Accidental Dimensions.
Band Practice
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSince there are two who commented...eenie meenie minie Shadow
It was near noon when Shadow opened his door for his female counterpart. Moonlight entered and slightly frowns. The place reminds her too much of her dimension home. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea she thought as she went in.
"Just sit on the couch and I'll get you something to drink." Shadow said, following behind her and closing the door. Moonlight moved to the couch and sat down, grunting in annoyance at her injured arm. "Don't worry about Macareia getting mad, she thinks being in a similar place would make you feel comfortable." He said as he entered the kitchen.
"How about creepy." She grumbled. She looked around the small apartment. There were sliding doors that lead to the bedroom ten steps away from the black leather sofa couch behind, the bathroom was also in there, the kitchen was on the right, about five steps. The kitchen was small but manageable with new fridge and oven that was installed last month (That happened to her, she doesn't know it's the same with Shadow).
Moonlight watched as he opened the fridge and grabbed some soda and closed it, walking over to the cabinet to get a glass for her. Moonlight looked at the coffee table, seeing a couple of photos. These weren't in her home. They're photos of Shadow and his girlfriend going to some diner, one was what appears to be in the barn, the other at the park, that one had Macareia on a swing, posing cutely with her orange hair in pigtails. Shadow and Moonlight lead very different ways of life and dates. Moonlight looked at the walls and saw photos of his many adoptive families. Funny, Moonlight didn't even have hers up. She left them after she decided to live on her own. She guesses that his last family was kind to him...what luck.
Shadow came back with her glass of soda and hand it to Moonlight. He noticed her looking at the photos and smirked. "They died from a fire six months before I moved into town." He explained as if Moonlight wanted to know. Which she didn't.
A ping of jealousy hit her hard. She was fucking raped by her last foster father before moving. She ran away before she can get hurt again. It took her two years before she can trust herself around guys again! And that was only towards Big Mac. She's surrounded by seven guys for Christ's sake, she felt really uncomfortable being around them. Moonlight guzzled the carbonated, caramelized water contents.
She turned to Shadow and sighed. "I got band practice to get to. Principal Solaris agreed to give us a second chance to play. It's um, next week."
"Can I come? I don't want to stay here alone right now." Moonlight said quickly, setting the glass on the table.
"Um, sure I guess. but first, Macareia said you can wear some of her clothes until we can get your own. They're in the bedroom. She keeps them in the top drawer." He tells her, sitting down on the couch.
"Got it." she grumbled, standing up and going to the sliding doors. She opened a bit before slipping inside, closing the doors behind her.
She puts her forehead on the door, trying her best to hold back tears. This wasn't right. She didn't belong in this world. this was so wrong. In truth, she didn't want to go anywhere. She wants to just lie down and pretend that this was a dream. But it wasn't. She's basically in a stranger's room, getting in clothes that another stranger lend her.
She sucked in some air before turning to the dressers.
"Okay, Moon, top drawer." She told herself, moving her way to the dressers. She grabbed the brass knob with her good hand and pulled. When she did, she found a few good tees, some shorts, some colorful panties, a few bras and a few other things she's not going to mentioned. She just grabbed what she needed before closing it. "Okay....after you're healed, get a job while you are stuck here and get yourself some of your own clothes."
She slowly tugged the sling off of her, her arm still in a pink cast. That was when she noticed some writing that was along across the arm. She tilted her head to read it and sighed. "Oh seriously?"
Hey, Moonlight right? If you need a date, here's my digits. 556-465-2154. From your Number one Athlete, Rainbow Blitz
"If I wasn't injured, his ass would going to the leprechauns." Moonlight grumbled.
She tossed the sling across the room and began to strip the hospital clothes off. The only shoes she has was the booties and she didn't think Shadow's girlfriend has her size. She takes a simple red sports bra and slips it on. she had to admit, it was a bit bigger than her normal clothing. she slips on the underwear - fits well- granny smith green tee - a bit big again like her bra. What was Macareia? Double F? She tugs the pants on and then slips back the hospital booties on before finding herself looking at the mirror.
Normally, she doesn't mind wearing Big Mac's clothes. she loved how it feels like she's wearing a tent. It made her feel safe, despite the rough start they had. But these weren't Big Mac's. These were a girl who just looks like him. She hugged herself, being careful not to hurt herself. She misses him. She missed her gentle red giant.
"Moonlight?" Shadow knocked on the door. "You okay?"
Moonlight looked up, cut off of her sudden memory. "Yeah, I'm fine, I'll be out in a second."
"Okay." Shadow said, she heard him walking away from the door.
Moon looked at her reflection one more time before sighing. No use for sapping, she'll have to get out before she puts herself in a shriveled corner. Moonlight walked towards the doors and opened it with her good arm. "I'm ready."
"Alright." Shadow Star nods, leading her out of his apartment. As they went down the hallway, they were stopped by very familiar set of twin sisters. Shim Sham sisters
"Well lookie what we have here dear sister," Shim cooed.
"Our favorite tenant, but this time with a different girl." Sham cooed as well. Blocking their way.
"What do you bitches want?" Shadow grumbled. "I already paid this month's rent." He shoved his hands in his pockets.
"Yes, but you also forgot to pay for the heating-"
"Lighting."
"Internet."
"Water,"
"Look ladies, I know i'm a bit behind but give me tomorrow, I'll have your bloody money." He snarled at them. Moonlight saw how tensed Shadow Star was towards these two. Like he wants to hit them but he's holding back.
"You better Shadow or else, we'll collect our "payment" some other way again." Sham said, circling Shadow with her sister.
"And we just might have to take interest from your girlfriend...and this new friend of yours." Shim strokes Moonlight's chin.
Moonlight grabbed the sister's wrist with her good hand.. "Not in the fucking mood, bitch. He'll get your money...you won't be touching any one." She growled.
"L-let's not get too hasty, my injured friend," Sham chuckled nervously, seeing how tight Moonlight has latched onto Shim's wrist.
"We'll give him twenty-forty hours!" Shim shouts in pain, feeling painfully tight Moonlight had her grip. "Forty hours to pay his dues."
"Okay." Moonlight grunts, letting go of her. Shim retreated to her sister, rubbing her wrist, which now clearly has a bruise where Moon's hand was at.
the twins looked at each other before moving past them to bother other tenants.
Shadow Star drove through town in his sleek black car. Moonlight sat in the passenger seat, looking out at the window. They haven't said anything to each other since that little incident. Shadow was the first to spoke.
"How did you guess?" He asked her, his eyes on the road. "When they say they'll have to get their payment some other way, how did you know?"
Moonlight sighed. "My foster father, the last one before I left on my own...when I accidentally broke his expensive five hundred dollar tennis racket. I was playing with some friends when it broke....I didn't had any ID to get a job...he told me there were other ways to pay him..." She couldn't finish what happened. It was too painful explain it.
Shadow thought for a moment before frowning. "He touched you...?"
"Every night for the next six months....when I heard those ladies said that, I snapped." She said, shaking her head. "Anyway, Christmas rolls around, I packed what stuff I got and ran."
"I'm sorry..." He said, pulling up to a stop light. As they waited for the red light to go green, he chuckled. "I guess....we both have skeletons in the closet....Thanks for what you did back there, I owe you one."
"No problem. I'm a girl, I can hit them, you can't." She smirked. Again they shared a chuckle.
"Well...I owe you lunch one day." He grins, as soon as the red turn green, he drove on.
Moonlight rolled her eyes at him and looked at the window once more. As they drove, Moonlight was lost in deep thought, gazing down the streets. It was very strange; She recognize the shops, and in fact several of the people in the streets. But somehow their genders have been swapped. In this world, it seems normal, but to Moonlight, this was just plain weird and a bit confusing. A sea full of familiar faces. She can easily pick out who were they. She sees a white girl who clearly had been in the gym plenty of times: Bulk Biceps; A long blue spike haired girl with yellow-orange skin, looking like a rocker, Flash Sentry; a guy who's trying to perform magic, Trixie. She can name out everyone she saw as the car drove past. But she knows...these people are different now. That means, different names to memorize, different personalities, and clearly, different pasts, stories of their own. And right now, she's in her next chapter of her own.
"Okay, let's get this over with guys," The sound of Shadow Star brought Moonlight back to reality. It took Moonlight a second to remember where she was. She was in the male Applejack's barn, sitting on top of a barrel with Macareia. The boys, all but Sunset Glare who was absent at the moment, were getting ready for band practice.
"We can't start without Sunset." Butterscotch said, holding his tambourine.
"This band got started without him." Rainbow Blitz said, tuning his guitar. "We can practice without him for now. And besides, we have a little audience here." His eyes drifted to Moonlight, giving her a sexy wink.
"I rather hear a cat's nails scratching on a chalkboard than listening to a guy who might have an army of leprechauns chasing his rainbow colored ass." Moonlight stuck her tongue out at him, causing a few snickers from the other boys.
"That was good." Macareia smiled, playfully nudging Moonlight's arm.
Moonlight nervously smiled at her. This was so weird. She's sitting next to the female version of her boyfriend, she couldn't bring herself to say anything next. Why was she next to her? Moonlight didn't want to but still couldn't bring herself up to say to the crimson farmer "Hey, could you not like sit next to me? I'm still trying to get over the fact you look like my boyfriend." But she couldn't, instead, she sat there awkwardly.
"Maybe later, we can go shopping. Lord knows that yah need some clothes." Macareia offered. "But yer can borrow meh whenever ya want."
"Thanks." Moonlight said through her teeth. SO WEIRD!!!! Moonlight advert the farmer's eyes and looked at the boys. They were talking about something when Sunset Glare runs in.
"Sorry, I'm late," He apologizes, grabbing his rhythm guitar and strapping it on. "Ready?"
"ONE! TWO!" ~~Pinkie Pie~~ Bubble Berry smack his drumsticks above his head before he started banging the drums, starting up the song.
Elusive started playing his keytar, and soon the rest follow pursuit. Moonlight realized that this song they were playing was what she was going to play before she came here. The song had a catchy beat. Just as soon as Shadow was about to sing, Blitz began to play a guitar solo, ruining the song.
"Stop stop stop!" Shadow groans, having the rainbooms to stop. "Blitz, I love ya man...but you need to just stop!"
"That song wasn't going to bring in the girls, we need to stick what we know." Blitz said.
"Dude, we can practice new songs." Bubble said. "We have been practicing Shadow's song for a while now."
"And now that I think about it, Moonshine's appearance gave me a wake up call, your song, Shadow, stinks." Blitz commented.
"Um brotha....you best better take that back." Moonlight spoke up. "I too wrote that song." She chuckled darkly.
Blitz blushed softly before grinning. "What if I don't?"
"You really want me to answer that?" Moonlight commented.
"Rainbow, we've promised Shadow we can play his song," Applejack said, glaring at the althete, "Now we're going to play-"
Elusive's phone started to ring. "Pardon me gents," the fashionista takes his phone out and looked at it and grins. "I'm sorry gentlemen but I have an order to fill out. reschedule for another time?"
The other boys sighed, shaking their head before Shadow spoke.
"Go ahead, we got some priorities to straighten out." He glared at Blitz.
"Ta-ta." Elusive drops his keytar and ran out back to his boutique..
"Well, while the boys bicker, why don't we leave, it's going to get messy as always." Macareina commented, looking at the stubborn gents.
"I rather watch, sorry, raincheck?" Moonshine asked.
"Alright, just be careful." she smiled, patting Moonshine's back before leaving. She looked at the boys and chuckled. "Nothing really changes here."
