Trust Me, I Know What I'm Doing
The Trip
Load Full Story"Won't that be fun?" Ditzy asked her family. Sparkler looked up from her magazine and shrugged.
"Quite the adventure, I say. I think it will be a good family bonding time, yes?" The Doctor cheered. Dinky was practically jumping up and down and around her brother Serenity Muffin.
"Ohmigosh! I love the great outdoors! It'll be so fun Mom and Dad!" she exclaimed.
"I think it will be really cool!" Serenity stated.
"Sparkler, you haven't been talking much, what's your view on this event?" The Doctor asked his teenage daughter.
"Meh. I like to chill, but camping sounds cool, too," Sparkle said. The Doctor frowned. He walked up to Serenity.
"I say, boy! You have a zit on your forehead!" The Doctor exclaimed.
"I don't see any-" Ditzy was cut off by her husband's glare.
"You're turning into a teenager like you older sister! Maybe this week will be a good chance for you two to bond!" The Doctor exclaimed. He pushed Serenity over to Sparkler.
"Dinky, Pipsqueak and Tootsie Flute will be there! Maybe you guys can hang out, as they say," The Doctor said, hugging Dinky. Dinky squealed and jumped higher.
"So excited for Saturday! So excited for Saturday!" Dink chanted, with her happy sing-song voice.

"Pipsqueak! Pipsqueak!" Octavia called for her son, irritation clearly showing in her voice. "I swear, Vinyl, this is the third time this week that colt has gone off, basically out of existence!"
Vinyl chuckled and shook her head. She walked over to her wife and put her hoof around her.
"Relax, Octie! He's probably Skyping his filly friend," Vinyl said. Octavia made a rage face.
"That colt doesn't have a filly friend! They're just really good friends!" Octie exclaimed. Vinyl laughed at how stressed Octavia was.
"It's fine, Octie! I'm just fooling you," Vinyl laughed and walked up the steps of their home.
"Pippy! Come on, we're leaving!" Vinyl called. The young colt dashed out of his room.
"Coming mom!" he said. He trotted down the steps, side-by-side with his mom.
"What were you doing in their, boy?" Vinyl asked.
"Playing Minecraft. A very entertaining game. You have to try to survive. You spawn into a world with nothing but your fur!" Pipsqueak squealed.
"Cool."
"Pipsqueak Scratch! You know how I am with timing. By this rate Ditzy will be there before us!" Octavia snarled.
"Sorry, mother," Pip said.
He grabbed his backpack and walked outside to the coach with his mother and mom.

"Tootsie Flute!" Lyra called. She looked at her pregnant wife, BonBon carrying the bags.
"No,no,no Bonny!" Lyra stated, "You're pregnant! I'll carry the bags!"
"This isn't my first pregnancy, Lyra," BonBon snapped. "I'm fine."
"I know but you're due in a month! Little Peppermint in there could come out soon, and your belly's as big as a balloon!" Lyra exclaimed.
"Gee, thanks," BonBon said.
"Mommy! Momma! I'm here! I just was packing my arts stuff," Tootsie Flute exclaimed.
"Let's get in the coach!" Lyra cheered. And off they went.

"Oh, dear I do think we are quite early," The Doctor said, looking up from his watch to the empty lot in the middle of the forest. "Ditzy, is this the right place?"
"Yes, Doc," Ditzy said, handing the map to The Doctor, "Hm... yes I see. Well, best time to set up our tent. Now how do you work with these hoofs..."
"What's that, dad?" dinky asked.
"Nothing! Nothing!" The Doctor exclaimed. Dinky looked puzzled, but then happily helped with her magic.
"Sparkler, help your sister, please. You two are unicrons," The Doctor said. Sparkler groaned and went to help Dinky.
"We're here!" Lyra sung.
"Lyra! BonBon!" Ditzy said, hugging her two friends.
"Tootsie!" Dinky said, hugging her friend.
"Woo. That hill was BIG," BonBon said, wiping sweat from her brow.
"It was only two feet high, momma!" Tootsie chuckled.
"Well, Momma has your little sister in her tummy and that's a few good pounds on her belly. It's harder for her to climb up things," Lyra explained.
"Oh, dear, Vinyl! I told you we'd be late if our son dilly-dallied around!" Octavia exclaimed. She dropped her bags. Vinyl took the camping supplies out with her magic and sighed.
"Octie, you've been complaining all day. Look! Ditzy and Doc just got their tent set up, and Lyra and BonBon are working on theirs, so we are just in time!" she snapped. Pipsqueak left his mothers and trotted to Doctor Whooves.
"I was working on my hoofball. Maybe we could play with Seren, too?" Pip asked.
"Sure!" The Doctor exclaimed. Pip beamed.

"Okay, ladies and gentelcolts, I have a plan," The Doctor declared.
"You always have a plan..." Sparkler grumbled, her attention more to her tablet then to her father.
"What, little missy?" The Doctor asked.
"Nothing!" Sparkler said, putting on an Applejack lying face.
"ANYway, "The Doctor cleared his throat. "I have an exciting plan. Tonight, we get here... which we did, so check! Next we'll go swimming in the lake over there," he pointed to the lake that looked to be only ten or fifteen feet away, "Then, when it gets colder, we'll make a bonfire, eat hot carrots, hay burgers, and s'mores... then afterward the children will catch fireflies while some of us adults will go to bed. The next morning, we'll have a day-long hike. I packed water canteens for everypony, so if you already brought one you can have one!"
"Oh, thank Celestia. I'll need three to survive," BonBon sighed.
"Well, BonBon," The Doctor explained, "I was thinking you and could stay at camp with your wife."
"Yes, that would be easier," Lyra agreed.

"OK children, Allons-y!" The Doctor said, heading toward the water. Dinky, Pip, and Tootsie jumped in, floaties attached to their front hoofs.
"Stay in the booey boundaries," Ditzy warned. Vinyl didn't hesitate to jump off the dock and swim up to Pipsqueak. She grabbed her son by the hips and threw him in the air. He fell and hit the water with a huge splash.
"Mom!" He exclaimed, splashing Vinyl with the water. She threw her sunglasses to Octavia at the beach.
"Come join us, Tavie!" Vinyl said.
"Yes, do join us mother!" Pip exclaimed. Octavia sighed.
"I'd rather stay on the beach and work a tan with BonBon and Ditzy," Octavia stated. Vinyl rolled her eyes.
"Not even one swim?" Pip asked. He put out his bottom lip and made puppy-dog eyes.
"Look at the kid's eyes!" Vinyl exclaimed. Octavia smiled warmly.
"Yes, he's a cutie, isn't he? Now let me tan!" Octavia said.
"No, missy!" Vinyl said, grabbing her wife's front hoofs and pulling her in the water with their son. Octavia went down in the water for a little bit, only five or six seconds, then Vinyl's strong hoofs picked her up and she stared her wife in the eyes.
"I would never let you drown," Vinly whispered. Octavia put her hoof on her wife's cheeks.
"I am so lucky to have a mare like you. i love you, Mrs. Scratch," Octavia nuzzled her wife.
"And I love you Mrs. Scratch," Vinyl said. There lips met, and they moaned at the pleasure of each other's warmth.
"A-hem!" Pip exclaimed, "You're son is watching you make-out!" He splashed water in his mothers' direction.
"Oh! I got lake water in my mouth!" Octavia yelped.
"Nopony splashes my wife and gets away with it!" Vinyl said in a playful way, charging over to her son. Pip squealed and was picked up once more by his mom. "Where should I throw the scoundrel, Tavie?"
"To the bottom of the ocean, Vinyl!" Octavia exclaimed. Vinyl threw Pip in the air, and he plopped safely into the water and floated back up. The small family laughed and had a water fight.
Dinky was splashing with her father and brother in the water.
"Dad, look!" Serenity Muffin called.
"Looking, son!"
Serenity jumped high off the dock and did a front flip and landed with a huge splash.
"Bravo! Bravo!" The Doctor clapped and Dinky clapped as well.
"I can do something too Daddy!" Dinky called, jumping off the dock and doing a 360 into the water.
"Very nice, love!" Doc exclaimed. Dinky bowed in the water.
Ditzy flew overhead, with sun tan lotion in her mouth. She put it in her hoofs.
"Serenity! Dinky! You forgot to put on lotion!" Ditzy called. The two hesitantly got up on the dock and rubbed lotion on themselves.
"Ditzy, come swim!" the Doctor called.
"Doc, I'm gonna talk with Lyra and--" she was cut off when the Doctor grabbed her tail and pulled her in the water.
"Doc!" she teased playfully at his hair.
"Remember when we met, Ditzy?" He asked his cross-eyed companion.
"Met? More like the TARDIS crashing into my garage and you yelling, 'I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm a mad pony with a box!'" Ditzy said. The Doctor smiled.
"And you're parents? They where like, 'A Doctor marrying Ditzy! Absurd! She's nothing but a mail-mare!'" The Doctor said.
"And you said I'm worth more than that," Ditzy played with the Doctor's wet, dark brown hair and she pushed her hoofs around his arms. The had swum over to the shallow end, so their hoofs touched the wet sand below. "Do you still think that of me, Doc?"
"I kept my word," Doctor said. Their lips touched, and their soft and innocent kiss lasted for two minutes.
"Daddy! Mommy! Ew!" Dinky closed her eyes and gagged.
"Mom, Dad, seriously NOT the time!" Serenity covered the scene with his hoof.
"You two know nothing about love," Ditzy splashed water at her younger daughter and her son. The family started to have a small water fight.
"Sparkler get in here!" the Doctor yelled.
"Eeeenope!" Sparkler said in a Big macintosh voice. Doc frowned.
"Sparkler Whooves!" The Doctor got up and threw his daughter on his back.
"Daaaad!" Sparkler complained. He threw her off his back and into the water.
"Not funny!" she snapped. The family giggled and on cue splashed Sparkler.
The little family giggled and lay floating on the water, staring as the sky changed from crystal blue into a light shade of orange and purple...
"Mom! Everyone's having a family moment but us!" Tootsie complained.
