Fallout Equestria: Hanashis of a Samurai
Colors of the Past
Load Full StoryGrey.
The skies were a bleak, colorless grey, like they had always been, so many times before. Rain fell down on the tattered wasteland, and a soft, chilly breeze filled the air. Towns were silent, as they had been for over 200 years. The whispers of ponies long dead were carried with the whistling winds, which would travel from one end of this charred country, to another. For the most part, the Equestrian Wasteland was silent.
Many miles away from the pre-war cities which were once so grand, and secluded from the wasteland and it's dangers, lies a humble and peaceful town, one that shall never see a Wastelander for a very long time. But one pony in this town has seen the Wasteland here and back, having traversed the ruined soil of what used to be known as Equestria. His name? Prismatic Haiku.
In this town, a lone stallion sat alone in his house, enjoying his dinner, being sheltered from the furious rainstorm outside. The stallion had a clean, white coat, blue eyes, and a Jet-black mane which was well-done, apparently having not been effected by the wasteland and it's harshness His cutie mark was a entirely black blade, crossed through a Neighponese word standing for 'Honor'. He sighed to himself softly, as memories pulsated through his mind.
Suddenly, a knock was heard. Prismatic's ear twitched, and he turned his head to look up at the door.
"Hello...? Teacher, are you here?" A young and fragile voice asked from outside of the home. Prismatic smiled.
"Of course I'm here, Astral-kohai. Where else would I be? Please, do come in, you shouldn't be out there in this kind of weather." the stallion said.
The door of Prismatic's home slowly opened, as a drenched Astral Star stepped inside. He was a Unicorn stallion, with a coat of purple, eyes of a almond brown, and a mane that was also black, but having purple highlights that ran through his mane. His cutie mark was one of a large telescope, with a shooting star visible in the lens. Astral slipped inside, before looking towards Prismatic and his meal. Astrial blinked, before turning to look at his teacher. "Um, Teacher? Can I join you for dinner?" he asked, being completely drenched.
Prismatic chuckled lightly. "Of course. After all, it would be impolite if I did not allow you to enjoy a meal with me." he said, before lighting up his horn. "But... You are soaked, let me care of that." he says, before squeezing all of the rainwater out of his mane.
"Thank you, teacher." Astral said with gratitude, sitting down at the table, directly across from Prismatic.
"You do not need to thank me. I am only doing what I can to comfort others." Prismatic replied calmly, before levitating a small piece of sushi and eating it.
"Teacher....?" Astral asked after several seconds of silence, blinking and looking into his eyes. Prismatic looked up from his Sushi, meeting Astral's gaze.
"What is it, Astral-kouhai?" the stallion asks calmly, his horn losing it's faint glow as Astral spoke.
"Um... Well, teacher, I know I've asked this many times, but.... Can you tell me a story? About how you became so wise, modest, and good?" the stallion asked. Prismatic just smiled, closing his eyes.
"I presume that it has been long enough that I can tell you my story. What would you like to hear?" he asked. Astral grinned widely, even going to the extent of slightly standing. His eyes filled with excitement.
"What about the first few months after you left your old home?" he asked with enthusiasm. Prismatic chuckled, closing his eyes.
"Perhaps I can tell you....." he replied.
Astral smiled widely, sitting back down, and waiting patiently, before lighting up his horn to get some sushi, preparing for the massive adventure that would lie ahead.
