Many things in Scootaloo's life have gone up over the years, such as her age, her size, her body mass, and the number of times that her friends have called her a 'chicken.' But she's never been able to fly, and she really really wants to.

Now, on her tenth birthday, she's feeling particularly glum. The usual festivities aren't helping her feel any better, so she cuts them short to confront her mother, who's finally willing to open up to her now that she's older. With the secrets of her past laid bare, perhaps she'll learn why she can't fly, and maybe, just maybe, find a way around that.
