Rainbow Dash has been voted best flyer in Equestria. But the stallions from the old flight school doubt it. So she needs to prove it by doing a sonic rainboom. Unfortunately, Twilight can't conjure up the walking on clouds or wing spells anymore. She was injured, and now her magic is weak. Now there is only one pony that can cheer her on.
Fluttershy.
The sun is setting. Can Fluttershy cheer loud enough before it's too late?
Rated teen for mild violence.

Sonic Rainboom

Chapter 1

How? How? Rainbow Dash thought as she rested on her cloud bed. The stallions from the old flight school still think she's a terrible flyer. She had to prove that she was named best flyer in Equestria. But how? She's just another Pegasus from Cloudsdale, and this situation will be hard to get through. Very hard.

She went down to Ponyville and asked Twilight about the two spells, wings and walking on clouds, that she casted last time. But there was no answer. Twilight couldn't talk. She was suddenly injured, and now she's 100% weak. Oh, no. she thought. Now there was only one pony who could cheer her on.

Fluttershy.

But Fluttershy is too quiet! She cheered loudly last time, but what about THIS time? Scootaloo can't fly, she's only a filly! What am I gonna do?! I'll never do a sonic rainboom!

Dash began to sob. She couldn't bear the situation. It was just too painful. Everypony stared at her. They were all silent. That is, except for Fluttershy.

"There, there, Dash," she said quietly, as always. "I'll still be there. I can fly, ya know." Dash let out a bloodcurdling scream. Everypony else let out a cry of surprise. After that, they all just stood there with wide eyes.

Rarity stepped up. "Dash, sweetness, what is wrong?" Dash kicked Fluttershy in the face, giving her a black eye. Everyone gaped in horror. Fluttershy sobbed.

"I'M NOT DOING A SONIC RAINBOOM!" she screamed. "FLUTTERSHY IS A RIDICULOUSLY SHY JERK! I'LL NEVER SPEAK TO HER UNTIL SHE GETS IT RIGHT! SHE NEEDS TO ACTUALLY CHEER!

Everyone but Fluttershy ran away. She stepped up, hugged Rainbow, and said, "I know, Dash. I know it's hard. I'm just too shy to cheer. But I promise I'll be there for you in any way."
