The Beast of Equestria

Load Full StoryI was running from the ultimate zombie, the Night Hunter. If nobody knows what that is, then I'll tell you.
The Night Hunter is a very dangerous zombie, able to get around quick thanks to the move deemed 'Tendril Locomotion', and can sense survivor's by making a loud scream, kinda like Eco Location. It, like many night zombies, is afraid of Ultra-Violate Light. But what makes them dangerous is they can evolve into more dangerous versions of themselves, for example, they can make themselves immune to UV light, pounce us from farther distances, and they can spit a toxic that marks you as food. That spit can be used for various means if they evolve enough, they can suppress our UV Flashlights and harm us. They also look like this.
Should you ever encounter it, hope that you are near a safe area, because if your not you are fucked. Just like me...
"MOTHER FUCKER!" I screamed as the Night Hunter was close to getting me. I was really close to becoming his lunch. I looked behind me and flashed my UV-Flashlight at him, he stopped only to activate his suppression, he looked like a negative version of himself.
"SHIT!" I narrowly dodged a Demolition charge. Thankfully the big oaf hit the Hunter, but now both went after me.
"Can this get any worse?" I regretted saying that, because a Toad and several Viotiles gave chase. I threw a flare down to keep the Viotiles away, but the Night Hunter slammed the ground destroying it. I used the grappling hook to get to a building, the Night Hunter, newly formed Night Walkers, and Viotiles followed me. The Night Hunter used his Tendrils to get up the building faster, while the others climbed, thank God the Demolisher can't climb. I jumped off the building and rolled the minute I hit the ground. The Night Hunter followed suit, he then shot a purple glob of goop that hit me. The goop exploded as my vision was tinted purple, showing that my UV Flashlight couldn't work, "SHIT! MY LIGHTS OUT, WHERE'S MY DAMN FLARES!" I shouted to no one in particular. I spotted a pond and went to it.
I managed to jump into a pond. All the zombies, except the Night Hunter, left after a few seconds. The Night Hunter then jumped in the air, and landed on me, I had never seen a Night Hunter do that. He raised his head and bit into my arm, which I had unconsciously raised to defend myself.
I screamed in pain, white hot agony flowed into my right arm, then the seizures started. I knew this wasn't natural, I usually had time before this happened, the Night Hunter left after a few seconds of biting me. I swam out of the pond, but the seizures hit me again, the zombies that were in the area ignored me, sensing I was close to being a zombie.
I fell to my knees from the pain, I was far from any place with Antizine, I started blacking out, my last thought was that I didn't get to do more to help these people.

You know, this felt nice, it felt warm and peaceful, the ground was soft, and the air smelled clean, I felt hungry. I blacked out.

Who am I? Where am I?
Those thoughts flew straight into my mind. I got up and looked at my hands, they had claws. My eyesight looked dull, I was hunched-backed, was I always like this? I looked around to see that it was night, I felt a certain love for the night, it felt nice to be in darkness but the only thought now was that I was hungry. My instincts told me to howl. Once I did that, skeletal frames appeared in the distance. They seemed to belong to cows and sheep. I got up and started running to their location, once they were in my sights I howled again and leaped in the air, my arms ripped in half as tendrils flew from the hole.
The tendrils wrapped around a calf as I descended on it. The other cows looked at my direction with horror as the calf struggled to get out of my grip. After my tendrils unwounded from the calf I devoured it. I felt full after eating the calf, I noticed that the apparent mother started crying, but I wasn't affected by the crying. Kill or be killed went to my mind, though I didn't know what it meant. "Ca- You hear me?" A voice rang out in my head.
I clutched my head, what was that. "Finally, I had been trying to get you to hear me, but your hunger blocked me out." The voice sounded familiar, but who was talking? "Forgive me, I'm you in a sense, I'm the old voice in your head, trying to keep you from doing something wrong." I wanted to say who are you, but my voice came out as a grunt. "Yeah, sorry. I am you, and your name is Darren, but time for a clean slate in this new world, I'm going to make us pass out, I sense a group of people coming, when we wake up, please don't attack." As soon as 'I' said that, I passed out.
I woke up, feeling something covering my eyes. I howled as I looked around, pony skeletons appeared in my vision, some were lying down, while others were rushing around. My howl must have attracted the attention of about 9 ponies, one being bigger then the rest, and about three of those had wings and horns, the others had wings or horns, two had none of those. "What in tarnation was that?" A southern voice asked.
"I don't know, but I believe it came from Room 935, or was it 115?" A sweet sounding voice replied.
"Oh my, I bet it was that creature we found." A more high classed voice said.
"If it's that creature, it better hope it doesn't start trouble!" A tomboyish girl shouted. I heard the door open as I saw the skeletal frames enter the room I was in.
"Stand back Princesses, we don't want any harm to befall you three." A voice behind the 9 ponies said.
"*Growl*" I hated how they talked about me like I wasn't there. I her a voice gasp, with it's owner's skeleton hiding behind the taller pony.
"I think the creature can understand us." The voice sounded insanely shy, and I felt an urge to protect her.
"Fear not Fluttershy, for thou friends shall protect thee." A royal voice. I took an immediate interest to her.
"Hey, do not attack please, I'm sure they can be our best friends, perhaps even cure us." The voice was heard by only me, no one else seemed to have heard.
"Can you understand us?" A motherly tone was heard from the tallest skeleton. A nod was her response. "Can you speak?" I shook my head. "I'm going to remove the blind folds, close your eyes." I did as I was told and felt the headwear slip from my head. When I opened my eyes after about ten seconds, I started thrashing around. Because I saw sunlight pouring in the room, my instincts told m that sunlight was bad.
"What's wrong with him?" A purple pony asked.
"The sunlight, he must be afraid of it, somepony shield the windows!" As soon as the command was given, the ponies shielded the windows with the dark curtains. I stopped thrashing when I noticed the cursed light was gone. "Why is thou scared of light?" A midnight blue pony with a flowing blue mane, wings, and horn asked. She then remembered I couldn't speak, "Can thou write?" She asked. I nodded, but I noticed my hands where tied down. The pony looked at the others, as if asking them to untie my hands.
"Luna, are you sure that's a wise decision?" The tall white pony asked. Luna looked towards me.
"Will thou attack my friends?" I shook my head. Luna smiled and untied my hands and I rubbed them. A book and a feather floated to me. "Now, can thou answer questions?" I nodded, and a lavender pony came up.
"Hello, my name is Twilight, what is your name?" I wrote down Darren. "That's a nice name, what is your species?"
"Our species use to be human, we are now called Night Hunters." The voice said. I wrote down human, crossed it out, put an equal sign that said Night Hunter.
"What's a Human/Night Hunter?" I wrote down my answer. Everypony gasped, I probably shouldn't have wrote I can eat only meat.
"Will you eat us?" The white pony asked. I frowned and shook my head no. Everypony exhaled. I wrote down that I had a question, which they kindly answered. (At this point you should know the names of the princesses and the Mane 6, the 9th pony was a nurse named Sugar Heart.)
"Wait, last question, because you never answered it. Why is thou afraid of my sister's light?" I wrote down that sunlight will weaken and kill me if I stay in it. "Thou's species name suits thee."
"Well, I can make a protective barrier around you that can protect you from the rays of my sun." I shook my head up and down, that would be great if I can walk in the sun.
"Again" I heard the voice say. I shook my head. I then felt a warm sensation spread around my body as a faint blue and yellow aura surrounded me.
"Now this will only last a few minutes until the spell has to recharge, after ten minutes find shade or a dark place to recharge the spell." Celestia said.
"Princess, it is almost time to lower the sun." A pony in armor said. Celestia nodded and left, after saying bye.
"So, does Darren have a room, or will he stay here?" Rainbow Dash said.
"Thou recovered quickly, so thou should be able to move once the doctor says so." Luna replied.
"And in response to that Princess, he can, but you should take it easy Darren. We don't know why you passed out like that." A pony with an face mask, and flashlight in his shirt pocket said. I felt strange staring at the pony, he had light brown eyes that showed he seen things, his mane was messy and he had a cutie mark that showed two pills, one was blue and the other was green. He also had a cat plushie attached to his shirt. I nodded and got up, I decided against howling. "Oh, and here you go, never know when you need this." He gave me three of each type of pills. Three green/blue pills. He told me if I needed any more, ask him.
Out in the hallway, I was given strange looks. I was not surprised, it wasn't everyday you see something out of a horror movie walk among you. "So, does thou to explore the city?" Luna asked. I nodded.
"Well, we simply must get you new clothes, those clothes are simply horrid." Rarity said. I would have argued if I could, I couldn't speak.
"Be nice Rare, Darron there must've outgrown 'is clothes becomin a' Night Hunter." Applejack stated, I didn't mind the slight difference to my name.
"Yeah! I think that makes him look awesome! Not as awesome as me though." Rainbow Dash said. "Gee, thanks. To bad you can't speak. Right big guy?" I grunted. When we reached the gate of the castle , Luna told me to try not to get angry with the people, she said they were snobs.
Not 2 minutes of walking out the gates and I already heard a screaming coming from a mare. She was pointing at me and screamed monster. I sighed and started walking slowly. I noticed something in the distance, was that a pony robbing another one? When I heard the pony scream for help, I saw Luna use her magic, but I was already chasing the thief. "Darren!" I heard the Princess and the Main 6 call for me.
I ignored them as I jumped on a roof, the ponies below screaming at me, but I ignored the snobby ponies as the thief was below me. I pounced him, my tendrils wrapped around him. Before I could even get close. "*Squeals in pain*" My skin started glowing orange as the UV radiation hit me full force. I felt something pop in me as my skin changed to looking like a crystal. I growled and ground pounded the ground near the thief. He flew and hit the wall of a store, rendering him unconscious.
"Yes, bring the deserving to justice, but if the hunger gets the better of you and you attack a innocent pony, I will end us." The voice said, I nodded in reply. "Good, here's an extra timer on the block, find cover quickly. I cannot hold this UV Block for long." Nodding once again, I dove in a store, scaring the crap of the inhabitants.
"Darren, where art thou?" Luna called. I howled to respond, before feeling a white haze enter my mind. I noted that some blue liquid stained my pants pocket before I passed out.
"So, got any questions?" A man and I were sitting on chairs facing each other. The man had a athletic build, perfect for parkour.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"You already know the answer to that." The guy replied.
"How am I talking?
"A dream is a wonderful thing, allowing you to transverse physics itself." He seemed to be thinking of something. "Here, you won't last long if you don't skill up. I gripped my head feeling abilities and moves being uploaded into me. "Take the blue pill if you need to speak to me again"
And then I woke up.
