//-------------------------------------------------------// Socially Awkward -by Georgia_Awkward- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue This has got to be my talent i say to myself at i am running towards the edge, if my cousin can do this then maybe i can do it aswell, i leap of the edge of the cliff and fly up high into the clouds until i can't see the ground. I stretch my wings out so they arn't to stiff, ok they are good, i then instantly darted downwards as fast as my wings could go, i start to see the boundary round me about to break the sound barrier but i then hear somepony shout my name "MOONLIGHT!!!". The yelling caused me to loose concentration making me stop and instantly bounce off the sound barrier and i got flung across the sky. "AAAHHHHHH" i screamed as i landed with a giant thud,  i chipped my big tooth as i crashed "ow" i said as i rubbed my head i then looked up to see my cousin standing there with a cross look on her face "What are you doing Moonlight, you could have been killed" i could see the discust in her eyes which were staring through my soul. I looked at the ground and cried out "i'm sorry Rainbow, i was try to earn my cutie mark", Rainbow put her hoof on my shoulder so i looked up to see her sadly looking down at me "moonlight look, we all know you arn't a good flyer so why are you attemping a sonic rainboom, you can't fly nearly that fast". She sounded disappointed which i can understand, "b but, you can do the sonic rainboom" i asked as i weeped, Rainbow sighed "but Moonlight, your not me, you shouldn't try and be somepony your not". She does make a good point, but i've tried everything else to get a cutiemark and nothing worked "oh rainbow, if flying fast isn't my talent then what is, i'm 16 years old and i still haven't got mine and i'm getting sick of trying".  Rainbow stopped me "woh woh woh, slow down, i thought i told you before, it doesn't matter when you get your cutiemark, so what if you haven't got yours yet, it might mean that the world is saving the best cutiemark for you, the best cutiemarks are the ones that come to the ponies who wait" i guess rainbows right. I did a long sigh as i got up off the ground and began to smile "Are you sure" i asked, Rainbow had a sympathetic smile "of course i'm sure and don't you forget it" i had a big smile as i flung my arms round rainbow, i guess she's right, my cutiemark will come one day and it will be the best cutie mark ever. Rainbow suddenly stopped hugging me and cringed "uh enough of that sappy stuff, i uh got to go move some clouds, see ya later cuz" she then zoomed up into the clouds, thats my cousin, can't handle the least bit of sappiness i giggled as i stared at the clouds. I then heard another pony call my name "moonlight" it was my best friend Derpy, "hi Derpy" i said happily as i walked over to give her a hug, Derpy giggled "what you doing all the way out here, oh my goodness" Derpy suddenly jumped and looked at the chip in my big tooth. Derpy started to freak out "oh my goodness, Moonlight how did you get that chip in your tooth, did something awful happen to you" i smiled and calmed her down "Derpy its ok, i just fell and chipped my tooth its no big deal". Derpy then turned back to happy and started jumping about as she always does "oh good, shall we go to sugarcube corner then, pinkie pie has a new muffin recipe she thinks i'll like"  i nodded and followed her back to town, Derpy always finds a way to make me smile.                                                                                                                  *      *       *       * "there's something about that pony that gives me bad vibes,i just don't no why, she's just a stupid little pony with no talent, she must have more love than i thought" somepony slams the door open "my queen, the love meter for equestria is full"  i felt a grin come onto my face "ha ha perfect, with that much love i will easily able to take over but before the plan can get into full force i must get rid of the pink princess, no one will suspect a thing ha ha ". //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 3 Years Later Ok so this cable will go here and this cable will go here maybe *flash* a spark made a small explosion causing me to jump back in surprise "ok that didn't work" i said slowly walking back to the screen, oh come on something has got to work, maybe there's a broken piece somewhere *Knocking sound*. Oh come on i don't have time for socialising , i really don't wanna see people today, *knock* can't they take the hint get lost, i opened the door to see Derpy smiling at me "Hey moonlight, i haven't seen you in days, what you been up to" she said as she walked into my house, I don't want to be rude so i just went along with it i might aswell ask her what shes doing here though "so Derpy, what brings you here". Derpy looked around the room before answering "well i haven't seen you in a while so i thought i would come and check up on you, oh and i like your new style" wow have i been in my house for this long also i don't think my style has changed that much. Derpy does confuse me sometimes "what do you mean by new style" i asked, maybe she just hasn't seen me in so long that she forgot what i look like "oh same old Moonlight, trying to confuse me as always, i was talking about your cool shirt" oh right she's talking about my black clothes. To be honest they arn't that great but i might aswell accept the compliment "oh ye thx, i quite like it too" i smiled which made Derpy smile even more. I don't really no what to say, i don't want to make things awkward, oh great Derpy's looking confused, say something  "uh Derpy would you like a drink" i offered, Derpy continuted to smile "that would be great but i have a better idea, why don't we go outside and go get some muffins, i love muffins " oh i don't no, i hate going outside, its just full of ponies who will just judge me as soon as they look at me, Derpy was looking confused again "uh i don't no Derpy" her smile turned in a frown, oh no i can't bare to see her like that "Derpy wait, ok i'll go but only for a little bit Derpy jumped for joy "yay, why we still here then, lets go get muffins yay" she jumped to the door and i slowly walked behind her. Once i had locked my house door we were off to a cafe, so far no one has come up to us, it looks like i won't have to talk to anyone except for Derpy but it is taking longer to get there than i thought " Derpy how long till we actually get there " still smiling Derpy replied "oh its just at sugarcube corner" oh i rememer going there as a filly. As we just had sugarcube corner in our sights a Pinkie Pie came bouncing over to us "HEY DERPY, HEY MOONLIGHT" both Derpy and Pinkie got really excited and i just stayed out of the conversation, "what you guys up to " Pinkie asked, i let Derpy answer "we're going to sugarcube corner to get some muffins". Pinkie pie gasped "oh my goodness thats so weird, i was going to sugarcube corner too" Pinkie looked at me for a reply but i just awkwardly smiled slightly. I think i made Pinkie feel awkward because she pretended to laugh "ha ha uh right, i gotta go see you later Derpy, i hope to speak to you soon moonlight" Pinkie pie walked away leaving me to think, why moonlight you have just made her feel so awkward you shouldn't be in society. Derpy was staring at me "come on moonlight sugarcube corner is right there lets race" Derpy started to fly and i didn't wanna make things more awkward so i just went along with it but i let Derpy win. "ha ha i win" Derpy cheered with delight, i just smiled  "welldone Derpy, now lets go get some food cause i'm starving" Derpy cheered again and ran inside with me behind her, i love how excited she gets over muffins. Derpy went straight to the counter and looked at the muffins "oh i don't no what muffin to go for, what do you think moonlight" i just simply replied "i don't no Derpy, just go with what you feel like" Derpy continuted to look for about 10 minutes. Derpy eventually went for a blueberry muffin and i just went for a chocolate cupcake, Derpy paid and then we both went out side to find a bench to sit on which wasn't hard to find because there was one right outside.                                                                                                        *           *          *           * Once Derpy finished her muffin there was a streak of rainbow going through the air, oh god no not her, i tried to hide but of course Derpy started to yell "hey moonlight look its rainbow dash,HEY RAINBOW DASH" rainbow stopped flying and flew down to me and Derpy. "oh hey Derpy, h- oh my gosh moonlight, haven't seen you in a while where you been hiding" i didn't say anything and just hid under the table, Rainbow looked under the table and asked "whats up moonlight, your not still bumbed out about your cutiemark are you". Oh great i wasn't even thinking about that, i was starting to enjoy myself and now Rainbow has to remind me of why i shut myself away "i just don't want to talk that much today". Rainbow huffed "Moonlight i can read you like a daring do book, you have to cut it out with the self esteem issues" she doesn't get it, it's not that easy to just cut it out "but Rainbow you don't understand what it is like to not have a cutie mark at 19" i was about to say something else when princess Twilight ran over to us and appolised "sorry everypony, you just go back to what you were doing" she then looked over to Rainbow and demanded in a worried tone "Rainbow you have to come with me". Rainbow excused herself "sorry cuz gotta go, i'll talk to ya later" and then Rainbow and Twilight flew off, why can't she take this seriously for once except for just flying off because it's "too sappy", this is why i don't like her.
