//-------------------------------------------------------// The Eyes of An Angel -by Mystic Solaris Knight- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Eyes of An Angel //-------------------------------------------------------// The Eyes of An Angel It was a fine day in Ponyville. Most of the ponies were chatting, talking, and laughing; but for me, I was simply drawing nearby the lake. The lake is my favorite place to draw. The gleaming waters seemed to be smiling at me. My apologies! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Solaris Knight of Prance. I am a prince, if you hadn't noticed. I have many titles, but I choose not to tell them all. Now where was I? Oh yes! Art is my favorite hobby of all. I draw and paint on canvases and papers. I take any orders that would involve art. I thought today would be any regular day, but I was wrong. Today, I met an interesting pony. At first, she noticed my drawing and complimented, "That is a very nice drawing, sir." Surprised, I looked up to her and smiled, "Why, thank you, madame. Are you new to this town?" She nodded, "Yes. I was wondering if you could show me where the Town Hall is." "It's just straight ahead," I said kindly. "It's the only tallest building in town." "Oh, thank you!" She smiled. "My name is Sakura Love Light." "Solaris Knight," I shook her hoof politely, smiling. "Are you moving in Ponyville?" She nodded, "Yes, I heard it was a wonderful place to go!" "You should try stopping by Sweet Apple Acres," I smiled wider. "The best place to buy some apples." "Oh, I've heard of that!" She agreed. "I will go there." "The library here was burned down, but you can visit the castle," I informed. "Really? The princess doesn't mind?" She asked bewildered. "Yup," I said with a laugh, "but don't address Twilight as 'Princess' or 'Your Highness' or any formal names. She doesn't like it." She smiled, her eyes shining, "Thank you for the information, sir." "Solaris will do just fine," I gave her a nice smile. Then, she squinted at the newspaper in confusion. "Is there a problem?" "Huh? Oh no," she shook her head.  "I'm sorry, but I can't read very well." I gave a smile to her, "You don't have to be sorry. This newspaper need more improvisation." "What do you mean?" She blinked. "I mean, this newspaper have big words mashed together. I don't think this is even a sentence!" I laughed before I smiled at her again, "You have Dyslexia?" To my surprise, she shook her head again, "No, I have a writing and reading disability. I still can write with Dragon Natural Speaking." I tilted my head in confusion. Dragon Natural Speaking...where have I heard of that? A lightbulb went over my head as I said, "You mean the pony who can help other ponies to write?" "Yes! That's his name, right?" She asked. "Um, probably his nickname," I scratched my head, "but his real name is Neat Speech. Fine lad, he is." I noticed time passed us by, and since Sakura needs to go to the Town Hall, I informed her, "Don't you need to go to the Town Hall by now?" She gasped, "Oh, you're right! I've got to go! Thank you for the chat!" And with that, she galloped away, leaving me very amused. She is one interesting pony, alright. I picked up my sketches and trotted home, my mind still full of thoughts. A pony who had writing and reading disability is determined to write and read. That's just simply remarkable! I dropped all my sketches on my desk. I hadn't even noticed I was in my room! I put a hoof to my chin, thinking for a bit. I peered at my sketches, coloring pencils, and pink notebook. Wait, I don't have a pink notebook. I groaned. Did Pearl forget her notebook again? Of course, she would be terrible at the subject grammar so I decided to read it just in case if she was wrong. I opened the book and read, "Twilight's little princess problem." I raised an eyebrow as I continued reading. Pearl doesn't like her story to be corrected so I left it the way it is. It was fine, I'd give a seven out of ten; but when I saw the name Sakura at the botton of the last page, I gasped. "Sakura!" I facehoofed myself. She was the one who wrote it! How could I not know? I grabbed my saddlebag, placed the notebook inside, and galloped out. "I hope I'm not too late!" I didn't have the time to say hello to Rainbow Dash who was hovering up there. "Hey, buddy! Where you off to?" Rainbow Dash yelled. "No time to talk!" I said, galloping through the streets. "Um, you have wings remember?" She rolled her eyes. I halted. She was right! I have wings! I can fly as fast as Rainbow Dash! So with that, I spread out my wings and zoomed past her. It feels so good to be back with my wings. Back to the story! Eventually, I made it to the Town Hall with a blink of an eye. "Mayor!" I panted, getting in."Is Miss Sakura Love Light here?" "Oh, I'm sorry, but you just missed her!" She shook her head. "Oh, thanks!" I said before rushing out. Wait, 'thanks'? What an terrible way to say thank you! Resuming the story! Luckily, I found her buying cherries from the markets. "But you said three cherries cost five bits!" Sakura protested to the huge stallion. I sighed. Why is he still in the business? I thought he was in prison for a while. Oh, wait a minute, it has been a while... "Nope! It changed to ten bits!" He smirked. I fell from the sky and landed between them. "Solaris?!" They both shouted. I smiled as I folded my wings and leaned closer to the stallion. "Please! Don't use the Royal Canterlot Voice on me!" He ducked for cover. I smirked. It was true, I can do Royal Canterlot Voice, but I don't feel like yelling at him. "Apparently, you're stealing the bits again?" I tried not to groan. I leaned closer to him, "Miss Jubiliee wouldn't like it very much." His eyes widened, "You know the boss?" I snorted. Is this guy dumb or what? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have wrote that. "I met her two months ago at the Dodge Junction! She wouldn't like your rotten business." He gulped, "Please don't tell this to her!" "I would try," I resisted the eye roll. "Now give this mare three bits for three cherries or it is the Royal Canterlot." He gave the three cherries quickly as Sakura gave away her three bits. Sakura smiled as we walked out of the stand, "Thank you for helping me out." I reflected the smile, "This is not the first time I lure ponies out of that. I doubt that Fizzy could still obey the rules!" "Really! What you did was great!" She happily smiled. "It's not a problem," I smiled tenderly. I took out her notebook, "I've been searching for you to give you this." "My notebook!" She exclaimed, taking it and hugging it close to her. "Thank you!" "It's not a problem," I chuckled. "Your story is very good!" She blushed, "You read that?" I nodded, "But why is it about Twilight Sparkle? Is it real?" She shook her head, "It's something I wrote called 'Fanficton'." "Fanfiction," I mused, "Something you wrote about what you like?" She nodded. "Interesting," I muttered, "How would you like to tell me about it?" Eventually, the nightfall took over and we decided to head to our homes. It was a long journey.
