//-------------------------------------------------------// Sweet Nightmares -by Derpyforever- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Was that me? //-------------------------------------------------------// Was that me? "Let me out! Let me out! Please!!!" "Don't bother." The small purple unicorn turned his head and looked at a small, golden plushie. It's four hooves held it up as it sat on a small bed while its plastic eyes stared straight back. "I... I just want it to stop... the nightmares... them," the young colt glanced over to more plushies that sat upon a blue dresser, "I... I don't understand... didn't they see it?! If I didn't attack it, it would've... it would've.." The colt look back at the plushie, expecting an answer, but no sound was heard. "They... they were terrifying," the unicorn shuddered, "Their teeth... their laugh... and their eyes! That was the worst! They had no soul! It was like Tartarus had manifested itself into these beings!" Again no answer from the huggable doll. "... Maybe... Maybe Mom and Dad we're right... maybe it was just my imagination..." "... Tomorrow is another day..." A small object was suspended in the air, its handle surrounded by a light orange aura. With a click, it revealed itself to be a flashlight as the young unicorn's face was lighten. He shined the light at one side of his room at a white, wooden door, then at the other side to an identical door. "Tick tock, tick tock, boy. Here they come." A grandfather clock sounded throughout the house as the colt slightly jumped at the sudden chimes. "Go to the door, boy." The unicorn got up and dashed to his left door, peering through the ajared space. "Go ahead, boy, turn your light on." The unicorn pushed the door slightly open and shined his flashlight down the hall. All seemed clear for the moment as he clicked on and off a few times just to be sure. The unicorn took a deep breath, than turn his light off momentarily as he zoomed back to his spot in front of his bed. "Don't trust your friends, boy. The once soft and innocent can become your worst nightmare." The colt peeked over his bed and came face to face with a little plushie. It looked like the golden one, only brown. "Watch your back, boy, for he may change when you're not looking... What was that?" The colt quickly shot his head around and looked at his right door, shining his light on it. Frightened, he got up and ran to the door, getting as close as he could without any sound. "What do you hear, boy... Is it breathing... She's there. Close it! Close the door NOW!" The colt grabbed the doorknob and slammed his door shut, holding on tightly like a leaf holding onto its tree in a strong breeze. "She's gone. Open the door if you dare. Go on, don't be shy." The colt slightly relaxed his grip as he opened the door; he flicked his flashlight into the hall and saw a faded yellow, rusting hoof disappear into the darkness. "Good job, boy, you scared her off. Come back." The colt ran back to his spot, his breathing had become slightly erratic, as his hooves started shake. "Are you scared, boy? Do you feel like they are watching you... laughing... or... does it feel like a breath is running down your neck... like something is right... behind you?" The unicorn flung his head and the light back as they revealed his once huggable plushie replaced with twitching, smiling monstrosities. Their pupilless eyes and sharp teeth that sat upon a dislocated jaw were only visible for a second before disappearing in a fast blur. His breathing got even faster and he nearly dropped his flashlight as he jumped and turned around. He did not dare to look back anytime soon. "Tsk. What did you think of our little friends, boy? Don't worry, they won't be coming back... for now, you need to check one more... Wait! I hear it... to the door, boy! The colt zipped from his spot to his left door. The moment he heard a long, slow breath he shut his door and held on for dear life. "Looks like Bonnie is awake, hehe... Alright boy, open the door, if you dare." At this point, the breath of the frighten pony has become so short and loud that he had no idea if the creature on the other side had ran off. It could still be waiting there with its senseless smile and dead, shiny eyes. Waiting to claim him and do Faust knows what. "Hurry up, boy! If you don't do something soon, Chica's little minion will be coming for you!" Taking a deep breath, the colt opened the door with a steadiness of a craftsman. Ever so slightly, the door came open as the colt peered into the dark abyss that was the hallway. Shaking madly, the colt raised his flashlight... and turned it on... A blue muzzle with huge, metal teeth that were stuck in a permanent smile dimly reflected the light before disappearing from the shadows. "Hmph. It seems you managed to scare her off. Impressive." The colt came back to his spot in front of the bed keeping an eye on the left door. "You've check the door and what's behind you... that only leaves one spot... the closet." The colt began turning his head right until he saw the shutters on his closet slightly rattle out of the corner of his eye. He almost yelped as he brought a hoof to his mouth. "Check the closet, boy." Carefully, he got up and ran up to the closet. He grabbed the light... and shined it... to see a metal, beaten up head screech at him! "IT'S FOXY! Quick! Boy! Scare him off with the light!" Frantically, the colt switched his light on and off quickly into the darkness. The head disappeared and was replaced with a small, red plushie doll with an innocent smile. "Good. Good. You chased him off... and listen." The grandfather clock rang out as the small colt shivered and ran back to his spot. Although traumatized by what he saw, he was still able to listen to the chimes. "Dong... Dong... Dong... Dong... Dong... Five o'clock, boy, six A.M. is right around the corner." The colt was about to let out a sigh of relief until he began to hear small, rhythmic steps to his right. "Looks like Chica wants to play again. Hurry, not, the door!" The colt again zoomed to the door as be heard breathing again. He slammed the door and gripped tightly yet again. This time, the doorknob jiggled in his hooves as the colt bit his bottom lip from screaming. A moment passed, and the jiggleing stopped. This time, the colt remembered to slow his breathing down and quietly. He heard the steps again and they walked off before they died off. "Good job, boy, go ahead and check, if you’re brave enough." The colt waited a second, and then slowly opened the door. The crack got wider and wider as the colt raised up his flashlight... be turned it on... "BEHIND YOU! Did you hear it?! Something's coming for you!" The colt dashed to the other side of the room and looked through the crack. "What do you see? Do you see its body?! Do you see its permanent smile? It's rusting, beaten, brown suit?!" The colt shut the door tight along with his eyes. "Don't be afraid. It's a friend. They're all your friends." "P-Please... stop this," the colt cried as put all his weight on holding the door shut as he heard the thing on the other side scratch at it. "Do you hear him? Do you hear him sing? Go ahead, sing along with Freddy!" "You should all come play with us..." "No! No! I don't want this," the colt begged. "Embrace it, boy! We are your friends! You are one of us!" "... Then we'll have some fun..." "Please," the colt cried, "Just stop!" "OPEN THE DOOR, BOY!" "... You should all come play with us..." "P-PLEASE JUST STOP THIS NIGHTMARE," the colt screamed. "...Then we'll..." "OPEN THE DOOR!" "NO," The colt yelled. "... KILL YOU!!!" Dong... Dong... Dong... Dong... Dong... Dong... 6 a.m. has arrived.... ... It seems like the boy was able to survive. Hats off to the boy... ... Now... ... onto night two... (The End)
