Chapters Beep....beep.....beep....beep... Is she breathing Her mane and coat is most similar to mine, just faded a shade of white No I can't allow this, she will not die young.... I will change her fate! She won't pass
The cardioscan begins to beep again.
Her coat is white, making her veins show up, especially because of the shock. I hope it didn't hurt her. But the difference is that her veins are, red? No this can't be. No it's just a genetic mutation. It can't really be what I'm thinking can it, can it Oh my she appears to be waking, should I say something? No not until she looks at me
"Ehh." She stuttered.
I guess she did feel it, poor thing I don't know what to say, she survived. She surpassed treatment, incredible She either hasn't learned to say basic words, or lost her memory. That wouldn't be good, maybe I'll test her with the word apple
"Hehe!"
**Ok well I atleast know what to say to cheer her up, always good to know . "Ok little one time to take you back to nurse Redheart." I levitate the foal onto my back and cast a teleportation spell to arrive at ponyville's hospital. "Nurse Redheart, I have brought back the foal and in good health!"
"Thank you Silver, I'm glad I can count on you." "I'll watch over her, I don't want you to have more work to do."
"Thank you Mrs.Redheart, here you are." As I gently pass the foal to her, she begins to squirm in her arms. I hope the treatment doesn't have some sort of effect on her that wasn't expected
"Now now little one say bye to Dr.Silver."
In an instant I see the foals horn glow... blood red and silver. Just like mine
"Oh Silver." She says in a low tone with a curious look. "It seems as if she is choosing you to be her care taker."
"Come again?"
"You heard me."
I... I'm very puzzled, she only looked at me for a minute. There is no way she could have these feelings for me, unless she knew what I was doing. If so, she is some foal Her eyes are closed and for a foal she is hanging on tight, does she think.... I'm her father ? I begin to feel my heart's pace increase.
"Aww you look so cute together, almost as if she was your own." Redheart stated with feeling. "Just one moment, stay right there and don't move!" She pulls out a small camera that seems to be years old. Click! "Here you are."
We do look the same, It's almost scary how similar we look. Her mane is slightly different from mine in shape, slightly. As a doctor/surgeon I have her medical records, meaning I know what she needs, she appearantly has no gaurdian
"No silly! She is just going to be in your care for a few days, unless; you want to keep her?"
I'm scrambling right now, clueless on what to say. I don't understand, nothing in the world can make me lose my mind. It seems as if I have found my kryptonite
"Um.... Doctor are you alright, you seem to be lost in thought."
"Yes yes I'm fine, I shall oversee her health for a day or two." "Carry on!" The first thing that came to mind was my home. I quickly casted a teleportation spell and vanished.
"Wow, I never knew he was this soft, he always had a plan for everything." I think I just caused him to have a mental breakdown. Should I mail him an apology? No he'll be fine, he always is
"Here we are, home sweet home." "Time to show you around!" I gently place the foal on the ground. She begins to wander around and notices my red lava lamp, she also takes a seat. "Luckily that thing is on a table and away from her reach." Her horn begins to glow and the lamp is engulfed with an aura. I doubt she can lift it, she is only a foal The real question is; who taught her how to cast spells She is doing it, astonishing! Almost there, gently, gently. Tink !
"Weeehehehe!" she giggled.
She did it and without a single crack too
"Na ah ah!" I said with care "You can see the house and get a better view on my back." She giggled. I guess that means yes. Hehe I think I'll return the gesture.
"Ohh!" She says excitedly.
"Ok here you go!" I cast a summoning spell to bring me a bonesaw of red light and began to cut the apple into 8 symmetrical slices. As I was doing so she trotted to my side to watch and sat down. When I finished I released the bonesaw, as it fell it exploded like glass. Triangular fragments of red light filled the air for a brief moment and vanished. In that very moment the little filly ran under me in panic. While doing so her small horn poked my chest, I looked down and met her worried eyes.
"It's ok little one the doctor is here to make everything better." I lowered my head and nuzzled her to ensure that everything is fine. Her shaking began to subside, she nuzzled back and let out a small wimper. "Now now little one follow me, so we can snack." While exiting the kitchen I opened the fridge and pulled out some grape juice. My favorite Crack ! She closes her eyes and enjoys the juiciness of the apple, when she finished she gave me a begging gesture much like a hug but more like a "Feed me please." I couldn't resist.
After a few moments of enjoying apple slices, I decided that it would be a good time to pour us a drink. I took two cups off of the counter, one normal sized and the other smaller. I twisted the cap off of the container and poured us some grape juice. Before I even thought about taking a sip of my favorite drink, I decided to watch what the filly's reaction would be. As I gently pass over the cup, she reaches out to grab it with open arms. She looks at me and than back to her cup. She smells the strong scent of the juice. Wow she actually smells her drink before drinking it, much like I do She is litterally chugging the drink! Incase she gets thirsty I know what she likes.
"Ahhhhh.... hehe." Grape juice began to drip from her muzzle.
I've never seen a young filly act this way, I know I'm a doctor but... her reaction is very different from many.
"Hehe!"
"Umph!" Oh my!.. she leaped forward and gave me a hug, It would be rude of me if I didn't do the same. She still sat their hugging me I realized something. Did she see our photo? The one Mrs.Redheart took? Does that mean she thinks... I'm her....... Father?
Home Sweet Home: Continued
After a snack and some comforting I decided it would be best to show her the rest of my home. As I looked around I realized that all of the window curtains where closed. I think I should start by showing the outside world.
She did try, I will give her that. She also seems to be either the adventurous or knowledgable type. I guess the sight is amazing to her. I believe she is trying to get a better grip on my neck, she is squirming all over the place. It tickles! Her horn may be small, but I can definitely feel it.
Before us was a steel door and a white table lower than me, which had the the width of a soccer ball. I placed my hoof at the top and formed a red circle. A speaker above sounded "Access granted." The steel door sank into the ground, unfolding an entrance to an elevator. "Going down." I said softly to the filly. My eyes wandered and looked over my shoulder, only to find her cowering. I don't believe she is used to the feel of this kind of gravity, a fear of falling maybe?
"Hhmm...." She wimpered. As we finally reached our destination, a small bell sounded and the door slid open. I slowly entered the room and gently placed her on the floor.
I sat down and said "Lights on!" In an instant, red light projections of keyboards,mouses,screens, and even a Jelly fish aquarium appeared. Now that the room was well lit, she was open to explore. First thing that caught her attention where the computer screens. Quickly, she trotted over and used a stack of papers as a stool to hop onto my seat. At first she tapped a few keys and quickly and withdrew her hoof. She mashed the keys and gave a puzzled look, as sounds where made when she touched them. She decided to put both hooves down on the pullout table and push down. The table should be able to withstand her pressure Darnit, I knew I forgot to replace something on the list!
"I am here now, you are safe in my hooves." I swiflty picked her up with my fore legs and began craddle her just enough to calm her down. She tried to wipe the tears from her eyes, but her tears only stained her coat. Wait a moment. Are her tears red?
"Hehehe." She squealed. I took a small plastic bucket that was similar to the one I used as a filly and filled it halfway with water. Before I drenched her mane she looked up at me, closed her eyes and waited. "Here comes the rain." I began to slowly pour the water above her head. She enjoyed the water so much she did the same thing she did at the dinner table earlier, and that was to do the "Feed me please" look. She is so cute, truly like none of my other patients.
"Alright come here you!" I carefully pulled her towards me with my magic forcing her to sit down. Like a flash of lightning she got up, turned to the side and doggy paddled around the tub, splashing water every where. "Hey, your getting my mane wet!" I replied playfully. The water connected and fragmented as it traveled inbetween the tile, appearing like glass snakes sneaking up on their prey. "That's enough horseplay." I began to pull her by her tail slowly with my magic. "You aren't going anywhere!" I said with laughter.
"Hehehe!!!" She giggled.
I grabbed more shampoo and applied some to her tail. She looked at her tail as if it was cotton candy and showed an open mouthed smile! While she was hypnotized with her tail's new look, I refilled the bucket with water and washed away the shampoo from her mane. I repeated the step once more to make sure that she was free of shampoo. I then proceeded to washing her tail. "May you sit for me please?"
I said kindly. She replied with a violent splash, even more water escaped the bath tub."Don't hurt yourself little filly, sometimes you don't need to overdue it." I reached over and grabbed a comb to help the shampoo fade into the water, after a few strokes I said "Time to get you dry!" I gently pick her drenched body up like a wet towel from her belly to give her support while I carry her out of the tub. I place her onto a towel and suddenly, she shakes her body around like a puppy and causes a drizzle. "Oh no you don't!" With the nearest towel I began to dry her off. Upper body first. I was giving her a soft noogie as I used the towel like a rag and dried her mane. With a few more sections to go I decided to make things interesting. I placed a blowdryer beside me and began to dry her coat with the other side of the towel. While doing so she gave a small grin and looked at me with her large spectrum brown eyes. For a few brief moments I forgot what I was doing.
I returned to drying her coat, and then her tail. "Almost done!" I plugged in the blowdryer and said "Here comes the storm!" The level of air flow was small and warm, just enough to cause her to start rolling around. The motion was the same as "stop,drop, and roll", but she was just being playful. I than focused the steady stream of air to her belly as she looked up at me upside down, ears folded, eyes wide, and hooves covering some of her face. Oh my she is so adorable, so adorable infact I wish I could just hug her to pieces!
She inhales excitedly.
"I'll take that as a yes, hop on my back little one." Without hesitation she did. We arrived to the kitchen only to find out that there are no apples left, I sighed and she wimpered. "Ah ha I have a solution, a nice glass of warm milk!" I opened the fridge and withdrew some milk, opened the cabinets and pulled out chocolate powder,cups,and a small cloth. I poured the milk into a small glass and added a teaspoon of coco powder, stirred it and placed it into the microwave. It was set to one minute of heating. As it warmed up it spun round and round again, causing the filly's eyes to go side to side. Ha she is entertained, I can tell.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
"Done." I withdrew the hot cup with my magic and blew softly to cool it down a notch. I turned my neck to the left and waited to see if she likes it. She took little sips that made loud slurping sounds. She let out a soft exhale when she was done drinking. She didn't drink much, but she will be fine. Small droplets of milk began to form around her muzzle, I quickly wiped it off with the extra cloth. "Ready for sleepy time?" I said in a soothing tone.
"Hmph!" She said in a muffled tone.
"Now now, it's getting late, off we go!" After walking a few stairs we have finally arrived in my room. My bed was red and white patterned with plain wooden polls holding up the small roofing above, beside it was a much smaller bed that I had prepared for her ahead of time. Just incase I needed to watch over her. "Here you are, this is where you will sleep." I said softly. As I began to place her into her bed she held out both arms in an attempt to hang onto me. When she finally laid down I pulled the soft covers over her small body. She wimpered and began to get teary eyed. Oh how much this breaks my heart to see this...
"Now I too can rest." I crawled under my covers, turned the fan on and went to sleep. In just minutes I heard crying from the young filly. I climbed out of bed and went to check on her. The moment I got close, she began to wail and tear up.
"Wahhhhhhhhhh, wahhhhhhh!" She screeched.
I reached into the covers and picked her up. I began to gently craddle her in my arms while speaking words of calm. "Hush now little one, doctor is here to make it all better." I said soothingly. To my suprise she woke up with entirely open eyes and stared at me. After some time she began to calm down. It seems as if she doesn't feel safe in this new environment without me, that's no problem. My bed is big enough for 2. Iron, I taste iron. This only means one thing,she cries blood, like I do. Poor thing, it's a very painful experience with all honesty. I've never felt this way about a filly before... Did Mrs.Redheart know I would react like this? If so she is a very wise mare.
She let out a small yawn and quietly spoke these three words.
"I wuv you...."
"I love you too darling." We laid in eachother's warm embrace and enjoyed eachother's company. After so many years of lonelyness i forgot the definition of lonelyness itself. I believe I have found my purpose in life.
"Thank you" I said softly. I shedded a tear droplet that traveled slowly down my neck.
Home sweet home....
"Silver wake up, I do believe this filly that is in your current care longs for you."
"Hugh, what?"
"Your in a dream and I'm here to talk to you."
I sat there silently and thought for a moment. How does she know about her, oh wait she probably went into her dreams before mine. She is the protector of fillies dreams.
"I'm here to talk to you about this filly, it seems as if she sees you as her father." I hope he understands what I'm saying...
"Why yes I am aware of that." I think I know where she is going with this.
The environment felt like an illusion, purple and blue skies swirled like a whirlpool above. Only an apple tree was present with Princess Luna infront of it. Boy this is odd.
"Silver in her dreams she remembered how you held her in your hooves, you fed her and kept her clean. When she cried blood you wiped away her tears. She is emotionally attached to you and she has no memory about her past or who are her parents." Hopefully he understands that he has the capability of taking this foal as his own..
"I discovered the fact that she was without a guardian when I looked at her medical history, she was in Pony Ville's local hospital after all. Luckily she was in the care of nurse redheart a trusted assistant of mine." What would I do without her...
"She is very good at what she does, you picked the right pony for the right job."
"Thank you."
"Back to the filly, you are also emotionally attached to her as well. Is this not true?"
"With all honesty Luna I have no family left what so ever and I need someone to care for. I've always wanted to be a teacher, an example for a young one. When I was a colt I was always looked to by my cousins whenever they needed my attention. It felt good and being able to help them out was even better! But when you can live for 257 years, it just gets lonely. You know what I mean?"
"Yeah, I've been sent to the moon for a thousand moons. It changed me indefinetly."
"So luna, what do you propose I do?"
"It is already within your heart, do so when the time is right."
I felt a warm object laying idley in my hooves as I stretched my legs in bed. What ever it was it poked my chest like a fine, small bump that nudged me when I stretched.
"Yawwwnnnn...... Oh goodness its already morning? Welp better get a shower in."
"Da?"
What in the world, did I hear something or was that just my aged brain gone psycho. All I know is that this is my room and I'm in bed. Who could possibly be with me?
"Da da."
"Da da?" I looked down and a red and gray mane taking up most of my view. A fresh strawberry fragrance filled the room, probably from the filly "Yes dear?"
She slowly pulled out of my chest and stared at me vacuosly with her big light brown eyes.
"Ah!" She opened her mouth a little and held it open for a few seconds.
"It seems to me we have agreed on our next move, breakfast. But before we get some ponycakes let's get you freshened up!"
