A Nice Heart's Warming
Bing and Breezy
Load Full StoryTwenty-Fifth of December. The happy, heartwarming season, where everypony gets along, and everypony is having a perfect time. But then there’s little Breezy. She’s just sitting at home, waiting. Waiting for her dear Bing to come home. Once and again, she’d go to the small kitchen she has in her small apartment, and check in with the food she’d been cooking. Normally she’d feel weird doing stuff like that, but has recently accepted, and started to enjoy being the ordinary housewife.
She knew Bing was gonna be late tonight, since work always was really stressful during this time of year. But she knew he’d come home eventually. It’s just a matter of time.
Breezy walked around the house, tapping her hooves on the ground impatiently, several times. She’d sometimes hear small creeks as if someone was coming up the stairs, but it always ended up simply being the wind brushing against the building’s walls. She’d been waiting for about half an hour at this point. Bing said he’d be home about one hour later tonight, but so far, it’d been one and a half, and Breezy was growing impatient.
But then she heard a knock against the wooden door to her apartment. She was confused, because normally Bing wouldn’t knock They’d been living together for a while now, and he hadn’t knocked even once before. So, she went to the door, half hopeful, half disappointed. When she opened the door, her heart stopped beating for but a moment. In the doorframe, a white stallion with a green mane and tail stood, smiling. He stretched out his hoof and said, “Good day. You’re Breezy, right?”. Breezy started blushing slightly.
“Yes, yes I am. And who may you be?”, she was never really good at keeping up a sarcastic facade, but she tried playing along anyway.
“My name is Bing. I just wanted to ask, do you have some food? Because I am starving.” Breezy laughed a little bit and grabbed the hoof with her own.
“Yes, I have plenty. I made a whole dinner for my coltfriend, but he decided to be half an hour late, so it may be kind of cold. I tried to keep it heated as much as possible, without simply burning it.”, Breezy said in a sarcastically disappointed voice. Bing could no longer resist his urge to just grab her and snuggle her, so he dismissed the small act and jumped for it. He tackled her, grabbing around her body. They both fell to the floor and tussled for a bit, but in the end, Bing was the one laying on the bottom. So there they were. Lying on the floor of their apartment, together on Heart’s Warming Eve. Both of them got a very comforting feeling in their belly, as if everything just seemed right. Breezy bowed down towards Bing’s face and kissed him directly on his lips.
Pulling back, Breezy spoke out, “I really love you, Bing. For the longest while, I thought I’d never meet someone special. I half-expected to be alone for the rest of my life. I never thought anyone would like someone like me. And I definitely did not expect someone as perfect as you to be that someone. Not too long ago, I was in a very bad state. I felt like everything around me was falling apart, but then you stepped in. We had been friends for a while, when you finally gathered up the trust you needed with me to admit to me you liked me in that way, and I don’t think I would have ever gotten over my issues had it not been for exactly that. You’re always there when I need it. Whenever I call, you’re there, whenever I need someone to hold, you’re there. And even whenever I cry… you’re right there. When I am being tough, I know you feel like quitting just as much as I do, but you don’t give up. You know there’s always a way to fix the problems we have, no matter how bad things may seem. Even before we became a couple, you were always there to give me that extra push that I needed whenever, and you always knew exactly how to make everything okay. And lately, I’ve needed you more than ever. And you’re right there every time… I love you... “.
There was a very short moment of silence before Bing pressed his head forward, kissing Breezy on the lips. “I love you too, Breezy. And trust me, I will never quit. No matter how dark times may be, I’ll always be there. You know you can always trust me. And if I am wrong about that, I will do whatever is in my power to make you believe me. To make you see how special you are to me. And yes, while I always like to step in when you’re in a bad mood, or when you’re down-right depressed, I know I can always count on you, too, if the situation is vice versa. There’s nopony in this world more precious to me than you are.”, he said after finishing the soft kiss.
After that, Bing and Breezy ate the dinner Breezy had been working on for the last few hours. After that, they went to bed together. They both lay down for a bit in their shared bed, and snuggled. Bing was the one holding around Breezy from behind, trying to keep her warm and comfortable. It worked.
