A Night With: Rainbow Dash 2
Lyra's Confession

Rainbow's Perspective
I followed Lee as he walked away, worry growing in my chest as he seemed to fume, I didn't blame him. After what Hunter told us, about their world... and how so few of them were left, and it was all because of... of someone like Sombra, I couldn't blame either one of them for being so angry right now. They had lost their homes, their families, their friends... because of a monster that didn't physically exist on their world. It was heartbreaking to see my coltfriend like this.
"Lee," I called out to him, but he kept moving. I trotted a bit faster after him, passing by several guards as we entered the castle from the side. "Lee!"
He still didn't answer me, as we entered the castle and he continued to wander up the stairs.
"Lee... you're scaring me, talk to me!" I begged him as we ventured up the stairs, he actually was scaring me, Lee, please...
Eventually we ended up back upstairs, near the guest bedrooms. There was plenty of damage in the castle, but not a lot, and when we got to our room, he went inside and took off his sword before tossing it aside without a care as to where it landed before sitting down on the floor. His knees were pulled up to his chest, with one of his hands on his forehead.
I stepped into the room carefully, wings held at my sides as my armor shifted against my body ever so slightly. I had no doubt he heard me, as his head turned a little, but he didn't face me.
He just sat there...
"Lee..." I started, looking at my human as he sighed gently.
"What?" He asked, as I sat near his side.
"Talk to me." I replied to him, speaking softly as my wing went around his back. He looked up at me, and gave me a look I've never seen before...
Defeat.
"Lee..."
"Billions... Rainbow... billions." He told me, a shaky sigh escaping him. "Billions of innocent people... killed by a fucking cartoon character!" He yelled, punching his fist into the floor, I just held onto him, throwing my arms around him and holding him tight. "My family is gone... my friends..." Lee spoke softly, in a near whisper. "They're all gone..."
It hurt to see him like this, and I had no doubt he was hurting on the inside... I would be too, if someone told me my family was gone, my home destroyed, and billions of my own kind were killed by something that shouldn't have been real to begin with. It brought a tear to my eye to see him hurting, to feel him hurting, his voice had so much pain in it, it hurt me in turn. "Lee... I'm so sorry." Was all I could tell him, holding onto my human, hoping that I could ease his pain... somehow, someway.
Knocking on the door brought our attention away, as I saw Hunter standing by the door.
"Can I talk to Lee?" Hunter asked, I didn't exactly feel right about leaving Lee alone...
"Its fine Dashie, I'll be fine..." Lee told me, giving me a tight hug.
A heavy sigh was my answer, as I returned it before kissing him on the cheek. "I'll be outide." I told him, as I started to the room's door, and left down the hallway. Sombra's going to pay for this...

Lee's Perspective
I stood up with a sigh, smoothing out my pants as I gave Hunter a look over. He was pretty rugged looking, pale skin, scraggly goatee and hazal eyes, and a mop of dark brown hair that was tied into a ponytail. He was wearing a tight black shirt with a jacket over it, black gloves with the fingers cut off, a pair of combat pants and boots. He was also wearing a backpack, his M14 rifle on his back, along with a bandoleer filled with knives and ammo clips, on his hip I saw a Beretta 92FS, Police standard issue.
"You a cop or something?" I asked him, as he came into the room.
He shook his head. "No, I was with one after everythign went to shit... Arkansas got hit hard." He chuckled, wiping his mouth. "Sombra seriously did this..."
"Yeah," I told him, shaking my head as I thought about how insane that must have sounded. "Sombra... The Mad King, a cartoon character, did all of this..."
"When they first came..." Hunter started, as I listened. "No one could believe it, they tried to find the source, preppers got the hang of things and ran for bunkers and hideaways, military mobilized," He waved his hand and I nodded.
"Typical response to a pandemic?"
"Yeah," Hunter nodded. "It was hard, those first few months... lost a lot of my group."
"Your group?" I didn't know he was leading a group.
Hunter went over to a chair and sat down, with me sitting on the bed nearby. "Me, my family, neighbors, some randoms, a few police officers and Ex-military, lead them away from the hot zone and into Star City, capital of Arkansas..." The young man chuckled darkly, looking down. "We started out as thirty strong... by the time we got to Star City... we were only two."
"Your family?" I asked.
"... No..." He gave me a shaky sigh, leaning down on his knees and propping his chin up with his hands. "I had to put them down when they turned." That made me go wide eyed, and he nodded. "I know... I killed my own family, and trust me it wasn't easy... my sister, mother, little brother..." Hunter then reached into his pocket, pulling out three shell casings for a 9mm bullet. "One to the head each... I keep these to remind me everyday, about who I failed..."
Jeez... no man should have to do that. I didn't know how to respond to that, I rubbed my eyes, and replied, "I don't think I could do that to my own family..."
The man nodded his head, and said, "No one should have to... I've lost my entire family, in just three days, and every one of my friends are gone... I have nothing left."
There was silence between us both, with me just thinking about how hard it must have been for him, how hard this is just hitting me. It hurt, but it had to have hurt him more, I never saw my family after leaving four years ago, and I'd never see them again. He saw his family turn, saw them get bit, and turn into flesh hungry monsters created by another worse monster.
"How do you keep going?" I asked him finally, how could anyone?
It took him a few moments, my fellow human sucking in hi cheek before saying, "I don't..." I rose an eyebrow to that, as he continued. "I've come close to biting the bullet each day... now that I know who's done it..." He looked up at me, "I'm going to kill him... before I'm done..."
"You... you mean you're..."
"Yep... no point in going on."
"How can you say that?" I asked him, standing up. "You're just going to... kill yourself?"
"What's left for me?" Hunter questioned in return, I didn't have anything for that. "The holdouts, long before I left, I heard rumors the far eastern walls fell to over a million infected... there were maybe fifty thousand live people out that way... and now they're steadily moving westward, devouring everything in their path..."
"I know how you feel... losing your family, friends..." I shook my head, sighing shakily. "But I don't plan on killing myself, you know why?" I asked him, stepping forward. "Cause I made a shit ton of new friends here, in Equestria and beyond..." I told him, before shaking my head again, grinning, "No... not friends... family, is what they all are to me. They took me in, some random human, who knew jack all about how to survive in a world filled with magic... and they helped me live, they helped me grow... they took me in..." I saw I had Hunter's attention, and I went closer over to him, kneeling down and saying, "I know for a fact... everyone here, is willing to help you move on... if all is really lost on our world... then we kill Sombra, make him pay... and we start over..."
Hunter seemed to be thinking for a few, and I stood up and let him. Eventually, after a few minutes, he nodded, sighing as he also stood up. "I know It ain't right for me to think it... but that's all that's been on my mind..."
"Would your family want you to kill yourself? Instead of killing Sombra and denying him one less human life he's taken?" I quipped, smirking as Hunter added his own smirk.
"You're right... maybe I can start over..." With that said, he gave me a sigh before turning around and walking towards the open door. "I'll... see you later, maybe we can plan on finding Sombra... he's going to pay for what he's done." He uttered, and I gave him a nod.
"You're damn straight." I replied, as he left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I went over to the bed, sitting down and running a hand through my hair, and noting it had grown longer. I'd need to get it cut, or grow it out... probably cut it, or get a ponytail, I wonder what Rainbow would think of that hairstyle? Hehehe, she'd probably find it funny, or love it... who knows. I sighed, looking up at the ceiling as I heard hoofsteps, followed by a familiar voice.
"L-Lyra? How are you up!" Rainbow cried, followed by an 'Oof' sound, as Lyra herself spoke.
"I t-thought you and Lee were goners!" She cried, as I soon saw her and Rainbow being pushed into rainbow and I's room. I noticed her gown was gone, and her body looked... different, she looked more healthy, that's not to say she was always unhealthy, but she looked better.
"Lyra? What's wrong, why'd you-" I wasn't able to finish that comment, as I was suddenly tackled by 70 pounds of minty green pony and knocked back with a cry. Crap! Was not expecting that in the slightest.
"Lee!" Lyra yelped, as Rainbow shook herself, before flying over to us, landing on the bed.
"Lyra, what happened to you? How... how are you better?" She asked, with me giving a questioning look to Lyra as well. She looked way better, way way better, like she wasn't even hurt to begin with!
Lyra's shiny golden eyes looked up into my own, and i saw a fear in them that I've only see in a few others...
Ones who's seen death.
"Lee... t-they attacked the hospital!" Lyra whimpered, holding onto me tightly and I couldn't help but return the hold. "They came in and killed everyone, a-and I barely got out alive." She told Dash and me, and I winced from the tight hold. I couldn't imagine being in her weak state, and all alone in the hospital with hundreds of those things... she must have been terrified.
"Lyra." I started, running my fingers through her mane. "How did you get out... exactly?" I asked, I had a sneaking suspicion of course, something that had to do with what Celly told me about Lyra's magic.
Looking up at me again, Lyra whimpered out, "I can use my magic again..." She said, and I saw her horn glow before several things in the room levitated up into the air... which mostly included the bed we were on, the dresser, another table, a few chairs and judging from the terrified yelps outside the room, probably whoever was walking by.
"Whoah whoah whoah." I said, feeling the bed buckle slightly efore we were set down with a thud. Lyra's horn gave out, an she coughed a few times, which ended with blood getting on my shirt. "Lyra? Lyra are you okay?"
She gave me a weak nod in reply, still holding onto me. Rainbow did the same, wing wrapped around my back as we all just sat on the bed, thoughts whirling. My thoughts anyway, Lyra looked better, sounded better and didn't look like she was blown up, which made me happy. But turning back to what Celly told me... meant that Lyra's power levels were, quite literally over 9000. As poor as that joke is, I had to make it, so don't blame me you jerks!
Time passed us by, the sunt outside eventually setting as the smoke from the destruction continued to rise into the sky. I heard ponies outside running out, names were yelled into the night and I felt my heart skip a few beats... how many ponies were killed because of Sombra's rampage? How many families torn apart because of that bastard? I had no fucking idea, but I raged internally because of it... I had plenty I wanted to do to him.
"Did you ask him?" Lyra's soft and sweet voice broke me out of my internal rampage, and I found my gaze had drifted to the window, whee I could see the smoky filled skies of the Crystal Empire.
Ask me what? I wondered, deciding to play along and not pay attention.
"Ask him...?" Rainbow mirrored, and I imagined her eyes going wide. "Oh... no I... I forgot, with everything going on I..."
Ehh, nuff playing around. Turning to look down at the ponies, i asked, "Ask the oh so delicious Lee what?"
Both mares looked up at me, Rainbow coughed into her hooves and Lyra was blushing up a storm... like, she wasn't minty green anymore, she was more like blood r-holy crap is Lyra dying?
"Uuuuh, Lee..." Rainbow turned to me, eyes locking with my own. "There's... something I was gonna ask you but... with Sombra and everything else I kinda never got the chance." She told me somewhat nervously, as Lyra righted herself in my lap.
I rose an eyebrow at her behavior, what's she got to be nervous about? "Uhm... kay...? Ask me what?"
Rainbow poked Lyra in the ribs, causing Lyra to squeak as she made a head gesture toward me. Lyra shook her head, but Rainbow nodded firmly and gestured to me again...
GIrls are so weird.
With a huff and a puff of her cheeks, Lyra looked up at me from where she was straddling my lap, golden eyes shining slightly as her ears folded back. "L-Lee... I uh..." She gulped, and I patted her on the head. "I asked Rainbow... and she said we had to talk to you about it and... this is kinda important and a really super big decision that... that I want to make and... I wanted to ask this for a long time..."
Jeez, Lyra's getting all flustered and shit, what could she have to tell me that's s-
"Can I join your herd and be your marefriend?" Lyra finished.

A sputtering noise. "I didn't think he would go catatonic!"

I blinked my eyes. "Uhhhh... did I hear you right?"
Lyra turned back to me with a almost dejected look in her eyes. "I... Lee..." Instead of words... Lyra shot forward, and she did something that completely shocked me, and left Rainbow speecheless...
She kissed me...
Before I could even react, she said, "I love you Lee..."

A Shitty Timeskip Later
I laid outside on the balcony... staring off into the vast endless expanse of space itself as I tried to gather my thoughts on what happened with Lyra. She kissed me... Lyra, a pony that I, 100% originally thought was with Bonny, kissed me, locked lips and went the whole ten yards. And... I liked it... Rainbow was shocked, but she didn't look like she was going to kill Lyra or anything, if anything she looked a bit... accepting? Of the entire ordeal, I honestly don't know...
But Lyra's question of wanting to join my herd, and her confession of love for me really... caused me to crash and burn.
I needed some time alone after that, so I left Dashie and Lyra alone so they could... talk I guess.
Herd... i mirrored the word Lyra asked me... Join my herd, both Dashie and Lyra? Could I even handle that? I know all about herds and shit, how they work and stuff... I know that Thunderlane had one with the twins in Ponyville, and there were some others scattered around the world but... the thought of it weirded me out, I wasn't against it or anything I was just... confused I guess, that after all of this, Lyra wants to be my girlfriend alongside Dashie.
Could I handle that? I mean, could I really handle the world's fastest pegasus and a unicorn who's level with Twilight in terms of raw magical power and control?
...
I have no idea.
Sighing, I looked up into the starry sky, noticing a black puff of smoke hovering above before it turned into Sombra. He smiled smugly down at me as I shot up, and I cursed myself for not bringing my sword with me.
We had a stare off... before he disappeared.
Goddamn the friendship beam of harmony... cause when I get my hands on him...
Sombra...
Will...
Die.
