Off The Trail
Crash
Load Full StoryNext ChapterPain. We've all felt pain in our life. Physical and emotional. Pain is our guide. It tells us what is wrong and bad. It punishes us and alerts us when we go against it. Its a safety mechanism to us.
Its what I like to think brought me back.
As I drift in my subconscious I feel a sharp, but somewhat pleasant burning sensation on my leg. As I become more aware of this though, it gets hotter, hotter, and hotter. Now it is equivalent to the feeling of accidentally putting your hand on a open stove. You've all done that right?
My eyes shoot open, but are greeted by dirt. Still in great pain from the now smoldering fire on my leg, I try to escape the now apparent heat. panick takes over me as I try to get the dirt out of my eyes, to only come to the understanding that my dirt bike goggles where on, along with all my other gear. Leg is now in intense and unbearable pain. Quickly removing the goggles and helmet attached, I start to look around.. My lower torso is now covered by my dirt bike. Alarmingly the engine is on and now is slowly melting my skin away. Panic takes over me as I try to wiggle and kick the bike off of me.
The pain is now blinding as I get the bike off of me and look at my right leg. Blackened, and burnt bad. As I sit there looking at my leg, I yell for help. "My mom and dad shouldn't be far" I think to myself. I was only in the backyard after all.
Thinking back to how I even crashed in the first place, nothing comes to my mind.
I look around to get situated in my yard to try and find out where I am. But the more and more I look, the more unease and scared I feel. The trees here are hung with dark green moss, the air is way more muggy and dense. Fog covers the forest floor, shielding my eyes from the unknown ground. Bugs and flies hover around in the distance.
looking up to see what time of day it is, but to only see fog.
In the distance I hear howling similar to that of a wolves, but more menacing and frightening. I get up to my wobbly feet and make an effort to not put any weight on my right leg. I pick up a somewhat lengthy stick and use it as a cane.
The howling starts again, but many others join in on it too. Some sounded very close to me. If I had a detecting meter for my anxiety, it would be skyrocketing right now. "Wolves don't hunt humans right?" I think to myself. "But what if they are very desperate for food, could easily take me out with a few bites" I ponder.
I limb over to my now busted bike, the engine is now off. Gas is leaking everywhere. "Even if i did get the damn thing working, there no fuel for it" I realize. I spot a fairly big bush, wide enough form me to go under.
CRACK! BOOM!
Thunder, of all of the times. The downpour seemingly come out of nowhere. The bush does next to nothing to shelter me from the relentless gods above shaming me for all I did wrong in my life.
Creaaaaaaaaaak.......... Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuunch................ Growl.
Oh shit.
Oh shit
Shit
Shit
Creeaaaaaaak........
"That does not sound like a animal" I say to myself.
As I hid under my bush in a very manly ball, I say its legs.
Big, strong wooden legs. Each with individual claws and appendages at the ends of them. It crouched down and moved towards the bike. Its head was very similar to a canines head. Except for the leaves and wooden structure of course.
Creeeeaaaaak......
The creature made very noisy and loud noises. Similar to rubbing styrofoam together. It started to sniff the goggles, and headgear i left behind. "Wait can it smell me?" I thought to myself. It slowly turned around and started to make its way to my secrete lair.
No, no, no, no
It suddenly stopped and stared at where i was hiding, it saw me. It lunged and tackled me out of the bush. Now covered in rain and mud, I recover and stare at the creature. If I had my rape whistle it would be blowing right now. It charged and swiped its sharp claw at me. It got me on my right arm, now a open gash with dark red crimson blood pouring out. "If im going to die right now, im going out the right way" I say as I face death. I run up to the creature and go for a left hook. It then catches my arms mid swing with its big canine teeth. I try to tear my arm away but it just makes it more painful. It gets ready to swing me and let me flying when all of a sudden I take to fingers and jab them in its left eye.
It lets go and retreats, whimpering and whining. "Yea bitch!" I yell.
I feel light headed and fall to my knees.
"So this is how it ends eh? Almost mauled to death by an alien. But to die from bloodless and not from the creature itself. I take one more good look at my arm. Its pouring and my whole right side is drenched is dark red crimson liquid. As i feel myself falling face first into the ground i see another creature running towards me. Its colored black and some other bright color. I don't feel obliged to recognize the other color and this is the end for me. Kinda funny how i ended up here face first in dirt and now i die here the same way.
Am I dead?
Maybe I was dead all along.
Being punished for my sins.
No, cant be.
I was that much of a dick in my life.
"Where ever did you come? To fight a timberwolf was dumb"
Wait, who was that.
Oww
Something is poking my arm.
I try to open my eyes but they are to heavy. It felt like I was under heavy medication. Wait, was I being drugged? My breathing started to pick up.
The thing talking to me must have noticed this.
"Please do not move, for that I disapprove" It said again.
What is up with the rhyming?
"I must lastly apply this herb, then i will no longer disturb"
I then felt a soft feeling on my upper right arm, presumably where the gash was. Then footsteps, and silence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My eyes open, to a small but cozy wooden hut. Made of hay, stray, mud, and foliage from the surrounding forest. Tiki like masks hang from the walls. Candles on tables light the room I lay in. I was sleeping on a wooden frame bed. With a soft cotton mattress. And a thin plain brown blanket. I look down to my leg and see it wrapped and covered in leaves and other unknown items. My arm is tightly bandaged the same way my leg is.
I start to lift the bandage off to see the damage below.
"That cut will most likely scar, how you survived is quite bazaar"
"Ahh!" I scream, falling backwards off the couch.
I look up to see who was treating me. A small, black and white miniature horse like zebra stood at the doorway to the room I was in.
"Please do not be afraid, I only came here to aid" It said.
By this point I had a couple things sorted out. First of all it was a female now that I could hear her without the heavy medication i was on. Second of all I was on a really bad acid trip. Third of all my parents are gonna be so pissed.
Life was great!
