Book One: Of Blood and Toasters - Ch1 - Enter the Blast Sisters
Equestria... a land of friendship and magic, a land where peace reigned... well not anymore.
Equestria was destroyed... destroyed in a war over two hundred years ago. This war was fought between two massive forces, Equestria, and the Zebra Nation. Equestria went through an industry boom, creating new weapons and ways to protect their country from hostile forces. The Zebras likewise did the same. Relations between the two neighboring countries was already strained from attempted assassinations, foalnappings, and confusion and greed.
This would all spark a war between the two, a war that would end only in bloodshed. The two fought each other, lives were lost on both sides and eventually... it ended... in just two hours time, billions were killed from the launch of weapons known as Megaspells. A weapon created by the Ministries to end the war, only it ended everything else instead.
But thankfully, hundreds, if not thousands of ponies took shelter, in what we know... as Stables. Large underground bunkers created by Stable-Tec. Hundreds of these were built, buried beneath the earth where ponies could live in safety for years to come. Many would open and ponies would leave to try and create a new life for themselves, others... would not open.
Not the point however, the point is... does our story start in a Stable?
... not exactly.
Equestria
Two Hundred Years Later
Outside Stable 16
"Eat my lead!" A stallion cried, leveling his 12.7. pistol and fired off three rounds at a small crate nearby which had a pony hiding behind it. Said pony was reloading her revolver, a small 38. "Come on out so I can fucking eat you!"
"Bugger off!" Behind the crate, an earth pony mare cried back before firing off several bullets blindly from her hoof gauntlet. She heard a cry of pain, and sneaking a peek she saw she had hit one of the Raiders in the mouth, the stallion was clutching a hoof to his muzzle as blood gushed out. He eventually fell to the ground, writhing in pain. "Suck on that!" She yelled, grinning as three more raiders popped up from behind the Stable door. "Fuck."
"Kill her!"
Now, outside of the cave leading into Stable 16 however, sat two mares, both sitting side by side behind the rubble of a small shack as they watched something happening opposite of the Stable. Both looked to be of the same age, had oblivious expressions on their faces as thunder rolled overhead. The one on the left was a pegasus, while the one of the right was a unicorn. Both had an almost similar coat color, light grey and dark grey, with bright colored eyes and well toned bodies.
They were watching...
Two raiders going at it like no tomorrow.
"Holy Celestia, how are they still going?!" The orange eyed mare asked her sister, not taking her eyes off of the scene in front of her. A stallion and mare raider, both armed with shotguns and both going at it like a couple of pre-war rabbits. She hadn't expected a show during their travels, but she was pleased nonetheless.
"I dunno," The yellow eyed mare told her sister, tapping a hoof to her chin. "Maybe they're using some kind of spell? I mean, she is a Unicorn after all."
"Where... pray tell, does a girl get a spell to make two ponies rut each other for hours on end?"
"Uhh-"
The orange eyed mare then blinked rapidly, grinning madly. "Cause I want it!"
The yellow eyed mare shook her head incredulously. "Seriously, BP?" With a smirk, she shrugged. "I could probably find one if I really looked, maybe.."
"That would be tits!" BP cheered silently.
The two continued watching the event for another few minutes, gunshots and yells sounding behind them but went unnoticed by either the sisters or the copulating ponies in front of them. They were too busy being caught up in the moment.
Another minute passed by, then BP turned to her sister and asked. "Hey, Fuse... do have any of those Zebra Smokes left?" She was really hoping to have another soon.
Fuse rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, grinning. "Uh, I kinda smoked the last of it back in Salt Cube."
... Silence...
... More silence... and grunts.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" BP cried, throwing up her hooves. "Seriously? Haven't you ever heard that saying, sharing is caring?!" BP yelled, slamming her hoof into the rubble making a loud clack sound and cracking the hard surface. "You do this all the fucking time!"
Fuse frowned, crossing her forelegs over her chest and accidentally hitting her dirty flight goggles. "Well its not my fault, you smoke like six of those things a day!" Fuse retorted sharply, jabbing a hoof into BP's chest and hitting one of the grenades on her bandoleer, promptly dislodging it and making it fall down and roll away down the hill. "I'm surprised your lungs haven't fallen out yet!"
BP was about to insult her sister once more, but one she saw her grenade rolling away, her eyes widened and her pupils turned to pinpricks. "NO! MY BABY, COME BACK!" She sobbed, chasing after the explosive device as it rolled down the hill towards a cave.
"BP come back! We can get more of those!" Fuse yelled, chasing after her sister. It was a lie of course, as Balefire grenades were hard to find let alone manufacture. But she needed to stop her before she did something else stupid. Fuse galloped alongside the orange/black haired mare, trying to keep up as she chased down the grenade. "Stop running Celestia damn it!"
"Come back to mama!" The unicorn tried to snag it in her telekinesis, when it failed she cursed loudly. "Fucking fuck!"
Behind them, the two raiders stopped their actions and eyed the two mares running away. Both of them looking perplexed, and a tad annoyed. "Were... were they watching us?" The stallion asked, tilting his head as the mare below him groaned softly in annoyance.
"Who cares?!" She asked, looking up at him pleadingly. "Keep going!"
"Eh." He continued, shrugging his shoulders.
Back with the sisters, the two chased down the grenade as it rolled away, bouncing off of rocks, pebbles, a few skulls and bouncing into the mouth of the cave several feet away where BP and Fuse both followed it inside. The sounds of gunfire and swearing reached their ears but they paid it no mind, too busy trying to catch a runaway grenade. The device kept out of reach as it rolled down the steep incline, bouncing again, off of rocks and other hard surfaces that should have dislodged the pin yet didn't... for some reason.
Back in the cave, the mare who had come under fire was not looking so good, she had taken a bullet to the foreleg and was clutching the wound as her cover was being blasted away. "Wish I had some help right about now!" She growled under her breath, getting ready to pop out of cover as something hit her hind leg. Looking down she saw something that immediately brought a smile to her face.
It was a grenade, and not just any grenade... a Balefire grenade. She picked it up, the blackened explosive device was shaped like a cylinder, had a clear thick glass with a glowing magical essence within and had a small square on top, and a button on the side. All in all, it was simple to use.
"Fucking A!" she cried pushing the button and waiting three seconds she threw it over the crate, once she heard the grenade hit the wall she shot up and fired off the last of her rounds at the raiders before diving for cover behind a rock. There she saw two mares gallop into her vision and she cursed. Damn it! More Raiders?!
"Where's my baby!?" The orange/black haired pony screamed, looking up ahead her eyes widened. "NO-"
*KRA-BOOOOOOOOOOOM*
The explosion rang out with such force it knocked both mares off of their hooves and shook the third, the cave trembled from the concussive force and made several stalactites fall to the ground, shattering upon impact and sending shards of rock everywhere. The earthquake kept on and all three ponies feared the cave would collapse... several minutes past, and the rumbles slowly ceased altogether.
Silence reigned for a few moments... then a sob broke out.
"NOOO!" The unicorn cried, falling to the ground in a heap and covering her head with her forehooves. She cried, hard as she laid on the ground. "My child... is gone forever." She sobbed.
The wastelander, wearing the tattered remains of a Red Racer jumpsuit stared at the sobbing mess of a pony in front of her as the other came over and comforted her. She couldn't believe what had just happened, did she just kill some poor mare's child with a Balefire grenade?! She hadn't seen a colt or filly among the raiders, but what if it was tied or or being held down?! "Oh my Luna, I'm so so sorry!" The mare shook, sitting on the cold stone floor of the cavern. "I didn't know!"
"He's gone!" BP continued, not hearing or caring about the wastelander's apologies. "Blow-ded up into a gerjillion pieces!" Rolling onto her back, she looked up at the ceiling in angst. "He was so young!" She cried, holding a hoof to her chest as the other was outstretched above her, as if she were reaching for something.
"He was over two hundred years old." Fuse told her sister, shaking her head with a sigh. "And an explosive."
"I'm so sorry abo-wait what?!" Stopping her apology and looking up, any regret for killing the raiders nearby gone completely and replaced with confusion. The earth pony stood up and narrowed her eyes at the two. "What do you mean he was an explosive?! I thought I killed somepony!"
Looking behind the earth pony, Fuse just shrugged. "Well, you did kill like, six raiders or something with that Balefire grenade."
The earth pony jabbed a hoof at the crying unicorn. "But she said her child was killed!"
"Oh." The pegasus rubbed her chin, staring blankly at the Red Racer mare as she made air quotes. "Her 'child' was a Balefire grenade, so yes, you technically killed her kid... in a way."
This got the unicorn's attention. She stood up, her eyes turning to the earth pony. Suddenly she grabbed the pony, holding her up against the cave wall and aiming her grenade launcher at her face. "You killed him! How could you do such a horrible thing?!" she screamed, shaking where she stood.
Crying out in pain from her wound, the mare said. "It was a fucking weapon! Not a kid!" She yelled, trying to get her gun aimed at the other but couldn't. Her arm was being held down by the unicorn's telekinesis. "What are you doing! Let me go!"
"Apologize for killing mah baby you harlot!" BP demanded, mouth clutching the trigger on her grenade launcher. "Or I'll fill you so full of... so full of..."
"Dicks?" Fuse offered helpfully with a smile.
"Yeah!" BP grinned. "I'll fill you so full of dicks, you won't know which way is up!" She cackled, left eye twitching.
...
"That doesn't make any sense!"
"Your face doesn't make any sense!"
Jeez, this mare is insane! The earth pony growled. "Look, I'm sorry all right, but I don't have time for this shit!"
Suddenly she found herself being dropped to the ground and looking up at the two now smiling mares. "Was that so hard to do?" BP asked, tilting her head.
The third mare could only frown.

And so the three mares had sat in the cave for the longest time, well... the earth pony was nursing her gunshot wound while the Blast Sisters looted the corpses for ammo, weapons, and whatever else that looked delectable... I mean, cap worthy in terms of items. So far, they had found smokes, booze, and a Playcolt magazine BP found herself very interested in. BP sat on the corpse of a raider, her tail swished back and forth as her sister eyed the stable door with a pensive expression.
The earth pony only looked at her wound, eyeing the blood with distaste before reaching into her saddle bag to look for some bandages. She had packed some a while back, but from the looks of her bag they were gone. Damn it! She cursed, wincing once more as her wound stung. Last thing I need I need is to get this infected.
Nearby she heard hoofsteps, and when she looked she saw the blasted pegasus, Fuse. "Hey, you alright?" She asked, her tone was soft and curious, with a hint of worry in her words.
The mare only frowned. "I got fucking shot, what do you think?" She asked, showing her gunshot wound, again regretting her action.
Fuse didn't say anything, only frowning thoughtfully before turning her head around and rooting through her saddlebag, as she did the earth pony got a good look at her. She was pretty attractive for a young mare, and she looked young, very young, not even out of her teens yet. Must still be in her teens.She thought. But the one thing that stood out, was a lit barrel of TNT on her flank, in the form of a cutie mark. ... do I even want to know why she has that particular mark? Raising an eyebrow at the potential dangers of having a mark. She watched as Fuse brought out a small medical kit and hoofed it over, much to her suspicion. "What's that?" She questioned, eyeing the small white box.
"It's a medical kit." Fuse answered, her voice a pleasant volume to hear in such a dark place. "You can have it, you look like you need it." Looking closer at the wound, she added. "Do you need help?"
The pony ignored her, setting down the kit and opened it up, revealing a healing potion and bandages, and a small box of Party Time Mentats. Not wasting any time, she took out the healing potion and downed it in two gulps before going about bandaging up her wounds. Fuse waited for her to say something, but the earth pony ignored her and continued with her bandaging. Fuse shrugged and trotted away to join her sister who was opening a pack of smokes she found.
BP opened the small pack and jerking the box up, made two cigarettes pop out. Holding out the box to Fuse, she asked. "So what's her deal?"
Fuse shrugged again, taking a seat next to her sister and taking the offered smoke. "No idea, I think she may be mad at us still about the whole grenade deal." She suggested, pulling out a lighter and lighting her cigarette. She held out the flame to BP who place her own in it before pulling it back and taking a greedy puff.
"She's still on that?" BP shook her head, her bangs bouncing with her movements. "That happened like, three minutes before the title came up." She threw her arms out, gesturing to nothing in particular. "Filly needs to get over it."
A huff sounded nearby. "I can hear you ya know." The other occupant of the cave growled, her voice accented by pain and annoyance.
"We know~" BP chuckled, inhaling deeplybefore puffing out some smoke
