It was a dark and foggy night, no plane could see the town below, the famous town called Equestria was having an unusual month it seemed six out of the seven days were foggy… know one seemed to care.
It was nearing seven o’clock when two light blue sneakers moved rapidly through a field, their wearer in a rush of some sort, the sound of brush moving aside added to the shoes stomping, the teen exited the brush that surrounded a well-lit house. She sprinted to the front door and banged vigorously with both fists. The door opened to reveal Silver still in his day clothes. He examined the schoolmate, only for an instance before she grasped both of Silvers triceps and pulled herself into him. Silver was confused and began rubbing her sides realizing she was freezing cold. He looked at her head; her face became buried in his chest letting Silver only see her Rainbow colored hair.
“Rainbow Dash what’s wrong?” he asked quietly. She did not reply, but lifted her head so their eyes made contact, tears rolled down her cheeks, he had seen fear, terror but not like this, especially not from rainbow. Silver grabbed Rainbows left wrist and pulled it from his arm he held her palm to the light to find a fresh gash that ran across her hand. He quickly brought her in and sat her on the couch throwing a blanket over her shoulders and grabbing a metal bowl from the cabinet. He filled the stainless steel gallon bowl with warm water and carried it back to the living room, snatching a fresh towel on the way, where frightened Rainbow was staring at her palm. He set the bowl on the coffee table and soaked the towel before dabbing the wound. Rainbow hissed and exhaled with each painful touch.
Silver rinsed the bloody rag in the bowl finding a few black objects he raised her hand above her head and motioned for it to stay there. He stood up and went into the bathroom moments later he returned with a pair of tweezers. He lowered her hand, pulled the wood chips out, and continued dabbing the cut.
“Rainbow…” he said. She still did not respond, Silver lifted her chin with a free hand so their eyes locked.
“It’s going to be ok,” he said confidently
“No its not,” she mumbled
“I'm sorry” Silver replied
“I was attacked…”
“By who?”
“A monster… the most, horrifying thing I have ever seen.” Rainbows voice rose a little more.
“There are no such things as monsters, it was probably some smart ass kid that decided to take advantage of the fog” Silver replied
“Then explain the cut”
“I pulled wood chips from it, you probably cut it on a wire then brushed a tree,” Silver concentrated on his work.
Rainbow kneed the table from a sudden burst of pain, spilling a bit of water. Silver looked at it then focused on her hand. He placed a gauze pad over the cut and wrapped it up.
“Thank you” rainbow said
“Don’t thank me yet, we haft to get you warmed up and to a hospital,”
Silver guided Rainbow to his car where he drove her the seven miles to the towns’ hospital.

Silver stood in the waiting room he was the only person there, having seen his friend in such terror, confused and worried him. A metal door opened Silvers gaze shot to the nurse holding it open.
“She is stable, she has good amount of blood loss but nothing serious, she will be fine,” the nurse welcomed him in. he walked to her room and stood at the foot of her bed, Rainbows hand was wrapped up nearly larger than a cast. IV was dripping in her other arm and a large blanket was pulled up to her stomach.
Silver walked to one side and sat in the chair, leaning forward “the doctor said you might be able to be released tonight or tomorrow,” Silver said. Rainbow turned to face him.
“I knew coming to you was the right choice” Rainbow said
“Yeah your welcome” he replied
“Can you stay the night? I still don’t feel the most secure without you,” she asked
“Im flattered… of course” Silver stood up and placed his orange jacket over her, then sat back down.
“Why did you do that?” Rainbow asked.
“I don’t know… those blankets were never really that warm… do you want me to take it off?”
“No, its fine… thanks” there was a long silence between them.
“What actually happened?” Silver asked
Rainbow turned to face him then laid flat again she let the thoughts flow before announcing them.

Two and a half hours earlier
Rainbow threw yet another blanket aside as she searched for the missing Turtle that she beloved so much. Tank was notorious for escaping his bowl but was found quickly.
“Dang this turtle has his hiding places,” rainbow turned over a basket.
She finally spied a damp spot under her sweater she tossed the hoodie aside and picked up the turtle shell. Tank would hide in his shell, but for only a few seconds before popping back out. Rainbows ears caught a voice.
“Hello is any one there?” she held up tank once again, and squinting into the head hole she was taken aback when from the leg and head holes of the shell came a black smoke, it wasn’t hot but it was concerning. Tank finally popped out, but only his skeleton. The shells temperature began to raise making Rainbow drop the shell fearing her hand would not get burned.
Rainbow watched as the shell shattered in mid air, once the particles’ hit the ground there was nothing but a carbon stain. Heart broken and confused she turned to face the closet only to be stopped when from the corner of her eye she spied a black silhouette outside the window. she stared at it noticing a spiral set of eyes. Eyes that seemed to make her scared and strangely hypnotized. Rainbow blinked only to find the creature feet in front of her it was a dark stageli with a charcoal black burned robe and had the head of a spinosarus, rainbow stumbled back as it spoke in a evil raspy voice.
“Do you want to die tonight?”
Rainbow grabbed a softball bat from a corner and swung with all her might, but the swing was only reflected by the creatures hand, she swung again only to have the bat ripped from her grasp with one hand the creature threw its robe on its back its slender animal like body reeked that of burning flesh, its skin and bone body opened along where the rib cage would be, revealing a space like area. She glanced at its head to find two claws protruding from its cheeks, Disgusted and frightened Rainbow ran through the doorway and slammed the door leaning against it. Seconds later a sickle sized claw pierced the door with a loud crack. The claw being only centimeters from her head signaled her to move.
While back pedaling through her living room she watched as the sickle withdrew and the door being busted down.
“You can run, but I am going to catch you,” it said in a maniac voice
Rainbow ran outside into the woods on the other side of her lawn frantically trying to escape the creature, Rainbow had exited the forest and entered a meadow the fog stuck low in the moonlit night. She ran as fast as her legs would take her. Finally stopping at a tall tree on the other side of the meadow, rainbow sank to her knees to catch her breath, standing up to find the creature inches from her. It immediately clasped onto her throat and held her high against the tree, she struggled for air as the creature stared into her eyes.
“You have seen this face before but not in this light, many have made mistakes and now it is time for you to have the same fate,”
It brought up it’s claw and readied to strike but Rainbow moved her hand to block, the blade struck her palm making her bones compress and made her scream she pushed the creature away with her feet, making the creature fall backwards dropping rainbow. She immediately got up and continued to sprint. In the distance hearing a whisper that seemed right behind her.
“come to me,” Rainbow looked over her shoulder only to see trees. She kept running tears began rolling off her face uncontrollably. Rainbow exited the forest to a yard finding the lights on.

Present
Silver sat in shock at Rainbows story, completely speechless as he just sat there.
“I'm not familiar with anything of such hideousness but i'm sure Zecora will know something,” Silver said
“it also said something about me being the key” Rainbow added
Silver seemed unnerved, it was nearing ten o’clock and Rainbow had already fallen asleep Silver smiled as he had just spoken to her, from the stress and excitement must have made her exhausted.
Rainbows eyes opened slowly she turned to face the couch where she only saw her jacket and a ruffled blanket. She turned to face the television screen finding it static she looked back at the couch to find the creature holding up Silver by his claw pierced through his chest.
Rainbow sat up and gasped for air her heart monitor beeping faster than normal but began to slow down. Silver was kneeling next to Rainbow, a hand placed over hers.
“You were having a night terror,” he said
“What was I doing?” she asked
“Tossing and turning and saying, no don’t, please, Silver no… I stayed up to make sure you were ok,”
“Sorry” rainbow felt bad for keeping her friend awake
“Don’t worry about it it’s the least I can do,”
“I am worried i'm putting you in danger,”
“Common you really think your putting me in danger,”
“Yes… this thing wants me and it might kill you for helping me,” Rainbow pleaded
Silver changed the subject “… I left at midnight and talked to Zecora, she said it was a chocho nocorro an evil being that only comes out on foggy months… she said it came for her once…”
“How did she survive?”
“A kid kept it away… i'm sure if a kid could keep it away then I could easily keep you safe.”
“So you believe me?” Rainbow asked
“I believed your story…so yes,”
A nurse walked in and placed some bandage tools on a tray. She began to take the iv out.
