Under the Stars and Moon
The Children of the Night have a culture far removed from that of most Equestrians. It can cause strife and sadness, but also joy. Witness the adventure of one Child on her life's journey.
It was the 702nd year of Celestia's prosperous reign. Under the rule of the Princess, Equestria had grown far beyond the tiny kingdom and outlying settlements it once held, becoming the largest empire on the continent. She was beloved, praised, and in some circles, worshiped.
Unfortunately, not everypony agreed with her. Throughout Equestria, the cave-dwelling Children of the Night lived in fear of the sun and the ponies that lived beneath it. Divided into several clans, the largest in the far south, they refused to even come out of their homes until the moon as high in the night sky.
This is the story of one Child of the Night.
Based on the MLP fan animation Children of the Night, which can be found here. The prequel to this story need not be read to understand it (though it's short and I would certainly like if you did).
