Ever since the very first night Twilight and her friends used the Elements of Harmony, there has been a connection between the relics and the six friends. Whether or not they realize it, the Elements can and have had a great effect on their lives.

Unfortunately, there were some aspects of the Elements that Twilight and her friends did not understand. A connection that they inherited from another, one created in the long, distant past. A connection to something much, much darker than anything they have ever faced.

A connection that somepony hopes to leverage in order to release that darkness.

Now Twilight and her friends must journey in order to find that pony and the well-kept secret he represents, all the while attempting to control the new, dark powers they have inherited. They must make friends of foes, and foes of possible friends in order to survive this deadly ordeal.

For should they fail, all that they know and love will be destroyed.
