To Look Up To

Rainbow Dash smirked.

" So you say you want some pony to take you under their wing? I guess I can do that."

Scootaloo gasped.

"Really?!"

The rainbow colored mare nodded. They both united in a hug. Later that night Scootaloo had the same nightmare but this one was different.

"You took my horseshoe!"

The olden pony screamed. Unlike the many times before of running and screaming,Rainbow Dash appeared.

"Here's your horse shoe! Now take and go!"

The olden pony stomped the horse shoe on and grumbled as she slowly trotted away. They oncce again united in another hug. In the corner of Scootaloo's eye,she saw Princess Luna,who gave her a wink and flashed away.

Luna sighed as she looked through the moon and onto her many sleeping subjects. She had been in many dreams before,but Scootaloo's had made the most sense after all she had somewhat created the dream,so Scootaloo could learn an important lesson. To face your fears. This lesson Luna wished she had faced her fears thousands of moons ago,but that was then this is now. She had turned into the wicked Nightmare Moon, and had terroized many of her innocent subjects. That was her past however. Now she was trying her best to look forward. But,it was failing every now and then like right now.

"Everypony looks up to my sister and still do,even after my return,have I not been missed are alll my followers dead? Why can't-why won't anypony look up to me? I create beutiful night for them,so they ccan blissfully sleep for tomorrow's work and guidence. Why can't I be like my sister?!"

There was a flash and Luna in her room,heard and knock on the door.

"Princess Luna? Your dinner is ready."

Luna coughed her tears up. "Thank you windster,thy shall be there in a few clicks.'

Luna heard the butler trott away. His hooves cloping upon the ground echoed throughout the Hallway. Luna wiped her eyes with a small handinapking. Princess always carried them. Where? In there necklaces. There was suprisingly a big storage conpartment in them.Strangley. Luna gave one last cough before brushing her mane,putting on her crown and regally walking out her door safely locking it and poofing the key somewhere. When she reached the table,her sister was on the very far end.

"So,you're still wearing your crown and locking your door everytime you leave?"

Her sister asked. Luna scowled.

"Sister,thou must be prepared,Twilight Sparkle,or the changeling queen or even our gaurd could burst through the door at any moment. It is important we always look as thy do. Unlike you sister,thou feel that thy should start doing what thou art."

The pastel colored mare chucked.

"What about locking your door?"

Sometimes princess Celestia would just ask her sister questions in order to hear the' Royal Canterlot voice.

"Again,thou must always be prepared. There are thousand of scrolls,spells,books,and almost anything that can be used to harm in both our rooms. thou suggust actually locking the door in case of an attack nopony can reach all the dangerous iteams. Thy still sugust you do the same."

The pony princess laughed.

"Yet you are still using the thou,thy and art! Luna, we do not use the Canterlot voice anymore!"

That was ended many moons ago!"

The sister sighed.

"Forgive me sister,but- I- was not here then."

The room went silent. Celestia's face furrowed in concern. Then a smile writ on her face.

"Luna, something came in the mail today."

Celestia originally planened to tell her this when Luna first sat down,but she had forgeeten and now she remembered.

"What is it sister,you're going to Fillydelphia or Ponyville for something really important, that only you can handle?"

Celestia shook her head.

"Nope,it's for you."

Luna was confused,she hadn't gotten mail in almost one thousand moons. When she did it was mostly about something that needed fixing,or rather. Luna opened the letter and levitated it near her face. She read it aloud.

"Dear Princess Luna,I know that you're probably busy,and and don't know if you remember me,but it's me pip. I just wanted to say hi. My mom told me the adress and helped me out scense ya know,I can't do it on my own. She was asking me why I want to send a letter to you,and I told her about nightmare night. I think she was joking but,she said she'd love to meet you,she said you sound really funny,kind and understanding. Anyway,I was going to ask you if you wanted to have Lunch or dinner,or mabey even breakfast with my mom and I. I get it if you can't I mean you're probably busy,but I'm just wondering. You could get to know my mom,my dad's in the gaurd,but I don't know if you've seen him before. If you have, cool! Also you don't have to respond,I'm just wondering. Anyway bye! Good Luck and have a good night! Pip."

Luna's lips trembled. She was speechless.

"There's also something else Luna."

Princess Celestia told her sister. Princess Luna didn't respond she just stared blankly at the paper. Her sister however nodded at the gaurd and the stallion opened the door. Little did Luna know a mare and little colt had just trotted inside. Celestia waved them both over. Celestia whispered something in the little colts ear. Luna was completely unuware of her surroundings. her mind questioning how and why the colt wanted to send time with her. she had followers,gaurds,but she never had somepony ask her if she wanted dinner,lunch or even breakfast with them,and more of with her mother.

"So what do you say Princess?"

  small voice asked.

Luna's thoughts were broken by the little voice she camly placed the letter down and turned to she the litttle colt smiling at her. her lips trembled and quivered,as a tear escaped her eye followed by many others from both. She was able to let out the words,

"Of course."

Before bursting into tears hugging the small colt. Litttle Pip hugged her back.

"It's okay! I understand,not many ponies want to hang out with me either because I'm so small and stubby. But you're a Princess! You're perfect!"

A mare trotted up to the two. She chuckled.

"We are all perfect,just the way we are."

She put herself in a bowing position,and hinted her son to do the same. He wobbled over next to his mother and did the same thing.

"Your majesty."

The mare said before standing back upright.

"My name is Spotted Trail. I'm a detective in Manehatten,but I've gotten a break and had moved to Ponyville. My husband works here,but I don't know specifically where."

Luna smiled her tears dried and she stood up.

"How do you get from Ponyville to Manehatten?"

The Princess asked.

"Well you see one of the first thing they teach us is to teleport to long distances,that is if your a unicorn,if a pegusus flying faster,if an earth pony,then the run faster get the muscles,ya know. but doing the teleportation spell can be tiring so right now I'm learing some stuff."

"Interesting."

Luna told them. The room went silent again.

"When do you want to eat?"

Little Pip said as he broke the silence.

"Does Dinner work? I wil try to look my best."

Luna asked.

"Of course, we will too,"

Spotted trail chuckled. The next night Luna was pacing around her room. Celestia opened the door,laughing at her sister's stress.

"Calm down Luna just go!"

"Do you think I look good enough!?"

Luna asked.

"You look beautiful."

Celestia reassured her. Luna sighed.

"Thank you sister I will be back in two hours."

Celestia waved as Luna trotted away.

"BYE!"

Luna shouted

"Wait!"

Celestia screamed back. Luna's hooves crushed against the ground putting herself to a halt.

"Sister? You forgot your bag. I still don't understand why you want to look so, well, regal."

Luna shook her head at her sister's compliment.

"Nonsense. When thou art to see guests, whomever, or whenever, they must always look formal. As the Princess Of the Night thy will have to tend night watching at the same time."

Celestia smirked.

"Forget about that, have some fun! I'll watch over the stars and sky to night."

Luna raised an eyebrow at this.

"Fine. We thank thee for taking thy's place tonight. As thou did for one thousand years, it shall be no problem."

Princess Celestia sighed.

"Luna, I am sorry."

"Again. Nonsense, you did what a ruler must do in any situation sister, I would have done the same if I were to be in charge of Equestria, I let my emotions fool and take over me. I was foolish."

Luna protested.

"You said I those times."

Celestia stated. Luna rolled her eyes.

"THY MUST NOT BE LATE FOR THY'S DINNER,YOU MAY COMMENCE INTO THE AIR GAURDS!"

Luna shouted in the 'Royal Canterlot Voice.' The bat-like ponies took off into the air, pulling the chariot along into the sky.

Princess Luna waved down to her sister from the sky.

The  chariot landed in front of a restaurant named, 'Canterlot restaurant gastronomique unique.' It meant, Canterlot unique dining restaurant. Princess Luna gracefully stepped out of her chariot and onto Canterlot City ground. She grandly pranced in the doors. A red stallion with jet black hair and a mustache looked at her curiously. His suit shifted as he away from the counter.

"May I help you, err, mam?"

Luna took a deep breath in puffing her chest out.

"Ma-" "I AM THE PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT YOU MAY CALL ME PRINCESS LUNA! I HAVE ORDERED A TABLE FOR THREE, I AM EXPECTING GUESTS, UNSLESS THEY ARE ALREADY HERE?!"

Luna waited a few seconds.

"I GUESS NOT, I SHALL LEAD MYSELF TO A TABLE PEASENT!"

The whole diner stared at her in shock.

"DON'T ANY OF YOU PONIES KNOW IT IS RUDE TO STARE!"

She screamed at the ponies gazing at her. They swiftly shot their heads back to their table partner, or their menu. The same colt dropped a menu and glass of water on the table and galloped away. Luna gasped in surprise. The was close to falling before Luna grabbed it with her magic.

"That was close."

Luna shifted her eyes around the room, instant and loud voices scrambled through the room dying to be heard. Luna sighed and levitated the menu open and in front of her eyes. 'Oat soup, Hay sandwich, Mashed potatoes, Wheat pizza, Corn on the cob, Flower fries...Ugh! Where's Pippy and his mother?!' Luna thought to herself. She smacked the menu down on the table and scanned the room. There. Luna stood up and galloped over to the entrance. A mare and a small colt seemed to be having a fiasco with the manager.

"Is there a problem sir?"

Luna asked as she walked up the the stallion.

"Yes, your majesty."

He was a scruffy one. His grey mane and orange tan coat with his blue eyes, he had a down town city voice. From Manehatten.

"This mare and lil' filly-"

"Colt!"

Pipsqueak jumped in. The manager rolled his eyes.

"Colt- said they were havin' dinner with ya your majesty. All we need to know, is it true or are they bluffin'."

"THOU ART TELLING THE TRUTH THY BOOKED A TABLE FOR THREE SAYING I WOULD HAVE COMPANY,BUT YOU DID NOT LISTEN! Come on Pip, Let's go to the table."

The group talked for hours, taking about nightmare night, stars, investigations, constellations, mysteries, the guard, until it was finally time to go. Pip and Spotted Trail waved goodbye to the Princess and the Princess waved back. When she landed back at the castle her sister was ready to greet her.

"Oh! How was it! Tell me! Tell me!"

Luna raised her hoof to silence her sister.

"It. Was. Really. Really. FUN!"

Luna and Celestia both jumped in the air. Celestia sighed.

"Let's go out to the hill."

Celestia's horn flashed as Luna and Celestia were teleported far away from Canterlot and had a good view of the moon.

"I'm glad you had fun." Luna looked at her sister curiously.

"Why?"

"Because with all those thys, thous ,arts, even dream walking, it was all starting to worry me. I miss the old Luna. The one where we came up here to get away from our responsibilities and have fun."

Celestia told her sister.

"Yes, sister I remember it, this is even the same spot I got my cutie mark. Where I rose I the moon for the very first time thanks to you."

Luna stated.

"Well I had to teach you eventually."

Celestia replied.

"Hm, yeah, I guess, but sister, we have responsibilities now, a kingdom to rule, subjects to protect. Understand sister, I love you deeply with my heart but I do not have every day to tell you, Tia."

Celestia nodded.

"Yes, but just for tonight can we stay here together, like sisters, how we used to be before we had to rule our ponies? Please?"

Luna sighed with a smile.

"Of course sister, of course."
