Ponies of Prophecy

Now where shall I begin with such a grand tale of epic proportions? How about the beginning? The very beginning? Yes that works nicely, well let’s see...

At the start of the universe, there existed two creatures. These creatures were in fact, sisters! Celestia the eldest of the two and believed to be the more powerful of the two, as well as her younger sister Luna. They decided after a while that the nothingness they were surrounded by was becoming... well boring to say the least. They planned and in the end settled upon one idea which they believed to hold great potential! They would create everything as we know it today! They pondered upon a place where they could create life in their own image, and maybe have a bit of fun on the side. They named such a place Equinoxes. Over time the galaxies and planets were created, filling the empty space that at one time ruled. The planets grew and filled up with all manners of creatures.

The first to dominate the sisters creations were the Dragons untameable and fiery beasts with thick scaly hides, short tempers and an affinity of sorts with fire. Next to come were the buffalo a race of proud, sturdy mammals with a hardy constitution but a tendency to become stubborn with age. After these came many other creatures from all walks of life such as Griffins daring and strong bird-like creatures of the sky, Manticores large unruly and sly beasts which prowled the forest’s, and even Hydras, creatures of grand scale and multiple heads. It wasn’t until much later that the sisters had had enough fun creating all manner of weird and wonderful beasts they finally created equines!

Zebras, mysterious and wise, they drew their powers from the valleys which had become their homes. Pegasus, Brave and Strong, natural warriors they drew their powers from the skies and the clouds from which they made their homes. Unicorns, intelligent and magical, they drew their powers from the wildfire which was their magic which flowed through their bodies like blood. And Earth ponies, enduring and greenhooved, their hooves were truly magical the way they worked with the land, they drew their powers from the very land they toiled over. For a time that is for this world was not as perfect as the Sisters wished.

There were many evil Deities such as Queen Chrysalis and Discord. Such creatures caused chaos amongst the sister’s creations! They had to be stopped! The elements of harmony were created; these were the 6 ideals of friendship the sister’s valued the most! They embodied these elements and defeated one form of evil after another. Discord however was not as easily handled he overpowered the sister’s for a time and formed the discordian revolt. This organizations main goal was to cause and spread the joy and freedom of chaos. Discord however was eventually dethroned by the sisters and frozen in stone.

It was not until later that they discovered that Discord was a simple prankster that only wanted a bit of fun even if it was kind of to the extreme. But this was not the end to the woes of the two pony sisters. The youngest sister Luna, had become invigorated by jealousy, the ponies, their subjects had reviled her as a demon of the night but worshiped her sister Celestia as the deity of the sun. She could not stand for this, she worked painfully hard every night to paint the beautiful night sky and did she get any appreciation? No! Only fear and hate, rumours spread of how she ate ponies of all things, all she had ever wanted was to be loved. So she decided she must take their love by force! She declared an eternal night but eventually was overpowered by Celestia and she was banished to the moon for 1000 years until the stars would aid in her release and she would return once more to bring about an eternal night.

When she returned she banished Celestia to the sun and declared herself to be queen of Equestria, however the ponies revolted against this, especially the one known as Twilight Sparkle who in fact was the star pupil of Celestia herself, who had been studying the elements of harmony which had been used to defeat Nightmare moon! She and 5 of her new Ponyvillian friends braved the Everfree forest and through many challenges came closer and closer to the old castle of the two pony sister’s were a showdown between Twilight Sparkle and Nightmare Moon had been fought.

During the ensuing battle Twilight discovered the missing element of harmony which was Magic! She and her 5 new friends; Pinkie Pie Element of Laughter, Rainbow Dash Element of Loyalty, Fluttershy the Element of Kindness, Applejack the Element of Honesty and Rarity the Element of Generosity defeated Nightmare moon and returned her to the princess of the night, Luna. Later on though, Discord returned to cause chaos in the form of stealing the elements of harmony from the Canterlot vaults. He caused the new element bearers through a maze which in turn aided him in corrupting them. When twilight was about to give up she was reminded about the magic of friendship thanks to letters sent from her teacher Celestia.

She found the elements in her home, the Ponyville library. She in turn restored her friends and together restored Discord’s stone casing. But this was not enough the stress of such evil plans and the sisters snapped they took out their stress upon one another and attacked each other, the elements of harmony arrived to stop this battle, but alas they were not strong enough and in the end the entire city of Canterlot was destroyed. Without the head of Government the whole of Equinox fell into chaos and disrepair. The creatures of the land lost their knowledge which was stored in the archives of Canterlots library that all the ponies across the land became primitive

They forgot how to live properly. They forgot so many things they became primitive and formed tribes based on race, the zebra’s, the earth ponies, the unicorns, the Pegasus, the griffons, the buffalo and the dragons. They were far more advanced than the other creatures though who fell into ruin and finally became extinct. Over the space of 100 years, darkness reigned and plagued the universe without the guiding light of the pony sisters, their only hope was that of prophecy, those seven creatures, one from each tribe would rise and push back the wave of darkness. This is where our story begins...
