Night's Agent
Ch. 3 Down And Dirty
Previous ChapterDay 1.
Operation: Investigate
0900 Hrs
Location: Luna's Room, Canterlot Castle, Canterlot, Equestria
After getting Scootaloo a place to sleep at Fluttershy's till he got back, Silver Star finally got to Canterlot Castle. With Luna's dagger in hand, he made his way to the throne room. He wore a black cloak with charcoal colored armor, his vambraces shown past the sleeves of the cloak. His armor covered most of his vital organs and arteries, while silver chainmail made up for the gaps. A claymore style sword swung from his left hip while a katana style sword was strapped to his back. Several throwing knives adorned the black belt he wore. His satchel hung from his back as well, containing survival items he knew he would need. He stalked up to the throne and went to one knee in front of the Sun Princess.
"Ah, Silver Star, I was wondering when you might come." Celestia smiled graciously. "Leave us." She commanded the group with her. The group contained advisors and the guard Captain himself. He regarded Silver Star with a faint nod. Celestia then stood and walked to the hallway. "This way is Luna's room."
Silver Star nodded and followed. The Captain followed Silver close behind. He watched Silver as they walked. Silver noted this and strode next to Celestia.
"Is this guy gonna hump my leg?" Silver asked Celestia in a low voice.
Celestia looked at him. "That is Shining Armor, my guard captain. He will be coming with us."
He looked back at the stallion, then back at her. "I thought I said to keep this under wraps." Silver said harshly.
Celestia looked at Silver again. "You really are into this, aren't you?"
Silver gave a snort. "This is a matter of national security."
Celestia raised a hand as they arrived at the room. "Which is why you, me, and Captain Shining are the only ones that know. Like you said, 'no need to cause panic'."
Silver rolled his eyes and looked around. Nothing was moved after Celestia discovered it. Silver walked around the room. He took in every detail he could to piece together what had happened.
She was rushed... The assailant came through the window... pegasus? No... something else... Griffon? No, too big... Silver reached the window, something caught his eye. He kneeled down and discovered a teal-ish something on the floor near the balcony. He picked it up, it crinkled in his light grip. No, worse... He didn't think after the wedding they would come back. He crushed the tid-bit in his hand.
Silver then walked out of the room, finally having the whole scene in his head. Luna was rushed in broad daylight. His aim was off and he hit the door jamb, must have been a wing or his shell. He tried grabbing Luna, but Luna had a weapon. She lashed out slashing him. Then the assailant knocked her out and carried her away...
Silver shook his head and narrowed his eyes. "I know who took her, but I need to know one thing."
Celestia breathed a heavy sigh. "What is it?"
"Which direction was the Changeling queen banished to?"
She frowned. "What does that have to... do... you're not suggesting..."
Silver turned, his expression dark. "I am."
Day 1.
Operation: Conclusion
1000 Hrs.
Location: Celestia's chambers, Canterlot Castle, Canterlot, Equestria
"You're not suggesting this was the Changelings doing, are you?" Shining asked, almost in disbelief.
"There's no suggesting, Captain. This was the Changelings." Silver sat in the chair in Celestia's room.
"What proof do you have?" Shining said.
Silver rolled his eyes and tossed Luna's dagger to him. "Look at this blade, does it not have the blood of a Changeling on it?"
Shining inspected it and did discover the blood. He re-sheathed the blade. "Ok, maybe they did it. But they must have covered their tracks well by now. How do you hope to find the princess?"
Silver narrowed his eyes at Shining. "You know, for someone who has dedicated his life to the service of the Princesses and of the people of Equestria, you sure don't seem confident."
Shining rolled his eyes. "I'm just being realistic."
Silver scoffed. "No wonder Canterlot gets attacked all the time. Maybe it's time for a change of the guard captain."
Shining got into Silver's face as Silver stood. "Don't mock me, whelp. I won't hesitate to kill-"
Silver pulled the dagger out of it's sheath in Shining's hand, kneeing Shining in the gut and planting the blade's edge on Shining's neck. "You were saying?"
Celestia stood. "Enough, both of you! You two are acting foolish! None of this is finding my sister!" She stomped her foot in anger. Silver released Shining. Shining rubbed his neck where the blade was held.
"I need to know where they might have reformed themselves. If I can get to it, I can get to Luna." Silver said.
Shining looked at Celestia. "Majesty, I implore you to look for another option. Send me instead, I will get your sister."
Silver scoffed. Shining scowled at him while Celestia raised a hand.
"Captain, your bravado is admirable, however, I believe Silver is up to the task. We need not a show of force when we can simply send one to do it. Plus, Silver knows Luna. He can find her and bring her back without incident."
Silver nodded. "When do you make for the Badlands?" She asked.
"I can leave right now." Silver said. Shining stood, arms crossed and huffing. Silver turned to the door and headed out. The Badlands huh? This is gonna be very, very, interesting.
