Standing Stones - Book 3- True and False Love
This is the day I learned a valuable lesson. My friend Dark and I ventured over to the CMC clubhouse to drop off supplies for their crusade. While we were there, our conversation turned to Hearts and Hooves Day, since it was to arrive in just a few short weeks. "Once on Hearts and Hooves Day, we made a love potion" Scootaloo mentioned.
"It was more of a love poison." Sweetie Belle added. Upon hearing this, Dark turned to me, a grin on his face.
"Okay, what's with the grin?" I asked suspiciously.
"I'm going to help you with Hope." He said to me, his proud grin growing even wider.
Dark waited until we left the clubhouse to elaborate his plan.
"A love potion is not a bad idea! What could go wrong!?" I nodded, smiling. Yes, yes, it was stupid for me to think that. But my brain is tiny. Don't judge me.
We gathered the ingredients and brewed the potion with remarkable ease. Once the concoction was ready, we headed to Hope's house. Dark and I let ourselves in and greeted Hope.
"What's this?" She asked as I offered the cup bearing the potion.
"Just a drink we made for you." I replied nonchalantly.
"Thanks." She dipped her head gratefully as she took a sip. Soon she started to act funny. To my surprise, she ran past me and went towards a muffin. She picked the muffin and started hugging it. This wasn't good.
She loved muffins, but she wouldn't do that to a muffin. I looked to Dark, and he had a similar look of shock pasted to his face. Obviously the potion failed. Meanwhile, Hope pranced outside with the muffin to find the perfect place for a date.
"Well, this isn't good." I muttered to Dark.
"You think!?" He hissed. "We better stop her." He shook his head, still dismayed at the occurrence. We headed out, trailing after Hope as she bounced happily along.
The two of us decided that I would go after her and take the muffin to break the spell. I thought this would be easy. I was so wrong. I closed in to grab the muffin, but she punched me in the face almost instinctively. Dazed, I careened away, waiting for the stars to stop dancing. Hope galloped off again, taking the muffin with her.
My vision still blurred, I flew after her. After a few minutes, I managed to catch up with her. I quickly grabbed the muffin and scarfed it down, hearing Hope give out a cry of defiance. Remember how I said this wasn't going to be easy? Well, I exaggerated a bit. With the object she fell in love with gone, the spell was broken.
"Pez... Why do you have a black eye?" She inquired, clearly baffled.
"You did it." I replied.
"How come I don't remember?"
"I umm... I k-kinda um..." I struggled for words, thinking of possible excuses to get out of this mess.
"Go on. Tell me." She pushed.
I took in a deep breath. This was no going to be fun.
"I gave you a love potion so you would love me but, you fell in love with... a muffin." I confessed. She gazed at me with a serious look, which she held for a good long moment. Then she started to grin. Soon, she started to laugh.
"What's so funny?" I asked her, perplexed.
"Pez! You didn't need to use a love potion!" She told me, her eyes tearing up from laughter. "All you needed to do is tell me!" She added.
"I'm sorry... if you don't want to be my friend... I'll understand." I looked down, dejectedly. She looked at me for a second.
"I don't want to be your friend, Pez." She said.
My heart stopped. I felt like I might shatter into a billion pieces and scatter in the wind. "I understand." I whispered, already criticizing myself for sounding so pathetic.
I turned away to go home and feel sorry for myself. Before I made it two steps, I felt Hope reach and pull me back. I felt a huge pang of guilt as Hope's eyes met mine. Suddenly, her lips were touching mine. We were kissing.
I felt the world explode, rebuild itself, implode, and fold back once more. Did I miss something?
Hope slowly parted from me, her face still inches from mine. "I want to be more than friends."
...What?
I was in shock. I didn't know what to say to her. Hope smiled awkwardly. "Alright. We will go on a date tomorrow night. How does that sound to you, Pez?" She placed a hoof on my chest, her smile turning more comforting.
"That... sounds good." I replied. I started to feel my face burn, and realized that I was blushing heavily. Hope gave me a small peck on the cheek, and trotted back to her house.
That ended well but, I still can't process what happened though.
"Hey! Did you break the spell?" Dark asked as he trotted up to me.
"Yeah!" I grinned drunkenly.
"Why you so happy?" He asked me.
"I got a fillyfriend."
"Wait, wait, wait. You mean, Hope actually liked you this whole time!?" Dark gaped in disbelief.
"I think so." It could've been so simple, but instead, I had to go and make it complicated. I learned a great lesson though. It is need a good idea to use love potions. They will just fall in love with a muffin or something.

Man that was one crazy day. Well, you know the drill. Here's an entry in my journal.
Today, I learned a valuable lesson. I've learned that love isn't something that can be forced. It can only be given to you if the other pony so chooses. I was lucky enough for Hope you love me. I also learned a second lesson. I learned that don't give anypony a love potion or else she might fall in love with a muffin. This could've all been prevented if I would've just told her my feelings but, I was too stupid to do that. Well thats all for now. Hey this is Hope writing in Pez's journal again! He may be stupid but, thats one of the many things I love about him. Hey this is Pez again and it looks like Hope wrote in my journal again. Well, I better keep this journal locked up. Good luck with that, Pez. Ok that is why I need to lock this thing up.
Well that was my journal entry. Hope says I'm allowed to take a look at her diary. She says I am the only one she trusts with it.
Dear diary, knew this colt named Pez for a while. I finally got a chance to tell him how I feel. I can honestly say that this was the best day of my life. Yes... he did eat my muffin but, I'll forget about that. Knew he liked me all this time but, you know how us girls are. We wait for the guys to tell us. That's kinda how it works. Well soon there will be a date. He didn't tell me where. He says it's a surprise but, I am so excited! I can't wait for our first date! It will be so amazing! I wonder what I should where! I need to brush my mane and get ready! Hmm... I wonder what mane style I should have. Well... thats all I got to write for now!
So that was her Diary. I can't wait for the date! I wonder where we should go... Maybe SCC? Hmm... What about Manehatten!? Nah. I already know where we are going! I am going to take Hope to the gala! I'm going to get her a dress to wear to the gala! I already got the tickets! These tickets cost me 100 bits but, it's worth it! Thats all for now. I'll see you all next time!
