Chapter 3: The bugs are coming

After a few fours of treating Elite Jordan said, "how is everyone on ammo?" Shana said, "I am good." Elite said, "I have ammo, but I can only use my magnum sidearm." Korben said, "I have 50 rounds left out of 1000, I am really low on the ammo." Jordan looked at him and said, "korben go to the armory, it is down the corridor and it should have some minigun ammo." Korben nodded and left the infirmary. Shana said, "we need to get him out of here and to a hospital, we can't do much here." Jordan said, "no, we can't go until the mission is complete, we were deamed expendible." Daring said, "what does that mean?" Elite looked at her and said, "it means that we won't be able to leave nor will we be able to call for reinforcements anytime soon." Jordan said, "go keep Korben company." She said, "why should i take orders?!" Elite whispered, "don't." Jordan said, "well for one we saved your life and we kept your rival from keeping you here forever and Korben almost died for you, Elite also got hit for you. And finally we lost two squad mates keeping you alive, don't ask me why again, you hear me!" She nodded and flew to the armory. Jordan said, "wow, she has an attitude." Elite just nodded. Korben was sitting down putting in his ammo, he looked at his gun and the ammo counter said 1000, he had full ammo, he was about to clean some guts off it, but he heard the door open o he took out his pistol and aimed it at Daring Do, once he saw it was her he put the gun down and said, "you shouldn't mess with someone like me like that." She decided to sit down next to him, and said, "Jordan told me to come here and make sure you don't get into trouble." Korben just laughed a bit and said, "he meant he needed some time to decompose from losing two of his squad mates, it will mess with a squad leader." Daring asked, "why?" He Replied, "because they were his responsibility and now he has to tell their families and hear their sadness. Plus he lost two friends." She replied, "oh, I can see that, but how are you handling it?" Korben replied, "I am fine, I am used to losing squadmates, I used to be in the army and I traveled to Iraq. everyone except me died there, I remember every second of it, it is painful. Also I contraced a disease that paralyzed half of my leg so I was dishonorable discarged. Meaning I was in the world with no money. I took this job to pay the bills, now I can't do anything else or I can't eat. I have had a hard life." She had a tear in her eye, she wrapped her arm around his shoulders and said, "I am sorry Korben." They hugged it out for a minute before she said, "do you think that the portal opened because we are destined to be with each other?" He replied, "I don't know, we have no records from that time, they could be right, or one of their "spirital" leaders told them that." She replied, "maybe, but why would it say it on the side I came through?" He just shrugged. Korben was about to say something, but Daring put her lips on his. Normally he would of pushed a girl back, but this time felt different, he just accepted it and kissed with her. About ten minutes later Shana came through the door and said, "Korben five minutes until we push on their locatio- oh, make it ten." Korben and Daring just continued to kiss. Shana was walking back to the med ward, Jordan came out and asked, "where is Korben?" She said, "he is dancing the dirty tongue tango with our visitor." He replied, "oh, Korben is actually getting some, he's good." She nodded. Ater ten minutes Korben and Daring Do entered the med bay, She sat down on a nearby stool whiled Korben stood there and asked, "what's the plan sir?" He replied, "we are going to go head first into the lab, once there we kick ass." Shana asked, "how, we tried that and we lost two and a half men." She snickered at her comment while Elite flipped her off, Jordan said, "Korben, take point, Elite cover our exit." He replied, "yes sir." Korben said, "yes sir." Jordan yelled out, "MOVE OUT!" They were at the lab entrance minutes later, Jordan said, "Korben drop some flares and get down there." He nodded, he lit up three flares, they were green in color and threw them down. He waited a minute, but there was no movement, he said, "so that's how it's going to be huh, bring it on." Korben jumped down, about half way there he grabbed the wire and slid down, when he hit the bottom he revved up his minigun ready to fire. After a minute of nothing he yelled, "CLEAR!" Sadly after he yelled that he heard, "bbuzzzzzzzzz." His eyes widened as he saw about a hundred of them flying right at him, he fired his minigun and yelled, "YOU PICKED THE WRONG HUMAN TO CHARGE!!!" Jordan and Shana quickly slid sown the wire to backup Korben, all they were hearing was death and his minigun. When they got down they saw Korben being cornered, he yelled, "MOTHERF**KERS!" Jordan and Shana started to thin out the attacking bugs, Korben was in the right corner about ten feet away from them. Korben's minigun jammed up a minute later, he said, "no no no no, AAHHHH!" He dropped his mingun and took out his two knifes and started to chop them up, Jordan and Shana yelled, "FALLBACK KORBEN!" He replied, "I would if I could!" After he said that one of the bug's claw went through his gut, he was coughing up blood, he took out two grenades and said, "Jordan, ergh, Shana.... go NOW!" They looked and saw the grenades. They took cover behind a nearby desk, Korben thought, "it figures the first time a girl kisses me I die, sigh." He pulled the pins and threw them at the bugs, a second later the grenades exploded killing almost all of the bugs. Jordan and Shana peeked out behind the desk, but the last living one sliced off Shana's head killing her, Jordan said, "oh, my, god." Daring Do flew down to see if everyone was alive, she saw tons of green blood plus Shana's head rolling into the center, Jordan hiding behind the desk and Korben uncontious in the corner, she asked, "Jordan, you okay?" He nodded and said, "go check on Korben!" She flew over to his body, his gut was cut and bleeding out, she took a nearby med kit off the wall and put as much gauze on it as possible, his eyes opened up a little bit, he said in a quivering tone, "D-D-Daring, I won't make it." "Don't say that, I just need more gauze, you'll make it." She was crying, he weakly put his hand on her shoulder, "it's okay, I have already proved everyone wrong, I CAN get to first base." She closed the wound, but it was still bleeding. She tried to drag him a little ways, but he yelled, "STOP OW! I can't move, it hurts to much." Jordan picked up Korben and put him on his back, "Elite, we need you to make sure we got medical equipment, Shana's dead and Korben is hit bad." Elite responded, "I will make sure it's ready, just get up here, just please don't let my son die."
