“I can’t wait to get back to Ponyville,” Twilight Sparkle said, looking out the train window. Closing her book on dragon puberty, she made her way to the cabin doors. “It was fun helping open the new Canterlot Library, but I just can’t wait to see the girls again! Right Spike? Spike?”
Giggling for a moment, Spike looked from his comic book. “Huh? Oh, oh! Yeah, can’t wait to, uh.”
Twilight rolled her eyes. “Our friends Sp—Woah!”The train stopped causing Twilight to fall forward.“What happened?”
“Attention Passengers!” announced the conductor over the intercom. “We’re sorry for the sudden stop but there appears to be a fight going on at the Ponyville train station.”
“A fight?” Prying open the doors with her magic, Twilight jumped out of the locomotive and looked toward the train station, the sight making her eyes widen.
“I will end you!” shrieked a mohawked Rarity, sending a beam of energy at an even weirder sight.
“Not if I end you first!” shouted an albino Rainbow Dash, dodging the beam. “You’re gonna pay for what you did!”
All awhile on the road laid a frightened Fluttershy, a popcorn eating Pinkie, and an annoyed looking Applejack. “Would ya’ll just stop fighting for a moment!?” Applejack looked down towards the train and saw Twilight and Spike. “Oh thank Celestia yer back!”
Knowing what had to be done, Twilight powered up her horn and encased Rarity and Rainbow Dash in a bubble, bringing them close she scowled. “What are you girls doing?!”
“She started it!” Rainbow Dash pointed at Rarity.
“If anypony should held responsible for this, it should be this savage!” Rarity replied, trying to press her mane down.
Twilight took a deep breath, opened her mouth wide and, “Enough!” she said in the Royal Canterlot voice. Both Rarity and Rainbow Dash stopped and stared at Twilight with bewilderment. “Now Applejack, can you be the first to tell me what’s going on?”
. “It all started about a week ago when you already left for that opening…”

“...The night you left for Canterlot was when a rogue tornado swept through the outskirts of Ponyville, nopony got hurt but one house did get blown away...literally.”
“Hiya girls.” Sitting down on the picnic blanket she took out an apple and bit into it. “So did ya’ll see that tornado yesterday?”
Rarity nodded. “Indeed, why on Celestia’s green earth why there was one is beyond me. Do you know Fluttershy?”
Fluttershy stopped chewing on her daisy sandwich and swallowed. “Oh no, from what I heard it was a rogue tornado.”
“It was so pretty!” Pinkie said, chomping down on her cupcake. “When the lighting hit it, it was like fireworks!”
Applejack noticed something, or rather somepony, was missing. “Hey where’s Rainbow Dash? That tornado was close to where she lives. Wait, ya’ll don’t think…”
“Think what?” Rainbow Dash said, zooming down. “Something wrong?”
Fluttershy quickly embraced Rainbow Dash. “We were worried you got hurt by the tornado from last night!”
Rainbow Dash swiped her hoof down. “Pfft, please, it takes a lot more than a tornado to take down the most awesome pony in Ponyville,” she said, with her hoof against her chest.
“Oh, that’s nice darling.” Rarity sipped at her tea.
“Of course my house went missing.”
“What!?” cried out Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Applejack before looking at Rarity.
Patting her lips with a napkin Rarity looked at the stares. “A lady does not spray her tea, however what do you mean by your house went missing?”
“Eh, since my house is made of clouds it doesn’t get torn away but blown away. The weather team is sending some ponies to find it but till then I guess I’m just gonna have to stay with somepony.” Rolling her eyes towards Applejack, she coughed.
A loud gulp was heard from within the confines of Applejack’s throat. “Uh, that might be a problem sugarcube, see my second cousin Pear Bear is using the guest room and the animals have the flu in the barn.”
“Oh!” Pinkie jumped up and down with her hoof raised. “You can stay with me! It’ll be so fun! We’ll play games, have cake, cuddle, raid Applejack’s cider—”
“Ah, say what now?”
Pinkie slapped her hooves over her mouth. “Nothing.”
“Yeah, about that.” Rainbow Dash rubbed her neck slowly. “I don’t think I can take another one of your party sleepovers, I still have frosting in my, you know that’s not important. How about you Fluttershy?”
Putting down her tea, Fluttershy glanced at all the eyes on her. “Oh, um, well, um, you see, um, well, um, I don’t think Barry the bear has forgiven you quite yet for, um, your fight with him last time.”
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. “Please, he knew what he was doing when he tried to eat my mane.”
“Well ah guess that leaves only you Rares.”
Rarity blinked in surprise. “Me? Well I suppose with Sweetie Belle out of town I do have an extra room, I suppose—”
Rainbow Dash zoomed up and threw her hooves outward. “Woah, woah, maybe I’ll just stay at a hotel.”
Rarity giggled. “Oh heavens no, what friend would I be to let you stay at some dismal inn?”
Rainbow Dash dropped onto the ground and walked over to Rarity. “You sure it won’t be a problem?”
“Of course not darling, in fact it might be interesting. We never get to spend time with each other.”
“Huh.” Rainbow Dash tapped her head. “Huh, I guess we haven’t, eh, why not?”
“Splendid! I’ll see you at two.”
“If only we knew what would happen when we let those two stay in the same place.”
“Relax Tank, yeah it’s no cloud, but how bad could it be?” Tank only blinked as Rainbow Dash knocked on the boutiques door. “Rarity?”
The door opened to reveal Rarity at work. “Sorry Darling.” Dropping the measuring tape she smiled. “Well don’t just stand there, come in with your...things.” She looked at the items Rainbow Dash had brought with her and raised an eyebrow. “Eh, where are your things Rainbow Dash? Is a cart bringing them later?”
Rainbow Dash smirked. “All the things I own were blown away with the house, but not Tank or my Daring Do and the river of gloom here, right buddy?” Tank merely yawned and blinked. “That’s right. So where’s my room?”
“Oh it’s upstairs, but.” Rarity put her hoof in front of Rainbow Dash. “Let me just read you the rules first.”
“Rules? Who are you, Twilight?”
Rarity chuckled at the idea. “Of course not darling, I’m nothing like Twilight. These are just the rules I give Sweetie Belle everytime when she comes over. Ehem.” Taking out a rolled up parchment she let it go, the whole thing went out the door and across the lawn. “Rule number one, lights out at eight-forty five…” This went on for four hours which eventually led to rule eight hundred and thirty six. “Dinner is served as six o’clock, oh! Speaking of which I should get ready, your room is upstairs down the hallway and is the last door on the right.”
“Uh huh,” Rainbow Dash said, nodding in a near sleep like state. “Right room down the waffle got it.” Heading upstairs she came to Sweetie Belle’s room and the sight made her throw up in her mouth. Teddy bears, a tea set, and a bunch of frilly pillows and blankets. “Dear Celestia, what is it with this family fancy stuff?” Putting Tank on the most frilly pillow she noticed something on the floor. “Is that a photo of that gamer colt? And why does it have lipstick on—”
“Rainbow Dash!” shouted Rarity from the bottom of the stairs. “Dinner is ready!”
Zooming down the stairs, Rainbow Dash sat at the dinner table awaiting her food, but found something else. “Uh, Rarity? What’s this?” Presented before her was what appeared to be small cubes (as in there was one on both plates) of tofu with basil leafs on them.
“This is blah blah.” Is what Rainbow heard Rarity say. “It’s a Prench dish with all the worth all the nutritious value of a plate of carrots.”
“Uh huh.” Rainbow Dash sniffed at the blah blah and bit into it and finished her meal all in one. “Uh, delicious, mind if I use your shower?”
Rarity finished her first slice of blah blah and patted her mouth. “Of course darling, just remember rule thirty eight. Alright?”
“Yeah, yeah.” Flying out of the room she headed over to the bathroom and the sight made her gag, slightly less so than before. “Frilly curtains? Lavender soap? Perfume!? Forget it, I’m gonna just get this over with.” After taking her shower she made her way to the top of the stairs where she could see Rarity finishing her last slice of blah blah. “Rarity I’m gonna head to bed. K kay?”
“Of course, I’m going to just take my shower and read for a bit,” Rarity said, putting the dishes away. Heading upstairs to the shower she thought about how the day had gone so far. Hmm, despite everything I must say Rainbow Dash is quite the reasonable roommate, I wonder if I can get her to come to the spa again! Opening the bathroom door she noticed something was wrong. “Wait, she broke rule twenty nine, forgetting to open the window when taking a shower, oh well. As long as she didn’t break rule thirty eight.” Opening the shower curtain she saw a sight that would haunt her for the rest of her days, a sacred law had been broken that night, one that should never even be bent. “Ahhhhhhhh!” Laying on her bar of soap were strands of red and blue mane.
The next morning was not any better.
“Mmm, Captain Horseshoe,” Rarity murmured in her sleep. “Of course I’ll—Hm?” She shot up in bed. “Is that burning hay? But Sweetie Belle isn’t here, unless, oh Celestia no!” Rushing from bed she raced downstairs to the sight of Rainbow Dash in the middle of extinguishing what would later have turned out to be a bowl of oats. “Rainbow Dash! What i’s going on?!”
Rainbow Dash took off her wielding mask and glanced side to side. “Nothing?”
Rarity groaned. “If you just wanted some breakfast you could’ve just asked.”
Rainbow Dash chuckled. “Eh, yeah, sorry about that. Listen I gotta get to my job, see ya!” And with that, she zoomed out the door.
Rarity sighed. “Well she meant well at least, I mean, wait a second.” Sniffing the air she gasped, she rushed to the high cabinets and opened them. “Dear Celestia! She used my imported oats! She must be punished!” But how? But then an idea emerged from within the darkest corners of Rarity’s mind, a wonderful idea. “That should work.”

“Sheesh, when will Rarity learn more food is better food?” Rainbow Dash said, hovering over to the guest rooms chair. “Now then let’s see what happens to you now Daring Do—Ahh!”
Before Rainbow’s eyes were the words to one of the most mushiest of scenes in the history of literature. Closing the book she gasped for breath, she took off the book cover and saw it was a romance novel. “Where in tartarus did this come from!?” She flipped to the first page and saw the words, ‘to Rarity from blah blah’. “Rarity.” Soaring downstairs she came face to face with the mare whilst she was in the middle of the dishes. “You did this!”
Rarity took off her designer rubber gloves and sighed. “Yes I did, I’m not pleased with it, but you had to be punished.”
“Punished?” Rainbow Dash shrugged. “What did I even do?”
Rarity’s eyes widened. “You broke two rules and burnt my kitchen!”
“And you think this gives you the right, for this!” Rainbow Dash held the book out and threw it to the ground. “You do know what this means, right?”
Rarity beamed. “That you’re going to start following the rules?”
Rainbow Dash chuckled darkly. “No, it means we’re in a prank war.”
Rarity yelled, “A prank war? I have much more important stuff to do than indulge in your foalish games.”
“Oh, we’ll see, we’ll see,” Rainbow Dash said, while walking into a dark corner. “Also your light’s broken over here.

Waking up from her sleep Rarity felt....weird. “Something's wrong. What did—My drapes!” Rushing to her window she tore off the thing that had replaced her original drapes. “This is baby colt blue! Not nebula purple!” A frightening notion entered her mind. What if somepony saw them!? Opening the window her pupils dilated at she stared at a waving Derpy.
“Hi Rarity!” Derpy said, shutting Rarity’s mailbox. “I love your new drapes!”
Rarity opened her mouth wide and screamed.

“Woah, woah! She did not scream! And why do I sound all weirdly?” Rainbow Dash said, still trying to pierce the bubble.
“And I do not talk like that!” Rarity said, putting one of her spikes down, only for it to go right back up.
Applejack sighed. “That’s what she told me.”
“Actually I think Rarity dd scream.” Fluttershy held her hoof up. “My little critters kept howling during that morning.”
“Anyway, this is what happened next.”

“Rainbow Dash!” Rarity shouted with white flames in her eyes as she shook a laughing Rainbow Dash. “I will end you!”
“Hah!” Rainbow Dash squirmed out of Rarity’s grasp. “I told you this was war, and you aren’t gonna have a chance to get back at me!”
Rarity slowly grew a smile. “Oh, you are quite mistaken darling, quite mistaken indeed,” she said, slowly walking back into a lit corner. “Oh right, that only works at night.”
Later that day,
“Woo!” Rainbow said, wiping the sweat from her brow. “I can’t believe Sugar Coat made us work hard like that, oh well.” Spying Sweet Apple Acres on the horizon, she smiled. “A nice nap can’t hurt.” Zooming down to her favorite tree she laid under the leafs. “Aw, this is the life.”
Just as she was about to close her eyes she felt a disturbance in her slumber. “Huh?” The leaves and apples shaked like tiny dogs, vibrating in fear. “What’s going—Woah!” Falling of the branch she hit the ground with a thud. “What just happened?” Her eyes went upward where she met face to face with Big Mac. “Why did you do that for?”
“Sorry Miss Dash, but you aren’t allowed to sleep in our trees any longer,” he said, moving over to the next tree.
Rainbow Dash felt like she had been hit by a train. “Wh-what?” Suddenly she heard a familiar chuckle. Behind the tree where Big Mac was at shot out a white hoof holding what appeared be photos of Big Mac in a sun hat having tea with Twilight’s doll before giving them to Big Mac. Rainbow bared her teeth like a timber wolf. “Rarity!”

“Bill, bill, junk, bill.” Rarity flipped through her mail with as much enthusiasm as a sloth until a familiar symbol caught her eye. “What’s this? The stamp of—” She gasped. “—Mistress Linen Silk?!” She tore open the letter with ravenous hunger. “Dear Rarity, I Mistress Linen Silk would like to have brunch with you at...the hayburger? Love Linen Silk, P.S order every item on the menu for me.” Rarity thought for a moment. And odd place to be, but I won’t disappoint you senpai!” Rushing to the restaurant she immediately ordered everything and got a booth. Minutes passed but nobody arrived. “Where could she be?” Out of the corner of her eye a flash went off. Looking for the source she saw Rainbow Dash with a camera, Rarity was confused for a moment until she saw the eleven o’clock newspaper. “Fashionista is fat eater!?” Rarity knew what she had to do.
Later that day,
“Come on Daring, you can escape.” A loud slam from the carousels front door startled Rainbow Dash. Looking up she saw Rarity whistling before pouring a cup of tea. “Huh?”
Sipping at the tea, Rarity smiled. “You know the oddest thing happened today, I was visiting a friend in Cloudsdale when I ran into a friend of my father, you might know him. Rainbow Blitz.”
Rainbow grimaced. Dad? She slowly put down the book.
“Anyway, we talked for a bit and one thing led to another…” Rarity grinned.
Realization dawned on Rainbow Dash. “You didn’t.”
“Oh.” Rarity sipped her tea. “But I did.”
Meanwhile at the Rainbow Dash fan club,
“We got an important visitor today!” said Scootaloo to the others. “Presenting the father of our hero! Rainbow Blitz!”
“Hi kids!” Rainbow Blitz said, holding an album book. “Anypony wanna see Rainbow Dash as a foal?”

“Mmm, aw.” Rarity sipped at her tea gently as Fluttershy tapped her hooves across the room. “Thank you again Fluttershy darling for inviting me to your house for tea, but may I ask why so out of the blue?”
“Oh, um, no reason.” FLuttershy looked down for a moment before sipping at her tea. “It’s just, well, I heard you and, um, Rainbow Dash have been fighting.”
Rarity slapped her cup onto the table, emitting a small squeak from the pegasus. “Oh, that? It’s nothing, just two friends having some fun with each other.”
“Oh, well, that’s nice.” Fluttershy sipped at her tea before a raised eyebrow from angel made her stop. “But, don’t you think it’s gotten out of hoof?”
Rarity giggled tensely. “Don’t be silly dear, all I need is for Rainbow Dash to be—” Her smile grew widely, a feeling of darkness sucked all the light out of the room. “—CRUSHED.”
Fluttershy peeked her head out behind her couch and nodded. “Okay.”
Meanwhile at Sugar Cube Corner,
“Hmm, isn’t this tasty Rainbow Dash?” Applejack said, diving into her apple pie. “Not quite as good as granny’s but pretty darn close,” she whispered with a wink.
“Eh.” Rainbow Dash pushed her fruit salad away. “I’m not that hungry. By the way, why am I here? You never invite me to, uh, what’s this called?”
“Brunch.” Applejack frowned when she saw Rainbow scratch her head. “I tried it once with Rarity and it was fun, speaking of Rarity—”
“Ugh!” Rainbow Dash threw up her hooves. “The last thing I wanna talk about is that prissy pony.”
“Isn’t it time ya’ll forgive one another and stop all this prank nonsense? Things are starting to get out of hoof.”
“Oh.” Rainbow Dash chuckled darkly. “You haven’t seen nothing yet.”
Applejack just sighed. What is it with this town?

As the light broke into the window, Rarity felt odd. “Why is it colder than usual?” making her way to the bathroom she felt like something was missing. “It’s probably….” Looking into her mirror she saw a sight that would haunt her dreams for eternity, like a gang member her once beautiful mane had been turned into a spiky mohawk. “I’ll kill her.”
Meanwhile in the shower downstairs,
“Hehe, I can’t wait to see Rarity’s face when she see’s that haircut.” Getting out of the shower Rainbow Dash made her way over to the mirror, her jaw dropping at the image before her. “My mane and coat!” What had once been a light blue and rainbow colored mane had now been dyed pure white. “But how?” Glancing to the shower she saw the water was more whiter than usual. “Oh, she is dead.”
Both rushed out of their respective washrooms and met at the foot of the stairs.
“Rainbow Dash what is the meaning of this!?” Rarity pointed at her mohawk. “Do you know how hard it is to make my mane that good!?”
“Who care’s about your mane! You dyed me all white!” Rainbow Dash squinted her eyes. “Wait, why do you have white dye anyway?”
Rarity’s pupils went small. “That’s, uh, not important.”
The lightbulb above Rainbow Dash flickered on. “You're not really white!”
Rarity sputtered. “W-what? That’s not true!”
“Oh, just wait till the other’s hear about this!” Rainbow Dash flew out the door to Rarity horror.
“Not if I kill you first!” Rarity said, speeding out the door.
*****
“Anyway, the two of them started fighting in the street and we got led out here, and that’s what happened.” Applejack clutched at her hat as a breeze came by.
Twilight nodded. “I see, okay, listen girls. You need to apologize to each other right now.”
“I’ll never forgive this ruffian!” snarled Rarity.
“Me either!” shouted Rainbow Dash.
“Oh, come on guys, you’re frie—Omph!” A newspaper hit Spike. “Huh? What, oh no.”
Twilight followed his gaze and gasped, a rogue tornado was heading towards them. “Everypony, get cov—Ahhh!” She and Spike were quickly picked up by the current along with Applejack, Pinkie and Fluttershy.
Meanwhile, Rarity and Rainbow Dash got into a ditch and looked up at the cyclone. “We gotta do something!” said Rainbow Dash.
Rarity nodded. “I’ll levitate them out, you stop that tornadoe.” Quickly pumping hooves they went into action, Rarity immediately threw a magical lasso around the group and pulled them into the ditch, Rainbow Dash sped around counterclockwise slowing the rogue tornado until it dissipated and revealed something else.
“Hey! My house!” Rainbow Dash flew down to Rarity where she was helping the girls get up. “So, um, Rarity?”
Rarity stopped trying to stop pinkie from spinning and looked up. “Yes?”
“Um, I’m kinda sorry for being a bad roommate.”
Rarity shook her head. “No, if anypony should apologize it should be me for being a bad hostess.”
“I guess we just don’t have much in common.”
Gaining her sense of balance Twilight smiled. “Well there is something you two have in common, helping your friends.”
Rarity and Rainbow Dash looked at each other for a moment before grinning. “Truce? Truce.”
Coming in for a hug, a thought came to Rarity. “Um, darling this mohawk will go away right?”
“Yeah, will this dye?”
“You can use my shower to wipe it away,” Rarity said as she and Rainbow Dash embraced.
