//-------------------------------------------------------// The Legend's Flying -by Mystic Solaris Knight- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Flight //-------------------------------------------------------// The Flight "Scoot...Are...go...my...con...?" "Huh?" Scootaloo shook her head, only to find Applebloom's hoof waving in front of her face. Scootaloo smacked Applebloom's hoof away and turned her attention to Sweetie Belle. "What did you say?" Now, at the age of fourteen, Sweetie Belle and Applebloom have founded their cutiemarks, and they realized it was right in front of their eyes the whole time! Sweetie Belle's curly mane had grown longer, and Applebloom was still wearing her pink bowtie. Sweetie's talent was, of course, singing while Applebloom's was carpentry. Scootaloo haven't found her cutiemark and can't fly yet. Sweetie Belle groaned and rolled her eyes in annoyance, "For Celestia's sake! Are you going to my concert?" "Oh, um, yeah!" Scootaloo nodded. "Ya gotta git yer mind off of that cutiemark!" Applebloom sighed. "Just because me an' Sweetie got our cutiemarks first, doesn't mean that you won't!" Now it was Scootaloo's turn to sigh, "You're right...I'm sorry...It's just that...I haven't been able to fly yet. Not even the greatest flier of Equestria can help me!" Sweetie and Applebloom fought the urge to roll their eyes at Scootaloo's idol. Sweetie laid a hoof on Scootaloo's shoulder, "Don't worry, we're here to help you." "Yeah, we're yer friends!" Applebloom nodded. Scootaloo gave them a soft smile, "Thanks, gals." "Hiya, girls!" Pinkie chirped happily. "Wanna eat anything today?!" Forgetting they were in Sugarcube Corner the whole time, they snapped back into reality as Applebloom answered, "We'd like to have one strawberry, one chocolate, and one vanilla milkshake wi-" "With cookies on top!" Pinkie interrupted before winking, "I know what you want!" They stared at her in bewilderment as they watch her trot to the kitchen. Sweetie Belle shrugged, "She's just being Pinkie Pie." Scootaloo and Applebloom could only nod in agreement. They searched for a place to sit on and found the perfect place... ...only to be taken by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. "Well well," Diamond sneered, "if it isn't Scootaloser." "You take that back!" Sweetie Belle stomped her hoof in anger. "As if," Silver scoffed, her nose high in the air, "She barely can even fly!" "Yeah," Diamond smirked. Scootaloo was gritting her teeth, trying hard not to kill them in a second. "Even Pound Cake can fly faster than you." Pound Cake, at the age of four, laughed, not understanding this, "Scoobaboo!" The CMC glared at the two bullies before Applebloom said, "C'mon, girls, let's find another place to sit on." "Yeah, we certainly don't want to waste our time with these losers," Silver laughed and Diamond soon joined in. The trio walked away angrily before they sat on the empty seats. "Here's your milkshakes, girls!" Pinkie smiled as she placed the drinks on the table. "Just like you wanted!" "Thanks, Pinkie," they said in unison before slurping their milkshakes. "So, what are you planning to do?" Asked Sweetie Belle, taking a bite of her cookie. Before Scootaloo could reply, Sweetie Belle gasped and hid behind Applebloom, "He's here!" "Wha-?" Applebloom looked at Sweetie Belle in confusion. "Who's here?" Asked Scootaloo, looking around. "Button Mash!" She squeaked. She had a huge crush on Button Mash ever since he came to school. "How do I look?" "Ya look fine, Sweetie Belle," Applebloom rolled her eyes. "It's not like he's going to march here anyti-" "Hi, girls!" Button Mash trotted to them, wearing a huge smile on his face. "Ah take that back," Applebloom muttered before wearing a fake smile at Button Mash. "Hiya, Button!" "Hi!" Button repeated before looking around, "Have any of you girls seen Sweetie Belle?" "He's asking about me!" Sweetie Belle gasped before covering her mouth. Button's ears perked up immediately at the sound of Sweetie Belle. "Sweetie Belle?" He thought out loud. Sweetie jumped out of her hiding place and smiled, "Yes, Button?" "Oh there you are!" Button laughed. "You free tonight?" "Ooh," Applebloom winked at Sweetie Belle while Scootaloo made a disgusted face. Sweetie Belle blushed red and nodded, "Yes, why?" "Great! We can play my JoyBoy together!" Button beamed, bouncing off in happiness, "See you at dinner!" Applebloom and Scootaloo snickered. "Wow, what a way to ask out his date," Scootaloo snorted. Sweetie shot a glare at them, silencing them. "Let's not talk about Button, okay?" She sighed. "Okay," Scootaloo smirked at Sweetie Belle, making her burn in embarrassment. "Applebloom? Can you help me out tonight?" "Oh, uh, sorry, Scoots," she mumbled, "Ah've got to do homework tonight." "And I will go to Button's house," Sweetie squeaked before covering her mouth with a blush. Applebloom snickered at this before she got silenced by a glare from Sweetie Belle. Scootaloo sighed, "Alright...see you tomorrow then." Applebloom and Sweetie Belle exchanged glances as they watched Scootaloo walk out Sugarcube Corner. "Ah do hope she's alright," Applebloom said, her voice filled with worry. "Me too," Sweetie nodded in agreement. "Hey, Champ!" Scootaloo gasped as she looked up to the sky to find a rainbow-maned cyan pegasus hovering in the sky, "RAINBOW DASH!" Rainbow smirked as she ruffled Scootaloo's purple mane, "Wassup, Champ? How's your flying doin'?" Scootaloo flexed her wings, "Not really working well, but I managed to fly for about ten seconds!" "Keep up the good work!" Rainbow smiled. "Hey, me and Twilight are performing some new tricks up ahead. Wanna join?" "Would I?!" Scootaloo yelled excitedly, her eyes sparkling. "Of course I would! Let's go!" Rainbow laughed as she trotted with Scootaloo to their destination (since Scootaloo couldn't fly with her). "Oh, there you are, Rainbow!" Twilight smiled, waving at them. "I see that Scootaloo is accompanying you." "Hi, Twilight!" Scootaloo waved at her. "Yeah, Scoots here are gonna watch me perform!" Rainbow smirked. "You?" Twilight raised an eyebrow. Rainbow realized her mistake as soon as she chuckled nervously, "Uh, I mean, you and me!" Twilight smiled, "Then let's do it!" "Not so fast, Twi!" Rainbow stopped her. "I'll show a demonstration!" Rainbow swooped into the air, looking down at them. "Remember: flap your wings in circles and make sure you're relaxed!" Rainbow flew higher and shouted, "Don't be scared of heights! It'll break your concentration! Don't forget to push forward! Like this!" She dived forward, lost in speed as Twilight noticed that the black clouds began to light, "Oh no...RAINBOW! STOP!" BOOM! But it was too late. Rainbow stopped flapping in fright and pain as she was hit by a thunder storm! Her wings were paralyzed as she fell to Earth. Twilight flew as fast as she could, flapping her wings hard as Rainbow's screams echoed through the empty fields. "Rainbow!" Scootaloo yelled, trying her hardest to fly. "Come on, stupid wings!" "NO!" The cyan pegasus collided in the dirt, and a huge soundwave hit them all; making Twilight lose her concentration of using her magic. Scootaloo coughed the dust out of her mouth. Her eyes widened as she realized what had happened. She galloped to the area where Rainbow collided with. "Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo and Twilight yelled, looking for their friend. "I found her!" Scootaloo yelled, pointing at the blue object ahead. They came to her hurriedly before Twilight put a hoof to her mouth, stopping Scootaloo from looking at the sight. With a shaky breath, she ordered Scootaloo sternly, "G-get t-the ot-thers...quick..." Scootaloo can only nod as she left Twilight alone with Rainbow Dash, shouting for help on top of her lungs. Applejack patted Twilight's back in comfort. They were in the waiting room of the hospital. Fluttershy and Rarity were crying silently, Pinkie Pie had her mane deflated, and Scootaloo was pacing back and forth on the shiny floor. The door clicked open, and as soon as they heard it, they immediately stood up to face the doctor. "H-how is s-she?" Twillight whispered. "She fractured a broken rib, her head is bleeding a bit, and her wings...they are in a bad shape," the doctor shook his head, "but overall, she will make it through." The friends gave sighs of relief as they hugged each other gratefully. "Can we see her?" Scootaloo asked quietly. The doctor nodded as he opened the door wide open. Scootaloo trembled at the sight of her idol. Rainbow Dash had tubes connected to her body, her wings bandaged, and her head wrapped with a white cast. "Rainbow Dash?" She muttered. "Are you okay?" Rainbow's eyes opened slowly at the sound of her biggest fan's voice. "Scoots?" She croaked hoarsely. "You're okay!" Twilight hugged her, careful of her broken rib and wings. "I'm so sorry! If only I was there faster! If only I could catch you with my magic! If onl-" "It's alright, Twi," Rainbow patted her back. "It's my fault for not paying attention to the weather. I should've remembered that it was scheduled for today. I guess I was a bit excited." "Are you okay?" Fluttershy asked timidly, wiping the tears off of her pale face. "Yeah," Rainbow nodded before wincing in pain. "Ow, nothing's wrong with my wings, right?" "Well," they glanced at each other nervously, making Rainbow look pale in fright. "R-right?" She whispered. "They...they...broke," Applejack held her hat close to her chest in sorrow. Rainbow's pupils were small as pins. "W-what?!" She look back to her bandaged wings. "No no no no no, tell me this is a dream! They're gonna heal right?!" The doctor nodded calmly, "Yes, but it'll take a few weeks for them to heal." "A few weeks?!" Rainbow cried. "No..I can't wait that long!" Her friends consoled her as Rainbow sobbed in her hooves. Scootaloo couldn't believe it. Her idol is crying! Scootaloo felt a pang of sadness. She knew what it's like to wait for fourteen years to fly. Scootaloo walked up to Rainbow Dash and placed her hoof on her shoulder with a small smile. Rainbow looked up to her in surprise. Scootaloo felt tears streaming down her face as she spoke, "You're not alone."
