Chapter 3: Motherhood lessons and experience

The Princesses had a long day today, and each where now enjoying a nice resting nap because of the activities and for Luna giving birth then changed by the Elements of Harmony! That all would be exhausting to somepony like her would it? Celestia had her day filled by first fighting Nightmare Moon the evening she returned, celebrating her sister's return, then a standard meeting after changing a part of her body to nurse a new foal! Both had a long day and it was only the afternoon! But now it is here we rejoin them...Luna, her daughter, and Celestia, enjoying a much deserved nap.

***Luna***

Luna's day was trying yet rewarding...after what she went through her day in the garden with her foal was just the thing she needed, that and the nap she and Jewel were taking, the scene was cute and tranquil, a mother and foal sleeping peacefully; but this was short lived for now Jewel was now waking up after a hour long nap, and attention was what she wanted.

Luna awoke to her daughter's noises, groggily she awoke but did so quickly as well, with maternal instincts kicking in.

"I'm here Jewel I am coming" Luna called out as she made her way to Jewel's crib.

"There there Jewel, what is it?" Luna asked motherly, soon however she knew.

"Goodness! Somepony needs to be changed..." Luna said recoiling from a sharp smell.

Luna however was still new to this as most are and she did not have what she needed, so she called a guard for the help she needed, her wait was a little long but soon it arrived.

"Thank you so much" Luna said as aides were moving in to help with Jewel.

"Most welcome your Majesty, that is why we are here" one nanny said.

The aides were nannies but despite their presence they were assistants only, Celestia and Luna where different from past royals, since they were raised by their parents and not nannies, Celestia and Luna wanted nothing more than the same for Jewel. So Luna assisted hooves on directly in the simple process of changing Jewel's diaper, the group of 4 nannies instructed Luna on what to do and soon Jewel was clean again.

"There you are my little Jewel" Luna said happily while Jewel smiled and squealed joyfully in return.

"We are ready always Mam" the lead nanny said her voice having a light very high and soft feminine tone similar to Fluttershy but more matured in tone.

"Thank you again" Luna said.

The nannies bowed their heads then left the room, leaving Luna and her daughter alone once more. After that Luna then played with Jewel as one could do with a newborn, simple tickles and small things like that, but after a while once again Jewel was in need of a different care than attention...food.

Luna then knew what she had to do, while assuring Jewel she would feed her she quickly made her way to Celestia's room with directions given by guards, soon she arrived and luckily for her Celestia was awake and unoccupied.

****Celestia****

Celestia was enjoying some more relaxing after my nap and she had to say, it was the best sleep she had in ages!! It has been too long since I slept as well as I have and I have to owe it to perhaps Luna's return and having a niece to love in addition I suppose....Celestia said to her self, Celestia was simply taking it easy while waking when she heard a knock at her door.

"Oh well, I guess my break is over" Celestia said.

"Come in!~" Celestia called out sweetly.

Celestia watched as Luna entered my room and with her was Diamond Jewel, I wonder what Luna needs?

"Celestia, she needs milk again" Luna said.

'Ah I thought as much' she thought, "Oh of course!" Celestia said invitingly.

"Bring her here, let's feed the poor thing" Celestia said, Luna did so quickly.

"There there Jewel...here you go little one" Celestia cooed at Jewel as she took her from Luna and placed her by her breasts once more, after seeing what she was placed in front of, Jewel latched on immediately and happily fed.

"Aw~ There you go, now drink slowly Jewel" Celestia said tenderly, "There's plenty" Celestia added as a matter of fact that was also amusing in a dry way, Luna chuckled at that and spoke.

"I wish I could help sister..." she said with a guilty look.

"Luna I am happy you want to help but you are physically too young to help...when you are back to normal you can help" Celestia said with a grateful expression.

"I know...there has to be a way to help me get my form and magic back" Luna said frustrated.

"Believe me I know Luna" Celestia said nuzzling Luna lovingly, the moment of Celestia comforting Luna was interrupted when...

"Ouch!" Celestia said softly and suddenly, Jewel even though she had no teeth had gummed Celestia's breast a little hard during her feeding, Celestia recoiled at this a little but Jewel was oblivious to this as she kept on nursing, but Celestia felt like a word was needed to be said here.

"Jewel? That hurt, do not bite me please" Celestia said sternly yet gently, Jewel stopped when she heard Celestia speak and looked at her, "Do you hear me Jewel? No biting" Celestia repeated herself, Jewel then made a guilty expression.

"I forgive you Jewel" Celestia said comfortingly hugging Jewel, Jewel then smiled when she got the hug and soon returned to eating.

"Well one thing Tia, Jewel sure eats alot" Luna said smiling.

"I will have to watch that, don't want her to get fat do we?" Celestia said giggling.

"Her? Fat? Unlikely! We are incapable of gaining weight" Luna said.

"Careful Luna, it may happen one day..." Celestia warned playfully.

"Yes sister" Luna said chuckling, as she did so Jewel ceased her feeding.

"There we go, fed once more and happily full" Celestia said warmly.

"That is where I come in, this I can do" Luna said as she picked up Jewel and held her to burp her of which Jewel did and did well!

"Goodness! That was unmare-like of you...but you don't care do you?" Luna said playfully.

"That was a large burp from such a little filly!" Celestia said giggling in a surprised tone.

"Indeed" Luna agreed, snuggling her foal.

"Well since I am up, I owe you a meeting with somepony" Celestia said getting up, she was a little slow to rise since she had been resting a while, so Luna then assisted in help her sister up much to Celestia's appreciation. The three princesses then left to find Princess Cadence, after a long walk they arrived at the two story house atop a private tower, of Cadence in a private area of the capital.

**Residence: Princess Mi Amore Cadenza**

"I hope Cadence is home" Celestia said as they approached.

"What do you have to tell me about Cadence?" Luna asked.

**"Well, I adopted Cadence when she was a filly, she was orphaned for some reason and adopted by a small town, she defeated an evil mare and changed her to good, because of her efforts and natural ability I made the then pegasus filly into my alicorn niece" Celestia explained.

"How did you do that?" Luna asked amazed.

"I will explain that another time" Celestia said, she then knocked on the door to the house and waited.

"Coming!" a voice sounded from the other side, after a moment the door opened revealing a pink alicorn mare.

"Oh! Hello Aunt Tia!" Cadence said hugging Celestia.

"Hello my dear, I have two ponies I'd like you to meet; my sister Luna, and her foal Diamond Jewel" Celestia said pointing a hoof at the two mention mares.

"Sister?...you never told me this" Cadence said perplexed.

"I know Cadence, I should have but I felt I guess you did not need to...it is complicated...anyways I wanted her to meet you" Celestia explained, "May we come in?" Celestia asked.

"Of course, please" Cadence said moving aside.

"Thank you" Celestia said.

"Your foal is cute and beautiful Luna..." Cadence said warmly.

"Thank you Cadence, I hope to get to know you further" Luna said.

"I hope to as well" Cadence said warmly moving in to see Luna's foal to which Jewel seemed to like Cadence right off the bat.

"Well...you seem to be good with foals Cadence..." Luna remarked in light amazement.

"I foal sat when I was younger" Cadence explain, nuzzling Jewel lovingly resulting in Jewel squealing happily and grabbing Cadence muzzle.

"I see...well, it seems I have no reason now to doubt my sources for lessons on raising a foal" Luna said confidently.

"Indeed; also for your information sister, she foal sat Twilight" Celestia spoke up from with in the living room area.

"Really?" Luna asked amazed.

"M-hmm...she and I became great friends after that, I am even dating her brother of which I met in my Canterlot Academy days" Cadence said.

"And he would be?..." Luna asked.

"Aunt Celestia's Captain of the Guard, 'Shining Armor Sparkle'" Cadence explained.

"I see...interesting information dear niece, most fascinating details" Luna said genuinely, though saying this was a lot to take in would qualify more as an understatement than being the correct term for all this knowledge she was taking in....

There was still much more for her to learn about...new technology, fashion, and social culture she needed to be updated on....this was all so overwhelming!

"There will be time to talk and take things in" Celestia said nuzzling Luna lovingly.

"Thank you sister...." Luna said.

"Luna? May I?" Cadence asked gesturing to Luna to hoof over Jewel.

"Oh of course! Since you have experience and she seems to like you" Luna said warmly as she hoofs over Jewel.

Jewel immediately was smiling and giggling as Cadence held her, then Cadence was while holding her tickled her with her hoof, while being watched by Luna and Celestia who were smiling warmly as Cadence bonded with her adopted-cousin in a cute and adorable way.

"So Tia, I take it you are Diamond Jewel's Wet-Nurse huh?" Cadence acknowledged observing her Aunt's body.

"Yes Cadence, and I must say it is an interesting experience" Celestia said.

"I can imagine....I think I would like foals one day, my life seems to be saying I would if I did because of my foal sitting and Jewel here" Cadence said as Jewel was playing with Cadence's face.

"I would not be surprised" Celestia said laughing at Jewel entertaining herself with Cadence's face.

"Do-u-wike-muy-faceth?" Cadence said as Jewel was playing now with Cadence's cheeks, Jewel simply laughed in reply.

"It appears you can keep Jewel entertained without even trying!" Luna laughed.

"It-seems-wike-it" Cadence said her cheeks being pulled and squished with Jewel laughing harder.

"That is so cute!" Celestia said smiling putting a hoof to her mouth.

"Yes, most adorable; I might have to try to have Jewel do that with me" Luna said smirking.

"Well...let us see if she will" Cadence said now that Jewel had her laugh from Cadence's face.

"Now?" Luna asked.

"Why not? Unless she is done and you can try later" Cadence said returning Jewel to Luna.

"I shall" Luna replied as she held Jewel once more, as she did Jewel first snuggled with Luna then looked back at Cadence smiling.

"Hey, Celestia? May I help with her?" Cadence asked.

"I don't think there would be any problems with that" Celestia said with her signature playful smirk.

"Good! But um....what if she needs food?" Cadence asked.

"I can bottle my milk for her" Celestia said, "I probably should actually consider that in place of direct nursing in the event I am unable to" Celestia added.

"That way I can be there more with her for more things she needs" Luna said.

"True, since you are her mother this will help you" Cadence said.

"Indeed...not that I mind Celestia playing a part...after a thousand years having something to bond over is a breath of fresh air" Luna said nuzzling Celestia.

"Aw~ Thank you Luna" Celestia said returning the gesture.

The two spent an hour more socializing and then they left to head back to the Keep for a meal of there own, they ate almost silently then went on to do whatever needed to be done or for one whatever came to mind; there day was slowly officially becoming a full first day reunited as loving siblings and Heads-of-State. As the day winded down with Celestia still lowering the sun while raising the moon was naturally due to today's events the happiest days of her life! As she rose the moon she was simply glowing with joy at the thought that soon her sister will once again being doing this act again after 1,000 years; she also could not believe how much happened in just under twenty-four hours!! One does not see this...let alone often....Princess Celestia, the motherly, wise, kind, and beloved ruler of the Nation of Equestria....skipping, skipping lightly as she walked down the halls, while humming a nameless tune while wearing the biggest smile one has ever seen on the solar princess's face; guards were a little surprised and subtly amused to see Princess Celestia in such a gleeful mood, she even had a airy, light, melodic tone to her voice more pronounced than usual when she addressed ponies in passing, truly to many....it was heartwarming to see Celestia so happy as she made her way to dinner, and there were many more days of her like this to come.

Chapter 4: Dinner and a Day out

Celestia as she made her way to dinner was the happiest she has been in ages! After a day with her sister, after having her back in general, and her niece Luna's foal, and Cadence and the time they had there all gave a glow to Celestia that one would see as joy or mistake for her being pregnant, either way her joy and smile was infectious as it was felt and return by any who passed her. As Celestia lightly pranced like a filly to dinner she wondered what kind of day awaited her tomorrow! Soon she was in the dining area with her sister in which Luna noticed with a smirk at her elder sister's jubilant mood.

"You are in quite a good mood sister" Luna said feeding herself as she looked at Celestia.

"Well look at our day! Plus Luna, I have you again" Celestia said emphasizing her last point with a hug for Luna.

"Quite...anyways Jewel certainly had a busy day has she?" Luna asked.

"Oh I would say so! Also the way she was with Cadence...*sigh*" Celestia recalled with a dreamy nostalgic expression.

"Yes Tia, she and Cadence certainly got along very well indeed, I would love to have Jewel and Cadence spend more time together" Luna said chuckling at Celestia over-zealous joy.

"Mm yes....Jewel was just too cute! The laughs she had just playing with Cadence's face was entertainment for even for me" Celestia added.

Truly to say Celestia was happy would be a gross understatement! Celestia looked comedically drunk on her happiness, she was chatty, giggly, giddy, and energetic, truly this could not be Celestia could it? Well it was and Luna knew it was, and she was eating dinner with her, but despite her sister's hyperness it brought a smile to her face know that she and her daughter were the source of said joy and enthusiasm; she certainly wanted did not want to stop being what made her sister so happy.

"I think due to your hyperactive mood you should skip dessert sister" Luna chuckled.

"Oh Luna...please, I'm alright to have dessert! Don't be making decisions for me" Celestia said rolling her eyes and pouted, Luna laughed as a result and said.

"You're acting like a filly, please sister...I am just making sure you are happy yet controlled" Luna said nuzzling her sister.

"I guess...." Celestia said relenting returning Luna's nuzzle.

"Good...you can have a small dessert" Luna said in a parental tone.

Celestia squee'd in delight and chuckled as she then said nuzzling Luna, "It seems you are showing skill in being a mother already...I am proud of you..." Luna smiled in reply and said.

"Thank you...and you were testing again me were you?" Luna said with a knowing smile.

"You have caught on huh?" Celestia asked with an impish smile.

"I learned from you" Luna said.

Celestia then struck, tickling her younger sibling suddenly and quickly before she could react and after a short tickle battle they hugged once more and said to each other, "I love you sister".

Later on they eventually had dessert, it was then Celestia mentioned she had something to show her.

"Remember earlier something we thought would be best?" Celestia said, just then a castle staff member walked up with 3 full bottles on a platter, but these were for foals, it was then Luna remembered what her sister was talking about.

"Oh of course! Thank you sister" Luna said gratefully.

"I had those filled earlier, I even provided you a refrigerator for your room to keep them chilled, and a microwave to heat them" Celestia said with a smile.

"Even better! This is most helpful!" Luna beamed happily.

"Well Luna you have to be prepared, so now you are" Celestia spoke while eating her dessert.

"Good, and of course I will keep you informed when her supply needs restocking" Luna said.

"As you should, but thank you for saying you will" Celestia said gratefully.

"Welcome; but first...can you show me how to use the 'Microwave'" Luna asked with an awkward grin.

"Of course Luna...I will do so before we head to bed" Celestia promised nuzzling her sister.

"Good...also, just how long do I heat the milk?" Luna asked in addition.

"Until the milk is warm like it was fresh" Celestia answered.

"Ah, I see; how do I test it after heating?" Luna asked.

"To check temperature, shake the bottle in one sharp shake until it streams from the bottle on to your *fetlock" Celestia replied.

"Perfect" Luna replied.

"Always happy to help" Celestia said warmly.

"Wait!" Luna said suddenly thinking of Jewel, "Jewel needs dinner too!" Luna said nervously getting up off her seat, it was then Celestia placed a hoof on her to sit her back down and spoke.

"Easy Luna, I fed her dinner" Celestia said calmly, Luna breathed a sigh of relief at this and sat back in her seat.

"For the record Jewel seemed to take the bottles well, you should have no problems bottle feeding her" Celestia said, "However I learned that it is not fully recommended to keep bottle feeding a foal let alone an Alicorn foal, in which I will still try to nurse her as much as possible" Celestia said in addition.

"Understood sister, good to know" Luna said.

"Good; now for the record in addition since you are still newly return and you have a foal, you will still be taking Maternity leave" Celestia said finishing off her dessert, "I see...of course..." Luna said unsure what to think about that.

"I know you want to help rule the nation again, but Jewel and your health come first" Celestia said nuzzling her sister again.

"I know....and I know I cannot just leave her with Cadence..." Luna said in reply showing sadness still.

"Well.....on occasion Luna...even mother's deserve some alone time" Celestia said.

"Still...I feel guilty for thinking such a thing..." Luna said looking disgusted with herself.

"I know Luna, but trust me...there is no shame in it..." Celestia said, "If it helps you only take time away if it feels right" Celestia said.

"Alright sister...that sounds like an idea" Luna said.

"Excellent" Celestia replied.

The two enjoyed a little more time being together and then went to bed, but not before Celestia upheld her promise to show Luna how to use her new microwave, of which Luna was pleased how easy it was to use and got the idea quickly, after a little talk and saying their 'goodnight's' Celestia headed back to her room leaving Luna and Jewel alone and soon all three were asleep after their busy first day reunited now...for tomorrow and the days after.

**Tomorrow Morning: 1 hour til Sunrise**

Celestia was a little surprised how difficult it was for her to awake that morning...usually she was always quick to rise and do so a whole hour before dawn, luckily she did but was groggy when she did...she thought it may be both her altered body and/or her activity and energy she had the yesterday, either way she was surprised at her slow awakening, but she woke up and readied herself to raise the sun and lower the moon...before sleeping later for a short time before she wakes officially to start her day.

"Oh my g-goodness!" Celestia said stretching.

"I never had problems getting up before...must be because of yesterday...it was perfect" Celestia said smiling warmly in nostalgia.

"Well better get things going, I can sleep later for a little more then start the day" Celestia said standing up wincing at her stiff body.

"Ooo~....I hope I won't be stiff the whole day...." Celestia said extending her wings and stretching her legs; Celestia then while stretching winced again for a different reason.

"Ow! My breasts; looks like I need to milk them again" Celestia said; it was then she took time to milk herself and have the milk bottled and refrige-ed before she left her room to raise the sun and lower the moon to start the day for her subjects.

***Luna's Bedroom***

Luna continued to sleep soundly as she slept it her first bed in 1,000 years, as she slept she was in a dream-scape of some kind....as she walked around she then spoke to herself.

"I remember this place!" Luna said walking about.

"I used to monitor the dreams of our subjects here...." Luna recalled.

"Yes you did, and it was here Cadence was made an Alicorn" Celestia said appearing from the fog.

"Sister? What are you doing here?" Luna asked surprised; Celestia placed a hoof on her sister's shoulder and then spoke.

"I have a limited skill in Dream Walking, I have been doing this since you were banished" Celestia explained.

"Fascinating sister...most curious" Luna said looking at her surroundings.

"I however said my skills were limited, and I would love to see you once again perform this once more and protect the dreams of our subjects" Celestia said placing her left wing on Luna.

"I only hope that my subjects accept me first...." Luna said looking unsure.

"They will Luna...they will" Celestia said hugging Luna.

"Now, while your here, I want you to walk with me" Celestia said, Luna then did so and soon they were in a dream that looked like...

"Jewel?" Luna said surprised.

Jewel was busy playing with some rabbits, giggling a storm as she played, chasing the rabbits and when she caught them hugged them and smiled while laughing; the sight was to say 'adorable' would not be enough, words could not do justice here as Luna and her sister watched as Jewel dreamed.

"Hello Jewel" Luna said walking up, Jewel was then surprised to see her but soon walked on her hooves to her and hugged her mother.

"I see you made some friends" Luna said pointing at the rabbits.

Jewel looked at the rabbit that suddenly hopped forward to them, Jewel petted the rabbit first then Luna.

"Aw~....too cute" Celestia said smiling warmly as she watched, "I will never tire of this...." Celestia said in addition.

"I concur sister" Luna said watching Jewel chase a short distance after the rabbit that hopped to them.

The two sisters spent a little more time with Jewel in her dream then decided to move on, but not until of course telling Jewel first they will see her later and left Jewel to continue playing; soon the sisters were back in the Dream-scape realm and walking around again.

"You should know that in the matter of our subject's dreams, you will only be allowed to enter nightmares" Celestia said.

"I understand....but Jewel's dream..." Luna said thinking.

"I know Lulu, I loved being there, I could spend hours there...but that is an exception, foals dreams are slightly different enough so you can, on occasion enter regardless of it being nightmare or not" Celestia explained.

"I see...good to know, I will make good use of all information" Luna said mulling on what she was hearing.

"Don't worry Luna, you'll be fine" Celestia said nuzzling Luna lovingly.

The two spent even more time just talking and the like, but soon they parted ways for the coming dawn, as the two soon would awake and start their day again, something that the two sister would want nothing more to do better.

***Dawn***

The sun soon rose on the royal sister's second day reunited as two Heads-of-State over Equestria; the two awoke hours later after Celestia gave the sun an assistance in its rising, once again Celestia awoke feeling like she did not want to be knew she had to, weird considering their thoughts during their connected dream, Luna on the other hoof was more inclined to fall into slumber's grasp but her daughter....had other ideas....

Luna awoke to hear her daughter cooing upon waking up, she was not crying but made noises nonetheless; as she stirred Luna got off her extremely comfortable bed and saw to her foal.

"Hello~ My little darling" Luna cooed motherly at Jewel.

Jewel squealed joyfully when she saw her mothers face, Luna smiled warmly enough to be felt as she then picked up her daughter.

"Good morning to you Jewel!" Luna said surprised by her daughter's morning energy and zeal.

"Ready for another day?" Luna asked, Jewel laughed in reply "I'll take that as 'yes'" Luna remarked.

Luna and Jewel soon got their day started, with Jewel's second bath ever while Luna bathed and a meal, then Luna and Jewel left for the Kitchen so Luna could eat as well. The two then arrived, finding Celestia already there eating her own breakfast, she however looked like she could have had a little more sleep before awakening.

"Morning sister! I see you could have used more sleep?" Luna asked after her greeting and harmless observation, Celestia simply looked at Luna, smiled, and nodded before continuing eating.

"Sorry sister..." Luna apologized looking guilty.

"No Luna, it is alright...*yawn* I see Jewel looks well rested..." Celestia said groggily.

"She is! I admit I was surprised by her energy waking up" Luna said while Jewel looked around the room then at Celestia cutely before waving her hoof.

"I see...hello Jewel~" Celestia said sweetly giving a little wave it reply, "Did she sleep the whole night?" Celestia asked.

"Yes, she did; I woke up when the sun was up and at around 8:30" Luna said sitting down to eat, she placed Jewel in a seat made for her before she helped herself to breakfast.

"That is good...I have another day ahead...and-*yawn*...I have a few things to do then I have time off...as hard as it is to believe..." Celestia said.

"You should take it easy sister, just tell ponies that you are assisting in raising my foal and take time off" Luna said placing a hoof on her sister.

"I wish it was that easy Luna...but I am afraid I cannot..." Celestia said somberly.

"Yes, you can....and you will" Luna insisted.

"No I cannot" Celestia protested.

"Why not?" Luna asked incredulously.

"Because..." Celestia said rather weakly.

"That's not good enough sister" Luna said sternly.

While Luna was speaking with her sister, Jewel seemed to be upset by the quarrel and soon expressed her displeasure.

"Oh Jewel my dear...it is alright...Tia and I are just talking, it's alright~" Luna cooed as she then held her foal to comfort her.

"I am sorry too Luna...*sigh* I have just been under a lot since I was back to work after all that happened yesterday..." Celestia said looking guilty.

"All the reason to take more time off" Luna said tenderly.

"I guess...you are right Luna...I will admit, I would love sleeping in for a change...." Celestia said sheepishly smiling.

"No shame in that Tia" Luna said smiling warmly.

"I get that now Luna...and very well...I shall say I am indisposed for a while and I will be back when I do" Celestia said.

"Much better sister" Luna said proudly.

"I....I feel....wonderful" Celestia said looking proud of herself.

"Why? Because you discovered you can take time off?" Luna asked sarcastically with a smirk.

"Maybe" Celestia said smiling.

"What shall we do today once you arrange your days off?" Luna asked.

"Hmm....now that I am awake fully, I think a day out around Canterlot" Celestia said.

"Sounds good...relaxing around the capital at our leisure sounds like a perfect plan" Luna said now looking at Jewel.

"Would you like a day outside again?" Luna asked Jewel, Jewel just smiled as a reply.

"Very well then, we shall let Aunt Tia get herself ready and we shall be off" Luna said now standing to head back to her room.

"See you in a bit sister" Luna said cheerfully.

"See you later Luna" Celestia said now getting up herself to make arrangements.

Luna and Celestia went their separate ways to take care of things and be ready for another "sister's day out", Luna heading to her room and soon with another gift from her sister, placed Jewel in a new stroller made for her, it was perfect and Jewel seemed to like it very much.

"T'would look unusual for me and my sister...but it is perfect! I love it" Luna said warmly.

Jewel smiled and squealed happily at her mother.

"I see you are surely ready to go aren't you?" Luna giggled looking at her excited daughter.

"I just hope your aunt is too" Luna said looking at her door.

Meanwhile Celestia was making her own preparations as she made her schedule, she had some issues but soon had herself free at least for her day out with Luna.

"I can not wait for another day of relaxation with Luna, this will be just perfect! I hope Luna and Jewel like the stroller...it will look a little odd but...I could care less!" Celestia said once again prancing down the halls.

Celestia continued her stroll to Luna's room when she felt a familiar twinge again.

"*sigh* Well...I guess a milking first would help..." Celestia groaned as she made her way to her room first to be milked then head to Luna's room.

Luna began to pace waiting for her sister, standing next to Jewel then continued pacing; it was a few minutes more when there was a knock at her door.

"Come in!" Luna called, soon her elder sister stepped into view.

"Hello Luna! Sorry I'm late" Celestia said walking into the room.

"It is alright, you have a reason" Luna said.

"Yes, two reasons" Celestia said motioning to her breasts.

"Ah I see....well I'll think that it will be just as fun to me as to you when I take over...should she still need milk by then" Luna said hugging her sister.

"It is not that bad...." Celestia said.

"Is it?" Luna smiled playfully.

"Y-Yes and No" Celestia answered honestly with an awkward smile.

"Well...maybe I may have a better experience" Luna said chuckling.

"We'll see~...now come on let's get going" Celestia giggled.

The two finally were off to enjoy a sister's day out while taking Jewel along for even more bonding, it was between 70 and 75oF and the sun shone through a cloudless sky, and a light breeze just made the day picture perfect! Today was a beautifully gorgeous day to be out and about; as they walked yes they had perplexed stares and glances of Celestia and Luna with a stroller...but the two were in such a good mood and into each other's presence they had ne'er-a-care in the world.

They stopped at different places and cafe's while around the capital, talking small talks and playing with Jewel, all three had a relaxing time out, put on hold to change Jewel then continued their day, they all were smiling brightly ear to ear as they went about their day; soon they headed to their garden again to finish the day off, Jewel loved it here so it was a chance for Jewel to stretch and crawl to her content. Jewel played while Luna and Celestia watched her while relaxing, Celestia had never as a relaxing day quite like today in a long time, truly she could have more days just like this one if not similar.

The day now was winding down, on account of Jewel who had her fun for today for a while by falling asleep during their time in the garden, and the scene Celestia and Luna saw was as usual too cute, Jewel had just curled up where she laid and some rabbits decided to join her in her nap.

"Aw~....Reminds me of her dream" Celestia said softly.

"Indeed sister...and it looks just as peaceful..." Luna said.

"All the more reason to capture this moment don't you?" Celestia said bringing out a camera; Celestia had brought on there day out a camera to take pictures of their day together so to have memories kept to enjoy in the future, Luna was amazed by this device! She fell in love with the invention completely, and she surely wanted to remember this, so Celestia then placed the camera carefully and then *snap*, now Luna and Celestia had something they can enjoy and fawn over for years and years.

"Perfect!" Luna exclaimed softly.

"I am sure it will look wonderful when developed" Celestia beamed softly.

"I cannot wait..." Luna said with a smile gently picking her daughter up.

"I believe Jewel has a good idea don't you?" Luna said.

"Please Luna...I maybe taking it easy...but I do not want to become lazy..." Celestia said chuckling.

"I suppose...." Luna said as Jewel cuddled in Luna's grasp.

"You can hold her and I will get her stroller" Celestia said folding up the stroller.

Soon the three left back to the castle, those who saw them smiled and some were fawning over Jewel sleeping peacefully in Luna's grasp, soon Luna and Celestia said some words then parted to be off to where ever, with Luna off to her room to place Jewel in her bed. Luna was now back in her room and she was at her height of joy for she only had been back a day and she was as happy as she has been in a long time! Celestia was of course of the same opinion, and they both continue to hope for the best in their future.

Chapter 6: Dinner with friends

After a day of business for Luna, her sister, Twilight & Cadence; as well as a day of play for Diamond Jewel, this evening was going to be the scene for a pleasant dinner for Luna, her sister, and Jewel's friends along with their parents, this should be a night to enjoy for all who are involved.

That evening everypony dolled up for the evening meal, Luna got Jewel dressed up and at Jewel's request applied make-up just like herself so Jewel could look like her mother; the two then headed to Celestia's room to meet up with her before heading down to dinner.

"You excited Jewel?" Celestia asked.

"Yes"

"Good; you look beautiful Jewel, mommy help?" Celestia asked.

"Yes she did" Jewel replied happily.

"I think she did a good job, and that dress is lovely" Celestia said warmly.

"Thank you sister, she does look beautiful; she will be a lovely mare when grown up" Luna said.

"That she will Luna, that she will" Celestia said; the journey went on without anything more said.

The three finally arrived and the guests were seated appropriately at the respective tables with the adults at one table, the foals at the other with Jewel's friends smiling and then welcoming Jewel when they saw her.

"Hello everypony, thank you all for being here and making this evening possible; this means alot to Diamond Jewel and to myself" Luna said warmly and gratefully.

"The honor is ours Princess, and it is a pleasure to give Jewel and our foals a special evening" a mare said.

"Excellent" Celestia said moving to sit at the table while Luna escorted Jewel to hers.

"Hi everypony" Jewel said.

"Hi Jewel!" a white unicorn filly with red hair said.

"You look amazing Jewel" Stardust said.

"Thanks"

"Y-Y-You look pretty..." a blue unicorn said looking shy.

"Thanks Edwin" Jewel said smiling brightly.

"Welcome J-Jewel..." Edwin said shyly.

"Ooo!~ Edwin likes Jewel!~ Edwin likes Jewel!~" a pink unicorn filly said.

"Scarlett Ruby! That's not nice" Stardust scolded.

"Just saying!~..." Scarlett protested.

"I think it's cute!" a mint earth filly said.

"Thank you Mint leaf" Stardust said, Mint nodded in reply.

Jewel giggled at this in response to Edwin while Edwin blushed at this.

"Really?~ You like me?" Jewel asked.

"M-M-Maybe...." Edwin replied sheepishly.

"Eeeew!~" the blue pegasi colt said, Stardust clopped his shoulder.

"Ow! What was that for?" Cobalt Stone said.

"For being mean too!" Stardust replied.

"Sorry! Okay?" Cobalt replied.

"No fighting please?" Jewel asked.

"Okay Jewel, it's okay now" Stardust said.

"Everything okay over there?" Luna asked.

"Yes mom!" Jewel replied.

"Good, just making sure; I heard an argument earlier" Luna said.

"It's okay, Edwin here likes Jewel" Scarlett said.

**Adult's table**

"Really?" Luna said surprised yet looking interested.

"Aw~ Jewel's first crush" Celestia giggled.

"I am happy my son has an interest in Jewel, he can be shy" Edwin's mother responded.

"Is that so?" Luna asked.

"Yes, he is often shy around fillies...it has been a miracle after miracle since he made friends with fillies, now to show feelings to one is a blessing" Edwin's mother said beaming.

"I see, well nice to know he has become more social with fillies" Luna said.

"Now to see how far it will go" Edwin's mother said.

"I would advise more patience" Luna suggested.

"I will make use of your advise" Edwin's mother said.

"Are we playing match maker?" Celestia asked slyly.

"Nay sister" Luna deadpanned.

"Could've fooled me~" Celestia sang slyly.

"I could not impose on that Princess" Edwin's mother said.

"If Jewel takes interest, then I don't see why not" Luna said smiling.

"Excellent then! I am pleased about Edwin possibly finding love early" the mother said.

"Time will tell mam" Luna said sagely.

"True" the mother replied.

The evening went onward well with parents and foals chatting back and forth; earlier one mother asked Luna a question many mares would ask Luna consider what would be obvious.

"So...Princess Luna? How has parenthood been?" a mother asked.

"It has been....an experience, I must say that it comes as one could expect; for a recent example my insecurity when Jewel runs off to play, I panic" Luna said; Celestia chuckled as a result as well as some mothers.

"Well that is normal Luna, however there is a time one needs to trust their child and learn that it's okay to let their child have some freedom" a mother advised.

"It is hard for me....I am perhaps a protective mother, since I had ill intent when I made my child as Nightmare Moon, I only hope for the best and most pure life for Diamond Jewel..." Luna said; Celestia then put a hoof on Luna's shoulder and smiled warmly as also the mothers showed respect for Luna's wishes for her foal.

"We understand your Majesty, we respect your concern and find it a beautiful example of a mother's best intentions" a mother remarked.

"Thank you, thank you all" Luna said warmly.

"Anytime Princess, anytime" Edwin's mother replied.

"On a lighter topic, how was parenting when she was a filly?" a mother asked.

"Oh on that it was an experience as well, a sweet one too....however at the beginning it was Celestia who nursed Jewel" Luna recalled.

"I remember that...it was a strange experience...uncomfortable too due to my breasts admittedly" Celestia said blushing slightly.

"Oh I recall that too, the sensitivity" Edwin's mom said.

"The discomfort due to when they become too full" Scarlett's mother said.

"The weight as well and trying to walk or sit" Mint Leaf's mother recalled.

"The milking's were a relief though" Cobalt's mother remarked.

"Oh yes!" Celestia and a few mother's remarked at once, resulting in laughing.

"But the most fun is diaper changes" Stardust's mother remarked.

"I will admit, I am a bit ashamed I had help first; but I had just started so beginner's sympathy" Luna said.

"True; but for honest fun was just...the experience of holding my foal, rocking it to sleep" Stardust's mother recalled.

"The feeding" Cobalt's mother said warmly.

"Singing lullabies" Mint Leaf's mother recalled.

"Tucking them in" Luna said.

"Definitely!" Scarlett's mother said.

"Oh it is especially adorable to see them when they are all cuddled up in their blanket's either sucking their hoof and just looking peaceful" Luna said.

"I agree, I recall one time I came into your room; it was the first day Luna was in Canterlot, she and Jewel were asleep and I was checking them, Jewel looked so...peaceful, tranquil, and so innocent" Celestia recalled.

"Do you wish to have a foal yourself Celestia?" Cobalt's mother asked.

"One day Starshine, one day" Celestia said.

The evening was drawing to a close but first the dessert came and both foals and adults enjoyed their guilty treat, Celestia had as expected cake, Luna had some ice cream, the other mares had their choices and had idle chit-chat.

"This has been a pleasant and wonderful evening" Scarlett's mother said.

"It has, and judging from what I can see....Edwin and Jewel are hitting it off are they?" Celestia remarked looking over; the sight was adorable but simple, though they were all just talking or eating, Edwin had moved from his spot over to next to Jewel and they chatted lively with Jewel smiling ear to ear and laughing.

"Aaw!~....too cute!" Edwin's mother said.

"I concur, it is an adorable sight" Luna agreed.

"I feel this will be a beautiful friendship" Scarlett's mother said.

"I am hoping" Edwin's mother said.

*Foal's table*

"So, what do think we'll do tomorrow?" Scarlett asked.

"School again first" Cobalt said.

"Yeah I guess that is first, but after school?" Stardust asked.

"We'll see what happens" Jewel said.

"So~ You two going to be together?" Scarlett asked.

"So what if they are?" Mint leaf said, "That is their business".

"I like Edwin, I would love to have him as a 'together friend' " Jewel said nuzzling Edwin; Edwin blushed at this and the others laughed.

**Adult's table**

"Aaw!~ Jewel nuzzled Edwin!~" Scarlett's mother whispered into Edwin's mother's ear.

"Looks like she likes him~" Celestia whispered in Luna ear.

"I suppose...." Luna said observing.

"They are too young to be growing up this fast..." Edwin's mother remarked.

"Somethings happen regardless of age" Celestia said giggling.

"I suppose..." Edwin's mother said mimicking Luna's expression while observing.

*Foal's table*

"That is sooo cute!" Mint leaf said.

"Ew" Cobalt said again but now looking a hint of jealousy.

"Th-Th-Thank you J-Jewel" Edwin said shyly returning the nuzzle.

"Welcome Edwin" Jewel replied smiling while blushing.

"This is gonna be interesting" Scarlett remarked.

The evening finally drew to a close and Jewel's friends soon left, but one friend stayed a little longer.

"Hey um...Jewel?" Edwin asked shyly as he has been this evening.

"Yes?" Jewel replied.

"W-W-Would you like me sleeping over with you?" Edwin asked sheepishly.

"I would like that!" Jewel said happily bouncing in place, "Mommy! Mommy! Can Edwin stay the night?" Jewel asked her mother; Luna was a little unsure about the idea, Edwin's mother looked however eager, after a short moment Luna gave her answer.

"Okay sweetie, Edwin can stay the night" the moment Luna said those words Jewel was all over! Jewel was as happy if not happier than Luna had seen Jewel before, Jewel looked too cute as she bounced around before hugging her then hugging Edwin causing him to blush.

"I hope this is okay" Edwin's mom said.

"It will be no trouble" Celestia said.

"Thank you your Majesty" Edwin's mother said bowing lightly.

"Our pleasure" Celestia said warmly.

"Jewel? Would you show him where he needs to go?" Luna asked.

"Yes mommy!" Jewel said excitedly, Jewel then showed Edwin the way as the two trotted off.

"They are adorable together" Luna said.

"They are, are they?" Edwin's mother said, "Well I shall see you tomorrow morning" she said in addition.

"Oh that's okay, either Luna or I will take him to school with Jewel" Celestia offered.

"Thank you Princess! Thank you" Edwin's mother said gratefully.

"No problem at all" Celestia said kindly.

Edwin's mother smiled in response and bid her farewell before leaving, Celestia and Luna then walked in the direction that Jewel and Edwin took off.

"I was so happy that Jewel had made friends when she did, it does my heart good to see her making bonds as well" Celestia said.

"Very true...I was so afraid that Jewel would not make friends, so to see her surrounded by friends brought so much joy to me" Luna said beaming.

"Well things worked out so far have they?" Celestia asked sisterly.

"They have...I could not have imagined without you, Cadence, Twilight and her friends my life and Diamond Jewel's life being so perfect" Luna said nuzzling Celestia.

"I love you too sister...I feel the same way Luna" Celestia said tenderly; Luna and Celestia then continued their way to Jewel's room to say their goodnight's to the two friends.

*Jewel's Room*

"So what do you think?" Jewel asked.

"It is a nice room...pretty like the night sky" Edwin said.

"I liked it, plus my mom is Princess of the Night" Jewel said.

"I remember, you are lucky Jewel" Edwin said.

"I know...does my mom help your dreams?" Jewel asked.

"No not yet" Edwin said.

"That okay, you must have a lot of good dreams" Jewel reasoned.

"I do" Edwin says.

"Hello?~ How are we doing?" Luna said opening the door.

"Hi mom, we are doing fine" Jewel replied.

"Good, that is good to hear" Celestia said smiling as she entered behind Luna.

"Now remember don't stay up too late Jewel" Luna said.

"I won't mommy"

"Excellent, it is still early enough so have fun and be in bed by 9" Luna instructed.

"Yes mom"

"Sure thing Princess" Edwin said.

"Hey mom, did you know Edwin has wings too?"

"What?" Luna and Celestia asked.

"Yes, Edwin has wings like me and you" Jewel said excitedly.

"How?...." Celestia asked.

"Well, I was special...I was born this way" Edwin said.

"Really?" Luna asked unsure.

"Yes, mommy and daddy called me a 'miracle' " Edwin replied.

"I see...well I am sure you are special and wonderful son to your parents" Celestia said nuzzling Edwin.

"May we see your wings?" Luna asked, Edwin did as Luna asked and removed his PJ's the two Princesses were surprised and amazed by the colt's wings.

"They're beautiful, you have wonderful wings" Celestia said.

"I agree...you are a special colt" Luna said nuzzling Edwin.

"Th-Thank you" Edwin said shyly.

"You're welcome sweetheart, now then...play for a little longer then sleep well and sleep deep" Luna said smiling warmly as she left.

Celestia simply nodded her head to the foals then followed her sister from the room, leaving Jewel and Edwin alone once more.

"How curious is it, Edwin being a rare Alicorn born from non-unicorn or a lost race of Alicorn?" Luna asked.

"Indeed it is Luna, this is a unique circumstance that I would like to investigate" Celestia said.

"What do you mean sister? Why investigate?" Luna asked perplexed.

"Because there is more to this than on the surface....there has to be...." Celestia said.

"Are you sure it is not just as Edwin said his parents thought? Is it not just...'a miracle'" Luna asked.

"We shall see Luna, we shall see" Celestia said.

Chapter 7: Nightmare Newsflash

Chapter 1: Nightmare's Return

Author's Note

I will have you know it was difficult to write this bit and Chapter 2 because yes I made sure the dialogue was word for word so to make this seamlessly blend with the original episode.

Chapter 1: Nightmare's Return

It has just happened, Nightmare Moon had returned as she said she would 1000 years prior, although something was different with Nightmare Moon, she looked different; she looked slightly different from the Nightmare Moon you would know....yes she was black as night, tall and fierce, piercing turquoise cat-like eyes, and translucent mane & tail....but one thing was off about the dark Alicorn mare...something very noticeable....a large rounded belly....why is this? No way she could have a reason to look this way, but she had a reason...a reason perhaps out of character for her....by means of a spell...out of some part of Luna's goodness...she did something...became something....Nightmare Moon to deal with the loneliness of being on the moon to keep her sane and accompanied...cast a spell to end that loneliness...what did she do?....she made herself....pregnant!!! This was a shock to Princess Celestia, Luna's older sister, she even made it clear she was aware of her transformed sibling's expectancy.

"Luna....what-....what happened to you?" Celestia asked looking startled at the sight before her.

"What do you mean? Also I am not Luna...but Nightmare Moon!!" Nightmare Moon snapped.

"But you're pregnant?....How??...." Celestia asked.

"We were lonely on the moon...we wanted company better than the creatures that live there....somepony more....like me...or this case...of me!" Nightmare snarled, "So I caste a spell on myself to do so...since there are no stallions let alone ponies on the moon is there?" she added bluntly.

"Yes but...but..." Celestia stammered.

"But nothing!!" Nightmare roared, "I have returned and I intend to destroy you and have Equestria all to myself!" she added.

"While I'm at it...I shall then have my heir...and together we shall rule with an iron hoof, so that nopony, will be able to challenge me ever again!!" Nightmare declared.

"Not if I stop you...or my little ponies do!" Celestia said stamping her hoof to emphasize her point.

"You and your "precious" ponies can try Celestia!!" Nightmare exclaimed, she soon turned into her cloud form and attacked, but Celestia evaded...one to not hurt her sister, two to not harm Luna's unborn child; she was in a bind....and unsure what to do next! She evaded every attack but because Celestia was holding back, she at the same time was hoping to defeat her and save the child at the same time, but Luna's fury was too great for this and she made her retreat.

"You can run! But you can't hide Celestia!!" Nightmare roared.

"I am not just hiding Luna...." Celestia said as she was galloping away often flying as well, Nightmare was furious, she wanted to capture Celestia and take over Equestria, but this will have to wait...she had other pests to squash, she had a purple unicorn who knew her to stop...and take out anypony else that stands in her way...she knew that if The Elements of Harmony were found, all her plans will be ruined! So she took off in seeking the purple unicorn to see if she knew about the Elements and stop her from finding them.

*Ponyville Library*

Twilight had returned to her library and had a mission and only one mission in mind, to find the Elements of Harmony to stop Nightmare Moon, in her crazed panic she then encountered the mares she met during the day that had their own tasks for the Summer Sun Celebration and she had to oversee their progress, with Rainbow Dash asking if she was a spy because of how she knew something in regards to Nightmare Moon after she appeared back at Ponyville Town Hall, she then....filled them in. As she explained Nightmare Moon was outside, watching from a window and listened in shortly after Twilight says the following.

"There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are known, 'Kindness', 'Laughter', 'Generosity', 'Honesty', and 'Loyalty'" Twilight rattled off. Nightmare comes here and listens while Twilight reads where the last location of the Elements were.

"The sixth, is a complete mystery, it is said that 'The last known location of the five Elements, was in the ancient castle of 'the Royal Pony Sisters'" Twilight said; as she said those words, Nightmare knew where she needed to be, to stop the ponies from finding the power that could destroy her and ruin her plans!

Nightmare went ahead, but for some reason felt, that she had to wait until the six ponies arrived, so to perhaps make the journey to the ruins one that would make the fillies to take to their hooves and run away, rather than continue.

*Everfree Forest*

Twilight and the others soon arrive and once in the forest, Nightmare commenced in her plan to foil the six mares progress at any opportunity, her first attempt failed as it did not frighten the mares into turning back, despite nearly falling to their deaths, her second plan was to turn a resident creature on them to deter them, but failed again and the six passed unharmed while the butter pegasus tames the beast by soothing and then was thanked by it after Nightmare upset the creature by turning into a thorn in its paw in which the pegasus removed it(her).

The six march on...this is getting ridiculous! Nightmare thought...she had to stop them...but she failed twice! She tried something else now...if real dangers would not send the mares away in fear, then she shall use the concept of fear itself to frighten them, by changing some trees into horrifying creatures! But it failed again!! The six, thanks to the pink earth pony saw through the illusion and now where even further along!! Then the mares reach a river, but the river was fierce, reason?: A serpent that lived there was in distress over have half his mustache sliced from his face, caused again by Nightmare Moon...but once again problem was solved and now the ponies were practically at the castle's doorstep!

***Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters (Old Equestrian National Capital)***

Twilight and the others were here at last! This was a disaster! On top of this....Nightmare's patience had run out and she had an additional problem....she was feeling in advance due to her Alicorn powers...LABOR!!! She knew this was planned, she planned to have a foal of her own for her own purposes...but now the time to give birth was fast approaching!!

"NO! Not now!!" Nightmare said in a panic and wincing from the warning pre-labor pain....if her timing was correct, she would be in labor's full effect in less than 7 minutes!! She needed to act and act...fast, then...she had an idea! She realized that she was using the wrong approach to the situation, seeing as the others have inadvertently found their Elements she could perhaps tempt them with their desires, she had to make that bet, since she failed to stop the others...she knew that if she failed to stop them they would eventually find the sixth element and it was all over...seeing that each have overcome each of her obstacles, there was two that had yet to overcome an obstacle, the sky-blue pegasus and the lavender unicorn, she knew that because of her dream walking capabilities she either had before or after her transformation into Nightmare Moon could see she knew their desires are, she just had to eliminate at least one of them, for if she eliminates one of them the Elements will be powerless, she needed to remove Rainbow Dash, she needed to take one of the five known remaining.....Loyalty. Twilight will be easy, for without one of the five known Elements the sixth one cannot be found and the ponies' journey would be all for naught.

Since the bridge was out that would mean one of the two pegasi would have to cross, Rainbow volunteered which was the pony she needed! Nightmare then began her plan to cripple the Elements once and for all.

"Rainbow~" Nighmare siren-ed.

"Who's there!?" Rainbow called out in surprise.

"Rainbow~" Nighmare siren-ed again.

"I ain't scared of you! Show yourself!" Rainbow barked in reply as she made a fighting stance; as she looked around, a fog appeared and then Nightmare spoke to Rainbow while hidden in the cloud of fog.

"We've been eagerly waiting the arrival of the best flyer in Equestria" Nightmare cooed to lure Rainbow.

"Who?" Rainbow asked perplexed into the fog.

"Why...you of course!" Nightmare said flatteringly.

"Really? I mean...oh yeah! Me..." Rainbow said pridefully, "Hey! Uh...You wouldn't mind telling the Wonderbolts that would Ya?" she asked in addition.

"'Cause, I've been tryin' to get into that group for like ever!" Rainbow rambled.

"No Rainbow Dash...we want you to join us! The Shadowbolts!" Nightmare said appearing from the fog as three pegasi, a white mare with blue mane & tail with two stallions of very-light gray but same color mane & tail.

They were in tight body-hugging black & purple jumpsuits with gold lightning-bolts on the collar and edges of the purple sleeve on the front and hind leggings with black forelegs on all four leg and covering most their head from the collars, on their rumps were a Cutie Mark of a white pony skull with white wings on the back of the skull.

Rainbow recoiled in confusion yet listened and watched with interest, as she looked at the trio sitting before her.

"We're the greatest aerial team in the Everfree Forest, and soon we will be the greatest in all Equestria" Nightmare boasted.

"But first...we need a Captain" Nightmare in pegasus mare form said flying up to and passed Rainbow causing her to show excitement at the statement with her eyes wide and a large grin, "The most magnificent...." Nightmare mare pegasus complimented making passes by and around Rainbow.

"Yep" Rainbow said in agreement with the compliment.

"Bravest flyer in all the land" Nightmare continued.

"Yes, it's all true" Rainbow said giggling slightly, her ego boosted by the words Nightmare uttered.

"We need...." Nightmare said pausing for effect, "you" Nightmare whispered in Rainbow's right ear after hovering around Rainbow to then float beside her, Rainbow shot straight up then cheered out in excitement then said.

"Sign me up!" she requested happily.

"Just let me tie this bridge real quick and then we have a deal" Rainbow said back at the rope for the bridge; she was about to take the rope in her teeth when Nightmare shot down from the air into her face and said.

"NO! It's them or us!" she stated.

Rainbow recoiled in surprise at the harshness and the strict nature of the demands of the Shadowbolt mare, her attention on the three pegasi was cut short by Twilight's voice from the other side of the semi-secured bridge.

"Rainbow! What's taking so long?" Twilight asked shouting across, she then saw why and was then afraid as she saw three pegasi sitting in front of the prismatic mane and tailed mare, "Oh no" she said to herself, "Rainbow!!" she called out.

Seeing the possibility of her ploy failing Nightmare then controlled the fog and blocked the other five mares out including the sound of their voices, but before the fog blocked them out Twilight managed to shout audibly "Don't listen to them!".

"Well?" Nightmare pegasus mare asked.

"You" Rainbow said, Nightmare pegasus mare smiled jubilantly with wings flared in celebration! But this was not to last and she found out the truth to the reply from Rainbow, "Thank you, for the offer I mean" Rainbow said shooting off to secure the bridge's rope that fell loose while the three pegasi stared in shock.

"But" Rainbow said taking to the air and now airborne said "I'm afraid I have to say 'no'" Rainbow said flying off to her friends waiting on the other side of fog and bridge, Nightmare had failed...in her fury she transformed into her cloud form and headed to the castle.

Rainbow returned to her friends with a cheering welcome as Rainbow posed at the entrance of the repaired bridge. The six mares were now inside the Keep, and standing before a statue of five stone orbs on platforms branching out from a column which in turn had a large orb on it as well, soon the ponies took the orbs off their platforms and placed them before Twilight, but only five of the orbs looked like the Elements...one was missing...

"Where's the sixth?" Rainbow asked.

"The book said, 'When the five are present, a 'spark' will cause the sixth Element to be revealed'" Twilight said.

"What in the hay is that supposed to mean?" Applejack asked.

"I'm not sure, but I have an idea..." Twilight said now focusing on the stone orbs, "Stand back, I don't know what will happen" Twilight ordered now using her magic to see if there will be a response.

The five mares left to give Twilight space to focus, while the six where approaching the ruins earlier...the stress of trying to stop the ponies had an unfortunate effect on Nightmare Moon...coupled with her other efforts of physical work had done something she was not too happy about....it sped up her labor! Now Nightmare was in trouble....she now was ready to give birth! In pain she tried to move...she succeeded! As soon as she took cloud form she went off to make one last try to stop the ponies from finding the Elements. Twilight was in the middle of using magic to affect the stones, when Nightmare stepped in and began to swirl them around in her painful attempt to take them, she soon managed to teleport away...but took Twilight with her! Now Nightmare will be giving birth and trying to take the Elements of Harmony in the presence of Twilight herself, the mare that could destroy her and ruin her plans!

Twilight groaned as she became stable after the teleportation, she then saw Nightmare Moon! But something was off...she was not as fierce as before...though she tried to keep the Elements away she was in great pain, Nightmare tried to look fierce but her labor pain was too great....and yet Nightmare tried her best to keep herself intimidating, Twilight was now perplexed, but suspicious of the in pain dark mare, Twilight then asked what was going on, she got her answer.

"YOU, have failed!" Nightmare said wincing at the same time.

"How so?" Twilight asked.

"I have the Elements....on top of this I will now bare my child!" Nightmare proclaimed now hurting from labor, "You're too late! I have won!" Nightmare shouted, only to scream in pain as labor finally hit in all its fury.

Twilight watched in horrified fascination as Nightmare started to give birth, Nightmare's face twisted and warped in agony as she muscled to push the foal inside her out, Twilight then decided that despite the heart tugging sight she had to make a move, so she galloped over to nab the Elements from the preoccupied Nightmare Moon; as she made her way Nightmare saw Twilight coming and lowered her horn to deter her...but Twilight teleported around her and then took the Elements in her magic grasp and tried to cause a reaction from them....only to be sent flying back from a magic jolt back to where she stood before.

Nightmare began to panic even in her labor pains, she watched as the Elements began to react from the magic caste on them by Twilight.

"No! No!" Nightmare shrieked as she winced again to continue giving birth, but as soon as the charged they ceased and soon where back to being "lifeless" stone orbs again.

Twilight then gasped and asked "But, where's the sixth Element?" her reply was a cackling Nightmare Moon using her magic to smash the stone balls and saying.

"You little foal! Thinking you could defeat me?!" Nightmare gloated.

"Now you'll never see your princess, or your sun! The Night will last forever!!!" Nightmare declared as she let out a short laugh then a last cry of pain and in her dark magic finally gave birth! As she regained her energy she lightly cackled as the dark magic surround her and the crying foal she had birthed, as she worked to calm and care for her foal she said to it.

"My dear sweet heir, now you and I are safe, safe to conquer Equestria; with you by my side, you and I will make Equestria into a land of our liking..." But as she gloated and nurtured her new foal, Twilight's new friends were heard coming but Twilight heard them and Nightmare did not, and as they approached Twilight suddenly had a realization!

"You think you can destroy the Elements of Harmony just like that?" Twilight asked with a triumphant smile, "Well you're wrong!" Twilight added, "Because the spirits of the Elements of Harmony are right here!" Twilight finished victoriously.

Twilight then revealed one by one each mare and the Element each where assigned, as she did the shards of the stone orbs floated over and then around the waists of each respective mare.

"What?" Nightmare said as the shards floated up and over to Applejack first.

One by one each mare had their Element, all but one..."You still don't have the sixth Element! The spark didn't work!" Nightmare said in confusion.

Twilight then revealed how the sixth can be found and how it was found, then instantly the shards formed into necklaces around Twilight's friends, after that a crown appeared! Soon the magic from the Elements charged and then....whoosh! The power from them shot up then down...on NIGHTMARE!! She cried out in her defeat, as her foal then cried from the intense action going on around it, soon the magic died and all was still except for a squealing foal now lying where it was....upon gaining consciousness Twilight then heard the crying foal and galloped to comfort it...

"Twilight wait!" Applejack shouted.

"Why?" Twilight asked stopping midway.

"You don't know if that foal is evil or not! Or if Nightmare Moon is beaten" Applejack protested.

"But we cannot let it suffer..." Fluttershy said.

"Yeah! It is just a foal..." Pinkie stated to agree.

"Just be careful!" Applejack said.

Twilight then approached the little foal...but when she saw it she gasped....it was a filly! A white filly...and...an alicorn?....An alicorn with light blue mane and tail, next to her was Nightmare Moon...only...she was different, she was lighter purplish blue and her mane and tail were a baby-boy blue, Twilight then approached the little newborn and cooed at her to comfort it, it calmed down when Twilight lifted and held the baby alicorn, the others saw it from a distance and could not help but fawn over it...

"Well I'll be...." Applejack said now smiling.

"It is beautiful!" Rarity said.

"It's...so...freaking...cute!!" Pinkie squeaked.

"It looks incredible..." Fluttershy said walking over to Twilight.

"I know...she seems to look like a diamond" Twilight said looking down at the foal in her grasp.

"She is a jewel alright" Rarity said moving in to look.

"Hey! That sounds like a name!" Pinkie said excitedly.

"That's what we'll call her...'Diamond Jewel'" Twilight said looking at the now curious filly with a tender expression.

Chapter 8: Most wonderful of nights

Nightmare Night was a controversial holiday at one point for Luna when she heard of it upon her return, since then it now has become a day Luna looks to like her birthday; in a way it was like a second birthday, it was a day remembered as the night Nightmare Moon was born, not anymore. Nightmare Night became the birth of a new beginning in Luna's relationship with her subjects, and more intimately her daughter Diamond Jewel; now Luna will have a brighter reason to enjoy this year's Nightmare Night, because it would be her daughter's first Nightmare Night she would take part in.

Jewel was bouncing she was so excited, her mother was giggling as she tried to get her eager daughter to hold still long enough to finish helping Jewel into her costume, Jewel was dressed up in admittedly appropriately a Nightmare Moon costume; Jewel chose this costume because she learned that Luna used magic to turn herself into Nightmare Moon and wanted to be like her. Luna although was still Luna even though she was physically her former ego, speaking of Luna herself she while helping Jewel, was already in her Nightmare Moon form readying to head to Ponyville to take part directly in the town's celebration of the holiday as she had done when the holiday was revised there.

"Hold still Jewel, I know you're excited but I cannot finish your costume if you do not hold still" Luna said smiling as Jewel had herself an ear-to-ear grin.

"I can't mommy, I am too excited!" Jewel said beaming and giggling.

"I know Jewel...just hold still...I am almost done" 'Nightmare' Luna said.

"Aaand~...Done!" Luna said grinning.

"How do I look?" Jewel asked wide eyed and joyful.

"Let's go see in the mirror" Luna said walking her over, upon Jewel looking in the mirror Jewel examined herself checking all details; upon finishing her look-over she gave a frown.

"What's wrong Jewel?" Luna asked looking concerned.

"I don't look like you..." Jewel said looking disappointed.

"I see why Jewel...it's okay Jewel...I have something to help you..." Luna said; Luna then charged her horn and touched Jewel on her back, upon contact Jewel watched as her fur turned pitch-black, her eyes shift, and mane and tail become wavy; when Luna was finished Jewel gasped as she then saw...a mini version of her mother before her.

"Wow!....." Jewel gasped looking at her eyes and fur, she then smiled as she looked at herself again and was now satisfied at her appearance.

"There you go sweetie...." Luna said smiling, however she remember the slight resistance she put up on Jewel choosing Nightmare Moon as her costume, reason being of course.....because she was born, when Luna was Nightmare Moon for real...and from what she remembered....she looked, exactly like her....but that was the past and before her a brighter future.

"Yay!!" Jewel shouted with joy as she then bounced around giddily.

"Somepony sounds excited!" a voice spoke up.

"Aunt Tia!" Jewel called out galloping to Celestia.

"Hello Jewel! My goodness there are two Nightmare Moons!" Celestia said dramatically.

"Really? Do I look like her? I should look like her..." Jewel said.

"You look like her...but you are cuter" Celestia said smiling in a 'D'aw' expression.

"True sister, she looks adorable does she?" Luna said moving toward Celestia.

"She does...you look perfect as well Luna"

"I should...I have done this multiple times, foals love it" Luna said.

"Aunt Tia? Why do you not have a costume?" Jewel asked looking perplexed.

"I would love to take part but I always have things to do..." Celestia said with a sorry expression.

"I'll get some candy for you..." Jewel offered.

"Aw thank you Jewel" Celestia said hugging her tightly.

"Welcome Aunt Tia" Jewel said kissing Celestia on the cheek.

"Have fun sweetheart" Celestia said smiling warmly.

"I will!" Jewel said walking to Luna.

"Have a great evening too Luna"

"I think this will be a most wonderful of nights" Luna said wrapping her left front leg around Jewel.

"I have no doubts" Celestia said smiling moving to hug her sister.

"See you in a few hours" Luna said.

"Safe journey" Celestia said.

Soon Luna and Jewel left and were heading to Ponyville, Luna and Jewel took Luna's chariot like she did before and shortly were in Ponyville after a dramatic entry.

On the way Jewel and Luna again had a small talk before arrival.

"This is a special night Jewel, you still excited?" Luna asked.

"I am a little scared..." Jewel said.

"Why is that honey?" she asked hugging Jewel, "You nervous?" she asked in addition.

"A little....is it very scary?" Jewel said.

"Not that much...only a little, but that is for older and bigger ponies" Luna said comfortingly.

"Really?"

"Yes Jewel, but I have something special for you"

"What is it?" Jewel asked looking curious.

"Want to help mom?"

"Really?!" Jewel asked eyes twinkling with excitement like back in Canterlot.

"Yes Jewel, because you are dressed like me, you can be my helper" Luna said.

"Thanks mommy!" Jewel said snuggling.

"Of course dear" Luna said smiling warmly, "Before we start we are going to see Twilight first okay?"

"Okay mommy, I missed Twilight" Jewel said.

"I am sure Twilight would love to see you too"

Soon the two finally arrived and then headed to see Twilight as Luna said she and Jewel would.

"It seems ponies like your costume Jewel" Luna said.

"They did, did they?" Jewel said beaming.

"I think Twilight will like it too"

"I hope so" Jewel said following her mom closely.

Jewel and Luna eventually found Twilight and she was speaking with Pinkie of whom was apparently like a blast from the past wearing her chicken costume.

"Twilight!" Luna called out.

"Luna!" Twilight said going over to greet her and hug her.

"How are you?"

"I am well Twilight" Luna said smiling, it was then Twilight noticed and d'awed when she saw Jewel.

"Hi Jewel! You look great, and cute!" Twilight said bending down to hug Jewel.

"Aw...I want be scary~" Jewel said.

"Oh sorry Jewel...you do look scary, but there is nothing wrong with cute"

"Yeah! There is nothing wrong with being cute, I mean come on! What's wrong with cute?" Pinkie said walking up.

"Very true Pinkie..." Luna said.

"Hi Pinkie" Jewel said.

"Hey there!~" Pinkie said bending down to nuzzle Jewel, "You look great! You look like a mini-Nightmare Moon; or is it a 'mini-Moon'?" Pinkie said in addition, Jewel giggled at Pinkie and Pinkie's costume.

"Ready to enjoy Nightmare Night?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah! I get to help mommy" Jewel said.

"Oh? How?" Twilight asked.

"I get to be mommy's helper because I look like her"

"That sounds fun! Did Luna tell you what she does?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah she did, back home she told me that she gets some candy from other ponies" Jewel said.

"That's right Jewel, the reason we do this is different from what it was before...now we do it to thank Luna and give her love for being our Princess of the Night" Twilight explained.

"That's nice of ponies" Jewel said smiling brightly.

"I know...it is something special so she can enjoy this night too" Pinkie said kindly.

"Nice...so...where are we going?" Jewel asked.

"Follow me Jewel" Luna said.

"Okay mommy" Jewel said trailing behind Luna; Jewel and Luna then went off to do what Luna did on Nightmare Night, all the while Jewel was having the time of her life smiling all the way.

"So Jewel....go over to those foals over there...remember what I taught you" Luna said.

"Okay mommy, I remember..." Jewel said sneaking over; upon Jewel reaching the foals she acted as scary as she could and said, "I see you have some candy, care to share it?" Jewel said menacingly.

"Wh-Who are y-y-you?" one foal, a pegasus colt asked.

"I am Nightmare Jewel! Daughter of Nightmare Moon!" Jewel said cutely yet at the same time powerfully.

"R-R-Really?..." another foal, a unicorn filly said shakily.

"Yes! And I demand that you give a part of your candy for me and my mother!" Jewel said; out of sight Luna giggled yet felt a glowing pride in seeing Jewel doing so well playing her part.

"That's my girl!" Luna chirped to herself.

"Okay! Okay!...Here!" the foals said taking portions of their candy an placing it in a bag Jewel had out.

Luna knew Jewel would do well, but to perhaps add to the foals experience and make sure Jewel did not over do it, Luna made her own entrance.

"Well done! My foal....my precious daughter!~" Luna cooed dramatically as she slowly walked over.

"Thank you, mother" Jewel said keeping her act up complete with a light bow.

"You were wise to give her your candy little ones~ If you decided you didn't want to....you would have to answer...to me!!" Luna finished with a dramatic echoing growl.

The foals shrieked as they ran in fear, Jewel when she saw them leave looked at her mother with an unsure expression.

"It's okay Jewel, that is part of it; foals want to be scared, but not too much got it?" Luna informed.

"I got it mommy" Jewel said brightening up then moving to her mother, "I did good right?"

"Yes my Jewel, you did wonderfully" Luna said snuggling and nuzzling her.

"This is fun!" Jewel said joyfully.

"I am happy you are having fun sweetheart; now I think that is all for now, there are more things to do I want to show you" Luna said.

Jewel simply squee'd with joy before following her mom back into town, once in town they then took part in the different activities Ponyville had to offer, 'Bobbing for Apples', 'Spider Toss', 'Pumpkin Catapult'; 'Spider Toss' was Luna's favorite game of the former mentioned.

"How are you doing Jewel?" Luna asked.

"I am-....*yawn*...okay mommy..." Jewel said looking tuckered out.

"Are you sure?~" Luna asked though she knew better.

"Yeah I'm not sleepy" Jewel protested a little stronger but was slowing down.

"Okay...then there is one more thing to do" Luna said.

"What is it?"

"Something I do with Twilight and her friends, it is....well I am not sure spooky stories is good for fillies or colts your age" Luna said.

"Aw!~....." Jewel said looking disappointed.

"You can join in the stories when you're older okay honey?" Luna said sweetly.

"MmmOkay...." Jewel relented

"Good; however while I have time with Twilight and her friends you can nap a little before we head home and enjoy our candy" Luna suggested.

"Okay" Jewel agreed again but instead of walking she decided to hop on her mother's back, of which Luna helped and Jewel then rested on Luna's back as they headed to Twilight's castle.

The two then arrived but Jewel was out like a light when Twilight answered the door.

"Hey there Luna!" Twilight said cheerfully.

"Hush Twilight! Jewel is sleeping" Luna whispered.

"Oh sorry...I have a place she can rest" Twilight offered.

"Thank you Twilight"

"Of course..."

Twilight then escorted the two in and soon Jewel was placed on a soft spot to sleep away from the group as they told their stories.

Jewel slept soundly until she felt a cold breeze of which she learned she was in the chariot on her home.

"M-Mommy?" Jewel said waking a little.

"Yes Jewel?" Luna said wrapping her wing around her.

"Do I have to go to bed?"

"I think you should....don't worry Jewel...we can enjoy our candy tomorrow" Luna said soothingly.

"Okay..." Jewel said sleepily before snuggling in her mother's wing; Luna simply smiled as the two made the rest of the trip in silence.

The two returned to the castle with Jewel resting peacefully under her mother's wing in Luna's magic grip, Luna wasted no time in making her way to Jewel's room and soon placed Jewel in her bed after removing the magic she used to add to Jewel's costume; as Luna tucked Jewel in she took a moment to look at her sleeping daughter before kissing her and bidding goodnight and wishes for deep and happy slumber before leaving for her own room.

To say Luna was happy would be underplaying it by a mile, Luna was beyond happy, she was as blissful as Celestia was after her first day reunited with her sister but in her own way and fashion as she smiled brightly as she headed to her room; Luna had long since changed back to her normal self 'banishing' her alter-ego for another year and also placed her candy along with Jewel's to be eaten tomorrow, now she thought, for some sleep herself.

She soon entered her room and slipped into her sheets and upon letting her body relax she sighed, "A most wonderful of nights".
