Ponyville, Equestria
It was mid-afternoon on a sunny Spring day in Ponyville, and Pinkie Pie was on her way from Sugarcube Corner to the local cafe.
" ooh, this meetup with Rainbow Dash is going to be so fun", the pink pony thought to herself as she approached the cafe.
Sitting at one of the tables, Rainbow Dash was sipping from a glass of soda.
" hiya Rainbow Dash", the excitable pink pony said, joining her friend.
" oh, hi, Pinkie, what's up", Rainbow asked as Pinkie took the seat next to her.
" oh, nothing much, Dashie. Just sold some AWESOME baked goods to a AMAZINGLY awesome couple", Pinkie replied.
" that's awesome, Pinkie. Say, do you remember the time we went to that human world", Rainbow asked.
" Yeah, I do, it was awesome and the humans we met were so kind," Pinkie replied.
Rainbow nodded and asked, " how do you think Max is doing"?
" I don't know, but I do miss him", Pinkie replied, sighing a little.
" yeah, me too, I hope hes doing well," Rainbow said.
London, England, 2016
In the year that had passed since the last time the Main Six had come to Earth, much had changed in the lives of John and Max.
A month after the Main Six left, John had caught Chris cheating on him, which led to a confrontation between Chris, John, and Max.
During the confrontation, Max had gotten into Chris's face and threatened him, and would have probably done something if John hadn't stopped.
The fight had driven a wedge in John's friendship with Max, and that combined with the heartbreak he felt from the cheating , had led John to become more isolated and distant.
At the same time, Max was missing Pinkie Pie and the Main Six a lot, which also caused him to be distant from John.
Because of this, when college started, John and Max got two separate dorms, but still close enough to see each other.
One Saturday, as they were heading back to their dorms, Max asked to John, " hey, buddy, what's up"?
Looking at his friend, John replied, " eh, not much".
" you still sad about Chris", Max asked.
John nodded and sighed.
" John, you need to let go of Chris, he was a wanker. Heck, he cheated on you, and you deserve better", Max explained.
" oh, what do you know, Max, you're the one who's still caught up on the Main Six", John snapped.
"oh, come on, John, at least they were decent friends", Max replied.
" Max, the Main Six aren't coming back! Let Pinkie go", John yelled back.
" oh, yeah?! Well at least I'm not still grieving over a cheater", Max replied angrily.
" At least I'm not the one who misses a cartoon character", John yelled back.
With an angry sigh, Max slammed the door to his dorm and John did the same.
