponies were scared, they ran into their homes, slamming their doors shut behind them. All except for one pony who stood in the street. “Stop spiders!” She said and they stopped A big brown spider jumped off of her head (her mane was of a purple shade, her coat was also a grey colour, her hair was styled into a straight fashion), the spider was brown and big and made an angry click sound. She scolded the baby spiders for not listening to their mother, and the flood began to settle down. Big Mac arrived, riding a small patch of baby spiders down the street. “Twilight is that you? I’m so glad you’re OK!” He exhaled in relief. Twilight commanded all of the spiders to make their new home in the Everfree Forest, where they wouldn’t disturb Ponyville’s inhabitants. And so they did. They had also used some kind of unknown spell to revive Spike. The spider named Miriam revealed that she knew a way to restore Twilight and Big Mac back to their normal selves. Chapter Five: The Final ChapterChapter 5: The Final Chapter The spider cast a spell, and so Twilight and Big Mac were restored to their normal selves. Miriam emitted clicking sounds, which Twilight and Big Mac could no longer understand, Twilight cast a translating spell, so she could understand what was being said. “I hope you have learnt something today twilight” She said. Twilight trotted back to the library, upon opening the door, Spike jumped at her, giving her the most loving cuddle she had received in her life. “I missed you Twilight! I didn’t know what to do without you!” He stated, his sobbing now becoming more of a sniffle. “I know, I was watching you the whole time, but everything is better again now” She replied. “One last thing Spike, grab a parchment and quill, I have a message to the princess” She added. Spike hurried to where the stationary was stored, happy that he now had a role to perform. “Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that spiders are creepy, but being a spider is better than being dead. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle” The End. Chapter One: IntroThe spiders -A TROLLFIC- By ~Argembarger Edited by - DarknessNightshade It was a beautiful spring day in Equestria when Twilight Sparkle was in her library, where she lived. “Spike!” “Come here Spike!” she said. And Spike slowly walked over to her, “What do you want Twilight?” spike replied. "Spike, I need you to get me the book detailing transmutation of living organisms” She explained. “Ok”, he said, “I will get it for you”. He went over to the bookshelf to get the book for her. It was a dusty book and spike almost sneezed but he didn't. He gave the book to twilight. “Thank you Spike, you can go away now" She replied. “Ok, I have things to do anyway” and he slithered away like a dragon does. Twilight opened the book to chapter 5, and prepared the spell. She could cast the spell due to her being a unicorn, in possession of a magical horn. She cast the spell. The spell made everything eight times bigger from her perspective. "Why is everything eight times bigger?" Twilight asked. She looked at herself in a nearby mirror, realising she was now a spider. The now ‘spiderfied’ Twilight went up to the bookshelves to find the antispell to fix the mess she was now in. But she couldn't open the books or even grab them, as she was much smaller now. She had tried to grasp the book with her magic, not realising she was also lacking a horn. She tried calling over to spike to fetch the book for her, yet her voice was so quiet he could barely hear her, if at all. And then she heard a voice, well not really a voice, but it sounded like another spider! She could understand the spider clicks, which she had previously studied on for an experiment, and decided it was best to try and communicate with this other spider. A red spider appeared, "Hello twilight, uhm, why I am a spider now?” Big mac questioned. "Uh, well I cast a spell, it went wrong, and you probably got caught in the radius." She explained. “But you can fix this, right?” He replied. She racked her tiny brain, trying to come up with a solution. “I have an idea, but it requires that we initiate the mating ritual spiders do, if we can create enough eggs, maybe spike will notice us and help sort this whole mess out.” Mac suggested. “Well, I'm not exactly familiar with spider anatomy...” She stated. Embarrassed that she had overlooked such a minor detail, she was a librarian after all. “Well, we ARE spiders, I'm sure we could figure something out” He replied. “If it will get us through this mess, I'm ready when you are” She replied. Wanting to just get it over with. Big mac started to shake his abdomen, to twilight it was almost mesmerising, she too had the urge to copy his movements, and so she did. Before long, she began to lay eggs, a white, almost waxy substance protecting them.
