Chapters Dues Ex Machina
Twilight and her friends met in the clearing outside of Ponyville. They gathered there for the specific purpose of trying out Twilight's new spell. She had been working on it for the year and a half after she first used the mirror portal.
"Alright Girls!" Twilight paced in front of her friends. "I've done all tests and trials I can now it's time for the real thing!" The gathered ponies stomped their hooves in applause except for Rainbow Dash who raised her hoof. "Yes Rainbow what is it?"
"Um... yeah what exactly are we doing?"
Twilight sighed "Didn't you read the letter Rainbow? On how i'm trying to create a stable spell to travel to and from alternate dimensions?" Rainbow shook her head. "The spell i've been working my flank off for more than a year to get right?" Another head shake. Twilight glanced around at the group. "Did anypony read it?" The group responded with various forms of no. Twilight slumped to her stomach with a groan and placed her hooves on her muzzle.
"Hey the thing was like twenty pages long."
"IT WAS FIVE!!!" Twilight argued.
"Well to be frank darling five pages is a tad much a letter." Rarity defended. Twilight got up with a sigh and began with a little bite in her voice.
"Fine, Ok you remember when I went to the mirror world correct?" The group nodded "And the journal i use to contact Sunset shimmer right?" Another nod. "Well I got to thinking maybe we can go to more dimensions and worlds if I reversed engineered the spell. So exactly eighteen months ago I started this project on my free time and it was finally coming to fruition four months ago. However, Spike" she motioned to her assistant. "pointed out a very important detail that wherever we went we ran the possibility of not having magic and subsequently not having a way back. After an extra four months and testing i've created a spell to lock on and retrieve a pony from another dimension and bring them. here. So the spells will be a locate and retrieve spell while another is the dimensional travel spell." The group unnoticed by twilight was starting to fall asleep. "I achieved this by reversing the enchantment on the journal me and sunset use to communicate. This brings up the third problem of communication with the pony in the other dimension. This was actually the easiest to solve as by just using the same enchantment as the journal. Now I've tested the recall spell and unfortunately the best I can do is cast it four hours after the dimension and tagging spel-" Twilight was cut off by very loud and obnoxious snore from Pinkie pie.
Twilight turned around and saw all of her friends passed out. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were leaning back to back with the cow pony's hat covering her face. Pinkie pie was asleep laying over Rarity and Fluttershy was curled up like a cat. Frustrated Twilight shouted with her wings flared "Hey!!"
The group snapped out of their slumber and stared at the angry mare. Rainbow was first to offer an apology "Hehe sorry Twilight but you actually managed to make traveling to another dimension boring." Rainbow rubbed the back of her head with a hoof.
Twilight sighed "Whatever, so who's going?" Everypony stared at her like she had grown a second head.
"What?" They asked in unison.
"Who. Is. Going?" The ponies looked at each other in confusion before turning back to Twilight.
"I'm sorry dear but do you mean we aren't ALL going?"
Twilight sighed "If you'd been listening you'd see somepony has to cast the return spell or we'd end up jumping from dimension to dimension. Thus I must remain here because I'm the only one who can cast it."
Her friends started talking among themselves before Rarity asked "So how many of us can go dear."
"I can only send a maximum of two because any more and I wouldn't be able to bring you home. I tested the return spell with various objects starting with small apples to large trees. And all have come back unharmed. This will be the first time with living ponies however which why I've taken so many precautions."
"That makes sense. Ah' reckon I'll go." Applejack stepped forward.
Rainbow Dash ran up next to her. "Not without me your not." Twilight smiled at her friends.
"Alright." twilight levitated a small note pad to Applejack. "This has the same enchantment as Sunset's journal so we can keep in contact." She then levitated a camera to Rainbow Dash "And I need as many pictures as you can get ok?" Rainbow nodded. "Now then, it's important to note that like me your bodies may change once your over there deal with it as best you can should that happen but don't freak out. Now because I'm sending two of you I won't be able to cast the recall spell for roughly four hours. So your on your own until then. So stay out of trouble for Celestia's sake! Ok are you two ready?" Rainbow saluted and Applejack tipped her hat.
Twilight motioned for the rest of the group to get back behind her with Applejack and Rainbow in front. Twilight closed her eyes and concentrated. Her horn lit and steadily grew brighter. The two ponies were getting nervous and inched closer together. The intensity of the alicorn's horn continued to grow until it had the same brightness of the sun. The wind wipped around the area and twilight opened her eyes revealing the glowing orbs.
"TWITCHY TAIL!!" Pinkie screamed as a large crate hit the ground in front of Twilight throwing her on her back. Twilight could only watch in horror as her spell went off in the wrong direction hitting Fluttershy who was hunched down with her hooves over her muzzle. There was massive flash and ball of light as the butter yellow pegasus disappeared from sight.
Twilight and the rest steadily got to their hooves when a gray pegasus flew down to then "Oops... sorry."
Author's Note
Ok I tried to make it a little more original (probably failed) by having twilight actually prepare for the venture rather than Twilight going "OOO new spell must cast with no testing or full understanding." So let me know what you think.
Ikebukuro
Fluttershy opened her eyes and stared at a starless night sky with a full moon. Her ears were filled with loud machine like sounds and ponies talking over one another. She forced herself to sit up and look around. she was in what appeared to be an alleyway similiar to that found in Manehattan. The buildings were decidably grayer than that however. The smell of trash met her nostrals and she waved it away. She attempted to stand only to fall to her stomach.
She took a look down in a rush thinking she may have been injured. But was shocked that she didn't see her usual butter yellow coat or hooves. She didn't even have wings. In their place were fleshy claw like appendages reminding Fluttershy of an ape or monkey's paw. Her hind legs were much longer than her fore limbs indicating she now walked on two legs like a minotaur. To add to her confusion was she lacked a tail was wearing a green sweater with a long light blue skirt.
Scared of what she might find she shakily moved to a puddle and looked at her reflection. Her snout was gone replaced by a small nose and flat mouth. Her mane and eyes were still the same color but her eyes were much smaller now. Her ears were now round on the side of her head rather than at the top and she could not move them as freely.
Fluttershy steadily crawled over to the side of the building and pulled her self up trying to get her footing. When she finally had a sense of balance she practiced walking up and down the alleyway. Once she was confident enough she stuck her head out of the alleyway and was stunned by what she saw. Hundreds of ponies walking up and down side walks. And more inside of what she could only describ as mechanical chariots. Immediately frightened by it all she dove back into the alley.
Unfortunately she had already been seen and a small group of five moved into the alley behind her. "Well what do we have here?" One of them wearing a bandanna round his head moved forward. "You lost little lady? May be we can help? Huh."
Hearing the voice Fluttershy spun around and backed up. While the words sounded helpful, the lecherous grins and her instincts told her otherwise. She backed further into the alley until her back was against the wall. most of them. The giggled and cackled in a way that reminded her of hyenas. But thing that scared her the most was the feeling she got from their eyes. They weren't they eyes of a predator looking for food, but the eyes of a sadistic madness that showed her they could kill her with smiles on their faces. Fluttershy whimpered and slumped down.
"How about you boys leave the poor girl alone."
The group turned and faced the lone man now standing before them. The man was average height wearing a black beanie and dark green jacket. The antagonistic group moved to surround him. "Were busy here so why don't you just turn around and be on your way old man."
The man blinked and whispered "Old?" The man then shook his head. "Listen punk I'm not going to sit here while you punks hurt bystander."
"What was that?!" The leader of the group got in close to the man's face. "You wanna die!?"
Faster than Fluttershy could track the man punched the leader the group. The next moment it was like discord himself descended on them. In a flurry of movement the man started fighting all five at once. The man moved dodging a punch or kick and quickly countered with his own. One of the aggressors got a hit in but it didn't even faze him. Another punch but one was grabbed the man in the beanie and was thrown into the others.
Fluttershy did her best to make herself as small as possible. Two more people descended the wall she was pressed up against. One had blond hair and a Cheshire grin the other seemed female wearing a black newsboy hat and equally black dress. Fluttershy almost mistook the blond one for a dragon when fire seemed to come out of a small can he sprayed at the assailants.
The girl took Fluttershy's hand and pulled her around the group to the alley opening where a van was waiting. The girl then pushed the once pegasus in to the metal contraption and signaled to her companions. The two men then hurried inside after them. "Step on it!"
The van took off down the street throwing the occupants around. Fluttershy settled herself in practically hyperventilating. "OOoo Dotachin acting like a superhero!!" The female said leaning up to the man from hugging him from behind the seat.
"Hey, you know I hate that name." The man the turned to the fear stricken Fluttershy. "My name's Kadota, the driver is Togusa, they otaku maniac twins are Walker and Erica. We saw those punks follow you into the alley and figured we'd step in."
When Fluttershy didn't immediately respond Erica turned to her. "Hey, you okay?" Fluttershy just curled in on herself and remained silent.
"Look we can drop you off somewhere safe, do you have any friends to stay with." Kadota sighed when he didn't get a response.
"Where ever we take her its going to have to wait we got company." Togusa said while looking in the rear view mirror.
Kadota turned around to get a look. Behind them was a massive biker gang chasing a woman on a black bike wearing a yellow helmet with cat ears. The woman pulled up to the window. "Hey Celty what's going on?" The rider tossed a small device to Kadota.
'You tell me, I noticed them chasing you about a mile back. And who's the girl?'
"We're not sure who she is but we stopped a few of them who were about to rape her... or murder her hard to say in this city. We were gona find somewhere to hide until things blow over."
Fluttershy finally got her nervs under control enough to remember what Twilight had said. "Um... I just to find a safe place for a few hours until my friends come for me... if you don't mind that is."
"Well she does speak." Kadota smiled at her. Celty tapped again on the device and tossed it to him.
'Take her to my place, Shizou and Mikato's gang are there I'll take out the bikers for you.'
"Thanks a lot Celty we owe you." The rider pulled off with a wave of her hand the shadows leaped out into a net blocking the pursuers. With bikers fully entangled Celty U-turned and followed the Van.
It didn't take long for them to get to a large apartment complex. Once there Celty took her bike into an elevator. Fluttershy could swear she heard it neigh before the door closed. The group then walked into an elevator there own. The group was silent except for Walker and Erika who had continually talked about what Fluttershy assumed was some kind of fantasy novels, until a ding announced their arrival. Celty arrived before them and loaded her bike into a kind of garage.
Celty turned to Fluttershy and held up the device she saw earlier which read. 'Sorry the apartments going to be kind of packed. You should be fine just don't make Shizuo angry.' Fluttershy nodded wondering why the biker didn't talk but didn't say anything. Celty opened the door and walked into the small apartment with the five guests in tow.
"CEEELLLLTYYY~" A man with in a lab coat and glasses tackled/hugged the rider knocking off her helmet revealing a headless woman with black smoke rising from her neck.
Thump.
Twilight and her friends stared at the spot where their pegasus friend once stood. There was nothing left of her lust an empty space where once stood. Ditzy Doo flew down in center of the group "I'm sorry I'm sor-" She was interupted by Rainbow Dash quickly getting into her face.
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU JUST DID!!!" Dash grabbed preshed her muzzle up to Ditzy's. The mail mare recoiled.
"No... B-But... i'm sorry." Ditzy broke down sobbing in front of the rainbow mare.
Dash glared with fire in her eyes. Applejack walked up behind her and placed a hoof on her shoulder. "Simmer down, sugar-cub-" Dash rounded on the apple farmer.
"SIMMER DOWN!! She just sent Fluttershy to Celestia knows where and you want me to SIMMER DOWN!!!" The pegasus huffed glaring at Applejack daring her to speak again.
"I GOT IT!" The ponies all turned to Twilight giving her their full attention as she sighed in relief.
"Darling care to share with the rest of us." Rarity dead panned as the ponies came closer to listen.
Twilight smiled sheepishly "OH! Right well luckily the spell wasn't interrupted. So-"
"How is that a good thing?!" Rainbow wailed. Now getting in Twilights face.
"If you'd let me FINISH!!" Twilight punctuated shoving the blue pegasus away. Sighing she continued. "The spell wasn't interupted so i can still track her and bring her back. SPIKE!!" The young dragon came running around the corner only stop in place and giving Twilight a salute. "Spike take a letter. Dear Princess Celestia-"
Dear Princess Celestia,
It is with the utmost urgency that I wright to you. After finishing the Dimensional travel spell I invited my friends and asked for volunteers for a live pony test. You should have read the previous notes regarding safety and the magical requirements. However during the final leg of casting the spell witch was meant to send two ponies an unforeseen incident happened and the spell fired at Fluttershy instead of the intended participants Rainbow Dash and Applejack. The good news is that the tracking spell is still operating even after the interference and I should be able to bring her back however, due to the spell being meant for two ponies Fluttershy was sent to a very far away Dimension instead of the closer intended target. Because of the incident too much magic was used and not knowing what sort of twisted or evil Equestria Fluttershy has been sent to with no form of communication-
Fluttershy was laying on a couch still unconscious with a girl with black hair and black hoodie waving a fan over her.
I believe it is important that we get her back immediately rather than wait the four hours needed for the recovery spell to send her back. To do this i will need a large magic transfer that is too much for the average unicorn. That is why you to come or Princess Luna to come immediately to assist.
In dire need of aid, Princess Twilight Sparkle
Celestia looked up from Twilight's letter to the pompus noble infront of her. "Lord Vanity I regret to inform you that an emergency has arrived so i must cut the court session early today." Before the noble could complain she was gone in a flash.
Luna was sleeping soundly in her room when Celestia barged into her room and rushing to the side of the sleeping princess. "Lulu." She shook her gently. "Lulu. Get up, it's an emergency." Luna just tightened her grip on her blanket and rolled over. Celestia smirked and lowered her head till her muzzle was next to Luna's ear, whispered "I hear a young mare has caught pipsqueak's eye."
Luna shot up into a sitting position and yelled "NAY YOUNG PIPSQUEAK!!! THY PRIN cess of the... night... is...?" She trailed off when she heard Celestia's giggle. Luna scowled at the sun mare. "Why hast I been awakened prematurely dear sister?"
Celestia calmed her giggles and turned serious before replying "Something happened when Twilight was finalizing her spell and needs our help to rescue Fluttershy."
Luna jumped out of her bed "Then we make haste sister, to save the bearer of kindness!" Celestia smirked at her sister.
"And what of your regalia sister."
"Such things are frivolous and pointless now quickly to TWILIGHT!!" The night princess yelled before disappearing in a flash of blue light. Celestia giggled again before following suit.
Fluttershy woke up to voices. "Don't know she still hasn't even told us her name... oh hey she's waking up." Fluttershy blinked a few seeing nine pairs of eyes (and one visor) looking at her.
With a startled "Eep" Fluttershy scurried backwards falling off the couch a running on all fours to the far wall, on the verge of hyperventilating. She stared wide-eyed at the group before her. On top of the five she already met another five can be added on to that. There was the man in the lab coat and glasses, another man wearing what she thought was a bartender or butler outfit with blue sunglasses and blond hair they stood in the back with the first ones she met. In front of them were three she hadn't met yet which to her resembled fouls getting ready to enter adult hood if their size was any indicator. The one in the center was male with short black hair, blue eyes and wearing a green and white jacket. To his left was another male with blond hair, and copper eyes, wearing a white hoodie and yellow bandanna. On the far right was what looked like a female with brownish red eyes, and black shoulder length hair wearing a black hoodie/dress with large glasses.
"Alright don't crowd the girl jeez." The man with in the lab coat pushing forward and extended his hand. "Hello my name is Shinra Kishitani I'm a doctor let me see that bump of yours." Fluttershy calmed down when she heard the man was a doctor. He moved beside her so he could get a look at her newly form bump before taking out a small light. "Fallow the light." He moved the light up down then side to side. He then smiled "Can you tell us your name?"
"Fl... Fluttershy." The man cocked his head to side in thought before offering his hand to pull her up.
"Well that's an odd name." He chuckled a bit. "But then again we all have odd names too." He motioned to the rest of the group pointing out each one. "Up front here we have Anri Sonohara, Mikado Ryuugamine, and Masaomi Kida" Then pointed to the bartender "Shizuo Heiwajima and the gorgeous woman in the sexy biker outfit is Celty Sturluson." Girl immediately grabbed and started jabbing a finger into his side with flustered motions. "Ah, ow ow ow Celtyyy~" The silent jabbing from the woman Reminded her of something import Fluttershy squeaked pointing at Celty.
"Is- is wha-what i s-saw real? You don't have a head?" Silence took over the room as celty stopped jabbing Shinra in the side. Celty typed on her small machine again before showing it to Fluttershy.
'Promise not to faint again.' Fluttershy looked from the device then to her then slowly nodded her head. The woman slowly removed her and... and nothing there was nothing there no face, no head, no hair nothing. Just a neck where the head should be and black shadowy mist rising from the empty spot. Fluttershy stared in awe, terror, inspiration, and bafflement. There standing in front of her was something that should not exist but clearly does. It was beyond magical it was spiritual.
"She's a Dullahan." Her thoughts were cut off by Shinra's explanation. "In Ireland they are headless riders, who have many abilities. Like the black smoke you see coming from her head she use that create almost anything. In fact the very cloths she's wearing are created by shadows."
Celty showed the device to fluttershy again. 'Would you like us to take you home or use a phone to call a friend.'
Fluttershy shook her head still scared of Celty's appearance. "My- my friend said that the s-spell will wear off in four hours a-and I s-should be returned home."
"Spell? What do you mean." Before Shinra could ask anymore questions the manga duo rushed up to Fluttershy with stars in their eyes.
"OOOooo are you like Dokoro chan and revive the dead with your magical mace by going pipirupipirupipirupipi~!!" Erika squealed excitably.
"NO no no she's like Madoka!!" Walker suddenly gasped reminding Fluttershy of pinkie pie "LOOK SHE'S EVEN GLOWING!!!" He yelled excitably.
Fluttershy looked and sure enough entire form was lighting up rapidly while everyone got closer to see what was happening. Suddenly the light flashed bright as the sun before anyone could even hide their eyes, and when the light dimmed there wasn't a soul left in the small complex.

Fair warning the alternate universe tag is there for Durarara as I have the characters with full knowledge of each other's past. And time period wise for mlp after season 4 not really sure I'll be including season 5 content or not. For Durarara alternate ending from the first season nothing from Shou or ten or ketsu. Also no Izaya will not be making an appearance because yeah there was absolutely no way to put him as an active character without making a long fic. I'm OH SO SORRY
Twilight paced back and forth impatiently waiting for her mentor. Luckily her friends have mostly calmed down when they learned they could get Fluttershy back, though that didn't stop them from worrying about her. Pinkie Pie was was playing tic-tac-toe with Rarity while Applejack and Rainbow dash proceeded to hoof wrestle each and do various other sport related events. Twilight herself felt absolutely horrible, but maintained hope that she would be able to bring her friend back safe and sound.
The tell tail flash of signified the arrival her mentor. Twilight and her friends looked up to find the two regal princesses standing side by side. They rushed to greet them. The young alicorn hugged the sun goddess.
"Thank Faust your both here." Celestia nodded to her before motioning for her friends to rise.
"How long has she been gone?"
"Two and a half hours." Twilight moved back to her friends the princesses in tow. "I'm just going to need you to syphon your magic through my horn to perform the spell. It will take alot of magic but with you and Luna here this should be simple." The princesses nodded and took their place. Twilights friends and Ditzy making a semicircle around them with twilight in the middle.
"When you're ready Twilight." She nodded and began charging her horn.
"I'm ready."
Celestia and Luna lit their horns and tendrils of magic reaching out towards Twilight's horn making it glow brighter. "I NEED MORE!" Twilight screamed as the wind around them started to pick up quickly deafening their ears.
"Woah nelly!!" Applejack yelled ducking down holding onto her hat. The rest of the elements making similiar pleas as the wind whipped around the group. Twilights horn continued to glow brighter and brighter, until finally she released a flash.
"OK We're Good!!" Twilight yelled over the wind but the alicorn sisters didn't here her as they continued to pour magic into the spell. Twilight growing worried began frantically waving at them to stop.
"WHAT'D SHE SAY?!" Luna sceam/asked her sister.
"I DON'T KNOW KEEP POURING IT!!" The alabaster alicorn replied. Twilight struggled to get close to them so they'd hear, but it was too late. The two alicorns had already overfed the spell, and Twilight could only hope her friend arrived safely. Suddenly an explosion rocked everyone in the area back several feet.
Celestia was the first back on her hooves to survey the seen. Where twilight was focusing the spell was a large crater, dust and smoke obscuring the scene. Twilight and her friends were thrown it various positions while in random states of disorder. With a strong flap of her wings the sun alicorn pushed the smoke away revealing a sight that would make any normal pony run for the hills. Before her was the oddest combination of creatures she had ever seen. Six of them looked like run of the mill ponies but each seemed to have a somewhat off putting aura about that Celestia couldn't place. Among them were three pegasi two earth ponies and a unicorn. It was the other four that caused her pale and tense.
Out front was a what looked like a young changeling queen with red eyes and mane talking with a green and white drake that looked a few years older than spike. Also talking with the group was a young pegasus stallion with a beige coat with golden mane and eyes wearing a yellow bandanna. His cutie mark was stylized top hat and bow tie seeming to representative of a gentlecolt.
The loudest of the group was the four ponies off to the side. Consisting of two pegasi stallions a unicorn mare and an earth pony stallion. One pegasus had a white coat and blond mane wearing a blue hoodie his cutie mark was that of a bottle with a flame on top. The oddest part of the pegasus however was his seeming permanent Cheshire grin that hid his eyes. He was in an oddly pinkie pie-like debate with the purple unicorn wearing a news boy hat. Her mane was black and her cutie mark was what looked a black and white comic book with a small hammer and chisel in the back drop.
The last two of the four was the other pegasus with a brown coat and slightly darker short mane wearing a red vest and gold necklace. His cutie mark was a circle with a line running through the middle. The last was a dark faded blue earth pony wearing a beanie with brown eyes his cutie mark that of a what looked like a minotuar fist with a comic book action star behind it.
Standing behind the rest was a headless centaur mare wearing a black jacket with black smoke coming out of her neck with an overly cheerful and affectionate light brown earth pony in a lab coat clinging to her. Standing next to her was a golden diamond dog wearing a butler vest and light blue sunglasses with his arms crossed smoking a cigarette.
But the most shocking of all was Fluttershy actively -if nervously- talking to with the with the headless centaur.
Fluttershy was the first to figure out what happened and shook away her shock. Sanding up she froze. Before her were ten strangely familiar ponies all coming to at their own rate. While at first scared she knew immediately who they were when her eyes fell on the headless centaur. "Celty?" The centaur stood over the pegasus and waved silently confirming her suspicions. "Oh thank goodness you scared me." Fluttershy looked around and ran over the golden diamond dog. "Shizou... right?" He nodded.
"Fluttershy... weird." The commotion next to them alerted their attention to the rest of the group who gaining their bearings. Walker and Erica seemed to be taking it the best, while the rest just seemed to be confused. They all quickly got their bearings and were talking among themselves. A gust of wind blew the smoke that had obscured their vision. To the Fluttershy the being before was her Princess and friend to the others was just another strange sight for them to behold.
"GET AWAY FROM HER!!"

This chapter was literally detail as you've no doubt gathered. I would like to apologize for the lateness of this chapter as it took a bit to get my head where i wanted it to be.
I'm sure some may be curious as to why I didn't turn them all into ponies. There are a few reasons actually. First and foremost that'd be boring. Second no mater how hard i tried i could not make shizuo a pony no mater what image came to mind they all felt wrong. So I went with diamond dog because not many people do that and it gave him access to his unique talent of ripping ridiculously heavy things out of the ground and hurling them. I feel if I had made him a unicorn it would cheapen his accomplishment. So I figured why not go the full length and make all the power houses different. I made Celty a centaur because she was a headless rider I thought this would be good representation of that. Anri a changeling because it was the most logical choice given their premise. Can't love, parasitic, and apparently has a hive mind so yeah that's that. I made Mikado a dragon because like Shizuo i couldn't think of an appropriate pony appearance and felt he needed something a bit more. For Masaomi I had trouble thinking of an appropriate cutie mark so I went with his i guess gentleman avatar used at the end of drrr. No other reason than he seems the type. I don't think i need to explain the others.
I believe I said I was going to stick with the first series of drrr however after watching the rest of ketsu i can't turn away from that kind of character development. So i will have to retract my earlier statement and say I will be including in this story. Sorry to go back on my word there.
