CHAPTER 1: The Name Is Chosen
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at sugercube corner, and Mrs. and Mr. cake were cleaning up the kitchen; it was a long and crazy weekend of baking for customers. Suddenly, Mrs. cake jumped up in shock, remembering what day it was.
“Oh dear, its June 1st”, Mrs. cake turned to her husband, a look of grief on her muzzle.
“You know what that means.” Mr. cake started as he walked out of the door, “PINKAMENA!,” he yelled, “CHECK THE DATE!”.
Pinkamena was just on her way downstairs when she heard him yelling. She had heard the call from the kitchen, recalling the new calender in her room. Then it hit her. June 1st, the day of the drawing, and also the day that her best friend died, by her hooves. She had dreaded this day, but knew it was coming, would it be any different? She had made sure that an “Incident” like the one with Rainbow dash would never happen again; she had removed all of the numbers that were assigned to her friends. So she really didn't worry about it happening, but she did worry about what would happen If the Cake's found out the box had been tampered with.

Pinkamena's eyes went wide as she saw the number pulled out of the box “Number Three- Hundred Ninety Seven. APPLEJACK.” Mr. cake said, motioning Pinkamena to come over. She trotted over to him, only for him to say, “If you ever try tampering with the box again, YOU will be killed.” Mr. cake said as he slipped into the next room. “You have till midnight.”
Pinkamena sat there, wondering what she would do. She had no choice. She would have to this. But of all the ponies in Ponyville? Why did it have to be her? Why couldn't it be somepony else? Pinkamena was having a mental breakdown. Its going to be hard for her, but she'll make it fun, right?
