A crimson coated Pegasus with a black mane walked down the long, white hall-way. His hoofsteps echoing all around him. The hallway was mostly empty except for the occasional 'SCP: Secure. Contain. Protect.' poster. He wasn't sure if it was just his head messing with him, but at some point, he though he heard a pony scream out in the distance. He didn't like it. Not. One. Bit.
After a few minutes, if about twenty counts as a few, he got to the only door so far in this hallway. He wasn't sure if this was were he should be, if he chose wisely in taking this job. He could still back out of course, not go inside, though he needed the money, and his monthly salary would be around 98,000 bits. As he opened the door, he just couldn't shake off a gut feeling that kept telling the stallion, "You're so screwed."
As the Crimson Pony stepped into the office, he found it to be a bit... unnerving. There was no scary pictures, weapons, or dead bodies, nothing like that. It's just... that. Nothing. Just a lone chestnut brown pony standing in the middle, looking into a lone monitor in front of him. The only object there other then the monitor was the lab-coat the brown pony wore, and the crimson colored pony who stood by the doorway.
"Come in." The lab-Pony told the other, not looking up from the screen his eyes were fixed upon.
The Pegasus pony took a deep breath of air, and moved toward the Lab-pony. "Hello. My name is--" He was cut off however, when the Lab-pony rose a hoof to silence the visitor.
"No names. We'll give you yours. From here on, you're to be known as 'Chaser.'" The Chestnut colored pony said. Finally taking his eyes off of the screen in front of him. He took two steps toward Chaser, before offering his hoof to him. "You may call me Doctor Blight. Or just the Doctor."
Chaser stood there, staring at the Doctor's hoof. Finally, they shook hooves. "It's a pleasure Doctor."Chaser said simply. Not wanting to make a bad first impression.
"Come over here. I shall brief you on your new job." The Doctor said, ushering Chaser toward the monitor that Doctor Blight had been looking at the past few minutes.
The two ponies looked at the monitor, where a screen appeared with three sentences on it.
"These are the classification levels for a SCP. You know what an SCP is, correct?" The Doctor asked Chaser.
"Yeah, it's some kind of living thing that's not from our world, right?" Chaser asked, more then stated.
"In a way, you can say that. But some aren't living..." The Doctor pointed to the first sentence with his hoof. "Safe. It's the first Classification level. Safe generally means that the SCP is... well, safe. But most safe SCPs, you must take into considerations of special containment procedures. Otherwise, something could happen." The Doctor pulled something out of his lab coat, it was an object that fires these things at high velocity, or otherwise lethal speeds. "A gun, this here is an example of a safe SCP." He threw it up and caught it with a hoof. "You can play around with it and not get badly hurt, but set it off..." The Doctor flipped a switch on the gun and fired a shot. Causing Chaser to duck and recoil from the bang. "And it could kill you." He put the gun away. "Safe classes are highly predictable, so we know what we need to do to prevent deaths. You'll work with them."
"Sound fun." Chaser said dryly.
The Doctor returned to the monitor and pointed toward the second sentence. "Euclid. Simply put, the difference between Safe and Euclid is that safe classes are predictable..." With a swift movement, The Doctor pulled the gun out and quickly shot it three times, causing Chaser to stand there, body rigid and stiff. "Euclid classes aren't. You seem to not be as fearful of guns now. That's good. Also, a wild animal, is a type of Euclid, and you'll work with them."
Actually, I was just so scared he couldn't move. But he doesn't need to know that. Chaser thought.
"The last one... is Keter." The Doctor looked at Chaser. "They can cause significant destruction, and actively tries to kill everypony. They need to be terminated as soon as possible. Usually only class D personnel can work with Keter classes, but since you're an Agent, you get to work with them. An example of a Keter is a lit stick of dynamite. One mistake, and ponies could die."
The Monitor let out a alarm, and began to flash multiple colors. The Doctor muttered a curse under his breath and went over to it. He swore and looked toward Chaser. "Hey Agent, are you ready to start your job?"
Chaser stood there confused for a while but then replied with a "Sure, I guess so."
"Okay, stand in front over here." The Doctor pointed to a space in front of him. "I'll teleport you to site [REDACTED]" He told Chaser.
"Okay, but why? What's at site site [REDACTED]?" Chaser asked, moving onto the spot.
The frustrated Doctor fiddled with the monitor, and simply said "We have a containment breach." Before Chaser was whisked away to site [REDACTED].
