The New Kid on the Block
Preface
“Mommy, will I ever get to make amazing friends? Ones that will have fun and play with me?” I asked my mother curiously. “I want someone to play with on the weekends.”
My mom didn’t know how to reply. I bet she wanted to tell me everything will be alright but she didn’t want to lie to my face. I have been known to be a wimp, a crybaby, and worst of all, a loser by my grade. My life sucks majorly. Why am I complaining about my life when I guess I should be introducing myself. My name is Michael Short. I am currently 10 years old and am starting my 5th grade year. I am 4’6” and 60 pounds, have a brown, slightly wavy hair pattern that goes down to my ears, and my skin was a slight tan. Let’s just say I haven’t tried out nor do I plan to try out for the football team. Those kids are the bullies anyways. That’s right I said it, I am bullied and it has taken hold of every classmate of mine. I am tiny to them, ugly to them, even once called fat by them. I don’t know what to do.
I know I might sound like I am childish but I can assure you, I am. My life has been pretty spoiled involving money however my parents being present for me isn’t common. They both work high up in the corporate world and they are away from home a lot of the time. My mom knows about the bullies but the parents of those kids support their kid saying he did nothing wrong. I wanted so badly to cry about that would mean I could be made fun of more. I hated hated hated my life!
“Honey,” my mom calmly replied, “you just have to keep trying to make friends. They’ll come around eventually.”
“Thanks mom. I will try my best.” And with that I put on my best smile and went to school. My school, Canterlot Grade School, was known as one of the chain schools leading up to Canterlot High. The school borders the high school and both are walking distance away from my school. I begged my mom to stop driving me to school because one can only be called ‘Momma’s boy’ about 100 times. I really hate school, has the theme caught on yet. Anywhere where the three bullies touch is a place earning the hate. Their names were Hoops, Dumb-Bell, and Score. They are the rising athletes of the school and have a huge ego to match. Hoops is a darker tan boy than I am and has a dirty blonde hair color that covers his eyes. Dumb-Bell has a dark brown skin color with a dirty white hair color that rises higher than it should naturally. Score has a navy blue skin color and black hair covering his eyes. Speak of the devil, there they are now, waiting on the steps for me. I turned away and made sure that I was out of site from them and entered in the side door. I barely made it in after a sneeze by me without them knowing, or so I thought.
About the end of fourth period, I met them again and they made sure to give me a few shoves and punches to remind them to fish over my lunch money quicker. I hated them so much that I did what every other 10 year old would do when he didn’t have a lunch, I ran home. I didn’t care if they followed. I didn’t care to listen to the laughs of the other classmates of mine. I just wanted to go home. A boy the age and size of me can’t handle this any longer.
I arrived home about an hour before my parents were to stop in to say hi and then go back to work. What I wasn’t expecting was for the phone to ring with the caller id being my aunt. I answered the phone, listened for twenty seconds, and then dropped the phone and started crying. I cried and cried for who knows how long and I had a great reason to. My parents, after moving their office to the fifteenth floor, got trapped from a tenth floor electric fire that took hold and spread too quickly. The floors underneath were able to get out however the floors above were too high up to survive. Firefighters were too late in putting out the fire. My parents were caught in the building to escape in time. I am currently evaluating my life. I have an aunt and uncle who are going to take care of me forcing me to move, I have a horrible school and no friends whatsoever, and I also have no parents alive at all. I Hate My Life!
All I ever wanted to do was to make friends and now my number one and two supporter aren't with me anymore.
I was then recalled by my aunt again and asked if I wanted to stay in my house or theirs. I chose theirs in order to be nice and not make them move away from their own home. It was decided in the next year that my stuff would be moved and the will be cashed by my parents leaving me with everything they owned. I know I am moving quickly, but I want to get to the happy part soon. I lived with my aunt and uncle for three years until they decided they wanted a bigger house to support me better and get closer to the school I will be starting at the end of the summer, Canterlot High. I am so excited to start a new chapter of my life and hopefully make amazing friends. I also can't wait to see the neighborhood I will be living in. My aunt and uncle are doing whatever they can to be as close to my parents as they can be. I aunt was diagnosed as sterile so I am their only child.
It was decided by the three of us to move to a house opening on Friendship Circle about two or three blocks away from the school by the next week. Hopefully I will meet someone or some people there who will want to be my friend.
The New Kid on the Block
Chapter one
“Michael, will you help with the vacuum? I need the house swept.” My aunt requested in her sweet little voice.
“Sure, I can do it. Closet next to the basement?” I replied asking where the sweeper was.
“Yes, it is there.”
We finally moved into the new house and I have to say it is pretty nice. The house is Medieval style with a second floor and a basement along with an attic. The first thing I noticed was there are six other houses in the neighborhood and they are all very colorful. The only thing the same between the houses is they have no fences, the mailboxes are all the same rainbow color, and they are all pretty big. I really hope people from my school don’t see the colors or fag might be a new added insult. I personally have no problems and am quite happy that the government allowed for gay marriage but I don’t want anything else to add on my plate. Since the move about a day ago, we have done a lot to the house to make it like my aunt’s old home. We added a garden in the front of the house to add even more color, my uncle and I filled the fridge and pantry with sweets and fatty foods of all kinds, both of our favorites, and we added a man cave so my aunt can have our alone time while we watch sports. I personally added my gaming pc into my room and my xbox one into the basement. The surround sound only served to add to the gaming experience.
My first encounter with the new neighbors was when a nice family came with an apple pie baked to perfection. The family was a family of four but it wasn’t your standard family. I first noticed the oldest of the four was an age worthy of being my grandmother. While her age was expressed with gray hair and choice of fashion, she didn’t have a cane or a walker. Kudos to her for staying relatively fit for her age.
The next was a boy/young man with impressive build. This dude was huge! He was definitely 21 at least and most likely playing college football on a full ride. He wasn’t much of a talker but he didn’t need to be. If anything, his size and quietness fed bodyguard right to your brain.
The youngest was a girl who looked so cute with her big bow in her hair which seemed comically huge. Another thing I noticed was the pure red hair which looked the same as her brother’s skin color. Her freckles, size, and country accent only added to her cuteness factor, not to mention her roughly ten years of age.
Finally, I get to talk about who I think is the prized jewel of the family. She looked to be a little older than me, maybe a year, and she was fantastic. She had long flowing blonde hair down to her upper back. She obviously was a girl to get down and dirty as she had no fat as the tied up plaid shirt showed off her slight four pack stomach. She had jeans cut to high thighs and a stetson hat to give that hot country girl look. I could barely look my eyes away from her until her grandma pinched my cheeks and gave me weird kissy faces. The pain knocked me out of my stupor and brought me back to reality.
We all sat down at the living room couches and chair and started introducing ourselves.
“Hello, my name is Granny Smith, and these three yungin’s are Big Macintosh, Applejack, and Apple Bloom. We are the Apple family living in the house with the red wood. Welcome to the neighborhood.” The older lady replied, but I was too busy looking at the beauty sitting across from me. Speaking of, I don’t think she has seen me glancing over at her a lot but she may be on to me.
“Hello Granny Smith, my name is Sugar Sweet and this here is my husband Evening Star. This here is our nephew Michael Short. His dad was from out of Equestria so he received a different kind of name.” My aunt said. Now that I think about it, I never described my aunt and uncle. My aunt is about an inch taller than what I am now at 5’5” with a pink skin color and blonde hair tied into a bun. My uncle has a taller stature at 6’2” and has a Light blue skin color and Navy blue hair. He is known for his expert astronomy and she is known as everyone’s grandma. They are wonderful people.
I excused myself to go and get a pop from the basement when I noticed the cans in my upstairs fridge was gone. I then faintly heard the door opening and closing while at the fridge and Applejack almost scared me to death. I didn’t notice it earlier, but she has long and wonderful legs. She was even taller than me with her red cowboy boots on.
“I noticed your looking while we were upstairs. Did you find something you liked? *giggle*?” Applejack snickered out. God she noticed. I really am glad for the poor lighting right now as she might notice my deep blush otherwise.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” Yes, I can probably get by with that.
“Lie!” She pointed out.
“You’re wrong. I am telling the truth.”
I can tell in the tone of your voice. My friends on the block call me the lie detector. I am pretty good at figuring out if someone is lying or not.”
Dang it she got me. Wait, other friends. Maybe I can find out who else lives on the street. “What other non adults live on this street?”
“Avoiding the lie now, alright I will let it pass and answer your question. There are five other girls our age all entering freshman year at Canterlot High. My sister has two other girlfriends and a guy friend going into their first year of Canterlot Middle School. My older brother and another brother are going into junior year at Canterlot High as well. I’ll be happy to introduce you sugarcube tomorrow if you are free.”
Play it cool. Play it cool. She just called you sugarcube and she appears to want to be friends with me. What would a hot and beautiful cowgirl want with a scrawny boy like me? Maybe I will ask her tomorrow, after I make a lot of room in my schedule for this babe. “I think I can squeeze in some time tomorrow. Just come to my door and I will answer.”
“Do you have a phone? I can text you instead so we can meet up.”
My mind just went blank. I am literally receiving a girl’s number. Not just any girl, a hot country girl. I am in heaven right now. “Yeah . . . ugh . . . here it is.” I said while handing her my phone.
“Nice, I will text you tomorrow around midday. We better go back up to the gathering before they think we are doing anything of the mature sorts.”
I don’t want this to end though. “I see what you mean. Let’s go.” It is a good thing I walked up the steps second because I was awarded with a nice picture of my new friend’s butt, and might I add, was a wonderful thing. Good thing she isn’t and will never notice this wonderful time right now.
When we arrived at the top, we noticed the Apples were leaving and they were getting ready to head out and call for Applejack. I said my goodbyes and went to bed after receiving a stern glare from Applejack’s brother. My only thought during my wonderful dream was, that ass though.
