Fear Upon The Horizon: Rebirth

According to legend, hundreds of thousands of years ago, the spirits of power did not always walk upon the earth. The Great Mother of Creation, then known as The Goddess of Order, and The Lord of Chaos lived high over the Earth and held balance. The Goddess and Lord held a perfect balance. Despite her best efforts, some of the Lord's chaotic creations sometimes went out of control. The Goddess, intent on making sure her creation bellow would remain in balance, creates a spirit of Lawful Good to contain the unnecessary chaos energy. His name was Lord Lorthalis. For many decades, his efforts are a success and balance remains in the world.

Lorthalis used his power to lock away the energy where it would not harm anypony and his hope was that it would disperse normally. But unfortunately, he was wrong. The energy he worked so hard to lock away and spread out congealed into a being of malicious darkness, a being of Chaotic Evil. When he came to life, he took the name Nacht. Being a creation of Lord Discord's Chaos Energy, Nacht is deemed to be a child of the Lord of Chaos. And Lorthalis being a child of Mistress Rosetta, was deemed to be Nacht's brother. With his eventual escape from where Lorthalis had trapped the energy that made him, he would create a conflict that would span a hundred years.

Nacht took it upon himself to bring down the world below in a ball of fire. Though he followed in Lord Discord's footsteps for some time, he was planning something much worse: to trick a kingdom into declaring war on another. Lorthalis, outraged his brother would cause something so destructive, brought in a kingdom he was worshipped in into the conflict. The City of Crow was brought in against the Kingdom of Strum. For one hundred years, the two brothers, through their kingdoms, fought for supremacy over one another. Chaos and Order at war for that long took its toll on the world. It was then that their mother had had enough. And that is where our story begins.
