Shooting Star is the youngest foal in her whole class and of course, is the only one without a cutie mark. Everyone else talks about their destinies and what their cutie marks mean for them, but she doesn't understand. Surely as a pegasi, hers would be something about flying or the weather, yet her lackluster skills at both made her feel otherwise. After being convinced by one of the other foals in her class, she ventures into the Everfree Forest in hopes to find her own destiny. Instead, she is taken by the dark magic that consumed Princess Luna and transforming her into Nightmare Moon. Shooting Star now has to figure out her own destiny whilst driving off the evil beginning to take over her.
