The Story Of Many
Sunset Flame

Sunset groaned as she sat up in her bed. It was another morning for her, in her small, yet comfy house. It was located somewhere along the west of town square. She got up and exit ted her bedroom door and went to her kitchen. She turned on the lights and got a few strawberries and munched on them. Once she was done with the strawberries, she got to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She saw her mane, which was red, then orange, yellow, and then blue at the end, just like a sunset. There was a small bell near the end as well. Her coat was olive and it turned blue at her hooves. Her eyes were a kind of dark violet. She brushed her teeth with her magic, and once she was done, she went outside and breathed in the fresh air. Today, was a new day. She remembered that today was her day off. She was usually a firefighter, but it was mostly a part-time job. She usually does other things like, help out Fluttershy with her animals, help out Twilight rearrange her books in her castle, and sometimes help the Cakes. She trotted towards the sugary looking building known as Sugarcube Corner. She smiled at the fresh smell of pastries. Flames couldn't work here today though. Everyone she helped yesterday said that she needed a day off. Of coarse, she tried to object, but each time she was given puppy eyes. She rolled her eyes at a few, but couldn't object to Fluttershy. She looked at the menu. There were many pastries that were delicious sounding. The door opens. Flames looks over and sees a yellow bat-pony tired, and wobbly.
"Hey Cakes," he said.
"Ah, morning Bonebeat, what would you like today?" Asked Ms. Cake.
"Um, I would like some cupcakes please, extra sugar," he answered groggily.
"Something important that happens today?" Asked Ms Cake, tilting her head.
"Yeah, I'm meeting some friends today, we will meet up at town square and then decide on where to hang out," he said rubbing his eyes.
"Uh-huh, hey Sunset? Could you do me a small favor?" Flames smiled and nodded at Ms Cake. "Could you fix his order? I would, but I'm supposed to make a cake for a party Pinkie is planning," she said. Flames nodded and went to the kitchen. She breathed in all the delicious smells and exhaled slowly. It smells like heaven. She quickly filled out the stranger's order. She looked at the pony and noticed he wore a red jacket. She looked at the cupcake and used her magic to give the cupcake the color red. She put on yellow icing, seeing that his coat was yellow. She got out and gave the red cupcake with extra sugar to the yellow bat pony.
"Um, hey. One, thank you, two, why is it red?" He asks.
"Well, I saw that you problably liked red, so I put in some coloring," Flames answered.
"Awesome! Thanks!" He instantly dug into it. He finished it in a few second! He wiped his mouth and blushed. "Excuse me, my name's Bonebeat by the way," he said handing out his hoof.
"My name's Sunset Flames," she replied, shaking his hoof. She looked at his eyes and she tilted her head. His eyes are different than any other ponies. Beside the fact they were catlike, they seemed soulless.
"What? Is something wrong with my eyes?" Bonebeat asks.
"Huh? Oh no, they're just a little..."
"Strange?" Bonebeat asks.
"Yeah, they're just a little strange," Flames said. She felt bad as soon as he frowned.
"Yeah, I've got to fix them," he said looking down.
"Oh no no no, they're fine, just strange," Flames said immediately.
"Yeah, ponies say that I'm fine the way I am, but I don't believe them. Hey, um what does your cutie mark mean?" He asks pointing at Flames' cutie mark, which was a flame behind a sunset.
"As far as I know, it means that I'm good with helping ponies, especially when it comes to fires," she answered. Bonebeat brightened up.
"So you're like a firefighter or something?" He asks. Flames nodded smiling.
"Yeah, I honestly like to help as many ponies as I can," she says. Bonebeat looked at the clock. It looked like it was made of gingerbread. It was almost noon.
"Oh man, I need to go, it was nice meeting you Sunset!" Bonebeat said waving as he left. Flames waved back smiling. She finally took her order, which was a doughnut filled with jelly. She soon left and decided to take a nice stroll in the park. She passed the town hall as she left and was soon in the park. The park was nice and peaceful today. She soon heard someone calling her name. She looked left, to see that a familiar yellow bat-pony was waving her over. She smiled and walked over, passing a picnic and a few ponies playing frisbee. Bonebeat and two other ponies were sitting on a blanket for what looks like a picnic.
"Hey Sunset! I didn't know you knew Bonebeat!" Said Flames' friend Violet. Sitting next to her was the heart doctor.
"Well, I only met him today," Flames answered.
"Oh, you two are friends? Cool!" Bonebeat said. The doctor chuckled.
"Bonebeat, you're too happy when you get a friend!" Doc said.
"Well duh! I live on the outskirts of Ponyville! Probably just about more than ten meters away! Making friends is very hard for me," he says smiling. Flames can't remember what the doc's name was.
"So, doc, how have you been?" Flames asks.
"Please, call me Heart," he says rolling his eyes. His name was Shadow Heart! Sunset thought. She nodded and sat next to Bonebeat. Bonebeat got out some apples and passed them out. He didn't get anything else out and starts chomping on the apple.
"Um, Beat? Where is everything else?" Asked Violet. Bonebeat stopped.
"Well, I am not exactly paid too much, yeah I can get some stuff from Sugarcube, but recently, things were just, out of hand. I couldn't afford anything other than apples today," he says explaining.
"So I'm not going crazy then," said Heart rubbing his hoof under his chin.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Asked Sunset.
"Well, recently, Luna has been attempted on, and was almost killed. Celestia recently is getting a little worried," he said.
"Why? What could she be worried about?" Asked Violet raising an eyebrow.
"Well, there's been word about recent attacks. Recent ones dealing with changelings. I think that somepony should do something about it. Hey Bonebeat, do you know Luna by any chance?" Heart asked.
"No, why?" Bonebeat asks raising an eyebrow.
"Do you know how to message her at least?" He asks. Bonebeat shook his head.
"Sorry, the bat-ponies may be the civilians for Luna to rule, but we don't much communication with her. Not saying that she doesn't talk to us, but we don't have many problems to complain about," he said. Heart scratched his hoof.
"Well, in that case, I think we are going on a trip," Heart said.
"I'm game," Violet said. "It turns out that the boutique is closed for a week. So I have time to kill," Violet said.
"I think I can come, that is if Vinyl is okay with it," Bonebeat said.
"I don't think I can come guys, but it's getting dark, so I'm gonna have to go," Flames said looking at the slow sunset. The others nodded and they quickly left. Little did they know, they were being watched.
