Ten of the greatest minotaur warriors gave up their bodies over 1,000 years ago in order to become one of the most reviled and feared fighting forces ever assembled, the Requiem Guard, created to combat the invading Equestrian forces. After a betrayal by King Asterion's son, aligned with Luna and Celestia, two of them were destroyed, and the other eight thrown into Tartarus for 1,000 years. Only now, a millennia later, are they finally released by the desperate Dragon Alliance, looking to them as allies of last resort in the fight against the present day Equestrians, in the far north of the Crystal Empire.
