Devil inside.
Prologue
Load Full StoryChapter 1
Rain. It's the one thing that made me calm. He one thing that I can lose my self in. Pulling up my hoodie, I wrap my legs around the banister and hang myself upside down. Peering down, to up in my case, I look at the other students walking around campus. 'Their running to get back to their homes I guess.' I thought to myself as I continued to look at them from afar.
"Miki-chan!" An annoyingly high pitch voice calls from above. Looking in between my skirt my friend, Maeko-chan, is standing in the doorway to the stairs that leads to the roof. "Come inside! You'll catch a cold." She says to me. She's always like this. Talking to me like I was a fragile child, god it pisses me off. But I can't stay mad at her.
"Do I have to, Mae?" I should tell you what she looks like, huh? She has beautiful, platinum blond hair, a wonderful hourglass figure, steel blue eyes and a lot of freckles on her face. It makes me jealous. Of course she knows that I'm a ghoul. And that's one of the things that mystify me about her. Even though I could kill her in a heartbeat, and eat her, she still trusts me. Treats me like a friend.
"Yes! Now get in here missy!" She shouts while she points, fearfully, at the ground. I grunt and fling my self upwards, landing on my feet a few feet away from Meako-chan. I grumble and walk towards her.
"What are you, my mom?" I groan at her as I pass by her. We walked down the stairs together.
"Well, if you keep acting like is I guess I'll have to be." She replies with a smile. A few moments pass and we break into a laughing fit. After we stop laughing, she reaches into her jacket and pull out a small brown package. "You hungry?" She asks as she waves the package in front of my face.
"Meako!" I shout as I grab the package in her hand and hide it. "Are you crazy?! What if you were caught with this?" I know it was meat. Human meat. She just shrugs and looks forward.
"Like I care. Your my friend, and you'll hate yourself if you where hungry and you had to kill and eat a human." She said as her face took the form of sadness. "I was just trying to help." She added.
"Ugh, goddammit." I mutter to myself before pulling her into a hug. "Listen, thank you for this. But you need to be more careful. What if one of those pricks, the doves, found you in possession of human meat? You would be killed." I lift her head up so she could look me in the eye. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you."
"I know, thanks." She smiles before blushing and looking away. Probably in embarrassment. I always thought she was cute when she was like this. And before you ask, I'm Bi. So there. We walkout into a corridor of the university and turn left. My reflection bounces off on the glass. Some of my red hair hung in my face while most of it was turned into a pony-tail. I had cherry red classes and light emerald eyes. We're both in uniform and my bag is hung on my right shoulder by its strap.
"I should cut my hair. I like it much better short." I say to my self as we continue to walk. I liked it short. It meant that there would be less hair slapping me in the face while I was running. Anyway, I shake my head and pull up my hoodie again while Mea opens up her umbrella, that I just now noticed, and walked out into the pouring rain.
"Hey, you want to come over?" Meako-chan asks me. "My parents won't be back in at least a week so you can eat that there." She said as she pointed at the package. I think to myself of the different possibilities as to why she wants me to come over. But I quickly push down what I'm thinking and nod.
We made our way to her house fairly quickly. Well, her house was just across from the university actually, but it was still quite a walk. We chatted about the usual things we talk about. Our studies, how we were doing in them, what we were doing in them, porn. You know the usual stuff. Anyway, as we walk into her house she switches on the lights, feeds her cat and dog and goes directly into the kitchen. Seeing as I don't need to cook my food, I walked into her gaming room/eating room, or as she likes to call it, the den. I then took a seat on her couch and waited.
A few moments later and the hunger is starting to eat away at me. My left eye turned black and my pupil are red. Yes, before you ask, I'm a one-eyed ghoul. Legandery and dangerous. Veins spread from my eye and down my face. Maeko walks in to the room with a burger and some chips but stops as she sees me shaking a little. "Miki?" I look at her, eyes twitching slightly. "You don't have to wait for me, go ahead." The moment she said that, I tore into the package and ate the meat. Meako-chan just sighed and shook her head before she sat down across from me and took a bite out of her burger.
I never found out why this doesn't disgust her. I continue to eat the meat until it's finished and I look at her. "Why can't I be human." I say before falling onto the back of the couch.
"Your half aren't you?" She said to me. I look over to her before lying down on the couch, my legs hanging over the arm rest.
"Yeah but, I just want to eat what you eat." I say as I stare up at the celling. She quickly finishes her food off before crawling over to me.
"I don't know. I thought that you would love to eat humans." I sigh and look at her, my eye returning to 'normal'.
"I don't love eating them. Hell, even the thought of eating a human makes me sick. But I have too, otherwise I'll end up eating the first one I see." I sigh and close my eyes, listening to the rain.
"Hey, I'm going to go get something for you." She stands up and walks back into the kitchen. She rummages through something and returns with a box. She places the box onto the ground and opens it. "Surprise! A years worth of meat, courtesy of anteiku. They all have a special chip in the bags that keeps the meat cold so it won't rot."
I smile and pull out a packet, looking at it briefly before throwing it back in. "Heh, thanks Meako-chan. I appreciate it." I fold the flaps of the box back over and tape it shut. "I swear if you got caught with this, you would of been killed."
"I know, but I wouldn't be caught." I sigh and facepalm before lying backdown.
"Your such a Baka, Meako." I say. We begin to laugh shortly after. Suddenly a light shines from outside that blinds us both. "What the hell is that!" I shout with a desperate attempt to find Meako-chan. I find her and grab her shoulder. The light intensified before cutting out completely.
We both started to groan. Apparently, we were on the ground. I don't know about Meako-chan, but my head is killing me. I cracked an eye open, only to see a wooden floor. "Oooooow!" Meako shouted as she sprang up from the ground and clutching her head. I sat up with a hand on my face and looked around. We where in a building made of wood. No stone, metal, etc. There was rows upon rows of shelves, and on those shelves were tones of books all stacked up on each other.
"Oh! It worked! I can't believe it worked!" I turned at the sound of the voice as Meako was still clutching her head in pain. There was a......unicorn. Her coat was a bright shade of purple, her mane and tail was a blackish, blue with a dark purple and bright pink stripes running down it. She had beautiful amethyst eyes and a pink star with smaller white stars surrounding it on her....flank?
I elbowed Meako in the side. "Ow! What was that for!" She said before I pointed towards the unicorn.
"*ahem* Hello, my name is twilight sparkle. And I guess your here to help with our ghoul probl-" she was cut off as Meako darted from the ground and towards the pony before she wrapped her arms around the pony and pulled her up.
"Oh my god! Miki-chan! It's a pony! A talking pony! And she's a unicorn as well!" I sigh and facepalm. Suddenly the door bursts open and another pony walks into the room. She was a cyan blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail. She has reddish eyes and a cloud with a rainbow lightning strike underneath.
"Hey Twi. Listen could I-" she stopped mid sentence as she saw Meako holding 'Twi' in her arms. "Twilight!" She opened her wings and took off like a rocket. Leavening a rainbow trail behind her. I only had a few seconds to react, but I stepped in front of her, caught her hooves, spun around and threw her the other way.
"Now listen, this is a big misunderstand-" I was cut off as two hooves collided with my face. I closed my eyes as my head was flung backwards slightly. The blue pony landed with a gasp w the fact that I was still standing. I straitened back up and opened my eyes. "Do that again." My left eye turned black and my pupil turned red. "I dare you."
Her eyes widened. "Now just hold on Rainbow Dash!" 'Twilight' said as she disappeared and reappeared in front of us, facing 'Rainbow Dash.' "These beings are here to help us." She turned to look at me as my eye returned to 'normal.' Luckily, she didn't notice it.
"Help us!? Can't you see, she's a ghoul!" Rainbow Dash shouted at me as she prepared to fight me again. Meako-chan stepped in front of me with her arms stretched out in a protective manner.
"How dare you! Miki-chan is not a ghoul! She's my best friend and I think she would of told me if she was one!" My eyes widened in surprise as Meako glared at Rainbow Dash. "And if you even try and hurt her again, I'll hurt you." She said in a low tone. When she says stuff in that tone of voice, it always sends a shiver down my spine.
I grabbed her by the ear. "Ow, ow! Stop! Miki-chan stop!" She struggled in my grip as I pulled her over to a couch and forced her to sit down. "Humpf, fine." She said in a grump. I sat on he arm rest. Hoof rest? I don't really care. "Since I know she won't talk to you much, I guess I'll answer all your questions and vice versa."
Twilight trotted over, along with a hesitant Rainbow Dash. "Why not?" Twilight asked as she sat in front of us.
"She doesn't talk to those she doesn't trust or those she only just met. Don't ask why, she just has trust issues." I looked at her with a scowl. She simply rolled her eyes. "She'll talk to you if she has to though."
"Ah." Twilight nodded her head. "Okay, question one."
