My Little Pony: Paisley Tales is intended to be a spin-off series of the show, Friendship is Magic. It takes place approximately 10 years or so after Princess Twilight Sparkle takes her throne in Ponyville. The story almost entirely revolves around original characters but does feature some canon cast members as supporting roles for plot developement.

Paisley Tales showcases a group of merchant ponies that were shipwrecked on an island many generations ago and taken care of by a mythical Goddess named Pele. Pele appears as an alicorn but she is in actuality more of a nature spirit. She can be fiery at times and unforgiving to the children she rescued from the grasp of the ocean's cold hands. Because of the unique bond these islanders have with their home, they have evolved as their own special species.

Ukulele Moon is the main character of the story and the plot outlines her struggle with self-realization, depression and self-worth. There are some adult themes in the story that may disturb some or twist your perception of My Little Pony fanfics. The goal of this story is to help others come to terms with their shortcomings and find value in their efforts.
