Sweetie Belle on Earth - An Interactive Story
The journey when heading North
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI sighed, "Well, let's go to the north."
For some reason when I thought of Red Bud and St. Louis, they were probably a major city. I was just hoping that this city was at least similar to Canterlot. Maybe it was, but I really wasn't too sure. I really couldn't make a comparison because I have never seen this kind of city. With this black slab on the ground, there is no telling of what I might see.
I took a deep breath and followed the black slab closely so I could make my way out of the woods. Once I was out into the clear, there were a bunch of crops, corn to be exact. This caused my neck to hurt just a bit because the corn was taller than I was. It was a good thing there were crops here, now I don't have to worry about being seen. Just as long as I don't eat the corn... My stomach growled within me and I rolled my eyes.
"Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have just one corn on a cob?" I asked myself.
Trying my magic again, I saw my green aura surrounding the cob for a moment then it disappeared. I groaned in response, it feels like my magic was on some kind of reset. Meaning when I used magic, it had the strength of a filly. If that was the case, then it would be a long while before I get my magic back up to normal. Shaking my head slightly, I stood up on my back hooves and ripped out the cob out of its stem. I eat it slowly because it was very dry and hard for some reason. Why would the farmers grow a huge crop of corn just to dry it out?
'So many questions, yet so little time.' I thought as I finished eating the corn.
Feeling satisfied with my breakfast, I galloped into the crops and didn't stop. I knew that there was a river to my left so I could replenish myself and there is corn all around me to feed me. I was pretty sure the farmers wouldn't mind me eating a few of their corn so that way I didn't starve myself.
After a few minutes of galloping, I realized something... This farm is HUGE! Just when I was in the clearing of the crops, I run into another set of crops. Thinking back, when I was in the woods, I thought that the fields were empty and full of grass, but now I knew that the fields were none other than the corn crops. Looking at these crops made me think about Equestria, specifically the lesson about Agriculture.
'Now class, we're here today about Agriculture.' Miss Cheerilee announced.
'Why are we learning about plants, Miss Cheerilee?' Featherweight asked.
Apple Bloom spoke, 'It's because we need to grow crops, harvest and spread it to everypony. Right, Miss Cheerilee?"
'That's right! Who knows where corn is grown in Equestria?' She asked.
I raised my hoof up and spoke, 'Is it at the Unicorn Range?'
Cheerilee nodded, 'That's correct. The reason why corn is grown in the Unicorn range is because Unicorns have to tend to the corn when it's fully grown and harvestable. Earth Pony's can grow corn here in Ponyville, but only in small quantities because the soil here isn't very fertile than it is at the Unicorn Range.'
I shook my head to get the memories out, it was either I was dehydrated or I was slowly getting homesick. I looked around my surroundings to see that I was in another clearing. Maybe it was a maintenance road of some kind, but I really didn't know, nor did I care. I turned left to head towards the river and when I saw it for the second time, it was in the crops. Something was wrong with this river, it was either there was a very heavy downpour up North; thus to make the water line come inland or this was somewhat natural.
'Not my issue, and I don't plan to get involved in it.' I confirmed myself as I walked into the river and took more drinks.
When I got out of the water, I let the sun dry me off as I continued where I left off. By the next hour or so, I was getting sick from the sight of corn. Once I got into the clearing, I blinked to get my eyes adjusted for the scenery. There were no more crops of corn anymore, but it was replaced by fields upon fields of wheat. In the distance, I saw a town with many houses surrounding it, but I frowned upon seeing it.
"Those building's don't look Equestrian..." I muttered.
I wish that I had my binoculars so I could see what was over there. I didn't want to be seen. I took cover behind the tall wheat to observe the black slab and the town from afar. I noticed that a lot of those motor carriages were heading in and out of the city in different speeds. Maybe it was because of the 'mph' number signs? I really don't know, but I need to get a closer look at this situation.
I stood up from cover to trot towards the mysterious looking town to only find a sign right next to the slab.
Welcome to Red Bud
Population 3,600
Three thousand and six hundred?! That's impossible! How can so many ponies live in one place? I know this isn't Ponyville, which has around five hundred residents, but this is ridiculous! I look to my left to see that the sun was going down and it's getting close to night time. I really don't fancy sleeping in a pile of leaves again. The one thing I did is that I continued on towards North. Once I was within fifty hooves away from the city, I observed the town and what I found surprised me.
The residents of this town weren't Pony's they were Bipedal hairless apes. They were walking around the town in some sort of clothing and were wearing something to protect their feet. I almost screamed when I saw them, but I knew I had to stay quiet in order not to get caught. I had to get back to think of a new plan of action. This isn't Equestria, this is something different and new. I became scared, knowing that this wasn't my home, I really became nervous.
I slowly crawl back into the wheat fields and tried not to get seen by the apes. If they knew how to make a carriage to be pulled by itself and have their own towns, then who knows what they do to... I can't believe I'm using this term... Who knows what they do with aliens. I look to my left again and the sunset had already ended, but it left a nice pinkish yellowish scenery. Enough about the beauty of the sky, I needed to go find some shelter.
It seemed my luck was on my side for a moment, I saw an abandoned barn in the distance surrounded in the wheat crops. I decided to get going and went inside the barn. I tried to use magic once more for a light source and it finally happened. No pain, no duds, my magic was working as a light. It was not as bright, but the light was strong enough to illuminate the inside. I panned my head around and saw a bunch of hay bales inside. I sighed with relief and ate some of the hay. It was fresh, so whoever gathered the hay bales in this building, did this recently.
Feeling satisfied, I scan around the barn for quick escapes. There was a triangle hole that I could squeeze into, a side door that looked jammed and a broken window I could jump over. I felt more comfortable being in this barn and chose to lie down on top of the bale to get some sleep. Another night away from my home and I'm starting to get more frightened about what will happen to me. All of this worrying made me feel tired and I fell into a deep sleep.
It was the next morning and I was interrupted by a loud rumble. My eyes shot open when I heard the barn doors opening. I immediately got up to my hoofs and dashed out the window to escape. The morning sun struck my eyes, blinding me for a second, but my hooves continue to gallop into the wheat fields. Feeling out of breath, I plop myself into the fields to recuperate my mind. After a few minutes, I finally was able to think straight. I look over the field to see a huge metal monster that was connected to a white rectangular box with wheels.
The creatures were loading the hay bales to the truck with a contraption. I didn't pay too much attention to them because I still needed to head north. I snuck away from the farm and headed towards the river for another drink. When I saw the water, I galloped all the way to get a drink because my throat was dry. Though I regret my decision.
"A PONY!!!" A young female gasped.
I froze, turned my head and looked where the voice was. To my left was a small creature with long hair running towards me. While in the background two more creatures, probably the parents, running after her. Out of fear, I cast my teleportation spell back into the wheat field. It worked, but when I got to the field, I collapsed. I felt that my energy was drained instantly, my consciousness was going in and out. It seemed that my magic was back, but if I used my magic for a strong spell, it would deplete. The last thing I saw was two shadowing figures towering over me.
When I finally awakened, I was in an unfamiliar place. For one, I was in somepony's house, specifically in a room on their bed. I said 'their' because the scent on the blanket and pillow were somewhat unpleasant. I felt my magic aura was back to normal, to some extent and I now know not to use the teleportation spell while I was here... Where ever here is.
Though, that's not all. My attention was caught by these posters on the wall. The posters were ordinary, they were from Equestria, but they're a form of art. One poster that got my attention was the Ponytones, Big Macintosh, Rarity, Toe-Tapper, and Torch Song. This poster was a painting and what was right next to it was the CMC picture of us running into Ponyville.
'Creepy, but beautiful at the same time.' I thought.
How does this world know about Equestria? I could tell that there were no other pony's like me out there. The evidence is right in front of me, but I was still skeptical. Now that I thought about it, I was in a colts room. I kind of quivered all over just thinking that this colt slept on this bed. It kind of disturbed me. I sat back up and looked around the room. What surprised me, some sort, it's that the room was clean. To my right, was a desk that had a strange rectangular box and a monitor right next to it. To my left, was just the dresser and a nightstand with an alarm clock.
My ears twitched when I heard something from the other side of the door. Feeling curious, I hopped out of the bed gently and tipped hoofed towards the door. I put my ear against the door to listen to the other side.
"Why do you have your door closed?" A mare asked.
"I have a friend over, she's a little exhausted from the beach trip." A stallion explained.
"Oh! Who is this girl?" She asked.
"Her name is... Bell." He said.
'How does he know my name?' I asked inwardly. Maybe it's just a cover up to keep me a secret? Though why would a stallion or a colt protect me from their parents? Unless... I look back to the posters and something else caught my eye. A sculpture of me on the desk that was hidden behind the black box. I walked backward as my brain realized where I was. I'm in a house with a stalker.
It might be just judging from the look of the room, but what else can I assume? No... Maybe he's a nice pony and has a cutie mark for making art. Though to justify this, I need to snoop around. I panned my head around to find a closet and cast my levitation spell to open the door quietly. 'I hope he wouldn't mind.' I thought as I looked through his boxes.
The first box that I opened was nothing but figurines that my friend Button Mash collects, but they were my friends in Ponyville. Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Applejack, etc... Nothing too creepy, just confirming that he is a sculptor. The next three boxes I opened had raised a few questions when I found nothing but myself in various forms of art. These 'boxes' were big enough to fit Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and me into it. I put everything back into the closet and closed it behind me.
Now I have a few options to think through. I had the choice to run away from this house to head north to St. Louis. Though I would be leaving whoever saved me from potential predators. Even if he is making all of these toys of me and other pony's sculpture. It's a little creepy that he would make the CMC as a form of art. If I left, I would leave a note on his desk to thank him.
Then there is the option of staying. My curiosity stayed with me when I grew up. I really wanted to know who my savior was. Why does he have art posters of things from Equestria. Speaking of which, when I looked out the window, I saw the wheat fields from all around. I knew that I wasn't in Equestria which increased my questions to ask him.
Whether I choose to stay or go, I've been already seen by the bipedal creatures. Also from what I could remember before I lost consciousness, there were no more crops from the north. So if I left I would be caught multiple times, either by the creatures or unknown predators.
"Alright mom, I need to check on Bell to see if she's awake." The same stallion shouted.
"Don't scare her and no funny business!" His mother told him.
It was that moment that I heard something from the other side. It was somepony's hoof steps coming towards the door. He is coming towards the room, I need to make a decision now.
