I Give!
The Challenge
Load Full StoryRainbow lazed upon a cloud above Ponyville. A pair of large, black shades covering her eyes. A light snore would escape her mouth every once and a while, signifying that she was sleeping.
She always enjoyed her cloud naps. Given the fact that her bed was made of clouds, any cloud could do it’s job with making her nap comfortable.
Speaking of naps, aside from soaring through the skies, saving the world with her friends she usually laid upon a cloud and napped. Napping was like a second hobby for Rainbow, aside from flying of course.
While she slept, a bird of some kind flew just right above her cloud. Squawking a loud squawk as it passed, ultimately waking Rainbow from her wonderful slumber.
Rainbow growled and grumbled at the bird.
“Stupid bird! Waking me from my nap. Who does he think he is anyhow?” She began to sit up. She took deep breaths, enjoying the fresh air that she inhaled. She turned and dangled her legs from the edge of the cloud.
“Huh… Neat.” She commented before stretching her arms and back. A loud yawn escaping her mouth.
“Whelp… Now what? I’m awake, and Celestia knows I can’t go back to sleep. Thanks to a certain bird!” She shouted looking towards wherever the bird flew towards. “I wonder if any of my friends are free…” With the thought, Rainbow arose from her sitting position, now standing atop the cloud. She outstretched her wings and cracked her knuckles. She stretched her legs and arms. Once loosened up, she was ready to take the dive.
With a leap, she dove down as if she were to dive into water. The wind rushing into her face felt; in her words, awesome. As the ground quickly approached, she outstretched her wings and began to lift into the air. With a strong flap of her cyan wings, she completely took off soaring.
“Alright… First stop is, Twilights. Let’s see what the egghead’s up to.” She said to herself. She quickened her flying and began zooming towards Twilight’s palace.
Almost within seconds, Twilight’s castle was visible. Rainbow smirked when an interesting idea popped into her mind.
“Time for some hardcour parkour!” She exclaimed as she shot towards the tops of the crystal palace. In a matter of seconds, she ceased her flapping wings and got ready to land atop the shiny tree castle.
She held out her gloved hands and prepared for the landing.
Whether it be pure luck, or she’s practiced for this such incident, she merely made it by grabbing onto the balcony railings. She hoisted herself over the railings and began to run to the other end of the yellow balcony.
She furrowed her brows and wore a serious face. She kicked up a leg onto the railings and leaped over to a window cutout. Climbing to the side, she hopped onto the other yellow balcony. Like before, she hoisted herself over the railings.
Now standing on the main balcony, she stood idle, trying to regain her balance. After a few seconds of just standing, she raised her arms in victory. As she lowered her arms, she pulled out a small slip of paper from within her bra cup.
She unfolded it to reveal a small list of buildings. She fished out a pen from her pockets and clicked it.
“Alright… Twi’s palace is down.” She said as she checked off a square that was drawn next to the words, ‘Twilight’s Palace’
The list itself read,
Parkour List.
[X] Sugarcube Corner
[X] AJ’s Barn/Home
[ ] Building Tops of Town Square
[X] My Home
[ ] Twilight’s Tree Home
[X] Twilight’s Palace
“Sweet, just one more!” Rainbow said as she folded up the small bit of paper and placed it back into her bra. With a click of the pen, she slipped it back into her pocket and went towards the double glass doors that opened into Twilight’s study.
Rainbow placed her hands over her eyes to peer into the windows without any glare. She found Twilight’s study empty and dark.
“Hm, she’s almost always in here…” Rainbow muttered. She then let off the glass doors, and turned to approach the yellow railings. She grasped them and leaped over them, as she approached the ground she spread her wings so she could landing with grace.
As she landed, she cringed.
“Gah, ankle sting, ankle sting!” She said with a hiss. Shaking it off the pain, she made her way to the front doors. Where she was met with a small note. Rainbow read it aloud.
“Out to Canterlot? Be back soon?” Rainbow sounded frustrated.
“Oh well… I guess I’ll have to check up with Pinkie then.” Rainbow said, cutting her losses. She then took off towards Sugarcube Corner.

After a short while of flying, she landed right in front of the small restaurant's doors. She approached the doors and opened them. The bell that hung above the door jingled as she entered.
“Pinkie? You here?” Rainbow called out.
Pinkie’s head popped out through the kitchen door. She welcomed Rainbow with a wide smile.
“Oh, hey Dash! What’re you doing here? What can I do for you?” Pinkie asked excitedly.
“Ah, I’m good. Hey, you free for a bit? I’m bored.”
“Sorry Dashie, I really, really wish I could but I’m a little busy with the twins.” As if it were scripted, the sound’s of Pumpkin’s cries could be heard.
“Please excuse me…” Pinkie said.
Rainbow waited as Pinkie pulled back into the kitchen. The sound of a bag ripping open followed by two sets of baby laughter. Pinkie popped back out, covered in flour.
“Like I said… Really busy! Busy as a bee. Buzz buzz goes me!” Pinkie exclaimed.
“Yeah…” Rainbow said as she laughed a fake laugh. “Well, I guess I’ll see you later.” Rainbow said as she walked towards the front door.
“Alright, bye bye Dashie!” Pinkie waved goodbye. The sound of cries could be heard. “Oh come on! Pumpkin! Let go of Pounds wings!” Pinkie shouted as she charged into the kitchen.
Rainbow smirked and rolled her eyes as she exited the establishment.
“Well, who’s next?” Rainbow asked herself. Another friend popped into her mind, two actually. Getting an idea, she checked her watch. But grumbled at the reveal of the time and day.
“Flutters and Rarity are on their spa thing… I guess that leaves Applejack.” Rainbow said. With that, she took off towards Sweet Apple Acres.
~***~
Rainbow circled the apple farm for a couple minutes before finding Applejack kicking at an apple tree. A large wooden basket sitting next to her.
With a smirk, Rainbow divebombed towards AJ, yet landed perfectly on her feet, surprising Applejack in the process.
AJ jumped back and yelped.
“Heh, scaredy cat!” Rainbow teased.
“Yeah, maybe ‘cause you’re flyin’ down like a damn kamikaze bomber!” Applejack said angrily.
“Whatever. So, whatcha doin’?” Rainbow asked curiously.
“Uh… Apple kickin’. Like Ah always do during Spring. What else would Ah be doin’?” Applejack asked with a raised brow.
“I don’t know. I was just hoping you’d be free for a while. I’m bored!” Rainbow complained.
“Rainbow, it’s Spring. Ah got a lot of work to do. I don’t have any time to play ‘round! Now, Ah gotta get to work.” AJ said as she turned to face the same tree she was kicking at.
“Aw c’mon AJ! I just want to hang out! Twi’s visiting Canterlot, Pinkie’s busy with the twins and Rarity’s at the spa with Fluttershy. Can you just please hang out?” Rainbow begged.
“You’re that bored huh? Where you’d begin beggin’?” Applejack said flatly.
“You could only imagine…” Rainbow replied.
With a sigh, Applejack turned back to Rainbow.
“Alright, what’d you have in mind?” She asked. Rainbow raised a pointed finger, happy at first, but then flatlined when she realized something.
‘I don’t have any idea of what I want to do...’
“I, do not know…” Rainbow said as she lowered her finger.
“Hm, figures. C’mon Dash I gotta work! Maybe some other time.” Applejack turned back to the apple tree and gave it one mighty kick, five to seven apples fell as a result.
‘C’mon Dash, think, think, think!’ Before Rainbow could get a headache from straining her underused brain, she finally got an idea.
“Wait! I got an idea!” Rainbow exclaimed.
“You’re gonna leave and find somethin’ to do yourself?” Applejack guessed.
“No. Let’s play a game of Mercy!” Rainbow cheered.
“Mercy?”
“Yeah! It’s like Uncle, only… Only… You say Mercy?” Rainbow guessed.
“Really?” Applejack asked as she gave Rainbow the ‘You-can’t-be-serious’ face.
“Wait, I remembered! So what you do is you take each other’s hands and you try to push each other’s back to try to get the other person to say mercy.” Rainbow informed.
“Oh, Ah gotcha.” Applejack said.
“Yeah, so you wanna play me?” Rainbow asked.
Applejack took off her stetson hat and scratched her scalp. Placing her hat back on, she asked,
“Let’s make it a little more interestin’”
“I’m down with interesting!”
“If Ah win… You gotta help me kick this trees here, without yer wings o’ course… Oh, and in a bikini and I get to record it!” Applejack said with a devilish grin.
“Alright, seems fair, and if I win?” Rainbow asked while trying to hide her blush.
“If you win, I work in the bikini and you get to record the whole thing.”
Rainbow thought.
‘If I win… I could record AJ working in a bikini! Oh just imagine what chaos I could do!’ Rainbow smiled. But then flat faced. ‘If she wins… Then I wear the bikini! Oh man, my rep will be ruined!’ Rainbow bit her fingernails before she smirked once more. ‘Oh who am I kidding? I’ll win for sure.’ With that Rainbow was ready.
“Alright, if yer done soul serchin, I’d like to win and be done now!” Applejack said, getting impatient.
“Yeah yeah, I’m ready!” Rainbow snapped. Rainbow walked up to Applejack and held up her hands, waiting for AJ to grab them. As predicted, Applejack grasped Rainbow’s hands.
‘Oh man! Her hands are huge! God, my hands are baby hands compared to her gorilla hands!’ Rainbow stressed. ‘Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea...’
“Alright, you ready?” Applejack asked.
“Always!” Rainbow said trying to hide her nervousness with arrogance. Before she knew it, Applejack was pushing back on her hands, making them bend as far as she could bear.
“Gah! Mercy, mercy!!” Rainbow exclaimed.
“Alright. Ah win.” Applejack said flatly.
“Hey! I wasn’t ready!” Rainbow excused.
“You said you were!” Applejack replied.
“Best outta three!” Rainbow said with a snarl.
“Yer on Pride Flag…” Applejack teased.
~***~
About ten trials of Rainbow losing later, Applejack wasn’t having any more fun with Rainbow’s constant excuses. From ‘she wasn’t ready’ to ‘the sun being in her eyes’ it was getting ridiculous. Not only that, Applejack was beginning to worry about Rainbow’s wrists. Her hands hung limp and almost lifeless.
“Dammit…” Rainbow hissed. “Best outta-”
“Best outta nothin’ Dash! You lose, Ah win. Game over. Look at yer wrists girl, they’re practically broken!” Applejack exclaimed.
“Tis merely but a minor injury is all…” Rainbow said with an old Equestrian accent.
“Please Rainbow, don’t do this to yerself. You’re hurtin’ yer hands. Look, you lost. That’s fine.” Applejack said as she put a hand on Rainbow’s shoulder. “So that means Ah want you here tomorrow mornin’ at the crack o’ dawn! Wearin’ yer best bikini sister!” Applejack cackled.
Rainbow sighed. She wasn’t good with accepting defeat but, in this case she was glad to. Her wrists were close to snapping off.
“Alright… I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.” Rainbow said in a defeated voice. With that, Rainbow flew off. Leaving Applejack alone.
When Rainbow was far enough, Applejack began to dance around.
“I get to see RD in a bikini! I get to see RD in a bikini!” She chanted. “Oh! I should check if we even own a camera!” With that, Applejack ran off to see if her family owned the piece of technology.
