//-------------------------------------------------------// To live, you have to forget some things -by Atari- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter one: The talent's school //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter one: The talent's school At the train station of Loranleas, a metro has just arrived. A girl who wears a black top, a dark purple skirt, and large mounting glasses went out of the transport. She was carrying two bags and seemed tired by her travel. “Twilight, wait!” a guy voice said. The girl turned to the train and sighed. “What do you want? Don’t you see I’m late?” she replied, weary. “I… I just wanted to say goodbye. You will be absent the whole year and… You are my little sister. I know I haven’t always been with you… I… I know I missed your birthday parties every year and… I know you must hate me because my absence but, I want you to know that I love you Twi’, I will always love you, you’re my sister… Twilight, I—“a voice cut him while he was talking: “The metro will start after a few minutes.” It was the signal before the train’s leaving. “I told you, I’m late. Don’t hold me up any longer, Shinin’.” Twilight warned her brother. “Oh yes… I’m sorry… Have a great school year. Take pictures and present me your new friends when you’ll get back home for the winter holidays.” He said with a forced smile –he just wanted to cry. “Who told you I’ll make new friends at school? I’m here for learning science! Not for making new friends or something!” she objected. “I’m sure you’ll make friends here. Loranleas is popular for its warm and nice inhabitants.” Shining Armor continued. “I am NOT gonna make FRIENDS! Don’t even think about it, I don’t need friends. Not anymore.” She opposed. “Daddy said he’s sure you will. And when daddy is sure something will happen, it happens! Have fun Twily, don’t forget sending me messages…” “I sent you a lot of messages last year, you never answered.” Shining Armor giggled. “I’m sorry Twilight… I was busy. I had a lot of things to do last year so I never could answer you, but, I read every one of your messages little sis’.” The metro’s doors started to close. “I’ll miss you…” he said before the doors close completely. Twilight waited until the metro leaves and after, she went out the subway station. Learning was the favorite hobby of Twilight Sparkle. Science was her life, math was her best friend and chemistry was her second family. But, making friends was the worst thing her family never expected from her. And Shining Armor, her big brother, also wanted her to make new friends. It seems like everybody had a yen for seeing her die, but, on the contrary, they only wished the best for her. “Shining Armor…” she murmured. A tear rolled down her cheek. “I’ll miss you too…” she added. ~ Twilight had just put her stuff on the ground and she was immediately smashed by a skateboarder. She slammed into the ground and her bags fell brutally then, they opened. All of her stuff was spread on the ground. “Are you out of your mind?!” Twilight yelled. “Ooooops” the skateboarder replied. The girl gathered her things and put them away. The skateboarder held out his hand. “No thanks. I can get up alone.” She refused his help. “Really? That’s good; I wasn’t going to help you anyway.” He admitted. “I just wanted to recover my MP3. It fell here a while ago…” He added with a smirk. Twilight freezes. Why this revelation was so surprising? “You smashed me and because of you, all my stuff was spread on the ground and the only thing you thought about was recovering your thingy?” she said with considerations. “Yeah! What does it do?” he answered. Then, he glanced at his watch and mentioned: “Did you see what time it is? I have to go!” Then, he grinned broadly and left. “See? That’s why I don’t need friends…” she said to herself. “People make fun of me… always.” Twilight repositioned her bags and stood. She called the taxi cab service of the city and books a taxi. Then, she starts to wait. ~ Two or three hours after, it's still no taxi in sight. It was getting late and she stills haven’t reached her destination. Indeed, she had to go to “The talent’s school” which is located somewhere in Loranleas for studying sciences and chemistry. She knew no people living in this town so she could ask nobody to take her to the school. “Why is the taxi that late?” she wondered. A blonde girl dressing cowboy hat was standing not away from her. She decided to ask her if she knew anything about taxis and their delay... “Excuse me… I… I book a taxi, maybe three hours ago, but it hasn’t arrived yet… Are taxis always that late?” she asked. “What? Taxi? Sorry sweetheart, this town has no taxi!” the girl answered. “WHAT?! But… the man said that…” Twilight was in shock, ready to faint. But, she didn’t know what was worse… That the girl called her “sweetheart” or that the town has no taxi and the guy that she talked with on the phone has lied to her… “But you can take the bus!” “Cool! Where can I find buses?” “Right there! But… The buses don’t run at this time… They start at 7 am and stop at 9pm.” The blonde haired girl said. “Neat…” Twilight still inexpressive. “I’m stuck here for a few more hours.” It was 10 pm. The girl seemed to think for a while and told: “I know what to do! Ya’ll come with us! My family will arrive by car in an instant. Just, wait here with me for their arrival.” She smiled widely, Twilight still pensive. “Where ya wanna go?” “The talent’s school. Do you know where it is?” The science lover asked. “Yeah of course! I’m going there!” The girl giggled. “It’s awesome, isn’t it?” “Probably…” Twilight sighed. “My name is Applejack! What’s yer name?” “Huh… Twilight Sparkle.” She said. A big black colored car arrived driving very fast. It’s parked in front of the girls. “Applejack! Yoo-hoo! How are you big sis?” a little redhead yelled. “I’m good Apple Bloom! How are you y’all? Hey Big Mac! Granny smith!” Twilight blinked. They looked just like fools… “Get in! Hurry up! I wanna drive!” an old woman yelled. “Granny, ya know how to drive?” The blonde girl looked puzzled. “I got my driver’s license! Isn’t it cool?” “’Yup… And she’s destroying my car now…” a guy told. “Oh, come on Big Mac! Yer car is as new as when ya purchased it!” the grandma ensured. “Nope…” the guy sighed. “Let’s go Twilight! Get in the car!” Applejack said. “Okay… Do you have enough space for my bags?” She asked. “Sure, we have! Don’t worry!” The blonde girl reassured her. “Then okay, I get in…” Applejack threw the bags on Apple Bloom and Big Mac. “Ya see? We have space!” She smiled. Twilight grimaced. She wasn’t sure it was a great idea to follow this band of fool, but, it was the only way to go to the talent’s school… She wished that nothing bad would happen… //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter two: My first day at school? Awful... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter two: My first day at school? Awful... Applejack’s grandmother was driving very fast for her age. As fast as Twilight has vomited. And the music that the Apple family listened was as weird and terrible as Twilight has vomited a second time. Luckily, she arrived at the university without accidents. –At least, without any serious accident-. “How can they be that way?” Twilight wondered. She wanted to throw up just by thinking about what happened. “They are ALL crazy!” The little redhead called “Apple Bloom” wouldn’t stop opening her bags, it was very freaky! And that guy, the big one –and the only one who was there- wouldn’t stop crushing her all the time. She was sitting between that girl and her brother it was too narrow, so it had been pretty hard to move. Not to mention their grandmother who had shouted with her shrill voice at everybody driving on the highway, although they had done nothing at all… Nobody except Applejack has tried to stop her. Like if the other ones were enjoying to listen at her terrible screams. In short! She had spent the worst time of her life in the company of the Apples. The worst of the worst… And it wasn’t yet finished! Twilight Sparkle, who carried her huge luggage, was going up the stairs with difficulty. There were lots of stairs, long and wide stairs, but no elevator. And to crown it whole; her room was on the third floor. “Great… It’s the best thing that could happen to me…” she sighed. It was night. So there weren’t many people in the hallways of the school. The only ones who weren’t on their room at this time of night were the smokers who went out to smoke and the Goths that went out to… do what the Goths are supposed to do –I have no idea what it could be…- Twilight felt very uncomfortable. Walking alone after nightfall, wherever it was, always scared her. She had the impression that all the dangers of the world were somewhere near to her. And then, suddenly, she felt a glance resting on her back as if someone was watching her, someone whose gaze could even burn your skin if he looks at you. Maybe a vampire? Or a werewolf? A criminal?! Her heart was beating a mile a minute. It was very troubling… But she recovered herself soon: “Twilight Sparkle, stop thinking about things that don’t make any sense! You’re 18 years old, remember?” she ordered herself. “Nobody is watching you, don't be fooled now!” she continued. Twilight always loved to read science fiction or fantasy novels. She had read a lot of stories in which something terrible happened to an innocent girl who walked alone in an almost desert corridor. And she had read a lot of detective stories in which the criminal hostage was a poor girl who had nothing to do with the story. And inexplicably, she always puts herself in the position of this poor girl when she crosses dark streets at night… Thus, she finally reached the third floor and arrived in front of her room’s door. The light was on, her roommate was already there. She sighed once again and entered. A purple haired girl was drawing, comfortably settled on her bed. When she saw Twilight, she stood up and greeted her. “Good evening, darling. I suppose you’re my roommate, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Rarity, I’m sure we will get along well. Since we are roommates, I suppose you will study on the artistic section like me, won’t you?” It was two beds in the room, arranged in parallel. Twilight puts her suitcases on her bed and opened them. “I chose the science option.” Twilight asserted, putting away her things. “I see…” Rarity said. “So, what is your name, darling? Maybe we could be friends!” “My name is Twilight Sparkle. And… no thanks. I don’t need friends right now.” Rarity seemed troubled. Up to here, nobody has ever declined her friendship… on the contrary, all girls -or almost- she had met hitherto had become her friends. Many times, Rarity had to share a room with another girl and the girls she shared her room with always became her friends. The purple haired girl stared at Twilight from top to bottom. She looked special. Something from her was very inspiring, but Rarity couldn’t understand what exactly it was. By her side, Twilight was dressing pajamas to going to bed. Her journey was very exhausting. Firstly, the travel in the metro was loud and long. Secondly, an unconscious skateboarder smashed her. Thirdly, she waited for a nonexistent taxi for hours. Fourthly, AJ’s grandma turned her travel by car into a living nightmare... And finally, she could sleep. Twilight’s head ached a lot. The last time she had felt so bad, was a long time ago. It was at school, Twilight Sparkle was only 14 years old. And the last day of classes, all her classmates had decided to play tricks on her. From the morning -where she was welcomed with paper balls on her face- they wouldn’t stop bothering her. They stuck insults on her back, wrote bad things about her on the board and spilled her plate in the canteen. At the end of the day, they doused her with a bucket full of slugs. Once back at home, she locked herself in her bedroom and cried her eyes out. Suddenly, whereas she was deep in thoughts while wearing her nightgown -purple and white striped-, she felt that someone was watching her deeply. She turned around and noted that Rarity was staring at her with sparks in her eyes. “What do you want?” Twilight asked while closing the buttons of her nightgown. “N… Nothing! Absolutely nothing!” Rarity affirmed. Then, she laughed nervously. Twilight frowned and looked at her insistently for a while, Rarity smiled then sweated. The science lover looked away slowly and started to put her pants. After a while, she realized that Rarity stills watching her. “What’s wrong with you?!” she yelled. “I… I’m sorry! I… I just… I… Oh, never mind…” Rarity replied. Twilight was very terrifying when she was angry. As terrifying as even Rarity was afraid of her. Yet she seemed to be very nice and friendly when she entered in the room earlier. But no, Rarity was mistaken; Twilight was, on the contrary, as cold as a rock and private... Rarity resettled on her bed and continued to draw a bit confused. Then, she wondered why her roommate was so distant. Maybe she was just tired? After brushing her hair, Twilight went to bed and fell asleep. ~ The next morning, Rarity woke up early and right away, she resumed her drawings. In fact, she had been so inspired the last night that she even saw herself draw in her dream. The first thing she thought about was "draw the sketches of my future line of clothing and maybe even the one after". When Twilight woke up, -one or two hours after Rarity- she immediately noticed that something had changed in Rarity. Indeed, her roommate was drawing four times faster than the previous day and she seemed more motivated and inspired. What could have done this effect? “You’re still drawing from yesterday?” she asked, curiously. “What?!” Rarity shouted. She was so absorbed by her sketches that she didn’t notice that Twilight was awake. “Oh! Twilight, my dear! You scared me!” Twilight stills inexpressive, she was waiting for a response to her question. “Huh… No, I am not. Yesterday, I went to bed a few minutes after you. I am awake since six in the morning and I am drawing from only a half of an hour,” the purple haired girl smiled. “Sleep well?” she asked. “More or less,” Twilight stood up and started to get changed. A while after, she checked if Rarity was looking at her… and she was. “You’re gay, right?” she said, rather annoyed. “What? No! Not at all! You just inspire me a lot. Thanks to you, I drew fifty models in twenty minutes!” Rarity explained. “And what in me is inspiring you?” Twilight continued a bit surprised. “I… I don’t even know how to explain! I’m gonna say… everything! The way you move, your hair, your face, your glasses! And even your coldness!” she admitted. Twilight looked down a little embarrassed. “Oh… I am sorry,” Rarity apologized. “I know I shouldn’t watch you without your permission, but… I cannot restrain myself!” “It does no matter, you can even continue if it suits you,” Twilight told. The purple haired girl smiled widely and thanked her for her approval. After some while, Twilight left the room with her schoolbag. There were still two hours before the beginning of her first chemistry course. All courses didn’t start at the same time; the biology and music courses had already started. Those of art and science would start after two hours and those of sport would begin in about an hour. Each student was enrolled in one section no more, so, a single theme. Each section focused solely on their subjects. For example; a music section’s student won’t do sports with the students who chose the sport option. Anyway, he wouldn’t have the time to practice another activity; the program of all sections was very full; even the option of music. The science lover decided to go take a ride on the cafeteria and buy a snack. She hadn’t eaten since her arriving in Loranleas and she had vomited her breakfast when she was with the Apples. Twilight was accustomed to eat nothing for more than 24 hours so she wasn’t too hungry. She spent hours eating nothing for long periods of depression or the days when her studies absorbed her more than anything else. But she had to be nourished to study well. Once in the cafeteria, she bought a croissant and a carton of milk and sat down in a chair away from everyone. She started eating her croissant and deep in thoughts for a long time. Then, someone called her; “TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!” the girl was right in front of her. The science lover got up abruptly and took a few steps backward. “I… I remember you!” Twilight said, very surprised. “You’re--” “PINKIE PIE!! Yes, it’s me!” the pink haired girl cut her. Twilight froze. “Pinkie Pie… Pinkie Pie? Why Pinkie Pie was in a place like this?!” she wondered, trembling. “Twilight, I have to ask you something!” Pinkie Pie began to talk. “No! You don’t have to!” Twilight objected. She tried to flee, leaving behind, her snack. That’s it; she absolutely had to change her look and identity to avoid being recognized. Pinkie was very dangerous, mad… and freaky. Twilight had to flee her at all took. Otherwise, she would go crazy! “TWILIIIIIGHT!!! WAIIIIIT!!” Pinkie called her out. Twilight quickened. “Provided she doesn’t grab me!” she thought. Pinkie Pie stopped her by coming in front of her. “STOOOOP!!” she shouted. After it, there was total silence. “You have forgotten your milk!” Pinkie Pie reminded her. “Never mind! You can drink it!” she permitted her. Twilight resumed her escape after pushing Pinkie out of her way. “TWILIGHT!!” once again, the pink haired girl called. “And the croissant! What do I do with it?!” “Eat it! I don’t need it anymore!” Pinkie stopped following Twilight, but the girl didn’t know and kept running. Then, when she turned away and noticed that the fool wasn’t there, she, all of a sudden, bumped against someone who was also running. Her schoolbag opened and all her stuff was spread on the floor. “What the…” she suddenly recognized the skateboarder that smashed her the day before, the same accident happened just now. “YOU AGAIN?!” they yelled at the same time.
