//-------------------------------------------------------// Mechanical Ponies -by Smokey Glacier- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Great Big White World (Alpha) //-------------------------------------------------------// Great Big White World (Alpha) The whole world went away. That's the best way to describe what happened after the digital fallout happened to Equestria. Everything is white and lifeless. So are all the ponies that live in this shithole. For some, it's the greatest thing to ever happen. For most, it has turned their lives into a living hell. If you were in space and were to look down, You would see a revolting and depressing sight which is our destroyed world. Everypony is mechanical, self-destructive and hollow. And instead of doing something about it, they wait for Celestia to do something about it. Instead of making the world a better place, they pray just like insects to Celestia to make it better, and all the while the world is just dying. By saying 'I'm not attached to your world' I mean I feel alienated from everypony and everything around me, and that I don't want to take part in the murder of this planet any longer. When I say 'It's a great big white world', I am calling the world fake, lifeless, ugly and empty. If other ponies saw this, and felt the same way, maybe the world wouldn't be so drained of all it's color. I am Alpha. I have been to the top, and seen the bottom. They aren't very different at all. Based on my observations, there is no hope for this dystopia of a planet. Or so they made us think... //-------------------------------------------------------// Mechanical Ponies (Alpha) //-------------------------------------------------------// Mechanical Ponies (Alpha) Something I left out when i was ranting about the world, was how mainstream everything is. This band that I really like, and unlike everypony else, I like them because I listen to them, and I like the way they think. The band is called Mechanical Ponies, and everypony I know loves them as well. But what they don't realize is that the musicians mock the very ponies who adore them. Media is their best friend, and they are everyponies best friend. Now that I've told you about Mechanical Ponies, I'll tell you about how I first met them. The vibrant and heavy sound of the guitar rang in my ears as they played the final note of their song, thus ending the concert. I had a backstage pass, so of course, them being my favorite band, I had to meet them. I traveled trough the crowd of the zombies to the doors that led to the corridor of dressing rooms. Once I was through the door, my heart was beating in my chest. What started off as a walk turned into a trot. I haven't felt this giddy since I got a vinyl copy of their first album. My trot slowed down once I saw a door with Omega's name imprinted across it. My mouth stretched into a grin as I raised a hoof to tap on the door, my heart beating faster than before. Before my hoof made contact, the knob clicked, and the door slowly opened. I quickly put my hoof back to the ground as I stood in front of Omega himself. "Say something!" I said to myself as his red-contacted gaze met mine. "H-hey!" I said, keeping my smile. "Well this isn't awkward at all", I said again. "What's up, man?" he said as he laid his eyes on my pass. "You can come in if you want," he said, stepping aside, letting me see the inside of his room, who was also occupied by the other band members. I wasn't sure how to respond. This was amazing! One of the most intelligent ponies on earth welcoming me into his dressing room with the rest of his band! "Thanks!" I exclaimed, stepping into the room, looking at the Desk with all his makeup, contact cases and wigs. Omega sat across from me as he removed his contacts, revealing dark brown iris's. "You want some coke?" he asked nonchalantly, motioning to thin white lines on his desk. He then waved the same hoof at me dismissively. "Nah, if you do drugs, it's gotta be before the concert," he said with a chuckle. "So what's your name?" My ears perked up as he asked this. "My name's Alpha." He nodded, smirking. "The opposite of me, I see." I laughed a little, trying not to laugh for too long or too loud, because that would make this situation awkward. And that's the last thing I would want to happen in this situation. My emotions fought over each other as I struggled to find words to say. "Yeah, I guess so." I scratched the back of my head with a hoof. "So, if you're like the rest of my fans, you probably wont leave this room innocent," He said, his gaze turning sultry, which i just now realized has never left me from the moment I sat down. "What if I told you I'm not like your other fans?" I asked shyly. He knit his eyebrows quizzically, crossing his back hooves as he leaned back. "Tell me how you're different from the other fancolts and fanmares." My eyes widened a little as I inhaled to speak. "Well, unlike the other zombies, I listen to your lyrics instead of it passing through my ears like air through a wind tunnel." This made him smile. "Finally! Somepony who shares the same views as me! Haven't met anypony in a while who has." After the conversation went on with us ranting about previously mentioned world issues for about a half hour or so, his eyes lit up with an idea as he leaned forward closer to me. "You're a pretty smart guy... How would you," He poked a hoof into my chest. "Like to go with me on the rest of my tour?" I gulped, my cheeks turning red as I looked side to side at the drummer and guitarist, then back to Omega. "I-I'd love to!" He nodded again. "Haven't ever really had somepony go on tour with me before that wasn't a groupie. Guess it'll be a new experience for the both of us, huh?" "Yeah! I can't wait. I didn't expect you to be like this in real life." "You expected me to be an average pony, huh? I can't blame you. Look at how I dress." He held his arms out for emphasis on his leather-clad body. "No, no, that's not what I-" "I know what you meant, I was just fucking around with ya." He looked at his guitarist. "Twiggy, get this fine gentlecolt some clothes, a fine mare, and some pills. He's one of us now." Those were the words that changed the rest of my life. //-------------------------------------------------------// Rock is Dead (Alpha) //-------------------------------------------------------// Rock is Dead (Alpha) So, I went on tour with Omega, not to brag, and I was never really on stage, but I still got front row seats, giving me an amazing view of all the shows. However, after one certain show, we had an upset stallion to deal with. *** Okay, so after the third show I've been to on tour, we were all sitting in the dressing room, the scent of sweat and smoke lingering on everypony's body. We were discussing what Omega's new album would include, and what it would be titled, and during this conversation, a stallion with a short-cut blonde main and a dark grey coat burst through the door. "Who the hell are you?" I asked, still sitting on the couch next to twiggy the guitarist. Twiggy doesn't really talk much... "Who am I?! That's none of your concern. What I want to know is who do you all think you are?!" Omega turned in his chair to face him and knit his brows as soon as he saw him. "We're The Mechanical Ponies?" he remarked with a shrug. I couldn't help but smirk a little. Nothing made me happier than seeing professionals get hot headed and belittled by the ones they call "freaks." "You may have everypony else fooled, but I get what you're all doing, and this has to stop!" He basically yelled, stomping a hoof down as he finished his sentence. "You mean make music? Yeah, that's... kind of what we do." I said, even though I wasn't exactly a professional musician. Not yet. "No, I don't mean," He placed his hoof to his side "Making music," he said, mocking my remark, making a fire burn in my stomach as the urge to buck him right in the groin arose. "I mean, stop trying to make everyone question the lives they live! I've heard the words in your songs, omega! And to be honest, I'm not that happy about it! Telling everypony you're a suicide king, raping ponies, starting fights and whatnot. It's bad for our youth and their young minds!" "Well, it's their parents jobs as, you know, PARENTS, to keep them away from my kind of music if it's so bad. We aren't trying to make children do what we tell them to, we're trying to express ourselves in the most creative way we can, Mr..." "Sam. Just Sam," he finally added. "And you aren't teaching messages to anypony, you fucking disgrace to music. Rock is dead, and it always will be." "Who in the hell let you in?!" I cut in. That made him look around the room, before stepping back. "Before you call security, just remember that this can only go on for a certain amount of time." With that, he closed the door behind him, leaving the room in silence for a few moments, whom Twiggy was surprisingly the first to break the silence. "So... wait, what?" "Just some overly sensitive puss," I said. "whoever his coltfriend is, he probably could've done better." Omega chucked at my joke. "I've seen him before. I never knew his name before now, but I've seen him before some concerts shooting me dirty looks. That's the first time I've talked to him, considering the fact that he usually has King Sombra's nutsack in his mouth." We all laughed at that. "So, rock is dead, huh?" I questioned. "Why don't we show him how dead rock really is." Omega nodded, grinning wildly. "Twigs, I need a heavy, new intro and chorus by tomorrow. We need to write a song that really says "Fuck You!" to everypony like him." //-------------------------------------------------------// The Dope Show (Omega) //-------------------------------------------------------// The Dope Show (Omega) This story is about how the world stopped working correctly. My name is Omega. I'm a famous Musician and I can't go anywhere without a pony shoving a camera in my face, or being ogled at by mindless, desperate mares. I suppose some of this can be endured, but It gets so aggravating after the first few blind dates that end with an "Ejaculation and Evacuation" as I like to call it. During these encounters I've developed a drug problem. But I wouldn't call LSD a drug, but a medicine. Hell, I might as well make myself as white as the world we live in. I write songs for the band I'm in, The Mechanical Ponies. Nobody gets that we named it for a statement. They just see us as entertainment and don't listen to our lyrics. Just the music and the sounds. It's like an old band once said. People hearing without listening. I guess it's always been this way. Too bad it's never gotten better. This world is full of hypocrites. They claim to love songs with strong messages, but never show it. For instance, Somepony may say they care about others, but really they only care when they're pretty or dead. Or, like me, Both at once. This is the Dope Show, and it's a traveling circus that will never end. Still think I'm exaggerating? Once at an autograph signing, I had somepony come up to me whom I remember from high school. He claimed he didn't remember the times he would put me down, and victimize me. He also seemed to think that I forgot as well. I didn't say anything though. He didn't even remember going to high school with me. If he ran into me a few years ago, he wouldn't have asked for an autograph. He would put me on my ass. But it's not like I'm a normal pony anymore. I'm famous, and there's no going back. I am Omega, and I'm one of the biggest stars in The Dope Show.
