Love is never enough

Chrysalis chuckled as her precious changelings closed the door to feed. The take over was near completion. How brilliant. She dearly wanted to gloat... But... At this stage she couldn't take any chances. She must eliminate all threats to her take over immediately! And she knew just how to do it...

Cadence struggled, trying to pull her hooves away from the sticky green goo that surrounded them so she could free her horn, which was also covered in the goo. "You'll never get away with this you monster!", she screeched and intensified her struggles. She would not let her kingdom fall!

Chrysalis smiled and trotted over to her slowly. "Oh, but I think I've already gotten away with it...", she allowed that gloat to slip out. But no more. No more talking. She was hungry.

Twilight growled, she was standing with her friends, being watched over by a few changelings.

Shining armour was standing drowsily next to Cadence, still under Chrysalis' spell. She was gaining energy from his love... But what she had planned for him would feed her with more than love. Her horn glowed a bright green and her magic enveloped Shining in a rippling bubble.

"My dear", Chrysalis cooed. "I want you to stay perfectly still and relaxed, can you do that for me?". Chrysalis slid her forked tongue over her lips in anticipation, coating them in saliva.

Shining armour mumbled in response.

Twilight's eyes widened. "Hey! Don't you touch him!".

"Good". Chrysalis' said, ignoring Twilight's plies. Her magic deepened and the bubble, and her horn, glowed brighter.

Celestia, who was trapped in a sickly green goo cocoon, made a distressed sound as she managed to move her neck slightly to see what Chrysalis was doing.

Cadence pricked up her ears in shock and stopped struggling. "Wh-what are you going to do with him?!".

Chrysalis chuckled as shining armour shrunk to the size of a mouse. Chrysalis opened her gaping jaws and let her tongue hang out. It was the same as any other pony's except narrow and forked at the end. Strands of saliva hung down and across her mouth, broken the moment Shining armour entered it. She closed it, making hardly any sound on the outside, but making a loud splashing and squashing sound for him. It was dark, cold, wet and the feeling of soft pulsing flesh was everywhere. Despite his situation, he was perfectly calm. The spell must have worked, as that had been what Chrysalis wanted. In fact, he seemed nearly asleep as he rolled over onto his front and hugged her tongue. Chrysalis let out a small giggle. That tickled. She proceeded to push her tongue to the roof of her mouth and swirl it around, collecting saliva as she went and squishing Shining, forcing him to let go of the tongue. He tasted sweet. He landed beneath her tongue, in the pit next to the nerve that connected with the underside of it. She scooped him up onto her tongue again and wasted no time in swallowing him. She tilted her head back slowly and Shining slid, without question, down to the beginning of her throat. Chrysalis gulped, starting the pulsing motion that helped him down it. The sound of the gulp echoed through his ears, but seemed like a minor sound to the others. A bulge ran smoothly down her throat, which she followed down with her hoof. Finally, Shining dropped into the stomach, which was a see-through green colour, and lay there half-covered in slimy green stomach acid. Asleep. Chrysalis let out a content sigh.

Cadence was speechless. She just stood there and watched as her one true love was swallowed by a beast.

Celestia made more distressed sounds, louder this time and tried kicking out of the cocoon. But she was firmly stuck.

Chrysalis smiled and looked to Celestia. "My my, you must know that I plan to do the same to you...". She looked to Cadence. "But first...". Chrysalis called the changeling guards that were buzzing around Celestia to guard Cadence. "You must join your love". She laughed, echoing her unnatural voice throughout the castle walls.

Twilight could hardly move, much like Cadence. Her... Brother had just been. Eaten. Her friends stood their blankly too, but not as blankly as twilight.

"What the hay did y'all jus' do to Shining!", Applejack cried in disbelief.

Chrysalis ceased her chuckling and looked to Applejack with a raised eyebrow. "I ate him dear, don't worry though. I don't plan on leaving any of you left out", Chrysalis licked her lips mockingly, shoving her face towards them.

Fluttershy squealed and reared back, bumping into a changeling that hissed at her in response. Her eyes watered up. "P-please!", she squeaked.

Rarity trotted over and consoled Fluttershy, giving her a hug and patting her mane. Fluttershy cried into her fur. "You beast! You don't even need to scare her for your plan to work, that's just plain rude!", Rarity practically huffed out the words.

Chrysalis rolled her eyes. "It's rude, but it's awfully fun", she growled".

Rainbow dash was hanging by her fore hooves, which were being held up by changelings, head down in defeat and Pinkie pie sat in the corner of the circle, mane flat. Neither of them contributed to the conversation.

"Enough talk... It's time for the main course", she grinned as she picked cadence up with her glowing green magic. Cadence was immobilized, and couldn't counter Chrysalis' magic. So she just floated there and started to cry. Chrysalis intensified her magic and Cadence shrunk to a slightly smaller size than Shining armour, who was still lying down at the pit of Chrysalis' stomach. Visible through the see-through layers it had. Chrysalis opened her mouth again, saliva dripping from its roof in anticipation for its next meal. As Cadence approached, Chrysalis raised her head a little more, then threw her into the gaping maw. Cadence let out a gasp. The feeling of a slimy substance everywhere, drenching your coat, was not a feeling she liked. Chrysalis shut her mouth and that same loud splash rang out inside it so Cadence could hear. Cadence heard her chuckle, and the echo of her voice ringing through the mouth made her feel faint. Cadence was suddenly swept upwards as the tongue thrashed towards the roof of the mouth. She was instantly squished against the roof and coated in more saliva. Then the tongue came crashing back down. She knew what was next. Cadence clung desperately onto the tongue, squeezing with all her might, trying to hold on and stop herself from falling. But the green goo on her hooves did otherwise. She slipped, leaving gooey residue on the bottom of Chrysalis' tongue. Then a small bump slid down Chrysalis' throat and Cadence was gone.

Twilight screeched as she saw Cadence arrive in the stomach. "W-wha... Y-you ate them.", tears began to roll down her cheeks.

Chrysalis trotted elegantly over to Twilight. "Of course I did... I can't take any chances with this take over. It's funny actually... You were suspicious of me all along, and nopony believed you. It's a shame really. It's almost as if... Your friends killed them". She chuckled loudly and put a hoof to her chest mockingly.

Twilight hung her head and let the tears roll down her cheeks faster. She knew she was next.
