Twilight is given a notebook by Celestia herself, something as a test of moral.
The notebook, called a 'Death Note', harnesses the ability to control death. Twilight Sparkle, element of magic and bringer of justice, decides that redeeming villains isn't always enough, and decides to take matters into her own hooves.
That is, until a detective with a sweet tooth and passion for justice comes along.
