The mare dropped off her booth, not noticing Daring around the corner. She then swooped in and hid by the back of the vehicle, not letting herself be seen across the horizon, as her eyes followed the pony to a crowd. She took off her cloak and revealed herself: Trixie. Daring Do gasped. She then remembered why she seemed so familiar. Trixie. Thought she was better than Daring, and lost a fight. She bet she was gonna go to Ponyville and claim to be more powerful than Celestia. Wand and MoonDaring Do really wanted to help. But like before, Ponyville would have to settle things on its own. After a while, though, she couldn’t stand it. She went back to Ponyville in a jiffy, and went back to where Trixie’s booth was. Daring saw a teensy window, and then a door, with a wand and a moon. She went in... and saw a notebook with the same symbol. She looked out the window, and what looked like the same symbol was on that braggart’s flank. Daring Do then looked inside. Even though it could be private, it could also be very important. Secrets and LiesJuly 20, 2010 Dear diary, Ponies are teasing me in magic camp. They don’t think I’m powerful. They think I’m a magic hack. I’ll show them! In exactly ten years, I will show everyone that Trixie really is the highest level unicorn! I will begin to save... I’ll go from town to town before then, earn some more money... and then I’ll get something powerful to help guide me down the road to fame. Whaddaya say, diary? I think it’s a good plan. By until tomorrow! Daring shut the diary. July 20... that’s today! This must be what Trixie meant, she thought. She must be going from town to town now. But she also thought that this was Ponyville’s problem. However, she hadn’t been to Ponyville before, and she thought she might as well look around. She grabbed her A.K. Yearling outfit and threw it on, swung her purse around her, and headed out. The Map“All you need to do is find a few ingredients throughout Equestria. Here’s the map. It’ll tell you what you need to get.” The shop owner said, as he handed Daring a piece of paper. The first one was... a Pegasus feather. That’s easy enough. She just yanked one out. Next... a bright rainbow’s glow. At least her wings were okay. She just grabbed some from Cloudsdale. Next on the list... crystal corn from the crystal empire. Daring wanted to just get a ride on the crystal train, grab come corn, and came right back. But the ponies there were so nice, and they all loved A.K. Yearling so much. They all asked for autographs, so it kinda slowed her down. But, however, someone did offer some corn. So that’s another thing down. But the next thing was going to be very tricky... a coin from Griffonstone, 1999. Griffonstone was a long flight away. Daring Do flapped her wings as hard as she could, but Griffonstone was known for its wind, and the lost idol of Boreas. But she managed. And, of course, she had to carry lotsa bits. Stare MasterLast thing on the list? Feather of a Cockatrice. Those are in the Everfree forest. Head of a chicken, body of a snake. This’ll be tough. The Everfree forest was nearby. She went in there, and heard three little fillies saying, “here, chick chick chick...” and “Scootaloo, scoot, scoot, Scootaloo!” they seemed to be looking for a chicken. Great. Now she’ll get all confused. She looked around, and saw the top of a chicken. Whoop! But when she tried to get a feather, it turned out to be a chicken feather. But then she saw a snake tail, and tried to pull it. Dang, real snake. Until she came across a pony, who looked like that purple unicorn who thought her rightness was a doozie, but she was stone. And then she saw... that yellow pony from earlier? Must live in Ponyville. She was yakking to... something with a head of a chicken and a body of a snake. WHOOP! She just wanted to reach in and grab it, but didn’t want to be seen. She waited for the other Pegasus to leave, and just took that little feather that creature left when it ran away. Last one! PositiveDaring went back to that shop owner. She had everything she needed. He said she would have to put them all back into the mirror, and that should seal it up and turn it back to normal, plus make the glasses removable. So she went back home... And waited for the market to open up again. As soon as it did, she went over faster than the speed of sound, and to Madam Pinkie’s table. Without explaining anything, she dropped every artifact into the mirror, and took off her glasses, put them back on again, and took them off. IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!! And you know what else? A.K. Yearling later on got her own table, and started selling some new things. The Daring Do series, including its newest one, Daring Do and the mirror’s curse, and a little something else. Glasses of NEGATIVITY: Everything the opposite! The Future starts to LeakShe went down to a market to see what ponies were selling. She noticed a Madam with a little mirror on a stand. Madam Pinkie was her name. A.K. Yearling (wink wink) asked about Trixie, and if she should do something about it. Madam Pinkie looked into the mirror, and told her, “If you mess with that tricky mare, you will get cursed.” The madam tried to slam the table, but hit her mirror instead. Then it broke a teeny bit. The magic within it started bursting out the cracks, and it zapped the Pegasus’s glasses. Poof. They were gone. Pinkie had no clue where they went or what magic that was. A.K. Yearling put her hands in her pockets and took a step, ready to leave. But in her pockets were... her green glasses? Wow. They were red before. She put them on. Everything was negative. She then walked away, and tried to take them off. But they were stuck, and it was too late. That Madam was right. She messed with Trixie. She was cursed. Backwards and NegativeDaring Do looked into the mirror. She held up her right hoof, which was now blue. It showed her left hoof. Backwards and Negative. It made sense now. The magic mirror that showed the future... the magic inside it did this. But then Daring remembered, when she first saw it, it was just laying down on a table, facing the ceiling. But it looked black, and the ceiling was white. It must have been negative colours. Daring went to a little magic shop. She thought the clerk might know how to undo this hex. “These glasses... I went to the market and I saw a madam and a magic mirror that told her the future. I think it was a negative one, because when it faced the ceiling, it was black, not white. That mirror shattered and behind the glass magic stuff zapped my glasses, and now everything looks the opposite colour.” The employee laughed. “Nice try! You can’t trick me.” Daring Do held up her glasses to his eyes so he could look through. “Yikes!” he then screamed. “This sounds like the topsy-turvy reverse curse!” “What?” Daring shrieked. “Don’t worry. I know what you need. But it’s a ways away.” Feeling Pinkie KeenShe went to the bank, which sold some special coins, and tried to find the right one: a picture of a griffon bathing in fire, 1999. It was expensive, and the employees charged extra for the questions she asked, but this was important. And last thing for today, the scale of a hydra. Daring had heard about a hydra living in Froggy Bottom Bog. She decided to go there. But Froggy Bottom Bog was by Ponyville, half across Equestria. She just went to a close town, Fillydelphia, and stayed there overnight in a hotel. The rooster didn’t make a sound that morning. But Daring Do still woke up early that morning. Now where was she? Ayes, scale of a hydra. She flew over to Ponyville, the middle of the country, and then to Froggy Bottom Bog. A good nights sleep helped a lot. And in that swamp, she saw a nice yellow pony with a pink mane, cuddling with the animals. And running from Ponyville, was an all-pink pony, one with a cowboy hat, and a purple unicorn, with a little baby dragon. The pink one seemed to REALLY be shivering. She wanted to offer her jacket, but then SHE would freeze. They gave a group hug to the yellow one, and then the purple pony kept saying how freakishly right she was and that the only doozie was how right she was, and started bragging more than Trixie. But then she started coughing, and something... came up from behind her. A HYDRA. SCORE! She waited for all those ponies to leave. The purple one bounced off some bubble. The hydra chased them until the, and then turned around. Daring stomped her hoof. She ran, tying that hydra in knots. She grabbed the tail, ripped off a scale, and ran some more. The hydra wanted to follow, but couldn’t. Now what’s next?
