“Tell us what you know and how you know.” A mysterious mare told me.
“Well, on June 18th, I was going to board a train and ride to Ponyville to see my aunt applejack. My family owned a grape farm instead of an apple farm but we are still ‘partners in business and family at heart!’ as my father would say.” I say to the mysterious mare.
I’m the oddball of my family. I’m the one that doesn’t want to waste my life on a farm that grows Vitis vinifera or, as most commonly known as, grape vines. We make wine or sell the grapes that grow in our vineyard. I know, smarty-pants? What ever, at least I know about my family.
Anyway, I get on the train and that is where it all began.
…
“Ma, I’ll be fine!” I yell as my mom hugs me for the thousandth time. She continues hugging me and I give in hugging her for the last time before boarding the colorful train to Ponyville. The train began to rattle and it hissed before slowly gaining speed. I poke my head out of the window and I waved to my family before sliding back into my chair as the long journey began.
I began to doze off and before long I was out. My dream was weird though.
I was in a room with tons of these things. They had arms but at the end off their arms was a blob with jointed sticks. They had a mane but their mane didn’t run down their back with a posture that looked uncomfortable. I mean it was Sticking straight up! Their heads were covered with a helmet of some sort and it had wires leading to this machine. Before I could touch the machine I was shaken violently before waking up and seeing we are here.
“All off for Ponyville!” The conductor yelled signaling my time to get off. I gathered my things and stared my way outside.
When I get outside my cousin, Applebloom bombards me. “Oh my god! You’re finally here!” She yells, right in my ear.
“Yes, I am.” I say calmly. “You’re bigger.” I add. She has grown since I last saw her in grade school. We both didn’t have out cutie mark but I got it last time I saw her.
“Well duh! Of course Ah have grown!” She said smiling. “And I got my cutie mark too!” She added before showing me a cutie mark of a seed and an apple sapling growing out of the seed decorated with apple blossoms.
“Cool,” I reply shyly while Applebloom called for her older brother, Big Macintosh. He gets my stuff but before he could I grabbed my bag with my books, paper, and quills before walking with them to the apple farm.
As soon as I got there I was, again, bombarded by an orange Pegasus and a white unicorn who hugged me as I protected my files for dear life.
“Hi! I’m Sweetie bell!” The white one said after releasing me from the death hug.
The orange one released before stating: “I’m Scootaloo!”
“I, m-my name is Vine.” I say politely trying to get to Apple bloom’s room.
“What’s in the case?” asked the nosey one, aka Sweetie bell.
“Files, notes, ink, quills.” I say as I finally reach Apple bloom’s room. “I document things, learn about them, study them."
“Like an egghead.” Scootaloo added. Why must I be with them, the ponies who i usually avoid.
“Sure, now if you excuse me, I’m going to wander around so I can find a library.” I say making my great escape.
“Oh, we can show you!” Apple bloom added which made me sigh with misery. Will they ever go away?
As if Scootaloo had read my mind, she said: “We will stick together all summer and the whole school year!”
"No, that's alright! I can do it by myself." I plead, my heart is pumping.
They all smiled a friendly smile and said in unison: "No, we insist."
Please, Luna or Celestia, kill me now.
