Rainbow Dash Get's the Byakugan
Her greatest dream realized
"Rainbow Dash! Front and center!"
Rainbow Dash rose from her folding chair in the crowd of other potential Wonder bolts applicants. She scuttled by a few other ponies, accidentally bumping a few until she finally got to the corner of the dimly lit auditorium. She walked silent to the stage. Everything seemed to slow as she got closer and closer. Until a certain voice broke that silence.
"Wahoo! I knew you could do it Dashie!"
Rainbow Dash turned around to see Pinkie standing on top of her folding chair wooting at the top of her lungs.
Rainbow Dash slapped her forehead. "Shoulda figured." She thought to herself.
Afterwards, yet another voice shouted out.
"Yeah! Go Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo yelled out, hovering a bit over her seat using her somewhat developed wings.
"Please quiet down in the audience." Soarin said a bit hesitantly, not wanting to seem like a killjoy. "We cannot complete the ceremony if you cheer eccstatically after every pony Pinkie Pie."
Pinkie Pie slumped in her seat mumbling disappointed.
Rainbow Dash finally made her way onto the stage, turning to face Soarin.
*Ahem*
"Oh right!" Whispered Rainbow Dash. She was so dazed by the whole 'becoming a Wonder bolt' thing that she forgot to salute Soarin.
She raised her left front hoof to her head, saluting her superior.
Soarin nodded and saluted her back.
"At ease." Soarin commanded, causing Rainbow's hoof to shoot back down.
Soarin pulled out a paper the folder he was holding.
" To all here gathered tonight. We are here to celebrate these brave souls who had applied to become what we are. They have been trained in the way of the Wonder bolt. To all of you who may think so out there. We aren't just a group of ponies who put on a show every once in a while. Not only are we that, but more importantly we are guardians. We protect Equestria and its denizens. Each pony graduated has been trained to know this. They know the risks."
Soarin paused for a moment and looked over the crowd to see who was awake. Quite a bit were still awake, which was unprecedented, but still some, including Applejack had fallen asleep. Princess Twilight was attently taking notes.
"In order to be a Wonder bolt you must show perseverance and dedication. And that is why, out of the 150 student who participated, Rainbow Dash is going to be our star pupil."
Rainbow's eyes widened as Soarin placed a metal around her neck with her Cutie Mark emblazoned on it around her neck. At this point she couldn't help but cry, which was very unlike her. She went through so many hardships and here she was. Her hard work has paid off.
"This suit we are about to give to this great Pegasus is not just a collection of fabrics and stitches as some of you may think."
Rarity rolled her eyes.
Soarin continued. "If you were this uniform your not just a Pegasus. Your not just and individual. Your not just a Wonderbolt. You are a hero." As he said this he put a bad with freshly folded Wonderbolt uniforms into her hooves. He patted her on the head.
"You made it kid."
Soarin walked next to her as she turned around.
"Everyone! Rainbow Dash!" He yelled as the audience began to applaud loudly, all of her friends standing from their seats clapping their hooves together. Even the applicant who didn't make the cut applauded and stomped their hooves. This went on for a few moments before Soarin excused himself and her to backstage.
Fleet Feet greeted them as soon as they walked backstage.
"So your a Wonderbolt now eh, kiddo?" He asked Rainbow Dash who blushed.
"Well yeah I mean who could expect less from me am I right?" Rainbow Dash said jokingly.
Soarin gave a little smile whereas Fleet Feet was not amused.
Rainbow gave a nervous smirk.
"Well I guess we better meet the rest of the team to, you know break the ice." Soarin said attempting to get a move on things. The pair walked off, leaving through he back exit and into an office. Soarin eat down in a tall seat behind his desk, which was decorated with pictures of other Wonderbolts.
"Soarin let me say its totally awesome of yo"
"Rainbow let's cut to the chase. You do realize becoming a Wonderbolt means becoming a part of our family right?"
"Uh.Yeah of course who doesn't know that!" She said feigning confidence, knowing full well she knew nothing about what he was talking about.
Soarin was not amused. "And you do know family shares certain things whether it is something physical or something genetic right?"
Rainbow Dash nodded.
"Good. I want to show you something." Soarin looked Rainbow directly in the eye. He closed his eyes and quickly opened them again, his pupils missing and blood vessels popping out from the corners of his eyes.
Rainbow Dash clinched her mouth and flinched backward a bit.
"-W-whats wrong with your eyes?!" She asked stuttering as she did.
"This is the gift that I gave all of my family. And a gift I plan to bestow upon you." He said coldly.
Rainbow Dash made a break for the door but was blocked by fellow Wonderbolt Blaze Wing.
"Blaze Wing! You gotta help me! He wants to take my eyes!"
"Dont be silly Rainbow. It doesn't hurt a bit." Blaze Wing assured as the same thing happened to Blaze Wings eyes. Suddenly all the other Wonderbolts were right next to Blaze Wing all sporting the Byakugan.
"Just join us. Soarin said. You made a commitment on that stage. Now honor it and GET OVER HERE!" Soarin yelled angrily.
Rainbow Dash let out a loud shriek before being surrounded by the Wonderbolts. She better and begged but to no avail. She was theirs now.
